Please help, I HATE Apple right now!

Hi everyone, I'm really at my wit's end here. I am a poor student, made even poorer with my purchase of an iMac in January to help me with my course. I was in love with the machine til March, when it started to switch itself off intermittently, a problem that has been widespread among mid 07 iMacs. Here's where the problems started...
I sent the machine away for repair, but only after spending about £20 of phone credit on the support line. My big problem is I don't have access to a land line. Anyway, the machine came back and all they'd done in the 2 weeks they had it, according to the work sheet, is change the power supply. Then 3 weeks later, the problems started again, only this time the machine started getting more noisy as well.
I put off sending it back again, because I needed the machine for my digital animation project, and the resetting problem would only occur very infrequently. Over the months the problems have become more prominent, and now I have finished my course I want to send it off for repair, but I refuse to have the same thing happen again, and that includes spending a fortune on the phone bill! So, I called Applecare earlier, and the conversation went:
ME: Before we start, can you call me back as I don't have access to a land line and already paid £100 for my warranty
THEM: I'm afraid we don't do outbound calls
ME: What? I want to speak to a supervisor please
THEM: (sighs) one second (HOLD MUSIC)
After about 2 minutes I put the phone down, I'm not holding for 5 minutes only to have the supervisor say the same thing.
So fellow Apple owners, what can I do? Can I email someone who has a bit of authority and beg/demand/seek sympathy? Or do I HAVE to call them, and hope someone will phone me back? Sorry it's a very long post but I just wanted to give you some background so you got a sense of the trouble I, and probably numerous others, have had. It might even make someone think twice about buying an Apple machine. I certainly hope so, because I'll definitely be selling mine after it's repaired, my love affair with Apple quickly turned sour.

Welcome to Apple discussions.
I think I would be frustrated as well. Call Applecare and ask to speak to customer relations (not technical support). Explain your well documented problem to them and ask for warranty support (If it were me, I think I would request a replacement computer).

    You can create an Apple ID without a credit card by following this guide exactly: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2534.  Note that you have to start by downloading a free app, then create the ID.

    Hi, I bought my MacBook Air  in your store. In the summer of 2012. My mac is included in the program MacBook Air Flash Storage Drive Replacement Program. I live in Russia. I called the Russian support Apple. They told me to bring mac to an authorized service center. An authorized service center I was told to wait 45 days of the new flash storage drive. It's very long for me. I can `t wait long. I work on a Mac. I do not have another computer. Russian support Аpple does not want to help me. Can you help me?     Leaving you without a computer for 45 days isn't acceptable. Call Apple and ask for a loaner or replacement. Some people have been receiving them.
    If you still have no luck, then consider getting a USB 3.0 HDD and installing and running OS X on it until the replacement part is in.

    Use another device (Mac, Macbook) to reset your Apple ID...just had a similar experience.

    My Firefox updated about two hours ago. When I tried to open it after the update, it crashed and so I chose to start a new session. Now it won't open and I get a message saying "Firefox has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution to this problem... Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." Please help.

    Have you tried closing the iTunes store app via the multitasking bar and seeing if it works when you re-open it
    Have you tried closing the app via the taskbar ? (I assume that your iPad is on iOS 6, though the version that your tagline shows, 6.1.6, is not a version for iPads) From the home screen (i.e. not with iTunes store app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the iTunes app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
    If that doesn't fix it then you could try a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

    I recevied an iPhone 5 as a gift in the month of january from my friend from US. Am in INDIA and am using it in INDIA only. It was perfectly working fine until i upgraded it to ios 7 beta version through a third party. i saw one of my fried doing this and it was working fine for his device. So out of curiosity i too tried d same as a result of which my device just showed me an apple LOGO and after that nothing happend. I got worried and called the customer support people. They adviced me to downgrade it to ios 6.1.4 using the factory resetting option. I did the same as they directed me to do. the phone was successfully restored. Now here comes the problem. The device says that "this iphone has been activated with t****@icloud.com, so please enter that valid id. If i enter my apple id it returs an error stating that this [email protected] cannot be used to activate this phone. but other than this particular id if i give any other id it throws "Invalid Id or Password".  One of the Customer support person told me that this cannot be replaced in INDIA, you need to send it to US to get it replaced. I tried this option as well. The person from US said that this device cannot be replaced as this one is a software issue, and he suggested me to wait till ios7 gets released. I called the customer support people again and they said that this might be due to the software corruption so please do wait till ios 7 gets released and after that resotring the device to factory settings it must work. Now i restored the device using factory restoring to ios 7. My device has been restored to ios 7. But still i am facing the same issue. Really frustrated to the core. can someone help me fix this. Now the customer support person is telling to send the device to US again and have a check with them. jun, july, august and spet. 4 months of no iphone and its just lying as a toy inside my cupboard which is of no use. Frrl like crying.the customer support people in INDIA told me that there is an option of paid replacement in INDIA for the software issues, but he is not sure whthr this option is available in US. So please someone tell me what can be done, am ready for the paid replacement as well.

