I will tell you what happened... Here i go
Ok tonight i sent an im over aim to somebody and they said i sent a link which i didnt and i send another im to another person and they also said i sent a link which i didnt. So i dont know what this is, is it a trojan horse, a virus, or just a worm? I would think it would be a trojan horse. But i asked them what did the link say and they sent it back to me but it didnt register. And she told me that she sent it... Andi didnt think about it being a virus/trojan/worm untill she exited out of the window. Well i asked her what the link was and she said she didnt know. So it i told her if she gets the link again just send it back to me with out the .com so it wouldnt be a link. I am worried that i got one b/c this is the first time this has happened to me since i had my expensive imac. I am running a mac os x version 10.3.9. And i ran a virus scan for my apps with ClamXav so far there hasnt been a virus detected. Can someone PLEASE help me becuase when i tell my dad he is going to kill me if i dont fix it....

This is one of the oldest tricks in the virus writer's bag. When one of these infected e-mails hits a Windows computer, the virus/worm/Trojan automatically copies itself to every person in their address book. At the same time, it uses any one of those names to spoof the "from" address to make it look like it came from somewhere else. So it's an almost 100% certainty that the virus they got came from someone else's computer whom you know who has your e-mail address in their address book. I've gotten such stuff with my own address as the sender. Meaning that I know it came from one of my relatives, friends, or someone else who has my e-mail stored in their address book in Windows.

I've got a WRT54GX2 that I used for 2 years with no problems.
I recently tried to set up network with different IP DSL (Bellsouth).
The problem is the computer can not "locate" wireless router. Is this due to the Westell modem not being "bridged".***Note: Make sure that the modem is Bridged and the router is set-up to the Instructions I first gave you. If you still have the issue then follow the below steps. At this point you should find out what is your,
IP Address =
Default Gateway =
Subnet mask =
and provide us with that information.
You can get this info by clicking on Start>>Run>>type "cmd">>click ok, now a black command prompt box will open, type in ipconfig /all
You should see an IP address and default gateway of 192.168.x.xxx
you should see a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0
At this time you should power cycle your router and then the modem by removing the power cable from the router, then remove the power cable from the modem. Wait about 60 seconds and plug in the modem and them plug in your router. wait till all the lights on the modem and router are back on. try to connect.
If it still does not work and the IP address is not what I stated, then you will need to reset the modem by holding in the reset button on back of the router for 30 seconds, this will bring the router back to the factory defaults and will remove any prior settings.

i went to redtubemobile dot com and it took me to a pornographic site and after that, my facebook app keeps giving me blank pop-up everytime i log into my account. what should i do?? im extremely worried.. by the way on the pop up thing, it said m.facebook dot something so that pop up wasn't a pornographic link. this happeneds EVERYTIME i log into my Facebook account on my Facebook app. The Safari is fine when I go to Facebook..just the FB app by itself is doing this. You need to go to your settings in facebook and change around all the settings there and possibly goto the setting on your iPhone and turn on push messaging for the facebook. But I have been told by many people most who are computer GEEKS lol that since the iphone doesn't have an operating system like a regular computer like Windows and so forth that the iphone can't get a virus. I have had a iPhone for over 4yrs now and several people have gotten on it and went to unspeakable websites and such and I have never had a virus. I thought I did but after doing just a couple things my brother told me to do it was fixed. The very first thing I suggest is to do a soft boot and you should do this like every 4-7 days. At exactly the same time, hold the power button (at the top of phone) and the home button (on bottom of face of phone) down until the phone flashes and goes black. You will see an option to slide to the right to shut off but don't do that, just keep holding until you see the little flash and the phone goes black. Wait about 30-45 seconds and the press both buttons again and you will see the apple sign and wait...don't get nervous it takes a little while for it to reboot and to come back on, it is cleaning itself and organizing everything again. I got worried the first time because it took so long but its normal. You will find that you get better signal and a faster phone. Anyhow, when ever you have other problems BE VERY SPECIFIC and GOOGLE the problem. For instance... "Why am I not recieving push notifications from my facebook on my iphone?" I GOOGLE everything. I hope I helped a little.

URGENT PLEASE HELP! Think I broke my eeprom

after getting a good manual for setting up a RAID-1 on my Netra, I broke something.
I set two new devaliases for the existing hdds. like the manual said.
After rebooting, it said Can't find boot device.
It went to the ok Promt, there I tried a devunset, followed by a reset-all.

ThorstenCouple of things to try. Can you boot off the net or CD/DVD ? I noticed that you have disk and disk0 to be same. You mention that you mirrored root. Do you know what the other disk was ? If so you can try booting the other disk.

As we all know there have been a flooding of posts regarded to newly discovered OS X Viruses and Worms. Do I need to run out and pick up some Anti Virus software or can I still feel relaxed that OS X is untouchable. I understand that it isn't anymore as you can infect your self my installing the so called virus and running it. I never download any files unless I know what they are, but still. Is this the turning point for OS X becoming Windows OS? I run a large network and want to keep everything safe. Of course firewalls run and stuff like that but am I really safe or do I ned to start worrying? I am not aware of any word from Apple has there been any?

Take a deep breath, relax. There has been a huge hype about this "virus", but it really isn't that bad as people think. A lot of people were stunned that there was a piece of malware that effected Macintosh computers. I believe in Classic, there were macro "viruses" that never were really brought to people's attention. You should read some of the past threads about the "viruses", they're have been probably 5 in the past couple of days.

