Please help. im using a macbook pro versian 10.6.8 every website works on the laptop except for facebook for some reason anyone know why?
its been a couple days now since my macbooks been playing up someone please help me. ive got firefox, google chrome etc none of them are loading facebook every other websites works fine, facebook takes 5 minutes to load and it goes to a mobile website without loading anyone know why? im using a macbook pro 2011 with ios 10.6.8
Make sure your Java and Flash are up to date from http://www.java.com/ and http://www.adobe.com/
Clear your cookies for Facebook as long as you remember the password for it.
Try a different web browser * if none of the above work.

Hi guys
I tried the last two days everything from this forum. Run bootcamp, after restart (hold alt) go to the mac HD and delete or replace the bootcamp device (tried both options). had it almost done, at the end when it was installing/finnishing windows the error code "could not prepare the computer to boot into the next phase...... " and of course after that the "no bootable device insert boot disk and press any key boot camp".
Please help me to fix this thing!

As the title says, I thought that both suites are supposed to be free. Am I wrong or is there some way to still get them for free?
Many thanks for answers!If the computer is registered with Apple as new from December 2013, then if you search for the apps to "buy" (Pages, Keynote, Numbers, iMovie, iPhoto, Garageband) in the App store, it SHOULD give you the price as FREE. If it does not, I suggest you contact Apple and ask their advice.

The only possible "glitch" in this is that you were not the original purchaser. Speak to Apple and see what they say - they may be willing to facilitate the download for you. -

Went through this step-by-step, but alas it did not solve the problem. For some reason I can download mail on my Macbook Pro and iPhone, but no my iMac. Connection Doctor shows all green lights. This started today when I was prompted to re-enter incoming mail server passwords. I re-entered passowrds yet again to make sure they were correct. Rebuilt the inBox. Connection Doctor continues to show all green lights, but am still unable to download mail to the inbox. Has anyone else ever run into this problem?
I have the exact same problem trying to use the Remote app on both my iPhone 3gs and iPad 2 with either my Mac or ATV2. My Remote app used to work on my phone - I can't recall if I ever actually used it with my iPad, but when I tried today, I got all the same results as you did (on both iPad, and then iPhone). I was using my ATV2 to play music from iTunes on my Mac and wanted to use the Remote app, but it would not connect to either device no matter what I did.

I am using DVD Studio Pro to create a DVD. The assets total about 2.4GBs using a 4.7 GB disc I still get the error " not enough space on disc" Does anyone know why?

When i load up Photoshop CS6 it loads up the Administrators Account for some reason and it is quiet irritating if someone can help please respond as i would like to continue using Photoshop.
If you are using someone else's computer, then you need to get the Admin to sign in so you can run PS.
If it's your own computer, then you need to know the Admin's password so you can work. Better yet, YOU need to be the Admin. -
I just noticed that I can no longer select photos out of my finder that are located in my Aperture/Iphoto Library. I used to be able to attach photos to my gmail out of the aperture library in the finder and for some reason, no longer can.
I can't access these images except to go into the applications.
Also, I'd like to import my iphoto library into aperture, and move aperture library to an external drive. I tried the import first, but there wasn't enough space. Then I tried copying over the aperture library onto the external drive but it failed bc it said file was in use.
As it is, I only have 50gb left on my imac, and the aperture library is 150gb. Also, I have over 10k images in both libraries combined and there are tons of duplicates that need to be sorted, and hopefully not messed up because I've organized most of them.
So in short, I need to know how to do the following:
-select photos in finder in aperture/iphoto libraries
-move aperture library to live on external drive
-import iphoto library into aperture library
-eliminate dups but maintain organization
-moving forward i need a better workflow so that I import images from camera, and can organize right away into albums rather than creating projects by default and then creating albums so essentially the photos are in 2 different places, even tho they are referenced
-live happily ever after
Thanks in advance for any support you can offer!!If you're using apps like iPhoto or Aperture then they replace the Finder for managing your photos. The point is that you use the (many) options available via these apps for the things you want and need to do with the Photos.
So, simply, you don't select the photos in the Finder. I'll append the supported ways to do this - which are faster and will yield the current version of your Photos - to the end of this post.

Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
1. Quit Aperture
2. Copy the Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching Aperture. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.
Referenced - relocate your Masters first.
These issues are covered in the Manual and on this forum hundreds of times.

