Please Help, Ipod Not Working Correctly

Hi, I recentely downloaded an episode of monk, and when I went to put it on my iPod it doesn't work. I click it in the iPod, and then the screen goes blank and doesnt ever play, then it returns to the main screen after 30 seconds. How can I fix this?

i had the same problem
the only difference is that the video tries to load, but it jus doesnt - u hear the hard constantly spinning, and after like 5 seconds the ipod freezes.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

PLEASE HELP IPOD NOT WORKING EVEN AFTER FACTORY RESET!!

I am having terrible problems with my ipod mini... it was my sister's earlier and I got it because she gave up on it. I have done everything in my power.. tried the 5'R's, reinstalling itunes, and everything INCLUDING the factory reset, and the same thing is persisting... the exclamation mark with file, and it just says to visit http://www.apple/support/ipod, which i've gone to several times, read everything relavent, and still nothing helped. Please someone help, any thing could work so please, i'd really appreciate it, I look foreward to your opinion!!

Please help ipod not formatting

please help
going on long trip, want to use ipod for first time
when insert ipod cd, asks to connnect ipod, recognizes ipod
attached using USB2.0, says needs format, click on format, just sits there with blue bar scrolling left to right while saying waiting for ipod, and does not let you click on back button format button, or cancel button
so close window and window behing which couldn't see before says enter serial #, do that goes through rest of installation, then if plug in ipod, windows recognizes it but itunes doesn't, also when using ipod updater says plug in ipod so i do but never allows me to click update or restore
problems probably all related to formatting issue
have tried several solutions suggested on web but none work
so disappointed

The best way is to restore the iPod Updater (latest version please)instead of formatting, unless your iPod could not get recongized by your PC. I will try to put it in Disk Mode (press "Select"+"Play" keys) and connect with your PC, open your iTunes and hope that you can see your iPod's icon in it, then open the iPod updater and do a restore.
If you still cant solve your probelm, someone in this forum suggested to do a chkdsk.
I got disappointed with the XP, I finally managed to format my iPod using 3rd party software i.e. "Partition Magic" and got it fixed up

Ipod not working correctly, not frozen, nothing on it.

My ipod was connected to this ipod dock and all of the things on my ipod were completely erased, pictures, songs, everything. Since then it has been not working properly. When i try to update my ipod i wont let me. iTunes keeps giving me this message that says that i have to restore my ipod back to factory settings. I dont know how to do that. The ipod shows up on my computer desktop but not in Itunes. Also when i connect it to the computer the "do not dissconect" sign shows and does not go away.
also i was wondering does apple have an Email where I could Email them abut my ipod trouble or do i have to call the number?

Restoring your iPod.
iPod does not appear in iTunes (Mac).
If you have your iPod set to automatically transfer songs, right click on the iPod in iTunes, select options and if you have a check mark in the box marked “enable disk use”, remove it and your iPod should automatically disconnect after it’s finished transferring music. If it's set for manual transfer of songs, then you have to manually disconnect the iPod. You can just right click on it and select eject, or just drag it to the trash.

i really need help
i connected my nano to the computer the other day and the folder with the exclamation point came up. i tried resetting, reconnecting, ive left it connected to my computer for hours to see if it will charge, but the same thing keeps coming up. when i connect it to my computer it says 'do not disconnect' and in the top right corner theres a battery with a lightning bolt beside it. is there something im doing wrong? or something i should be doing? please help!!

Ipod not working correctly

I have not used my Ipod mini in a very long time today I was trying to connect it to the computer to erase/add new songs or "sync" it....I connected it and the do not disconnect logo appears and the computer recognizes new hardware, but when I go into Itunes the icon does not show up. I downloaded the newest version and did all updates and its still not working. I tried to put the ipod into disk mode by following the instructions but it will not go into disc mode either. I went to windows media player and tried syncing it through there and it said it did successfully but then none of the songs showed up on the ipod its still showing the same old songs that were on there even though on media player it said i deleted and added the new ones. I then went to my computer to and opened the ipod file and it is showing all the changes made....old songs gone new songs added but they are still not showing up on the actual ipod.....any ideas what is going on or how to fix this??

Hmmmm... I'm not really sure what you're problem is. You could definitely try calling Apple's Tech Support Number (1-800-MY-APPLE) or visiting your local Apple Retail Store.

Please help - Ipod not recongised by itunes

I recently attempted deleting a couple of songs from my ipid which resulted in losing all 20G of files. Since then my Ipod is not recognised by my PC. I have completed all support reccomendatsions and returned the IPOD which was in tuen returned to me by Apple indicating there was no issue with it. They will not however provide any further support. I am going nmad with it.
The ipod appears in windows as removable media but does not show in Itunes. I have tried it on other machines with no result. Does anyone have any suggetsions???

