Hi,
I apologize for reposting the issue, since I've exaushted all my resources and couldn't solve the issue:
Rescue and recovey is stuck at the about screen. I have win 7 on T500...
I've downloaded the full pack of the latest Rescue and Recovery and also tried to re-installed it. I also installed the recommended updates at the download page. I've also tried to disable my free AVG and zonealarm - nothing
I suspect something is in conflict w/ the Help and recovery, similar to the NOD32 incompatibility,
but I really don't have any idea how to debug this.
PLEASE HELP, I would kindly appreciate it

please can anybody help me...
I am using iTunes 5.0.1.4 on Windows XP with service pack 2.
Today I restarted iTunes and the library is empty. All music gone, all playlists gone.
I checked the FAQs and older articles and tried everything (reloading the itl file etc.), but nothing worked. Seems when restarting iTunes has overwritten the itl file with an empty one.
The iTunes Folder is still there with all MP3s still in it. So I could just let iTunes read the folder and by this rebuild the library.
But what about the playlists? I had almost a hundred different playlists, and now they are all gone.
I exported the library to an XML file a few weeks ago and made a backup copy of this. Now tried to import it again. iTunes did so, but it just added the names of the playlists to its list - however, they are all empty!
What am I doing wrong? And how can I get the playlists back?

PC Windows XPMake sure your importing the XML file correctly.
Close iTUnes, goto My Music>iTunes folder and delete BOTH the xml and itl file.
Now open iTUnes and import the backup XML file you have by going to File>import and selecting the XML file from backup -

I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store because of the shock issue. I doubt it was caused by the update.

I made some amendments to my colour settings in PS CS5 and now everything prints black and white. Please help me to reset all the settings to default. This was after I tried to implement the steps set out in Real World Photoshop CS5. I stuggele to match the colours of my two screens, the one a laptop and the other a LCD and the printer, even after calibration with Spyder 3. Really lost at present.
Tap Settings / Wi-Fi. Tap the blue circle with an arrow to the right of your network then tap: Forget This Network.
Restart the iPad. Tap Settings / Wi-Fi. Tap the network name again then type in your password.

And try turning off your router for 5 minutes, then turn it back on. Try typing in the password again. -

Thanks.Agree with Billy, exception handling is not something that is done by passing parameters around.
PL/SQL, like other languages, provides a suitable exception handling mechanism which, if used properly, works completely fine. Avoid misuing PL/SQL by trying to implement some other way of handling them. -

Having the imei won't help you find your phone.
If you setup and enabled find my phone prior to losing it then go to icloud.com
If you didn't set it up - then there nothing you can do.

Please help. At work we have netgear and tplink. Since I updated my mini iPad and iPhone 4S with ios 7wifi drops all the time. What is the problem?
Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

I assume you know where your catalogue file (the lrcat file) is located. In the same folder is a previews lrdata folder which you should delete or rename in Explorer, then start LR again.
If I've made incorrect assumptions above, sorry, and we'll go back over it from the start.

Ok so heres the story, I have my friends macbook pro model#A1226. He bought the laptop from someone else. After having it a couple weeks (and it worked just fine, no problems whatsoever) we tried to install full tilt poker on it and relized that it had a password which would not allow us to download anything without having it (this is weird to me that we didnt have to have a password to access the whole system but just to install stuff, weird). At that time we did not have access to an operating system disk (we were told that for this computer its 10.5) and were told that we could re-install and that would reset the password. So.... I did something I should not have done. I looked up online how to bypass the password. I found a post, http://theappleblog.com/2008/06/22/reset-os-x-password-without-an-os-x-cd/ that told me to access terminal (on load up after "chime" sound to push apple+s) than type "mount -uw /" and hit enter. Than type "rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone" and hit enter and than "shutdown -h now" and hit enter to restart. They said that this would create a new admin account and I would be able to delete the previous admin account with the password this way. Well....this may have worked except I typed the code in wrong, instead of "rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone" I missed a space and typed "rm/var/db/.AppleSetupDone". After I typed it in wrong I still gave it the command to shutdown and when I restarted it loaded up to the grey apple screen with the thinky wheel thingy and was frozen there. It will stay like that for about 5 min and then restart itself and do the exact same thing. I found a friend who had the Mac OS X 10.5 disk and borrowed it from him but putting the disk in does nothing, I have tried pushing and holding the "C" after the chime and "C+ctrl" and no difference. Is there a way I can format everything through the terminal (since this is the only thing I can access) or does someone know a trick of some other code to type in to reset everything or did I fry the Hard Drive or what? And we dont care about saving anything on the computer, we just want it to work. Someone please please help. This is my friends computer and Im an idiot for messing with stuff I dont understand. Your post was hard to follow, but, for openers, very few people should EVER use terminal commands. As you have found out, you can screw a system up badly.
So much for the lecture.
OS X requires a system administrator password when anyone tries to install software that will affect the operating system. This is an Apple security feature that keeps people from, hopefully, doing dumb things to their system.
You cannot use a "friends" disk on a system that differs from your own.
Bottom line, you need to reinstall the operating system (whatever came with the system). If it is OS X 10.5, you could do an archive and install.
There is no way that I know of to undo the damage caused by entering the arcane terminal commands.
