Please Help Interpret This Panic Report

Greetings --
I've had four kernel panics in the past couple of days. After the third one, I restored my boot volume from a cloned backup, just in case something I had installed or changed was the source of the trouble. That got me through a full day trouble-free, but I just had another one while trying to simultaneously play a DVD and browse a webpage in Safari. Quick summary of my setup: early 2008 Mac Pro with 12GB of RAM and two Apple monitors running OSX 10.8.5.
I ran three passes of Apple Hardware Test, including one extended test that took a couple of hours, but no trouble was detected.
Can anyone find a clue in the following report? Thanks in advance for any insights!

You will probably continue to have this problem because this -"6 error-reporting banks"- indicates a memory problem.

  • Please help interpreting kernel panic message

    Hello.
    Could anyone please help me to interpret the kernel panic message (below) I received today. I have had several such events recently, and I have already read and implemented the suggestions regarding resolving kernel panics listed on the X-Lab's X-FAQs website. I have run all the repair and diagnostic stuff that is usually recommended to other people posting questions about resolving kernel panics. I don't have anything plugged into my Mac except the keyboard and mouse, and I know that I could take my computer to a shop and have someone look it over.
    My specific question is this: Can anyone interpret the actual content of this particular kernel panic message and give me any clue as to the likely source or cause of the problem, or what is happening?
    I hope that no one is offended by my posting since I am not an expert who regularly uses this forum.
    Thank you very much!

    Hi, Chris and Maxit —
    Was this a one-time problem?
    I claim no particular expertise, but I don't see much in the panic.log that helps to isolate a specific underlying cause.
    That is, except for Maxit's rationale. Because the backtrace indicates that the exception occurred upon loading the IOAudioFamily .kext (driver, or extension "family"), related hardware &/or driver compatibility would typically be worth exploring. Please check to be sure that you've disconnected all non-critical peripherals & disabled login items and any "system enhancers" while you're troubleshooting this problem.
    The 0x300 DAR (data access register) trap is probably the most common type of exception that causes kernel panics. It simply indicates that the processor couldn't perform a data memory access. This could be due to a programming issue or a hardware problem (e.g., "bad" RAM, HD corruption).
    If the problem recurs without any more specific indication from a panic.log or, e.g., console.log entr(ies), I suggest you diligently work through the course of action presented in Resolving kernel panics.
    Sorry I can't offer anything more magically insightful.
    Good luck!
    Dean

    Which tool are you using to create the report Divya?
    You may use PIVOT to create the matrix like report.
    For Ex;
    SELECT *
    FROM (SELECT product_code, quantity
    FROM pivot_test)
    PIVOT (SUM(quantity) AS sum_quantity FOR (product_code) IN ('A' AS a, 'B' AS b, 'C' AS c));
    A_SUM_QUANTITY B_SUM_QUANTITY C_SUM_QUANTITY
    210 90 160

    I just bought a new iPhone and accidentally backed it up with my old iPhone backup, I do not want this. I lost everything on my new phone and I need it back. PLEASE HELP! This includes pictures and texts, etc.

    So just to be clear, when you say "just bought" how long ago was that? Is it on this new iPhone that you had pictures, texts, etc that you want? Were you backing up to iCloud or onto iTunes?
    This may not help for everything but if you go to iCloud.com and log in, are you able to find your pictures there?

    Every time I sync my Iphone 5c(with ios 8) to Itunes, it 1. deletes all of my purchased music 2. deletes all of my album artwork 3. replaces all of my deleted songs. please help! this is driving me crazy! It syncs 100+ songs, when I only want to sync 1! I'm running Itunes 11.3.1.2

    After having experienced similar problems and having it back to work, I have a few suggestions:
    - Try to find out if the syncing stops at a particular track or song. That might - out of the blue - have gotten corrupted in one way or another. Since that song will not be on the iPod, iTunes will try over and over to put it on and crash in one way or another;
    - reformat the iPod as described in the iTunes 9 crash-thread. It takes time (at first it seems to do nothing, but that is because the green bar is moving with very small steps);

  • Please help in this

    Hi
    Please help with this:
    How to know if string buffer doent contain anything:
    I am getting stringoutofbounds exception..
    StringBuffer myString=new StringBuffer(" ");
    if(myString.toString()!=" ")
         int i=myString.lastIndexOf(",");
         myString.deleteCharAt(i).toString());
         }

    If you want to compare the equivalence of two String datatypes, use the "equals()" method. The technique you are using, the equality operator '!=', will compare not the semantic value of the string representation, but rather the value of the object reference of that string. So in your example, ( myString.toString() != "" ) will always be true, even if the StringBuffer is instantiated with an empty string because the two sides of the operator refer to different objects.
    Use instead ..
    if ( !myString.toString().equals(""))