Please help ipod not restoring

Hi everyone, ive been having some problems with my ipod lately. The 'sync to itunes' screen is showing on my ipod and i forced it into recovery mode in order to restore it. This worked and then my ipod was synced perfectly.
After this i used itunes to update some of my apps and then tried to re-sync my ipod. The apps were synced but all of my music/videos/photos etc were wiped off my ipod. So i tried to sync it once again and it went back to the 'sync to ipod' screen.
Again my only option was to restore it, but now when i try this procedure i just get an 'error 14' message and it doesnt restore.
Any ideas?

OK - after hours and hours of fidling I have found a [partial] solution.
After posting above I tried restoring my iPod with the Firewall turned off. This changed the Error from (6) to (14) but otherwise the same symptoms.
I used a different computer (Windows XP Laptop) and iTunes to recover my iPod. This was a clean install of iTunes on the laptop. I took the OS 3.0 firmware out of the App Settings folder on my Vista PC and saved onto the laptop. On the laptop I shift-clicked the restore button when iTunes recognised the iPod in recovery mode and chose the OS 3.0 firmware.
Once recovered I completely uninstalled iTunes, Bonjour, Quicktime and Apple Mobile Device Service and used CCleaner to remove rougue registry entries. I also manually moved all the Apple/Apple Computer and iTunes/iPod folders in my Documents & Settings and Local Settings etc.
I then (with great trepidation) plugged my iPod into my Vista PC. I deleted the other iTunes library and its currently syncing with my music library. Fingers crossed the Sync completes.
I hope this helps someone else and I hope that Apple actually takes the crash reports and does something with them - I think its pretty poor that you can't log a support case and that the telephone helpline told me I needed to replace the iPod when there is clearly not a hardware problem.

This formula I have seems to work any other time, but this one batch I am reporting on doesn't work properly:
(distinctcount({CHART.CHART_ID}))-(distinctcount({@nc})){@nc} = if ({CHART.SUSPEND_CODE} <> "GC") then 1
The results for {@nc} is 0 in the report, the result for (distinctcount({CHART.CHART_ID})) is 41. How come this result of (distinctcount({CHART.CHART_ID}))-(distinctcount({@nc})) is 40 in the report?? (41-0 should = 41 but crystal has 41-0 = 40)
I tried adding a +1 to the end of the formula and pulling data from a different batch, but the results were 1 too much.

Hi, Sometimes I will break the formula on purpose, save it any way and run, then when the error pops up, it will show the values in the formula editor. (in CR XI anyway) try this formula..
(distinctcount({CHART.CHART_ID}))-(distinctcount({@nc})){@nc} = if ({CHART.SUSPEND_CODE} <> "GC") then 1 / 0
This will cause the formula to fail, but hopefully you will be able to see the value of {@nc} during the calculation. Also, try adding this to the details section and manually count.
If that does not help, could you give some sample data.

I installed an update and now i'm trying to restore my iphone but it gets to the part where it says preparing iphone for restore but then an unknown error comes up. I've uninstalled itunes and reintalled but nothing is helping. Any ideas on trying to fix this would be much appreciated. Mel

Download Helper is not working correctly

Recently, when downloading some YouTube videos, the video I'm watching doesn't always download to RealPlayer. When it does download, it doesn't capture the correct video name of the video playing. It keeps using a name from a video I downloaded shortly after I upgraded to Firefox 4.0 (about a week ago) which what I'm still using.

I would recommend to contact the nearest Microsoft Partner and ask DVD there.
If you insist on continuing downloading trial version, deleted cached content from internet browser and/or wait for better condition for download. Chances are that the transfer stops when there is slow transfer rate.

Please help, photomerge not working? (one tiny horizontal canvas?)

I'm using it to do panography... so I'm literally using hundreds of pictures.
My process is: batch resize, so they go from being about 5mb to 2.5 (still quite large I know but I want to print it really large and when I resized them to 500kb they were waay too obviously pixelated.)
After this I save them all in a folder and use the photomerge collage thing and select all the pictures, i dkno what canvas size to have but i just assumed it would sort itself out. I've done this before, but with much smaller pictures (500kb ish)
Is the size of the images the problem, should I just have a larger canvas/background?? It takes so long for photoshop to sort them all out that I really can't be bothered to go through the entire process again to get the same result.
Which is basically all of the pictures on the layers (as normal), but the grey/white blocks (background, you know what I mean?) is really really long horizontally and there's about 1 image visible? Difficult to describe, just realised I can upload a screenshot. Considering that.

A screenshot would be nice. And yes, the canvas will take care of itself. File sizes mean nothing in this context, a 5 MB jpeg and a 5 MB psd are two completely different animals. What are the pixel dimensions? And how many frames?
In general, a photomerge failing to complete is usually because of poor or missing overlap. Water, drifting clouds, trees swaying in the breeze, you get the idea.
