Please help I am stumped!
I have an hp pavilion dv7 and everything powers on, fans running, disk drive spins but hard drive access light does not blink or turn on. I took out the hard drive to test it and the hard drive reads just fine and works. Power still continues to stay on but recognization of hard drive and screen stays black and bios does not even come up. Any help would be apprecitated thank you.

According to the error message you have posted I suspect there could be a hardware issue on your Notebook
It could be possible that the Hard Drive on the Notebook could be corrupted or it might have bad sectors
Please perform the Steps as shown below:-
1. Please "Turn OFF" the Notebook
2. "Power ON" the Notebook and keep tapping the Escape Key during the start up to enter the Start-up Menu
3. Now here, Please select the BIOS option [F10] and under the Advanced or Diagnostic tab
4. You should find the facility to run tests on both the Hard Disk Drive and Memory
Note: Please perform these two tests and post back with the details of any error messages

I do believe you have to commit the unit of work. The unit of work is supposed to know the current UserTransaction state and should determine whether to perform the commit or not.
For reference, I have been able to integrate with UserTransactions successfully. My code has the following characteristics:
- The client session is retrieved from the Server object using acquireClientSession()
- The unit of work is retrieved using acquireUnitOfWork() on the client session.
- I DO call commit() on the unit of work when I am done with my updates (your email indicated you were not committing?)
The work is not committed to the database until UserTransaction.commit() is invoked. I verified this in the debugger by stepping through.
The integration works better than I expected, because the UnitOfWork determines at commit time whether it is controlling the transaction or not. At least it behaves that way. If my code starts a UserTransaction before creating the unit of work, it waits for my code to commit. If my code does not start, the UnitOfWork commits itself.

HT1331 Please help Windows user find disk on network...I'm stumped
I'm running Windows Vista and Windows 7 on another PC. Neither can even connect with the AIrPort Extreme by typing 10.0.1.1 in my browser. It shows up fine with AirPort Utility, it's IP is in fact 10.0.1.1. Internet works, file sharing from PC to PC works. I tried turning off the firewall, tried all the suggestions on this site as well.
Because 10.0.1.1 doesn't work in my browser I can't even get to the step of mounting the drive via Map Network Drive since it won't recognize 10.0.1.1 let alone \\10.0.1.1\My Book\.
Using Airport Utility and choosing Disk I can see the disk just fine, it's just not accessable via the network.
I'm connected to the internet via a DSL modem and my basestation is the PPPoE client set to be a DCHP server.
Also, I can ping 10.0.1.1 no problem.
Please help. I'm stumped.
Thank you.I got a hold of a Mac and when I typed \\10.0.1.1 in it's browser it crashed Safari every time. So that didn't get me far.
You do not open network resources in a browser.. you do not use double backslash in any OS except windows..
To open the TC disk in Mac OS.. just open finder..
The Time Capsule should list in finder under shared.
It is automagical.. but if you do need to open it.. use the Go .. Go to Server in the top menu of finder and type AFP://10.0.1.1
Or SMB://10.0.1.1
If you still have the Mac available please try again. If it does not show up in finder.. even if the disk shows up I think you have formatted it wrongly.
Exactly what format is the disk?? TC has very limited formats it can read.. basically FAT32 and HFS+..
Please plug the disk into the Mac and format the disk HFS+.. you can still write to it from a PC on the network. HFS+ is far superior format to FAT32.
Once the Mac can read it connected to the AEBS then the windows computers can work. without the Mac working the PC will never see it. -
Ok...I am really stumped by this...(Please Help!)
I am new to Dev. Conn. and to programming in Java. I am working on a project for school. I have written this test application to take Morse Code input from a JOptionPane and output the corresponding letters to System.out --- but it does not work. It compiles and accepts input but then just freezes up. Can someone please help? I am not looking for you to do it for me just help me to understand what I am doing wrong. Thank you in advance.

