Please help installing CS3

I had a working demo version of CS3 on my laptop, this was uninstalled with no errors, when it expired my company purchased a full copy, now when I try to install it only the sub applications load not the actual CS3, the installation bar shows installing shared applications and at the end it says shared apps installed but CS3 failed with a red cross.
Nothing has changed on my laptop since it was last working
Running Windows XP SP3
On a HP Elitebook 8440p
Plenty of memory and storage space
I have also tried to install a demo version again and get the exact same problem
Please can someone help as I need this for my work, my own help desk can not come up with a solution apart from telling me they can try a re-build of my laptop, I think not...
I have tried:-
Creating a new local admin user and installing the app, same problem
Checked the directory in c:\programe files after uninstalling and it is empty
Re-installed in a new folder directly off of the root, same problem
Started the service FLEXnet Licensing Service and re-installed the app, same problem
Now at my wits end and my workload is at roof level.

If I now try to install it again the extraction box disapears and then nothing happens, I also see now a bigger list of Adobe products in add remove programes but they can not be removed, no uninstall button next to it.
Any ideas before I give in to my help desk and let them re-build my laptop

  • Please help installing solaris 10 -x86

    Hello, Im a total newbie to solaris, can someone please help me installing?
    I download solaris-10 x86 and I joined the 5 iso files and burnt the dvd, it appears to be OK, but when I boot the dvd all I get is the command line
    GNU GRUB Version 0,95 Grub>
    according to the installation notes it is supposed to boot into a menu which allows various installation choices.
    How can I start the installation from the command line? or is there something missing from the dvd?
    the dvd has 20,023 files) (44,216 folders) (size on disk 3,57GB)

    I just purchased a new laptop this week and I need to install CS3 on it.  Now I have the Adobe Creative Suite 3 Web Premium edition with student licensing.  I have this software installed on my other PC with XP on it and it worked just fine.  When I put the disc in to install on my new laptop, the AutoPlay feature comes up asking me what I want to do with the product, but install CS3 is not an option.  The options that are listed are Import Pictures, View Pictures, Create Disc or Edit Image, Make a muvee with photos, and of course open folder to view files.  I tried opening the folder and finding the Adobe CS3 folder but there is not just a folder marked 'Adobe CS3'.  I typed setup.exe in the run command but it was not a valid request so nothing happened.  When I open the folder I see Documentation, Goodies, and Creative Suite 3 Web Premium Read Me.  I cannot navigate through the files and find anything to click on that would make me thing that it would install the suite.
    It has been a while since I installed this on my other PC, so I am not exactly sure I remember how it went when installing.  I was just wondering if maybe this is something that can be easily remedied.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Well I feel like a genius now haha.  I see what the problem was.  I guess upon installing my software on my PC in the past I put the paper that is inside the case with the coupon code on top of the side that had the application install CD and I never saw it until this evening since I didn't move the paper.  It was hidin from me.  I appreciate the help though.

  • Please help -installed update from itunes wiped my phone

    I just installed an update on itunes and it must have done some sort of factory reset as it wiped everything including my contacts from my phone. I plugged it in again to see if it could install a back up and I can't find anything. Also, it started 'backing up' the new empty phone and asked me to register it.
    Please help anyone- I had a lot of music and expensive aps on there not to mention contacts and diary entries. I never had problems with it before but this is an absolute nightmare.

    Am really annoyed now- by the number of people viewing this thread this is clearly a big problem and yet nobody at Apple has bothered to help. I would much rather pick up the phone and speak to someone but can't because it's been 90 days since my purchase.
    I have spent a lot of money on music and aps and it looks like Apple don't even care- it's a disgrace. I can now see what all the fuss is about in the media and why people are angry at them as well. I won't be buying any of their products again that's for sure.

    I boot from CD run through the sun boot part ok.
    Then i select to boot from my CD at the end. THis works fine.
    It then starts to load sunOs 2.8 but restarts very shortly after and does'nt give me a chance to read error message.
    I tryed loads of different configs with no sucess Please help.

    Solaris Intel forum next to this. Some discussions

    on a P4 cpu.
    Once you've got the system installed using the kadb
    procedure given above you should try to install the latest
    kernel patch 108529-08 that fixes problem solaris has with
    these P4 cpus.

    What PSU is that and what are the ratings of that PSU ? See the label on the side.
    Are you trying to use the onboard graphics?