Please help Excite AT305-T16 got hacked - See Video
I just got the Tablet on 01/23/13. I ordered a used one (like new condition) from Amazon Warehouse.
It came very fast within 2 days. Look like the warehouse is in NV state and I am in CA.
I got the tablet S/N:5C043564R.
You have to look at the video to believe me for what was happening.
This tablet has some kind of remote software installed which can monitor what you do as soon as you get on the Internet. At first i thought the tablet seems to be over responsive.
I haven't touched it but it managed to click and move itself.
While I tried to type in the password, the cursor will keep moving from the password field to the other.
I finally got into Gmail App and I was shocked to see what happened to the tablet.
Somebody remotely scroll+touch+zoom+up+down through my emails, trying to find some confidential information.
I didn't believe my eyes.
I did power off the unit and restarted again. As soon as I got into Gmail app, it happens again.
I grabbed my phone to capture what happened and then turn the power button totally off.
4 hrs later, I wonder if it will act the same since I move to another location.
Before I connect the Wi-Fi, I went into Adroid setting and to do the factory reset, hoping to wipe off whatever is.
I almost thought that it did remove those hacker remote thing.
I was so afraid so I went in the App and disable GMAIL app and LogMein App.
Then I went to download some Antivirus software on the Google Play. I installed Lookout and Zapper Task Killer, hoping that I would kill or see what is running behind. Everything seems to be normal at that moment.
I installed and signup on other app like Netflix and Skype. Again I was having a hard time while entering the password because the cursor kept moving out of the password field by itself.
I finally went into email this time via PrintShare App.
Again I can see somebody has remotely scroll up & down and looked into my emails. Try to find something.
It does finally stop at the email that have my info, which my full name and address on it.
I could not believe my eyes. The chill was running down my back.
This is the real criminal here.
I am sending this tablet back for sure.
I just want to give a warning to the other user who might have bought the used tablet.
PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS REMOTELY WATCHING YOUR TABLET HACKER

I opened it, charged it and used it for about 20 minutes. All was fine. Thursday morning I turned it on and started using it to check my email and watch some news. About 20 minutes into it the thing starts bugging out. Mine is acting similar to yours, but my tablet keeps showing the menu, as if someone were pressing the very top right corner where the dotted drop down menu appears. It sucks, but it's kind of funny because I did the same thing you did. I put it on my wood desk and took a video of it clicking non stop, I used a wood desk so nobody could claim it may be some type of static issue.. Menu , no menu , Menu , no menu, over and over and very fast. I never even had a chance to download any apps other than putting the info in for my gmail account. I emailed the seller on ebay and they said contact Toshiba. I called Toshiba, and although I have nothing bad to say about Toshiba they told me to tell the seller to take the item back. I think the Toshiba rep that posted on your issue hit it dead nuts. I just figured I'd share, I know I am not helping you other than letting you know that there is someone else out here with the same issue. Good luck, with yours..

Where did you get your Firefox? You should get the program from
'''Mozilla.org'''. If you got it from somewhere else, it may have been hacked.
Try to remove all of those programs using the Win Uninstaller.

Please help, I think there's sth wrong with my Mac pro
I just bought my Mac pro 2 months ago. And I just got it back from repairing 2 days ago :-<.
This is how it happened, I shut it down after 2 weeks keep using and then put on sleep mode everynight when I was not using it. I shut it down before, and everything was normal until the last time, when I turn it back on , I could hear the noise which shows me that it's working, but too bad, the screen didn't show up. I brought it to the store and they said it was stuck on sleep mode. Then they fixed it, they replaced units logic board under MFG ( i have no idea what it is).
I thought it would be fine from now on , but no , something wrong happened just 10 minutes ago. The laptop ask me to update as usual, it turns my screen down, put on the updating stuff...it was loading and suddenly the screen was shut off , turn into black :| ....and there comes the noise, sound like the fire alarm ( but smaller) >"<.....then it was totally shut down by itself, I waited for 5 minute, then I push the power button. I hear the sound from the laptop again shows that it was running, for like 5 second later it turns off by itself, then turn on .....all by itself, I didn't do anything. It keep turn on, turn off like that for like 3 times.... Then the screen shows up with Apply logo and the loading bar below it. Then it was going half way then turning off ...again :|..... I wait for 2,3 minutes, still nothing happens...I turn it on again, and this time it is back to normal @@

It came to you with some other regular software updates. The Installer for the Firmware Update is very unusual. But it does just about what you described ... restarts several times, one time a Beeping noise, one time a Progress Bar.
If your MacBook seems to be working OK now, you do not have anything to worry about. -
I got my iPhone 4s screen fixed, now in my Photos it shows nothing, although in my memory usage it shows 10.5gb of photos, thats 2000 photos not showing up. What happened?! Where did all my photos go?!
WOOHOO!!! i finaly fixed the problem. Here is what to do:
Chances are if you did the same thing as me you either have
A) No album names at all for ALL your songs in your library
or
B) Have the same name for every album for ALL your songs in your library.
Here is how to fix it (yah it will take a little work but its worth getting your iPod functioning properly).
Unless you dont want to have to go and actualy set al lthe album names for every song here is what you can do:
Go through to iTunes and arange your songs by Artist name. Click the top song for your first artist, hold Shift and click the last song for that same artist (to multi select all the songs for the artist) go into get info and check the Album box. Copy the name of the artist to the Album box and hit ok.
Now when u update your ipod and go into ur Artists section the actual Artist name should show up instead of the song names.
For some reason having the same album name for all your songs messes up the organization of the iPod.
