Please help, I want to scrap my 02 wireless box for health reasons

Hi all
Does anyone know if its possible to run a cable from my phone line to the back of my imac or do i have to use a modem?
I have searched the net but have found little information?
any help would be much appreciated

It's not really that technical though. You need to enter a configuration page that will tell your router, (wireless box), how to behave. It may not actually be possible though, as O2 don't actually make wireless boxes-they buy them in and rebadge them, so they may have asked the company they buy them from to limit their functionality. But for what I am about to tell you let's assume that you can;First off though we need to know who really makes the box. Look for other names on it.
You'll probably find an IP address on a label on the bottom of the unit. If you open a browser like Safari and type that in you'll very likely be asked for a username and password to enable you to make changes, (default ones are one the list I linked to). Usually the changes you might make are things like changing the wireless channel or security.
You need to look for an option to turn transmitter/wireless/radio off.
