Please Help! iWork installation

I recently bought a MacBook Pro. The trial of iWork '09 ran out so I bought the actual software (installation DVD and box) and installed it on my computer. I deleted the trial and any other application associated with iWork '09.When I try and run the program it continually asks for the serial number and no matter what number I insert it's wrong and is asking me to buy the iWork serial number online.
I am very frustrated and would appreciate any help! I have to write up an essay and don't want to revert to Microsoft word.
Thank you!

no matter what number I insert it's wrong
Where are you getting these numbers from if not from the DVD or the material that came with it?
Post in the iWork forum area. There is a long thread (Serial Number for iWork'09 ) you should read - http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2300224&tstart=0

  • Please help! Installation problems

    Please help!
We own a CS3 Master Collection but for some reason, when trying to install Flash, it ejects the CS3 disc requesting that a CS4 disc be inserted!?! Now a trial version CS4 was installed on a guest account but all components (to the best of my knowledge) have been removed.
Any ideas? Are there some hidden files somewhere that must be erased in order to install Flash CS3?
Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions.

    Welcome to the forum.
With most Adobe programs, if a trial has been installed, even if it's from a later version, there can be problems when installing any version. Even though the trial was uninstalled, there is often residue left over.
Adobe has two Adobe Clean Scripts for uninstalling ALL aspects of any trials. The CS3 Clean Scrips are located HERE. The Adobe Clean Scripts for CS4 are located HERE.
Use the one for the trial that was installed and run it a couple of times. Delete any Adobe folder of that version, that might be left, and then run a Registry cleaner, like CCleaner. THEN, install the version that is desired.
The "trial" versions of most Adobe programs can leave detritus behind and it needs to be removed, to allow for a proper installation.
Sorry that there's so much work involved, but it is necessary.
Good luck, and please report the successful installation of Flash and all of the Master Collection.

Can you help me pls to find the problem ?
    thank's all
    solo

    solo,
I think your problem is simply that you're including the marvel.conf file too many times. You're now making it appear like the /pls/apex DAD is defined 2 or more times. And that would result in a misconfiguration error message.

  • Please Help in Installation of Oracle10g Client

I try to install Oracle10g 32 bit client on my Windows XP Pro machine, I keep getting the following issue:
Error in writing to directory C:\DOCUME~1\...\LOCALS~1\Temp\OraInstall2010-...AM.  Please ensure that this directory is writable and has atleast 45 MB of disk space.  Installation cannot continue. My machine is WinXP Pro with SP3 and it still have 51GB disk spaces. I have no problems for installing other softwares such as NetBeans, SQLDeveloper, ... etc.
    Any clues?

    Dear user4184769,
Windows systems are complicated and sometimes even hard to spot the root cause of the problem.
Like Aman.... has declared that it still seems to be a permission or even an environmental problem. I can only suggest you to first check metalink for relevan errors because there are lots of knowledge objects describing the windows problems.
One thing you can do is try to create the directory manually and share the upper folder before continuing.

  • Please Help - iTunes installer won't run on double-click

I am facing a reload of Win 7 x64 tonight if I don't get this fixed. When I run the installer all it does is create a temp folder and put an .msi in there. Nothing else happens. No errors or messages, no hung processes. nothing.
I've completely uninstalled itunes and every apple product. I've tried QuickTime independently and it does the same thing. The Windows installer is clean with no Apple entries. I initially got the message "itunes + QuickTime have an invalid signature" when trying to upgrade from 9.1 to 9.2 which prompted me to completely remove everything. My iPhone4 is coming Thursday so I've got to get this working!!
    thanks all.

I had this same problem. I followed the instructions on how to use MSCONFIG listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1275
In my case, iTunes & Quicktime were already uninstalled, so I just skipped the step about checking "qtask" & "iTunes Helper."
I used MSCONFIG to re-boot in selective start up mode. Then, I fully shutdown Virus protection. The iTunes installer ran after doing this.

When you uninstall, make sure to use the CS4 Clean Utility thereafter. Sometimes remnants of trials get in the way. Also make sure you get rid of Adobe AIR and Acrobat.com. These are separate from the main install and need to be removed individually. Likewise, you may wish to check your Acrobat/ Adobe reader install and remove it, if necessary. Since it uses components shared with PS and those may in fact be newer than the ones on the Photoshop install DVD due to updates, the installer may not liek them. And of course with all things Vista: Run as admin on first program launch so the activation can proceed and all other options can kick in correctly.

  • Please Help- iWorks and web browsers keep freezing!

I left for a family affair two weeks ago with my MacBook acting normal as usual. I returned about a week ago to this issue I can't seem to resolve!
For starters- I am unable to use Firefox, which is the browser I normally use (I never use Safari, until now that is). I open it in the dock, it bounces for an unusually long amount of time, the page comes up but does not load, then the rainbow wheel pops up and Firefox eventually quits "unexpectedly" or due to "inactivity". If I try to force quit, the Finder freezes, the dock freezes, and I am unable to do anything but sit and wait. I've restarted several times and that hasn't fixed the issue.
So now I've been using Safari, which has also been giving me troubles. If I have two or more tabs open and the same time and continue to load pages at the same time and float between tabs frequently, Safari freezes up and eventually quits. If I try to force quit, the same thing happens as does with Firefox.
Also, I am unable to use Pages or Numbers (the only two applications I've seemingly had trouble with so far). Pages doesn't even pull up a document I try to open or pull up a blank page -- it just pinwheels and quits. If I try to force quit, the same thing happens as does with Firefox, the finder and the dock freeze up and I am unable to do anything but force a restart or sit and wait. Same with Numbers. It asks me if I want to open a blank page, and if I click yes, then my dear friend pinwheel pops up again.
I don't know too much about Macs, though I've never owned a windows, but I've been reporting my problems to apple numerous times (with no return) and I've been searching through other mac-related websites and they're forums. One forum suggested repairing the disk, which I don't know anything about, but did and that still hasn't helped.
I hope someone knows what's going on with my mac because I sure don't!

