Please Help--It Won't Work At All!!!

Today when I was using my iPod, the battery went completely down, to the point where I had to charge it. I plugged it into the computer, and iTunes didn't come up. So I took the USB cable out and plugged it back in. Still didn't work, so I manually brought iTunes up. My iPod is all black, and nothing works. On iTunes, it doesn't give me the option to sync my iPod. The battery is totally drained, so I can't toggle it or reset. Can someone please help me??!!??!!

Quicktime or Quicktime Pro (which iTunes uses) don't convert "muxed" ( muxed means multiplexed where the audio and video are stored on the same track) video files properly. It only plays the video and not the audio.

You need a 3rd party converter to convert the file with both audio and video.

Please help - iMessage won't work

So I updated my phone today like I'm sure a lot of you did and I tried going in to activate my iMessage, I've tried it for hours and even reset my phone and it won't work. I know my id and password are right and my connection to my wifi is good but every time I do it it pops up after about 30 seconds of trying and says "could not sign in. If you are having trouble with SMS messages, then you would need to address that with your carrier, unless you are receiving them and just not get a notification. If you have followed the steps I gave you for iMessage and you are not receiving notifications, then check the settings for Notification Center. If you have Messages set to show on the lock screen and play a sound, and display a banner, etc. then your next step is a restore. First restore from a backup, and if that doesn't work, then restore as a new device. Restoring the phone will result in the loss of all data. Make sure you have backed up the phone, synced all content and imported photos to the computer.

my home button won't work at all, and when I tried to restart the phone, the message appears that this action won't work unless the phone is on the airplane mode. Can't really read the whole message cause it disappears after a second or so.
I put the phone on the charger and the USB connection also failed.

It sounds like it's broken. Assuming you haven't jailbreaked or otherwise hacked it you should try a Restore or a Recovery. If you put it in the cradle and you can't restore it see: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305797 for Recovery mode.
If this doesn't work call Apple or take it to an Apple store; it probably needs to be replaced.
If it HAS been hacked go to the source of your hacking tools for help; we aren't allowed to discuss it here.

The screen repair was botched. Take iPhone back to place of screen repair, and have them get the home button working again.

Installed itunes 6 and now CD/DVD drive won't work at all

Yes, I suspect that it's the virtual drive emulator software you have there. I know nothing about that software and it doesn't look like the Roxio support page even mentions it, so it's probably software old enough that they're not supporting it anymore.
To uninstall any software, I would start with the "Add and Remove Programs" Control Panel. Uninstall it there, and then use the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility —

Download and install that. Run it and find the drive emulator software on the list and remove it there. And reboot and see if that has successfully removed it.
There is a work around that if we just remove the iTunes CD driver, you'll probably get your drive back, but you'll only be able to rip CDs, you won't be able to burn them without the iTunes CD driver installed. You do have some Pinnacle CD burning software installed. Are you currently using that or is that leftover cruft as well?

Color replacement tool won't work at all

Hi, I am using photoshop CS3 in 10.6.2. The color replacement tool is not a tool I have much experience with, but am wondering why it won't work at all. I have reset the tool to its default preferences and tried using it on multiple documents and with different users and it just won't work. Nothing happens at all. I have watched some tutorials on using the tool and it looks easy enough and quite straight forward to use. I have tried every setting for the tool and still nothing happens. I am working on the top layer and have not selected anything. I have tried merging all the layers onto one layer incase the tool wasn't working because it would only replace the color of what is on a layer.

The mode is color. The sampling is continuous and the limits are contiguous. These are the default settings for the tool.
I am noticing that the tool does work a little. I created a new document with 3 layers. The bottom layer is a white background. The middle layer has a blue square on it and the top layer is blank.
I notice that the color replacement tool won't work on the white background layer or the top blank layer, but only works on the middle layer. Does the tool only work on the same layer that has a color you are trying to replace?
When I hit the command option shift E keys to merge the layers into a copy, the tool only worked on the part of that layer that had the rectangle drawn on it and ignored the white part of the image.

Thing is, I was using it on my old MacBookPro, also w/ yosemite. No problem. So I think it should run on the new one with the same OS.
I did figure out how to find the CC cleaner log file. It had a lot of stuff in it, but did not indicate any kind of failures. I did not see the word “failure in the log file at all.
After your suggestions, I went thru all the steps again - twice - very carefully emptying the trash between steps and restarting. Got the same error message at the end.
Now, I still have 5.5 working on the old computer. That was my first and only install. My notes suggest I installed it in 2011.
If I knew for sure that if I deactivated it (if I knew how to do that) on the old computer, and uninstalled it, AND I could then count on the install working on my new computer, I would do it, but I am afraid to do that for fear that then I wouldn’t have it to use at all.
I had expected it to transfer over, and then I would clean the old computer, as my son wants it for his wife, They have no use for DW.
I also had trouble w/ MS Office, but they allowed me to call them and get a new install code. Now that Works fine.
I wish Adobe were as accommodating. I have my original install disk & code. I never expected any of this trouble.
I hope you can come up with a new plan. I really can’t afford to buy a new copy, especially when I know that this one should work, if it would just get rid of this blocking action.

My ipod won't work at all

I plugged it into a universal car charger that had a switch on it for different devices. I didn't realize it wasn't on the "usb" option when it was plugged in. Now it won't work at all, do I need a new battery, hard drive or both?

If you have a USB power supply for the iPod try plugging it in that and let it sit for a while. Your battery may need some charging before it will come alive again. This happens when a battery gets depleted to a point that it needs a lot of charging to come back. If you don't have a USB supply plug it in your USB port and let it charge for a few hours. It will take longer using the USB port.
If this doesn't help you will need to consider getting your battery replaced.

You can't update the original iPad beyond iOS 5.1.1 so if you were already running that version, there was no reason to wipe the iPad to try to update.
Won't work at all, doesn't tell me the whole story. Does it power up but not respond to anything? Does it not power up at all? Some detailed information in context would really be helpful.
IF the device will not start up, try a reset. Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple Logo appears on the screen.

Well, yes, data does get corrupted sometimes.
The trick is finding what data.
By 'cleaned' are you therefor meaning that the drive has been erased and the system re-installed?
Because that's the quickest way to deal with such a situation.
Back up the system first of course,
Add back 3rd party apps one at a time in case one of them is causing the problem.

if require the new itunes11.1.X
if you already have that and it's windows then uninstall itunes
use regEdit you can type that in run or the likes and search and delete all hits you get on itunes
then reboot windows and install itunes again

The tools on Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 seemed to have frozen. The crop symbol is 3 of the symbols nest to each other. The hand move tool is not one hand but 3 next to each other. Other tools won't work at all. Really nice!

Ya, okay ! I use a number of PSE programs, one of which is PSE 9. The tools for some reason seem to have frozen. When I use the move tool I don't get just one hand but 3 hand symbols all next to each other. Same thing with the crop tool, I don't get one symbol but 3 all next to each other. There are a couple of tools that just don't work at all. It's like the PSE 9 got hit with some virus or sorts. Oh well, live and learn. Trying to get through to tech service is next to impossible.

Have you seen this other thread you started about this problem?
