PLEASE HELP - I need an Apple Care phone number that works in Nepal.

I am at my wit's end. I just moved to Kathmandu, and of course my macbook pro decided to die on me! I have tried an SMC and PRAM reset to no avail, and now there is nothing when I try to turn it on - no whizzing fan or sounds at all. My battery power is at full strength.
I need my computer to do my work as well as to stay connected to Canada, and I am feeling really frustrated that I cannot find ANY number or information on the Apple site, despite Nepal being listed as a participating Apple Care country.
Please, please help!

My macbook refuses to turn on. It started with the fans not functioning properly, and then the display kept on turning black. Now it won't turn on at all. Every time I press the power button it boots up, and I can hear the fan and the corner light goes up but it shuts down after a few seconds. I took the battery out but that did not work. My Apple Care just ran out so I would rather not take it to the Genius Bar.

Normally you can get your files back if you take it to a good enough technician to know how to not touch the files to repair such a situation. If the machine is over 4 years old, the most common reason for the above symptom is a dead PRAM battery or capacitor.
Maybetomorrow,
At very minimum call around to find out if there is a technician in your area who will fix that battery or capacitor without touching your data, or at least will extract the hard drive so you can put it in an external hard drive case and attach to a newer computer.

I suggest plugging your iPhone into a wall socket, and letting it sit for many hours (while connected to WiFi).

“What's that ‘$ORIGIN localhost.’ on the first line? And why has the SOA turned into ‘@.0.0.127.in-addr.arpa.’ ?” Asks a previous discussion. No one seems to know-we only know that when these lines appear, your reverse-lookup gets hosed and BIND doesn't work like it should.
In case anyone cares, you can write your own zone files by hand. I'll translate one here as an example:

both zone files start with the phrase “$TTL 86400”. This stands for “Time To Live”. This tells the domain server how long to cache the records retrieved from the zone file. You could just as easily say “$TTL 1440m” or “$TTL 24h” or “$TTL 1d”. It’s all the same to the server. However, if you want changes that you make to the zone to propagate quickly, you might which to make this time shorter.
The next section is called the SOA, which stands for “start of authority”. The first line declares that zone’s primary domain name is hebb.private, that the class of zone is IN, and that the email address of the person responsible for maintaining the domain is [email protected], with a “.” instead of a “@”.
Then comes the SOA and a series of mysterious lines, all of which are conveniently labeled in English. The serial # is an interesting one. It is used by the BIND demon, which loads the DNS zones at startup. If you change the zone file but do NOT change the serial number, Bind will ignore the changes. This is key. So, how do you write a new one? Fortunately, there is a standard format to these numbers: serial number = YYYYMMDDNN. So the serial number in db.192.168.1 is 2006102400, meaning that it is the first version of this file written on 10-24-2006. If you look at the hebb.private.zone file, you will see that the serial number is 2006102413. This was the 13th version of this file written on 10-24-2006. Ironically enough, it was the one that finally worked. I hope that you never have to use this piece of information, but FYI the maximum number of versions per day is 100.
Below the serial number is a short list that looks like this:

1h; retry
1w; expiry
1h); minimum
These mean pretty much what they look like they should mean. Refresh is how often the BIND will come looking for a new serial number: in this case every 3 hours. If the master DNS server fails to accept changes to the zone-as it will if this file is not written correctly-BIND will Retry every hour. If BIND fails to update the master DNS server with the new zone information, the DNS server will continue to act on the last valid information that it had until its Expiry, which I have set here for 1 week. That’s probably the shortest period of time that I would choose-any shorter and you may or may not have time to catch and correct the changes before dns comes crashing down. The last field, the minimum, has a singular purpose: to cache negative TTL answers. If you take a node offline, but leave its record in the zone file, BIND will continue to query for that node, despite there being no answer. How long BIND continues to query is set here. Unlike the expiry, I would set this value to be something small, because BIND will continue to query and take up system and network resources until it gets an answer, or until the Minimum amount of time passes.
Now that you understand what amounts to the header information in this file, we get into the real meat of it: where it defines the nameserver and lays out the map of the domain. All of this takes place in the lines:

The first line contains the “NS” – the nameserver used to lookup a domain. The next line begins a series of lines, each of which are “A” record that is used to link the fully qualified domain name to an IP address. In the reverse map, db.192.168.1, you will see, instead of “A” record, “PTR”:

PTR stands for “DNS Pointer”, and makes reverse-mapping possible.
Now that you know what you’re looking at, you can begin to see how straightforward it is to edit a zone by hand. You can change any of these values, change the serial number and wait for BIND to come around and refresh in 3 hours. Or, you can stop and restart the nameserver using the following commands:
$ sudo serveradmin stop dns
$ sudo serveradmin start dns
BIND should come around looking for the zone file. If it doesn’t, you can call:
# named –f
Named reads the default configuration of /etc/named.conf, which will direct it to look in the zone files for configuration information. If you are having major troubles with DNS, run named in the foreground with the highest level of debugging possible, level 9:
# named –g -d 9
You can also redirect the output to a file for easier inspection:
# named –g -d 9 >& /tmp/named.out &

To download any photos that were on your My Photos Stream, then you will need to have Photo Streamed turned on within your computer. Keep in mind that My Photos Stream only holds the last 30 days of photos and those will be the only one that will download. Check out the articles below for more information for the process and general information about getting your photos downloaded.

Sorry, but without a backup in iCloud or iTunes on your computer, your data is gone and can't be restored anymore.

Alright guys, I have been through 3 different plugs to connect my iphone to my car to play music, and I am a bit ticked. So i figured I would ask the Apple Discussion Boards so you guys can tell me the best audio/charger combo for my iPhone. Here is what happened with each of my previous plugs...
The first one was just a regular ordinary headphone plug that plugged from my iphones headphone slot to my car's auxiliary slot. It worked for a while but then the audio only started coming out through the right side of my car speakers occasionally, and I know for sure it is not my car that made the problem because my radio and CD's play fine through both speakers.
The second one is a "Kensington LiquidAUX Auxiliary Car Kit with Remote for iPod and iPhone". First off the remote that it came with didn't work properly. But here comes the worse part that is so annoying. This problem got progressively worse by the way.... a lot of times the plug would think that it unplugged itself for some strange reason and the music would stop as well as the charging, but then 1 millisecond later it would think it was plugged back in, and although it starts charging again, the music doesn't play again until I press play. Don't tell me to make sure it is plugged in securely because trust me my friends, I have tried everything possible to get this to work. Keep in mind I am driving...so it is a very bad idea to be messing with my phone to press the play again. And lately it has been getting so bad that I actually have to unplug the plug from my iphone and then plug it back in and press play, which is incredibly annoying. This happens about once a minute OR MORE now a days. Also, it makes a really annoying "whirrling" sound whenever I am using it. By the way, I even turned Airplane mode on, and the exact same problems still happened. So a summary of this: this audio/charger combo is a failure.
My 3rd plug I decided to try a normal headphone to aux plug again like the first except this time by a better brand, Griffin. But oh wait, the exact same problem happened that the first one had.
Ok guys, so what I really want for you to do for me is PLEASE HELP ME FIND A GOOD CAR PLUG FOR MY iPHONE.
Here is what I am looking for in my plug:
Plays music through my car's speakers AND charges at the same time;
I would prefer if it wasn't an FM transmitter because those tend to lose audio quality compared to direct plugins, unless you know of an amazing FM transmitter where you don't lose audio quality;
And finally, I want my plug to ACTUALLY WORK WITHOUT GLITCHES
Also, it would be nice if the plug that you refer to me, you actually own, so I know that you have tested it out before and that it works great.

i thought about going the same route you did, but when I started looking at the prices of everything, I decided it was a better idea to just get a new stereo that can play and charge my iPhone.
After a lot of comparing, looking and price checking, I decided to go with the Alpine IDA-X100. This is a media player only device (no cd player built in) and it has been great. It has an awesome interface and dial setup that let's you go through your music just as if it were on an iPod. It even has a small color screen that displays the album artwork for you. My car has a factory BOSE system in it and the Alpine head unit even managed to improve the sound quality. Go see you local alpine dealer (or best buy) and check it out. The supplied cable charges the phone and plays music too. Your iPhone will give you an error message when you plug it in, saying that the accessory was not designed for iPhone, but if you just click no it works great.

You may need to update your MacBook Air with your new Apple ID password.
OS X Mountain Lion and later: Open the Messages app, select Messages > Preferences, then click the Accounts icon.
If you signed out before changing your Apple ID password, click Accounts and enter your current Apple ID to sign in.
If you're still signed in with your previous Apple ID password, click Accounts, then select your previous Apple ID from the list of accounts. Click Sign Out, then click Sign Out again when asked to confirm. Enter your current Apple ID to sign in.