PLEASE HELP -- iTunes Match - multiple problems, desktop and iOS
I've been going round and around with this issue for the past couple days (yes, I've been dedicating that much time to it) and finally went to the Genius Bar today to get help and even they were stumped. Hoping someone here can shed some light on the situation. Next stop, express lane for support.
Broad Problem:
I paid for iTunes Match around 6 months ago and activated it on my desktop. Since then, I've had nothing but problems across my desktop and 4 seperate iOS devices (3 iPhone 4's, and an iPad 3). The basic sympton on the desktop is that iTunes itself frequently freezes (Option-Command-Esc reveals "Application Not Responding") and requires a force quit. As soon as I turn OFF iTunes Match, this symptom goes away. I can leave iTunes open for hours without any problems. As soon as I turn it back ON, then the problem comes back -- sometimes iTunes won't launch at all (crashes before bringing the UI up), and other times it's the same freeze that requires a force-quite. Quite frustrating.
On the iOS side of things, the situation isn't any better. When I toggle on iTunes Match and then enable "Show All Music" in the Preferences of the iPhone, then I get any one of the two following scenarios:
A) The Music App simply won't load. It tries, goes to white, and crashes back to the home screen of my iPhone.
B) If I'm lucky, the Music app will launch and I can see my entire library in the cloud as intended. The problems start though when I go to actually download/play songs from the cloud. Typically, the songs will start playing but I will eventually get an error message that alerts me that there was "Problem Downloading Track". When I then go into the Download Que of the iTunes Store (again, still on the iPhone), it shows the entire list of songs that I had wanted to download and shows them at various stages of download completion -- even if they have actually completely played on the phone itself. Sometimes they will time out and display the "problem downloading track/try again" status, and other times the progress bar sits at about 99% with a status of "Processing".
What's particularly strange about scenario B is that I've tried to download a variety of songs to different devices -- my wifes iPhone 4, my iPhone 4, an iPad, and a iPhone 4S that the person at the Genius Bar had me use as a tester. When I tried the iPhone 4S at the genius bar, I was amazed at how fast it downloaded to the device. This had the genius bar guy wondering if it was a problem with my phone itself or with the iPhone 4 in particular. Unfortunately he didn't have a spare iPhone 4 to test with so I had to go home and test with my wife's iPhone 4. Again, she had the same problem. The status bar hangs at about 99% showing a status of "processing", even though I have completely listened to the track within the Music App. The same scenario happens on the iPad as well.
Okay, if you're with me so far: here's where things start to get REALLY strange....
On MY iPhone 4, when I run into problem A or B, the only fixable solution for me has been to go into Preferences and toggle OFF iTunes Match, completely shut down the phone, restart the phone, and then launch the Music App, at which point I can see the music that has loaded to my phone. The kicker here is that even though I've turned iTunes Match OFF and completely powered down my phone, when I go into the Music app I can ALSO see my ENTIRE iTunes Match library, completely with cloud status icons. It's as though I never turned off iTunes Match at all. In fact, I had to triple check my own preferences to verify that it was turned OFF, which it sure enough is. I can even go and attempt to download songs, with various levels of success based on the problems above.
Now, on my WIFE's iPhone 4, when I run into problem A or B, I tried the same process in tandem with the phones side by side as I did the test -- turn iTunes Match OFF in Preferences, power down the phone, power up the phone, and launch the Music app. However, on her phone, when this happens the Music App shows what is to be expected -- only the music that is on the phone itself.
Okay, there's a lot to digest here, but here's the synopsis: my phone and my wifes phones are behaving differently when displaying iTunes Match, with my phone appearing to completely disregard the status of the On/Off Toggle within Preferences-->Music, and my wifes phone behaving as it should, at least in terms of what it displays. The download problems are present on each device and the iPad is also behaving like my wifes phone.
Given all of these inconsistencies and irregularities across devices and platforms -- MacBook Pro running Lion, separate iPhone 4's each running iOS 5.1.1, an iPad running iOS 5.1.1. and an iPhone 4S running iOS 5.1.1 - my suspicion is that:
A) I've got a corrupt iTunes library file residing in the cloud
or
B) iTunes Match is having a hard time reconciling my Apple ID across so many devices (possibly complicated by issue A)
The bottom line is that I have paid for iTunes Match and have never been able to use it successfully or with any predictability.
I'm wondering if anyone else has any symptoms that match any of this and/or have come across a corrupted file in the cloud and, if so, how to remedy the situation. Since it's in the cloud, I can't do anything about. I can't even see it. Most troubling.
Note:
When I went to the Genius Bar, they had me do a complete restore of the phone (not from backup) to elminate any corrupt files within the phone itself. Even that didn't solve the problem. That's when he brought out the 4S phone to test on and we were both so shocked at how blazingly fast the songs downloaded, error-free. That phone was able to download 8 songs completely before one song downloaded to my phone sitting right next to it. Both on the same Apple Store network and both downloading the exact same tracks using my Apple ID and login. While it's tempting to say that the 4S is faster than the 4, I don't think it's 8 times faster with download speeds over WiFi. However, even if the speed/completion discrepancy is because the 4S is superior, it doesn't explain the mind-boggling disparity between my wife's phone and my phone -- both iPhone 4's and both running the same iOS. Throw in the oddity of iTunes on Lion crashing whenever iTunes Match is on and this all seems to point to some corruption in the cloud that perhaps the 4S device is able to bypass...for whatever reason.