    I m trying to install a new hd. I put the screws where there needed to go, plugged in all appropriate SATA plugs into new HD, went to dicl utility and no new HD shows up to initialize or format. Please help me .. I have purchased a 500 gb Seagate HD from ramjet.

    I have installed and uninstalled the new HD about 5 times already. Please help me

    On older ATA drives there are little plastic tabs that, depending on configuration, designate a drive as "Master" or "Slave." If both drives are configured as "master" it can sometimes cause one not to be seen by the computer.
    I only mentioned it because:
    A) I had it happen 2x with my old G4.
    B) Most new drives are shipped with the jumpers in "master" position, I'm guessing because they assumed most people were replacing their primary drives, not adding them.

  • Please help- Fireworks CS3 popup menu displaying wrong positions on live page

    Greetings all,
    I am new to Fireworks and my knowledge of html and dreamweaver is pretty basic, So i am learning as I go here. My problem is this: I have created a popup menu for the site http://www.theatricalprojections.com I used Fireworks to edit a .png and position the menus and links that I want. I had everything set up the way I wanted it to look except that when I published the code, the menus are showing up in the wrong postions on the live site, while it works fine when I preview it locally. You'll notice that the menu popping up for the word "consoles" isn't next to the word where it should be.
    I exported the png to an htm file. I then copied this code and I had to paste it into a box in the Able Commerce system we have for managing the site. I suspect the fact that I am insterting the code into a box within this software makes things different though I really have no idea.
    Please help me!

    the design will stay, but thank you. When I left work I uploaded the old version that had menus aligned correctly. right now the new one is up and the some of the menus are way of out place I've been trying to fix this and I have no Idea what to do!

    Hi, I'm using Windows Vista. My laptop had something wrong with it so I brought it in the Best Buy, who fixed it for me. I got it back, tried to run CS3, I got an error message saying I couldn't run it, and that I had to reinstall it. So I got my disc out, reinstalled it. (i removed it from my computer completely first) The installation window came up, as well as Adobe Play, whatever that is. The Shared Components reinstalled, but not my CS3. Someone help, please!

    you might have to run it a couple of times at increasing levels.
    again, READ first...
    then note the tip at the bottom:

  • Please help -- Encore CS3 crashes often on a new PC

    Read below the typical problem report from Vista problem history -- it's French to me. The whole report would not fit here. Have had numerous crashes in Encore, and few times in Bridge, Premiere and After Effects. The programs just "stopped working" at a specific point without an explanation. Eventually I would work around it by clearing from the project the media file I was working on and re-importing it. Yesterday, I uninstalled and re-installed Encore to no benefit.
    I am on a new PC less than 2 months old, so I can't tell if it's the problem. Most of my problems involve CS3 applications, but this computer has been pretty shaky since I got it. Performance seems slow for such a stacked computer, HP Pavilion d5000t Intel core 2 quad 2.66 with 8 GB RAM Vista Ultimate 64-bit, 1 TB SATA RAID O. Not quite a workstation, but I shouldn't be having slow performance working with MiniDV not HD video.
    Please direct me to some kind of troubleshooting plan. I was having problems with an external SATA Buffalo drive with USB 2 and Firewire 800. Now I'm doing everything and storing everything on the 1 TB main system drive.

    My wife has a "consumer" HP that had, as I remember, a lot of CRAP in the startup that was pre-installed by HP
    You might want to check was is loading with Windoze... and us MSCONFIG to halt those things that you don't really need

    I would like to know where I can get help regarding reinstalling Photoshop CS3.  I bought Photoshop a long time ago when it was on a disk.  I kept upgrading it until I had upgraded it to CS3.  Recently my computer crashed that had the Photoshop CS3 on it.  I'm trying to get the Photoshop CS3 on my new computer, but it wants the serial # of the original program, but it DOES NOT list the photoshop 3 or photoshop 4 that I bougt years ago.  I registered Photoshop CS3 so it should be on file that I own it.  Can anyone tell me where I can get help with this.  CS3 cost me a lot of money and I like using it. 

    You might be out of luck since Adobe no longer provides support for CS3.  The only hope you might have is to contact Adobe Support by chat or by phone and explain to them your scenario and hope that you get someone who is willing to work a bit and see what they can do to help you thru.