I am having this same problem and I have NO idea what is causing it. I have been searching high and low for an answer, and nothing seems to be appearing. The only thing I could think now is to maybe re-install Firefox. That is the browser I have been using and that this has happened in.

  • PLEASE HELP: 10G Installation Express Ed Problems

Hi, I'm a newbie and trying to install oracle on my Window's XP PC. I've got it all downloaded but when I go to the "Go to Database Home Page" (http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex

Questions stopped in mid-sentence are quite a show stopper for a help forum, don't you think so?
    [Update]
I've noticed you posted another comment
I have a mac and installed oracle through virtual pc. The problem I am now experiencing is that it takes a ridiculus amount of time for the pages to load once logged in and working on the database. I'm thinking it's because of the limited virtual pc ram limitations, and the server's size. What OS are you using in your virtual machine and how much memory have you dedicated to that instance? Your hardware could also be a limiting factor.
I'm new to Oracle and am trying to learn it's functions and uses. I would like to be a Oracle certified Dba with in the year. I'm enrolled in some classes and will be taking the certification test next year around June or July. You mean OCP? Certification is nice, however you should focus on understanding the background of those questions and gather some experience.
I will also be moving to the UK and am hoping to begin a career in oracle upon my arrival. Good luck.
Any advice/assistance will be greatly appreciated. If you plan on becoming a DBA, I suggest you continue your studies by installing other versions of the Oracle DBMS, such as Standard Edition (SE) and Enterprise Edition (EE) to get familiar with management tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and several options such as the java virtual machine or partitioning.

I am trying to download iTunes on my new desktop computer (Windows 7, 64 bit).  It starts installing, and then stops with the message- "The System Administrator has set policies to prevent this installation." This is a stand alone computer and I am the sole user.   Please help.

This is a Microsoft Windows Issue.
    From a MS Support Engineer:
    "Hi,
    ·        Is the computer on a domain?
    ·        Is the issue isolated to only this software or you get the same error message with other software’s as well?
Try the steps below and check if it helps.
    Step 1:
Run the software setup file as an administrator and check if it helps.
    a. Right click on the setup file of the software that you are trying to install.
    b. Select “Run as administrator”.
    Step 2:
Temporarily disable the antivirus software running on the computer and check if you are able to install the software.
    Disable antivirus software
    Warning:
Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn't disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you're connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
    Step 3:
    a. Click Start, type "Local Security Policy" (without quotes) and press enter.
    b. Click on Software Restriction Policies.
    c. In the right pane, double click on the "enforcement".
    d. Select “All users except local administrators”.
    e. Click Ok and restart the computer and check if the issue is fixed."

  • Please Help. Photoshop installation failed half way through

Initially I had downloaded the photoshop CC2014 trial once, I paid I wanted the CC version because I need the oil paint function which was taken out on the CC2014 version, so what I did is uninstall the CC2014 which was installed and working and proceeded to install the CC version but midway through installation it kept failing and telling me to restart my computer, I have done that at least half a dozen times, plus I've also tried the following:
    > I uninstalled every adobe app I had including CC
    > I have used the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner tool app
    > Have restarted my computer so many times I lost count and I still get the same error, half way through the installation process
    > And now the same thing is happening when I try to reinstall illustrator, this is a nightmare!
BTW I'm not running any other software while doing this and have turned off the fire walls
I'm on an Imac OS X version 10.9.5
Please help I've spent so manny hours trying to solve this, it's driving me crazy and need to complete some work in photoshop I have deadline.

  • Itunes 10 Installs but won't open - Please Help

I had Itunes 10 installed working on my computer. I installed a program which also installed an older version of Quicktime which I think was version 6.5. The next time I tried to open Itunes it said I needed verion 7.5 of Quicktime to open Itunes please reinstall Itunes. Now comes the problem. I have installed and uninstalled Itunes about 10 times, everytime it install ok but does not open when I click on the icon. The itunes.exe file opens in task manager for a few seconds then closes. I have searched a few places for solutions with no avail. I have tried the correct order of removing apple programs and deleting temp folder and internet cache. I have tries msconfig but can't find any of the programs which have affected other users. I have tried creati9ng another user account for windows but Itunes still won't open. Can anyone please help. My computer is Windows 7 32 bit. Thank in advance.

No, the program I installed was Winavi MP4 which coverts video to ipod psp format etc.
Ack, that one's just as bad. It's been causing this sort of grief for iTunes users for over five years now.
What it has probably done here is drop old versions of QuickTime componentry in unorthodox locations on the PC (usually down in your operating system files). So we're going to go looking for that.
First we'll adjust some view settings on the PC.
    1. From the Start menu, click Open.
    2. In the Organize menu, click Folder and Search Options.
    3. Click the View tab.
    4. In the "Advanced settings" pane under "Hidden files and folders" make sure that the "Show hidden files and folders" option is selected, and the "Hide extensions for known file types" option is unchecked.
    5. Click OK.
Now, in Computer, open your C drive (or whichever drive your operating system is installed on).
    Open the "Windows" folder.
    Open the "System32" folder.
What files or folders can you see in there with QuickTime in the file or folder name? (In a standard installation of QuickTime, you should see precisely two files ... QuickTime.qts and QuickTimeVR.qtx ... and no QuickTime folders whatsoever.)
