Please Help! I don't understand what's going on.

I'm almost at the end of my 30 day trial of lightroom. I like the program very much but there's one behavior that has me baffled. Lightroom doesn't always sync folders properly to reflect a RAW file that I've converted to TIFF or jpeg and saved to the same folder that the file originally resided in.
one example.
I opened a NEF file that I shot with the Nikkor 10.5mm fisheye lens in Nikon Capture to convert to a convertional (unfisheye) wide angle look. I save the file to the original folder as a 16 bit tiff. When I select the folder in Lightroom that I saved the tiff file to and do synchronize folder, the synchronize folder dialog box states that there are NO photos to add. I check the folder in the finder and the tiff file is there.
I try the exact procedure again and this time the sync folder dialog box says that is one file to import and the file is properly imported into the Lightroom database and the file shows up in the Lighroom folder.
Have other people had this experience.?

Saving the file and changing the file name did the trick. Lightroom Properly synchronized the folder and the new file is in the database.

I guess Lightroom sees two files as being the same file if the only difference is the file's extension. I will have to save the derivative files in a different folder in order to be imported into Lightroom's database.

Slow Macbook Pro- please help, I don't understand previous advice.

Hello all,
I have a very slow Macbook Pro running on Lion 10.7.3.
I looked up this problem on the forums before I sent this message but I didn't quite understand the advice. I have been on something called Disk Utility and Activity Monitor but don't really understand what I'm looking for. It seems a large percentage of my mac is 'idle' if that makes sense. Someone said to look at Page Out but I really don't understand what that means and what sort of numbers are normal.
I do have some storage left so I don't think it could be that. A lot of my gigabytes seem to be taken up by movies and 'other'. I've tried deleted a load of videos but it hardly made a difference. I have Mac Mail and it seems very slow on my Macbook compared to on my Ipad and iphone. iCal is also very slow on here and it always takes a while to load internet pages. It isnt the wifi connection.
Please help and bear in mind I am by no means a Mac whizz so you might have to talk in layman's terms!

If you have more than ten or so files or folders on your Desktop, move them, temporarily at least, somewhere else in your home folder.
If iCloud is enabled, disable it.
Disconnect all wired peripherals. Launch the usual set of applications you use when you notice the problem.
Step 1
Launch the Activity Monitor application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ If you’re running Mac OS X 10.7 or later, open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Activity Monitor in the page that opens.
Select the CPU tab.
Select All Processes from the menu in the toolbar, if not already selected.
Click the heading of the % CPU column in the process table to sort the entries by CPU usage. You may have to click it twice to get the highest value at the top. What is it, and what is the process? Also post the values for % User, % System, and % Idle at the bottom of the window.
Select the System Memory tab. What values are shown in the bottom part of the window for Page outs and Swap used?
Step 2
Launch the Console application in the same way as above, and select “kernel.log” from the file list. Post the dozen or so most recent messages in the log — the text, please, not a screenshot.
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Do not post many repetitions of the same message.

I don't understand what is going on

I sold my curve2 and got a new torch1, i don't understand what is happening. I see the contacts of the person using the curve2 now, and he changes my dp and display name. I tried creating a new BBID but its still the same.

Unable to open Adobe Creative Cloud. Please Help! Don't know what I am doing.

I quit out of the CC icon on the Apple Toolbar and couldn't get it to reappear yesterday. Today it has appeared but it is 'inactive', ie. in grey. When I position my mouse to it, I get the 'spinning colour wheel of death'. To make things worse, I then couldn't get the app to open from Applications. I got the error:
I then tried to uninstall the app, and reinstall it from the site, and received this message:
I don't know where it's opened, and now I trashed the app to be able to reinstall the Creative Cloud app, but am receiving the same message.
Someone please help! It's driving me nuts!!

OK, so one night I was playing the game Lode Runner, Bejeweled, and Pacman. It was fully charged. I played until 10% was left. Then, I set it on my iHome. The next night, I can't get the game to fit the screen. Like a 1/2 in. from the left if you have the click wheel in your right hand. I turned it off for 24 hours and that didn't work. So far, you have described the standard Dock symbols for Console utility and Terminal Utility.
If you did not deliberately add them to the Dock, something you did seems to have opened these two Applications so that their icons are showing on the Dock.
That may be perplexing, but is not a cause for alarm.

I must be retarded because this is simple - a line is scanned - it's parsed into an integer and it's supposed to go through some if/else statements and change my variables based on what my input is -

Java does not dynamically change your variables.
int x = 10;
int y = x;
x = 50;At the end of this code y will still be 10 even though the value of x has changed. That is what you are doing. You initially assign some value to result but then it never changes even though some of the other variables in the code have been changed.

I should mention it is ios 6.1.3. The phone has now also started, after rebooting, showing the signal bars next to the wifi signal icon at the top but no "Sprint" type next to the bars as usual. And then after a few minutes it shuts down, shows the black screen with the white apple in the middle for a few moments, comes back up with the Waiting for Activation message, the signal bars pop up and the whole cycle just repeats itself.

Try a reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone should reboot.

PLEASE HELP. you don't have write access for your itunes media folder or a folder within it

I am using Windows 7. If it makes a difference, my OS and important programs run on an SSD, while eveyrthing else is on a larger HDD. For awhile now I have had this problem anytime I try to do things in iTunes like import a CD, or a blu-ray digital copy. It gives me this error "you don't have write access for your itunes media folder or a folder within it windows 7." I have read tons of articles on how to change file permissions in windows and give full control and all that stuff. I swear I have read and tried anything remotely close to a solution for my issue, and it just wont fix it. Anyone have any out of the box ideas aside from changing permissions on the iTunes folder?
Also, when I make a new user account on my PC, the fresh iTunes on that account works just fine. So I don't know whats going on. Any help is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

Once you successfully add you iTunes library to iTunes Match, you go to Settings>iTunes & App Store on your iOS device and turn on iTunes Match. Your iTunes Match library will then appear on your iOS device.