Satellite m300 won't boot! please help!

I've got a bit of an issue here.. I have a Satellite m300.. a white one..
and it won't boot... I've had this very issue before but it turned out to be an external USB HDD that stopped it from booting up but now even with everything removed it still won't boot.
And it was fine until yesterday, it just gave up.. I am away from home for work so I have all the work stuff and unfortunately without my recovery cd, but my guess is that it won't even read it..
So this is what happens..
turn on..
all light come on.. including power and all the white lights around the keypad..
and then maybe 5 sedconds later caplock and numlock(?) green lights flash..
then it's a dead still.. no HDD activities or sound.. just dead quite..
the screen remains black blank through out..
it seems to get stuck here before reaching the post screen.
i thought the power button usually took more than just a push to turn off? it instantly swithces off with a single push of the power button..
I think this laptop is like on sleep or something and can't seem to wak up.. maybe?
And it has vista.
Please help.. I have some important work files I need to recover at least before formatting..
and that has to wait till I get home which won't be for a month or so..
which also lets me take it back for warranty as well..
any help appreciated!!!

Just removed all components. I reset the CMOS. I then reconnected the 20pin and 4pin, 1 stick ram, and the video card (no ide devices, no mouse, keyboard cd drives) and the monitor doesn't show up. I also tried another monitor so it isn't the monitor.
Could it have a bad AGP port?
Any other suggestions? I am thouroughly stumped. Also the power and reset buttons don't work no matter what configuaration I put the front panel connectors in. The Power LED is lit up and it doesn't work and the reset light is off and it doesn't work.
Also noticed one of my fans connected to one of the two other fan pins on the motherboard isn't working.

