Please help identify Unknown hardware

Can someone please help me to identify a peice of hardware. On The front it says Digital Data Storage, there is the number 3 as well and underneath it says model # 611. I know its a type of storage device but i cant find any documentation. If someone could help i would be very grateful

It is a DDS3 tape drive in a type 611 chassis shell.
If I recall correctly, that chassis shell is also referred to as a Unipak.
You could use if for making backups of your filesystems.
It will be a Single-Ended SCSI device, so you'd need a SCSI adapter card to make it work.
The mechanical components of the tape drive were actually from HP.
(there are only two or three tape drive manufacturers, who make them for everyone)
Each DDS3 tape cartridge can hold approximately 12GB of information; more if file compression software is used.
I cannot give you links to Sun references for that entire assembly,
access to that portion of the SSH requires a service contract,
but <u>this link is for the drive mechanism</u>, itself.

Please help, I can't find the problem. Am on windows 8 for a while now and I check my event viewer from time to time and I found several error massages that exists in my event viewer and the latest was while watching a movie on windows media player here the details. Please help: severe software/ hardware falure

Ok, i did a wireless update to my curve 8530, after the update the phone was not working properly, so i reloaded original software, the latest on desktop software. Halfway throgh the update, my phone rebooted and the screen turned white and it sayed APP ERROR 523/reset, i clicked reset and it keeps hapenning please help!!!!!!!!!

Please help identify a license plate from photo...

Hi all. I'm trying to help out a friend who was in a motorcycle accident identify the car that hit him. The police didn't get any info from the woman who hit him before she left the scene. All he has to go on is a camera phone pict taken by a passer-by. As you can see from the photo, the accident was fairly serious. The car in question is the white car parked at the curb on the right (the woman that hit him is walking to the driver door). I tried my best with no luck, but I thought maybe this community would have more luck. Any help is appreciated...thanks.

Hi, just now my computer just popped out an error message saying that "You need to restart your computer". I was able to power the iMac back (and i'm typing from my iMac). I did some research about it and it has something to do with the kernel panic..either hardware or software. Since i was able to power back my iMac, i supposed it was software-related problem? Here's the log from /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/
I'm sorry it was quite long and i have no idea how to attach the text file which i have saved. What could be the problem here? And any suggestions to avoid this from happening again? My heart skipped a beat just now.. Hopefully it was no something serious such as hardware problems..

Please help: An unknown error occurred (1418)

I have several iPods and have used them basically trouble-free for years. Last night though, my 1st Generation ipod, after coming home after being away for a month, "died" after synching to my mac-mini. I went through the 5 Rs, but have no success in retsoring the Nano even to the original settings. The restore process via iTunes fails, giving the error message 1418. The unit has not been dropped or abused, but the only thing that has changed is an update to itunes and quick time on the mac mini. Any help is appreciated, as it appears my warranty expired while on vacation....

Try using Firefox instead of Safari, and install the following two free plugins:
1. Flip4Mac quicktime plugin
2. MediaWrap firefox plugin
The first will allow Quicktime to play back Windows media files (which is what you've got here), and the second interprets the "application/x-oleobject" MIME type and invokes Quicktime appropriately. (On a PC, the type "application/x-object" invokes an ActiveX control, which is a piece of Windows binary code.)

I am trying to upload photos to an outside vender and it requires JAVA (which I must not have the latest version of because the site directed me to install it). I am using Mac OS X version10.5.8. If I choose About Java Preferences it says I have Java 6 Standard Edition version 12.9.0. Please tell me how to find the correct update. Thanks so much for your assistance.

The final Java update for Leopard was Update 10, 29 June 2011 - This release updates J2SE 5.0 to 1.5.0_30, and updates Java SE 6 to 1.6.0_26. J2SE 1.4.2 is no longer being updated to fix bugs or security issues and remains disabled by default in this update. Support for out-of-process Java applets on Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard has been removed with this update.

Please Help! Unknown Compiling Error!!!

Hi there,
Really hope someone can help me with this! Seems like problems are bound to happen when you leave projects to the last minute for some reason.
Basically I am getting "Error compiling movie: unkown error" when i try to make my 7 minute video using an h.264 codec. The footage is 1440x1080 shot from a canon XH-A1. but is composed of many third party video clips as well. It also has after effects compostions that are dynamic linked over. I have checked for empty spaces, tried importing into a new sequence and project, and it seems the projects fails each time at around the 3/4 point.
Here is the kicker, I have been able to go through and make individual files for different parts of my project when I seperate them into different sequences (I was trying to find a corrupt file). I have also restarted the comp etc. numerous times.
ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

Check for hardware issues
Try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good. Also, confirm your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers. If you still see the alert when you update or restore, contact Apple support.
Common errors: 1, 10-47, 1002, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1000-1020.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

If you're using it in bright light, you may be getting sunlight through the back of the machine which can wash out the display. The Apple logo on the back of the lid is actually a cut-out that uses the systems back light to make it glow. Bright light (especially sunlight) can actually shine through the back. As the users in the login are typically in the middle of the display, this is the area most likely to be washed out as that is where the Apple logo is. You can try just putting your hand over the Apple logo on the back to block the sunlight when trying to log in.
