Error 17 (Resolve specific iTunes update and restore errors - Support - Apple) usually refers to a communication issue between your computer and the Apple servers. Not the iOS update in particular.

I'm having the identical problem on my iPhone 4 after upgrading to IOS 7--no ability to update apps or download new apps. Here is what Apple tech support emailed to me:
I understand that you are unable to download or update applications after updating iOS7 on your iTunes. I know you must be eager to get this resolved and I will be happy to help you today.

Please follow this steps:
1) Double tap the home button
2) Hold down on an icon
3) Tap the red "X" on iTunes, and the App Store.

6) Tap General
7) Tap Reset
8) Tap Network Settings
Once it has been closed with multi-tasking, and you have rebooted the device in the network settings reset, please sign in, and try again.

Mildly amusing that the instructions for force-closing a program are the IOS 6 instructions, which do not work on IOS 7.

PLEASE HELP. Cannot open a PDF document via a link in an email. I am using Mac 10.7.5 and Firefox.

If I receive a PDF document attached to an email by way of an icon, I can double click on the PDF icon and the document opens. HOWEVER, if I receive a link to a PDF document in an email, and I click on the link which leads me to a webpage with another link to a PDF document, when I click on the document, a new web page opens but NOTHING happens - no download box - just nothing.

Yes, I can right click and 'Save As' - but I don't want to. I want it to open as it used to open - displaying the open PDF document in a new web page.
Then I tried to click on a download button on a website to retrieve my statement - but again, a new web page would open but it would be BLANK. No sign of any download.
When I used to open PDFs on a webpage, I used to get the Download box which asked if I want to OPEN or SAVE. This doesn't appear any more.
Any help would be appreciated.
I have already gone to HD / Internet Plug-ins and deleted the two Adobe PDF plug ins - but this hasn't fixed my problem.

I am trying to update my iphone 5c via itunes but i always get this error:
network connection timed out
im downloading the new iOS until 100% and then after some seconds the error network connection timed out always appears
i try to update my ios 10 times from 7.04 to 7.1 and always the same thing happens
i have a mac mini with itunes 11.1.5 and this thing never happened to me before with my iphone
my ipad mini retina has no problem with updating with my itunes
do you have any solutions ?

i've tried some things like restore the iphone but i can only restore it and update it ..i cant only restore it so im back to the same problem ..i've downloaded the update and then itunes says iphone software update..stucks there for some minutes and then pops up the network time out error
