Please Help - I reset my MacBook!
Please help me! I got this MacBook as a gift.
I reset it to factory settings so I could start it from scratch and make it my own.
In resetting it, I had to buy Lion OS X, which is fine.
But big problem.. I can't use the redemption code because i can't access the macbook appstore because I am still stuck on the disk utility screen.
Someone please help me with this issue, i've been trying to solve this for hours!

You may need to update your MacBook Air with your new Apple ID password.
OS X Mountain Lion and later: Open the Messages app, select Messages > Preferences, then click the Accounts icon.
If you signed out before changing your Apple ID password, click Accounts and enter your current Apple ID to sign in.
If you're still signed in with your previous Apple ID password, click Accounts, then select your previous Apple ID from the list of accounts. Click Sign Out, then click Sign Out again when asked to confirm. Enter your current Apple ID to sign in.

Please help me! My MacBook was stolen along with an external hard drive that had all my photos of my children on them. I hadn't backed to iCloud or backed anywhere else. I am distraught. No find my mac either...help...please... Some programmes are still running like drop of and Skype... Is it all over?!?
Yes, the Old Master file has a folder for each year where I find all photos from that specific year. I am attaching a screen shot of the file.
In the meantime i have managed to download all photos (it did not download any video files though in mpg, avi, 3gp, m4v,mp4 and mov format) to a new iphoto library. Unfortunately the photos are quite mixed and often doubled up. I ma considering to purchase iphoto library which checks all duplicates in iphoto. this will save me a lot of time. What do you think? -

Welcome to the Canon Forum.
Some menu options are not available when the camera is set to the Full Auto mode. Turn the Mode Dial to P, Tv, Av or M, then search for the option you are looking for in the menu.

The reset link, as described in steps 1 to 5 on this page, will only show if you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account. If you don't have one then go to (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you won't get the reset option - you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.

My macbook will not stay on without being plugged in. I had my macbook for about 3 years and the battery had less than 200 cycles on it and the computer suddenly would not stay on unless plugged in (went from holding about 1.5 hr charge to not holding charge at all). I purchased a new battery and this battery has 118 cycles on it. It is doing the same thing. When I unplug it the computer shuts off immediately. It will not stay in sleep mode either. What should I do? I assumed that it was because I tend to leave the computer plugged in so that the cycles stay low, but after only 118 cycles? (and the new battery is less than 8 months old). Could my computer be failing to register the battery? Please help me - I don't want to have to spend another $80 on a battery. (Just so you know, I have removed the battery and made sure the connection is good but this did not help.)
If your problems with the new battery are the same as the old battery, it would seem your Mac isn't charging the battery properly.
Perhaps it's a Magsafe/charger issue.
Read through the power section of this User tip here, try everyting, including the SMU Reset and see if that makes any difference.

Please help. My charged MacBook Pro won't turn on.
I've only had my MacBook for like a month. I charged it to 100% and now it won't turn on. Not even the button you push to see how much it's charged on the side will turn on. When I plug my charger in the light is super dim. Can someone please help? Its the 13 inch.

its been a couple days now since my macbooks been playing up someone please help me. ive got firefox, google chrome etc none of them are loading facebook every other websites works fine, facebook takes 5 minutes to load and it goes to a mobile website without loading anyone know why? im using a macbook pro 2011 with ios 10.6.8
Make sure your Java and Flash are up to date from http://www.java.com/ and http://www.adobe.com/
Clear your cookies for Facebook as long as you remember the password for it.
Try a different web browser * if none of the above work. -
Please Help!!! Macbook Pro Won't Boot Up
I purchased a new Unibody Macbook Pro about 2 months ago, and I haven't had any problems with it up til now. When I power it on, it stays at the white startup screen with the Apple logo, and the spinning loading circle. After a few mins, I touched the trackpad, and a grey background comes up and it says "You need to restart your computer. Hold down the Power button until it turns off, then press the Power button again" Of course I did this, and it just does the same thing. Please Help!! Thanks in advance.
That is a kernel panic. They can be caused by software or hardware. If there are any devices connected to the computer, disconnect them and try again. If not, insert the install disk that came with the computer and start up from it.
When the disk in is, click the Apple and select Restart. Once the screen is black, hold the C key until you see the spinning gear under the Apple logo.
Hopefully, it will boot to the install disk. If you get another kernel panic during this process, the issue is hardware and you will need to have the computer serviced.
If it boots, select English and go to the next screen. Stop there. Click Utilities from the top of the screen and open Disk Utility. Select the hard drive on the left and run Repair Disk. This will check for any disk errors.
Post back your results. -
Please HELP! Fixing My MacBook Pro after I accidentally dropped it
Hi there, I dropped my MacBook pro earlier and I went online and read some discussions on how to fix it. So I checked my data utility, it says 'Verified' on SMART status, does this mean that my hard drive is okay and all my files are still there?
Then I clicked on 'repair disk' under the First Aid bar, it says "Some information was unavailable during an internal look up", can someone please help me explaining what this means?
Then I followed the Apple instructions page http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1440 to use Time Machine to back up my files as my has possible, but at the time I proceed to 'select a backup source', it shows nothing but just "Searching for time machine backups......" below on the screen. What does this mean?
I really need my laptop to come alive, and I'm not that tech-savvy, I'd really appreciate your help! Thanks!!!!Can you open Disk Utility? (Boot off of an install CD -- 10.6 or below, or the rescue partition -- 10.7 and above, and find Disk Utility on your menus) If Disk Utility comes up and your disk is on the left side and it is greyed out, then things are not good for the disk, but just being able to run Disk Utility is a Good Thing because it means that your computer is probably ok.
If the disk appears in disk utility, and it is black, click on it and run "repair disk" (There are 2 buttons -- the verify disk won't fix any problems that it finds, so go straight to the repair)
If it runs with no errors, or finds errors and successfully repairs them, your data is safe. In the case of a successful repair, always run verify again. Sometimes it has to repair 2, 3, 4 or more times before it goes through and finds nothing wrong.
If it stops during the repair and comes up with a message in red saying that the repair failed, then your disk is probably toast BUT -- the fact that your computer is running the Disk Utility indicates that your machine is still fine and can be brought to life with a new disk. Sometimes you can get the data off of the old disk.
How techie are you, and is your machine one that you can open up and replace the disk yourself? If it is, then you need to look for instructions on how to replace the disk on your particular model of computer. Or you can take it to a professional to do the swap.
I know the feeling of watching the macbook pro hit the concrete floor -- AACCCKKK!!! But in my case a new disk and a restore from Time Machine and I was back in business. -

Hi guys
I tried the last two days everything from this forum. Run bootcamp, after restart (hold alt) go to the mac HD and delete or replace the bootcamp device (tried both options). had it almost done, at the end when it was installing/finnishing windows the error code "could not prepare the computer to boot into the next phase...... " and of course after that the "no bootable device insert boot disk and press any key boot camp".
Please help me to fix this thing!

I purchased my MacBokk Pro a little over a year ago brand new from an Apple store. As of a few month ago it refuses to do a software update. It says it cant connect because of a network problem, but when I run a network diagnostic it says there is no problem. Please help meNo specific update.