  • I am really hating Apple right now. Where is my Time Machine backup?

    OK, kinda a long story. Pardon the ranting, but if feels like everything is going wrong and I'm getting pretty tired of it.
    I was going along nicely with my Mac. Then I had a time-sensitive iMovie project that was going totallly screwy. I ended up buying Lion hoping that would fix the problem. It didn't spent several more hours trolling forums and figured out it was a weird problem with the software.
    So... then I was stuck with Lion. Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Rosetta Stone, etc. don't work on it. Not cool. Would have been nice if I was warned before doing this. So, I figured I'd go back in my Time Machine backup. However, I was really busy and didn't get to it until a few weeks later. I'd never actually used Time Machine, but when I went into it I was astonished to find that it backed up on the hour, filling up the external hard drive so it only kept backups for a few weeks. And of course, it was too late to backup to my old OS. So not cool. Who in the world needs an hourly backup??? I'd much prefer a weekly backup a little further back. That's just absurd.
    So, anyway, I had the old Time Machine backup. I figured if I messed up, I could always restore to the recent Lion backup. So, I restored to Snow Leopard from the disk, wiping the hard drive. Then, I tried to go in and get my files off of the external hard drive/Time Machine backup. It didn't recognize I even had an external hard drive plugged in.
    So... I decided to go back to Lion, maybe I needed to be in Lion to access the Lion backup. Spent hours putting Lion back on. And... still doesn't even recognize that there's an external hard drive plugged in. What gives?
    I've been trying to think of what all could be the problem here. Did I just think I was backing up to the external hard drive this whole time, when really I was backing up to the computer? No, because it would send me reminders when the external hard drive wasn't plugged in. Is the cord or something broken to the external hard drive? I suppose it's possible, but just a few hours before I saw the Time Machine backups... And there is power to it.
    Please help! I don't know how all my data was lost!

    OK, solved my own problem, but am posting here in case someone else has the same problem. It totally does not make sense, especially considering that it stopped after I reinstalled Lion, but the good thing is I have my files back.
    I scoured the web and found a lot of other people are having the same problem. Most of them didn't have a clue how to fix it. This discussion was the most helpful to me: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2569766?start=30&tstart=90
    So, I went to the WD page and followed the instructions. The first suggestion was to plug it directly into a wall, because it may not be getting enough power from a power cord. I did this and it fixed the problem. Who would have guessed?

    Reinstall iTunes from Apple's website. Reinstalling iTunes does not wipe your library, but you should have a backup regardless.

    What PSU is that and what are the ratings of that PSU ? See the label on the side.
    Are you trying to use the onboard graphics?

    please check SDK sample 22 Right-Click, there is everything you need.
    First catch RightClickEvent, then create the menu entry when beforeAction = true, and when beforeAction = false you have to remove it again (otherwise you will receive an error when rightclicking again).

  • I AM SO MAD AT APPLE RIGHT NOW!

    Okay in November my earbuds gave static shocks and I talked to an Apple person, they didnt send earbuds. Then it really bugged me and about a month ago I called back and they sent a new pair.
    About two days ago, [WITH MY NEW EARBUDS] my earbuds gave static shocks again.
    Now with my first pair they only shocked in the right earbud if the music was past halfway on volume. Now this pair shocks both ears if the music is anywhere in volume.
    DON'T YOU THINK THAT IF THEY WERE TO SEND A NEW PAIR IT WOULD BE BETTER, NOT WORSE?
    I just send in a request to get a new pair.
    If those pair still give shocks, what should I do? Demand a new iPod and headphones? Demand a refund? Or even SUE Apple? I don't know...
