Hi all,
I am a B.Tech (IT) 2010 passed out candidate from Delhi.
Based on my interest, I have done course in SAP ABAP module from following institutes
1. Webcom Technologies (2011)
2. CDAC Noida (2012)
Things were not clicking as I was still unable to find a job.
Since May'13, I am working in a PSU as a Stipendiary Trainee with SAP MM end user profile.
Its almost a year now and need to get a job in SAP ABAP, kindly advice me how to approach ?
-> Should I go for certfication in SAP ABAP, will it be helpful ?
-> Or another advice.
Please help, all my batch mates are now 3-4 years experienced professional & I dont know where I am heading to?

As you have done course for ABAP module. Then what is the problem to get jobs.
Are you not getting any calls from any company ?
Have you upload your CV in various consultancy ?
Upload your updated CV to various consultancy like as Naukri, Monster etc. and search job for ABAP module and apply in various job.
If you want to go for certification, then you can. It will be extra knowledge for your career.

I am an MBA( HR) and a fresher. I would like to be SAP techno functional professional. For that with which course i should begin with ABAP HR or SAP HR functional modules.
I am confused. Please help me to know the answers to the following queries-:

 2.Are any other sap courses with a better demand than SAP hr modules

Hi Karan,
Techno Functional means it includes both Technical and Functional Knowledge.
For knowing Technical things, you need to go for ABAP HR training and for knowing Functional areas you need to go for SAP HR. I think for your profile SAP HR which means Functional side would be good. But for Technical, one need to have the basic programming knowledge of any tool/technology.Then only it will be easy, otherwise it will be difficult. But nothing is impossible.
Answers to your questions;
1.SAP HR is good in the market now and it will be good in future too.Also, competition is less when comapared with other modules.Very less people are taking this module.
2.Apart from SAP HR, the very hot hot module I can say is SAP FI/CO.It is king in SAP. Next comes Netweaver and SRM.
3.You cannot compare Siemens and local institutes. If you go for Siemens you will write the exam, pass and get the certification. Using this certification you can find a job easily.Normally, companies recognize only if you have some good years of experience or as a certified fresher.Because you do not have exp, this ceritfication helps you finding a job.But whereas if you go to local institutes you cannot get the certification and it makes very difficult for you to get a job.You have to put some fake experience and try. But this is not easy and not recommended.That too there is no gap as you are a fresher, so you cannot claim any exp. Without exp and without certification, no body will recognize you.
Think in all terms and then make a good decision. Good Luck for your future efforts.

Please help explain SAP Benchmark Terminology

I am looking for help in understanding the terminology of some benchmarks for SAP applications. I have read and re-read several pages on their website, including http://www.sap.com/solutions/benchmark/index.epx but still are not 100% clear. I would greatly appreciate if someone familiar with SAP would answer the following questions:
Q1. SD Standard Benchmark - is it correct that this is not a single benchmark, but actually a generic term referring to all the SAP benchmarks including benchmarks for: Power, ERP, Supply Chain, Banking, Utilities, NetWeaver, Enterprise Portal, Customer Relationship Management, Product Lifecycle Management, and Retail? If not, what is it?
Q2. SAPS - is it correct that this is a unit of measurement and not a benchmark? It looks like the results of the Sales and Distribution (SD) Benchmark are reported in SAPS.
Q2b. I have seen cases where people refer to the "SAPS" benchmark. If SAPS is a unit of measurement, is it safe to say that SAPS is another way of referring to the Sales and Distribution (SD) benchmark? If yes, is it the 2-tier or 3-tier version?
Q3. I have also seen cases where people refer to the "SAP" benchmark. What are they most likely referring to?
Q4. Please confirm that the following all refer to the same benchmark: SAP-SD Two-Tier, SAP SD 2-tier, SD2 SAPS, and SAP SD2

I got in easy on my end and actually just upgraded last week.
Only thing I can think of is its a server issue on Verizon's end. I know they have many servers that people are redirected to, but dont know how it all works.
Have you all tried using different broswers and still got the same message? If so its almost guaranteed its on their side.

Presently I m working in TCS(2007 Passout). recently I hav undergone ABAP training conducted in TCS by SAP Education Services,and now waitiing for related projects here..But as told by HR currently no requirements for ABAPers..and also they will be providing Course attended certificate but dont know when.
Also
As told by sdn forums there are very less job opportunities for ABAP freshers
also Some people say Certification wil not matters much for getting jobs
My question's are here
1.is it necessary to attend certification exam and how should I plan for completing ABAP certification?
2.How well should i plan for my career?
3.Incase if i get project in someother technology in TCS, how i should come back to SAP?

If u r good in ABAP its not necesary to do certification.Certifcation are helpful tp promote you and add an extra edge.
If u plan for abap certification then plz check these links:

I work for a company who is fortune 100 and only global distributor of IT products having presence in 6 Continents.

This thing has been discussed many times. This is not advisable that you take loan for starting your career in SAP until and unless you have hundred percent job surety which is almost impossible. You have to sacrifice your prior non IT related experience. When you start career in SAP you start from scratch. Excel Download of a Web SAP BW Report asks userid and password.please help

Dear BW folks,
Issue: When I run a specific SAP BW Report from Web and download the same into excel & csv.
When I open the excel file downloaded, it asks me user name and password to enter. csv file downloaded doesn't ask.
The report has 0cust_sales hierarchy and SBU hierarchy.
Is there any thing to do with these hierarchies that the excel download is asking user name and password?
Please help me out!!!!! This report needs to be downloaded into excel sent to my manager.....

Hello All,
Am trying to execute the first sample assignment which is given on http://service.sap.com/connectors site.
Am using .NET Connector 2.0.1 instead of .NET Connector 1.0
Have followed all the steps as mentioned in the tutor but am getting this error:

As mentioned in the tutor we need to just mention the Applciation Host & System Number in the destination object & its configured under Custom Setting & not under SAPLOGON.INI.
To resolve this problem, I tried entering the MsgServerHost & SAPSystemName as well but am still getting the same error.
Please help.....

It seems that you have configured your destinaton1 to use "10.10.18.204" as Message Server and "PUBLIC" as logon group. The message server answers: "Group PUBLIC not found".
Please check the load balancing settings of your SAP system if it supports load balancing at all and what groups exist.
If "destination1" is a SAPLogonDestination, please check if the corresponding destination in SAPLOGON works.

i'm working with IBM maximo and sap netweaver integration. I need to import 2 files in Netweaver. I''m not good in sap so please tell me how to do this step by step.

Since you say that you are u201Cnot good in sapu201D, I wanted to clarify.
Only the R file (R900030.D04) needs to be copied to the ../data directory.
Only the K file (K900030.D04 needs to be copied to the ../cofiles directory.
(Copying both files to both directories will work as well.)
The request would be added to the STMS queue as:
D04K900030