TO CEO @ VERIZON OR TO SOMEONE WHO CARES*** PLEASE HELP ME *** BEFORE I GO CRAZY
I have a vortex by LG. I got it in feb.2011. I have had trouble with it since that day. Turning off all the time , screen locking up, sending txt to someone different ,SD card not working ,which I have handled all these problems myself by resetting/swiping it clean often (which is a pain) taking the battery out , turning it off for a few hours , blah blah blah ,you know all the stuff you do to have a phone on the go. I asked around & most other people who had this phone was pleased. I only know off 3 other people who have this phone. then about a 3wks ago the SD card wouldn't mount or just wouldn't read @ all. I tried everything I knew to do . I go to the Verizon store waited my entire lunch break ( 1 hour) finally someone tried to help me I told him my problem he said well your going have to buy a new SD card which was about 60$ . I felt I waited for nothing. I spent over an hour for him too hold my phone & tell me pay more money. he still couldn't tell me why it did this or how to fix it . Just pay more money . Well I had a extra SD card from my camera it worked then few day later starts the same thing , good thing I didn't buy one cause looks like I would have had to spend it again anyways , but I could @ least call out & get calls. Finally a few days later my screened locked up completely I tried all the blah blah blah stuff again. This time it was no fixing it . I go to a different Verizon store hoping to get better/faster help I walk in & tell the lady my problem again on my lunch break she picks up the phone dials customer service & hands me the phone. I think really I could have did this myself why are you people even here! So the guy on the phone says your still under warranty we will send you a new phone or u can upgrade & get a new phone I asked for what kind of price he said the price of the phone , I said no thanks I just paid 200$ for this phone & haven't even got to enjoy it , just send me a new phone he said it could take up to 5 days!!! What I said can , u get it here any faster he replied yes for 13$ I can ship it overnight but it would take 2 days uh, just thought he said overnight!!! I guess over night doesn't mean what it says but I said I don't feel I should pay it since I really didn't break my phone he said there was nothing he could do but it probably wouldn't take the full 5 days they just have to say that ... Wow OK so 5 days goes by without any phone to use . I finally get the phone but it take the full 5 days,plus the 2 days I tried to fix it to avoid the stores I follow the instruction to activate it thought it was fine but then the next morning I get a call @ work from my babysitter stating my phone still didn't work!! After work I go back to the 1st Verizon store (which I dreaded so much I would have rather shot myself in the foot , but I'm a nurse who needs my foot & phone) since I had no help from either stores guess it didn't matter which one I went too. After waiting a good 45 MINUTES for help they finally look @ my phone they were stumped on what was wrong cause it said it was activated but not working they finally call someone & the guy finally tell me its is activated under someone else's # ! OK so what do I do ?? The guy hands me the phone says they needs to verify my address ( which I thought to make sure I account holder ) I gave the phone back to the guy @ the store they talk for a few more MINUTES. & he said OK , I was like OK what ! Oh he didn't tell you we are going have to send you NEW phone again!!! Really I have to go another 6 days without a phone!! He offered if I brought an old phone back in(which I live 20 MINUTES away) he could activate that one till I get the new phone in... 1st off I don't keep old phones I recycle them ( thought that was a good thing)& even if I did have one it wouldn't be a smartphone & that's what I pay dearly for... ( a phone store who can't lend you a phone while they are fixing your phone that you didn't break even thou you are still paying them for a phone) MESSED UP RIGHT! He said it shouldn't be that long they are going to overnight it for free but it was Saturday So he said I should get it TUESDAY.**lol overnight what !! Do I not know what overnight means*** I was like yeah yeah YOU ALL say that ! I left the store in tears I depend on my phone I have a 1 yr old child & my job depends on my phone as well . I go home from work Tuesday no phone image that , Wednesday I get a letter from fedx stating I was not home to sign for this device ! Really cause the last one was just put in my mailbox , didn't have to sigh anything the 1st time. I finally get the phone on THURSDAY. It was late so I waited till Friday to activate since I have already been without a phone for 12 days now. Today is Saturday. Guess what??? My phone is saying to mount the SD card again ! OK really I just been thru 3 phone in 13 days!! I DON'T FEEL I HAVE DONE ANYTHING WRONG TO MY PHONE . I KNOW NEW TECHNOLOGY IS GOING TO HAVE ITS MISTAKES SOMETIMES !! BUT NOT @ MY COST!!! I DON'T THINK I OR ANYONE DESERVES THIS! I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO????? I CAN'T AFFORD TO GO BY A SD CARD VERY FEW DAYS!! I CAN'T AFFORD TO PAY *****DEARLY**** FOR SOMETHING THAT I DON'T GET TO EVEN USE & NO ONE EVER OFFERED TO PRO-RATE BILL!!!! How To Edit a .pdf file - Please Help!
When I Googled the above question, I was told to download the Adobe Acrobat XI.
I tried downloading the trial version. I was then told to download the Creative Cloud to be able to download Acrobat XI.
I downloaded Creative Cloud, then I was taken to the Adobe Applications Manager Page which show a bunch of apps to download.
I don't know which app I will need for the editing. I was looking for Acrobat XI, but it's not showing anywhere.
I tried downloading Photoshop. This took more than 2 hours. After the download was complete, I tried launching it, but nothing happened.
I went back & double-checked the instructions, & I'm directed & got stumped at the Applications Manager page once more.
I find this very frustrating. I wish it were not this complicated.
I just want to edit a .pdf file, and nothing else. I'm not sure if I want to go through all these maze, or just use FIVVER, pay $5.00 & AVOID all these hassles.@nikoledeon.

PLEASE HELP, iPhone bricked, but not in the 'usual' ways
I have a horrible problem with my iPhone, which usually I have been able to fix most iPhone problems. I've seen a lot of issues as I used to administer a 200 strong iPhone4 fleet, but this has me stumped!
I have an iPhone4 GSM. Up until yesterday it was running iOS 5.1.1, and wanted to upgrade to iOS 6, not jailbroken.
I upgraded iTunes to the latest 10.7.0.21 (x64) and did a full backup/transfer purchases.
Then I hit restore and it upgraded to iOS6.
Then I restored from my backup. At this point everything was working perfectly. I have completed the iOS6 welcome wizard thing and was using my iPhone, iOS6 was working.
Next i synched my apps, music, etc back to my phone. AGAIN everything was working, my apps were back, everything was great!
I decided to do what I usually do last, and that is 'restore from backup' the phone again from the same back to restore icon layouts etc. (I nice little trick I always use).
This is where my problem is. Now my battery was at about 89% (it was without a doubt between 85-90%.)
I watched the restore start, I went and got some coffee and came back a few minutes later. iTunes seemed like it had completed the restore. But my phone was off, tried to wake it up with the home button, nothing. So I waited about a minute just incase it was busy doing something, but it wasn't.
After a minute I just tried to power it on normally just with the sleep button, held it for just 2 seconds or so and the silver apple logo came on.. for about 7 seconds.. then turned off again, nothing.
Tried it again and the same thing happened.
After the second appearance of the silver apple logo, I have been unable to get ANYTHING to happen again (no Silver apple logo, nothing)
I then tried to reset with holding home and sleep together (I waited 60 seconds, nothing).
Tried putting it into DFU mode, nothing.
Tried putting it into recovery mode (both ways), nothing.
I thought it was a power issue, seen that before so I left it on charge overnight on my wall charger, with no change this morning.
Please help, I don't know what to do!! Has anyone got any suggestions.