You can't. Every photo is in a Project. They’re the basic building blocks of the Library.
You might want to spend a little time with the manual or the video tutorials. I'm not sure you've grasped the app you've purchased.
The following is written for iPhoto, but about 97% works for Aperture too.
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto/ APerture: You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Command-Click for selecting multiple pics. This is what you use to attach your shot to your GMail
(Note the above illustration is not a Finder Window. It's the dialogue you get when you go File -> Open)
You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
There's a similar option in Outlook and many, many other apps. If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto/ Aperture.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
If you want to access the files with iPhoto/ Aperture not running:
For users of 10.6 and later: You can download a free Services component from MacOSXAutomation which will give you access to the Library from your Services Menu.
Using the Services Preference Pane you can even create a keyboard shortcut for it.

In iTunes I click on a song and when I click on the "get info" tab, it opens up but everything is gray - locked, therefore, I cannot edit the year or genre of the songs. Not every song is locked, only certain ones for some reason. Any help?
I ran into the same problem, I think that, If you tab on a song that is on your IPOD, and the song data is grayed-out, I think it means that the song is probably twice on your IPOD and that the iTunes directory can not edit THAT song data for two (or more) files @once. Check if this is the case, sinceI have the same problem,am looking for a way to have One and the same song in more playlists but only keep the song once on the IPOD.

When I open a file it normally opens in 12.5% stated on the header. For some reason, it now opens with 100+% on the header and is much smaller in size. How do I go back to the first option I noted? I use AP to work on blueprints for measuring so the accuracy matters. Any direction would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Are the image all the same size the % files open into a document seems to vary with the number of pixels the image being opened has. Check the Image size.

somebody please know something. for some reason apple doesnt want problems to be settled over email and everything has to be fixed over the phone, but i hate calling people and would rather email. so is there a way or do i have to call them?
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple in your country to get the questions reset - which will be by phone as they need to confirm your id and that it's your account

Help please, when I use my Macbook Pro internet it crashes our XBox Live
When I use the internet at all on my Macbook Pro, wireless, it crashes the games my DF is playing on xbox live through the the same router but with the ethernet. It doesn't do this with his laptop PC. Any ideas?
Most routers have the option to list DHCP devices connected to them ... often you just use your browser and point to http://192.168.1.1 and you'll get it's home page.
And, the Mac's IP number will be showing in System Preferences/Network/Advanced under the TCP/IP Tab, not sure where the XBox would show it's IP# though. -
Please HELP! Fixing My MacBook Pro after I accidentally dropped it
Hi there, I dropped my MacBook pro earlier and I went online and read some discussions on how to fix it. So I checked my data utility, it says 'Verified' on SMART status, does this mean that my hard drive is okay and all my files are still there?
Then I clicked on 'repair disk' under the First Aid bar, it says "Some information was unavailable during an internal look up", can someone please help me explaining what this means?
Then I followed the Apple instructions page http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1440 to use Time Machine to back up my files as my has possible, but at the time I proceed to 'select a backup source', it shows nothing but just "Searching for time machine backups......" below on the screen. What does this mean?

(Boot off of an install CD -- 10.6 or below, or the rescue partition -- 10.7 and above, and find Disk Utility on your menus) If Disk Utility comes up and your disk is on the left side and it is greyed out, then things are not good for the disk, but just being able to run Disk Utility is a Good Thing because it means that your computer is probably ok.
If the disk appears in disk utility, and it is black, click on it and run "repair disk" (There are 2 buttons -- the verify disk won't fix any problems that it finds, so go straight to the repair)
If it runs with no errors, or finds errors and successfully repairs them, your data is safe. In the case of a successful repair, always run verify again. Sometimes it has to repair 2, 3, 4 or more times before it goes through and finds nothing wrong.
If it stops during the repair and comes up with a message in red saying that the repair failed, then your disk is probably toast BUT -- the fact that your computer is running the Disk Utility indicates that your machine is still fine and can be brought to life with a new disk. Sometimes you can get the data off of the old disk.
How techie are you, and is your machine one that you can open up and replace the disk yourself? If it is, then you need to look for instructions on how to replace the disk on your particular model of computer. Or you can take it to a professional to do the swap.
I know the feeling of watching the macbook pro hit the concrete floor -- AACCCKKK!!! But in my case a new disk and a restore from Time Machine and I was back in business.

Drag/Drop playlists between shared PCs via local network.
Prior to Itunes ver 11.0.0.163, I was able to copy thru the drag/drop process a Itunes Home Shared playlist of music files on one computer - to another Home Sharing enabled Itunes playlist, on another computer via local network. How is this done now