DJLayZTry this. First, remove battery and hold the power button down for about 10 seconds, then replace the battery and hold down command-option-p-r while hitting the power button. Hold those keys until you hear the start up chime three times, then release the keys. Any better?

Ipod not being detected by windows. please help!!!
I have an iPod 30 gb. Serial No- 8L647801V9K
Its about two years old.
All of a sudden one fine day, it stopped showing up on my the computer. Neither does itunes detect it nor does internet explorer. A bubble shows up saying the usb device attached has malfunctioned. It doesnt even charge.
I tried resetting it(centre + Menu)
then i thought my usb cable was bad.
i bought another one and the same problem continues.
i even tried the diagnostic option in itunes to detect ipod.
the ipods completely dysfunctional when connected via either of my two cables.
the 'do not disconnect sign' doesnt come and neither does the battery charging one.
there's nothing wrong with my computer or my usb because i tried my ipod with two other computers as well.
But funny enough, the ipod charges with the adaptor.
im totally stumped
i hope i manage to get this issue sorted out.
i feel lost without being able to update my ipod or sync my playlists.
please help me

I'm totally out of ideas here and would appreciate it if someone could help me? We have 2 XBox 360's both with the Microsoft XBox wireless adapters. My son has had his since they first came out whatever year that was. My youngest daughter got hers last October. Both XBox's connect to XBox LIVE without a problem via a Linksys WRT54GS wireless router. The problem we can't solve is - my oldest daughter and son-in-law live about a mile from us and they have an XBox 360. When we try to connect to their XBox (or anyone else that's local) to play against her and her husband, it won't connect and gives us a "Disconnected" prompt every time. They have no problem connecting to other XBox's locally but we, for some reason, can't. I can connect our XBox directly into our cable modem bypassing the Linksys and it connects to them, so it isn't the cable modem. I've changed settings on the router, internet, XBox with no luck. I've updated the firmware. I've read thru posts on the internet for weeks and now my brain is mush. Is this fixable or do I need to buy a new wireless router? Also, I don't know if this has anything to do with anything but we have 3 PC's and 3 DVR's also connected to the internet but are hard wired. My kids and grandkids have DSi's, a Playststion3, and a Wii and those all connect via wireless and work great. XBox has this WRT54GS listed as compatable. I'm stumped. I know there's some really sharp folks out there somewhere.......please help if you can? Thanks for any help you could offer!
Have you opened the ports on the router....?
If not then,you need to open ports 53-3074 on the router..Read this link. Also,under the security tab on the router,uncheck Block Anonymous Internet Requests and click on Save Settings... -
Functions not working please help
Hi Guys, well here it is:
I've been working with flash for a very long time both in as2 and 3 I recently had to re-visit a project in as2 and found something odd.
When I create a movie clip with a name: box_mc and inside I have a function ex:
function go()
trace("go has been activated")
once I go back to the root and call the function like so:
box_mc.go();
nothing happens. It has me totally stumped as I'm sure I've done this a million times what's up what is wrong.
Please help I'm going crazy, is it a setting?I'm such an idiot, thanks a lot. Haven't done timeline animations in a while.

Please HELP! - WRT54G2 setup problem
Please help! I have been working on this for 7 hours and I am ready to throw the linksys router out the window. I have the router wired to a desktop computer with XP and connected wirelessly to a notebook with Vista. No problem. My third computer - wireless notebook with XP - is really having a problem. I kept getting limited connectivity errors. I set up a static IP address - and it says I am connected - but I can't acces the internet or email. It keeps saying that I am offline. Please help!!!!
It's a good thing someone else is having the EXACT same problem as I am experiencing. Also, you have the exact same set up I have right now. My desktop is wired into the WRT54G2 Wireless router while my laptop with Vista is running smoothly on the internet. Now, when I turn on my girlfriends laptop with XP and run the internet on it, the internet turns to limited connectivity on the whole network and eventually dies out. I have run many different settings to resolve the problem but I am totally stumped. I have even returned the router back to Best Buy to switch for the same one thinking it was an internal problem.. no luck.
I hope to here someone's input on this situation ejaneevans and I are having.
