Please Help - Lightroom 5
Hello,
I have a problem that I need help with.
After importing my photos into a specific folder with lightroom 5, I cannot see that specific folder in the library module.
Please help, as this is frustrating.

The parent folder can be "enabled" by right-clicking on the subfolder and then selecting ... well, I'll make the final step a homework assignment for the reader to figure out

PLEASE HELP Lightroom 5 assertion failed.
I followed the below fix and still get assertion failed
Open Windows Explorer.
Go to C:\Users\[your user name]\.
Check for the folder named Pictures.
If you don't see the folder, create a folder named Pictures under folder C:\Users\[your user name]\.
Restart Lightroom. If the error recurs, restart your computer, then retry. If the error recurs, continue to the next step.
Click the Windows Start button.
Type "regedit" in the Search program and files field, and press the Enter key.
Back up your registry by choosing File > Export. Give the backup copy of the registry a name and location you can remember.
Navigate to the registry key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer \User Shell Folders]
Look at the value for the My Pictures entry. The Windows default is: %USERPROFILE%\Pictures, which is the Pictures folder under C:\Users\[your user name]. If another folder is listed, check Windows Explorer for that folder. If it does not exist, you have two options. (1) Create the folder with that name in the location indicated in the registry entry. (2) If the Pictures folder exists under your user name folder, double-click the My Pictures entry, and reset the value to: %USERPROFILE%\Pictures
Quit the registry editor.
Log off from your account and back on, or restart your computer, then restart Lightroom 5.4.The locations for preference files are usually hidden at the OS level by default.

It would have been lovely if they let us know (Important Notice that the New LR5 is compatible only with MAC LION 10.7 and newer Mac versions of operating systems and older, not previous Mac operating systems versions) on the main page before purchasing LR5. I've never had a LR product that didn't work with the old operating system, and I've owned all of them. I think I just trusted Adobe would continue on with the same process . So basically, we'd have to upgrade our operating system and risk the change of now having a situation with all of our current programs that work perfectly with LR5.
Is it possible that Adobe could make sure that they inform trusting customers like us, similar to when trying to market their new products campaigns, they tell us how fabulous the upcoming product are in a variety of ways.... luring us in... You know most of us are Artists.
Just make sure you make it known other than looking at the tech spec page... say like on the page where the shopping cart option is? Epson's printer wouldn't calibrate with the Adobe PS4 a few years ago. It took us months to figure out that, it had nothing to do with our calibration process. Finally....after speaking to Epson, they walked us through varies steps etc... hundreds of dollars later, we were able to get a good print, it turns out the Adobe 4 software was not compatible at that time with the new Epson software. So here we go again...

I installed lightroom 5 with a 30 day trial and it finished.
Yesterday I installed cc and when I open LR5 I need a serial number.
What do I do/how do I get one?
Please help, Thank you.Your photos remain in place, the catalog you have been using will remain. After you install Lightroom from the CC, all you have to do is open your existing catalog and continue right where you left off.

Lightroom 4.4 keeps crashing saying "Lightroom encountered an error when reading from its preview cache and needs to quit" please help. I've tried reinstalling it and everything Windows 8.1
I assume you know where your catalogue file (the lrcat file) is located. In the same folder is a previews lrdata folder which you should delete or rename in Explorer, then start LR again.
If I've made incorrect assumptions above, sorry, and we'll go back over it from the start.

Lightroom 5 catalog issue. please help

I really need some help. When i open Lightroom 5, it gets confused and the catalog is not complete anymore. Half of them are missing.It shows the pictures on my SD card,which I always format.In other backups it's the same thing. So, I had to reimport all pictures which did month's ago and now the same AGAIN That can't be....

If so, right-click on any photo and select Go To Folder in Library and it will highlight the folder containing this photo in the left-hand side Folder Panel. -
I messed up when trying to update lightroom cc.. can someone please help! i'm on a deadline.. oy!
I tried to install nef files from my nikon d750 and it said I needed to install an update for lightroom. it told me to launch creative cloud to do so. when i tried to launch nothing was happening (I didn't realize it was launched in my nav up by the date ). i then went to the website and updated the latest version there. when i started lr it now asks me for a serial number. i have the cloud version and i'm not sure what to do now. i can't find anything in my email (just a verification of paid email) and nothing is in my account info. can someone please help! i'm on a deadline for monday and adobe is closed until then!! ugh..

Hi, please help with the installation of Lightroom 4, I bought a new Mac (Apple) and I want to install a software that I have on the album cd. My new computer does not have the drives. Can I download software from Adobe? Is my license number just to be able to download the srtony adobe.

I finished the 30 day trial for lightroom, and then I tried to pay for the monthly subscription, and the payment went through and I got the confirmation email, but it still only says "Trial Expired", so it's still not working!! Please help!
You are still trying to use the trial version that you downloaded. It is the standalone version, and has to be licensed differently. It will be necessary for you to uninstall that version of Lightroom, and then install Photoshop and Lightroom from the creative cloud application manager. After you install Lightroom properly, it will open just as it did before the trial expired, except that you won't get that opening trial screen anymore. All of your work will be intact. And you will be able to start right where you left off. The Lightroom program from the creative cloud application manager is precisely the same Lightroom program. The difference is in the licensing. The creative cloud realize on your Adobe ID and password whereas the standalone version relies on a serial number.

I have done a routine OS X upgrade (mac) yesterday to version 10.9.5. Since then, Lightroom (4.4) has crashed more times than I can count. It is impossible to access the Slideshow Module as it crashes right away. Lightroom is completely useless at the moment as it also crashed in other modules after a few minutes. PLEASE HELP as I really need Lightroom for my photography business!!! Anyone else experimenting this? What can I do to rectify this?!

After installation trouble with lightroom **please help me**
When i installed lightroom (3.6 and 4) i keep getting this error message that says " unexpected error opening catalog" i can't use or open lightroom< it doesn't give me specific details as to why it's not working. I've tried to update my computer with the services packs that it says in the requirements section when you download and i keep getting an error that won't allow it to update. I've tired using microsoft fix it and system update readniness tool to help update. My laptop is a windows 7 home premium. please help me on to fix this problem
Have you used it before? It sounds like it's open a default - and corrupt - catalog.
You can create a new one and start from scratch by holding down control as you start it. -
I have a sony rx100 and my version of lightroom (4) will not recognize the raw (.ARW) files. Please help!
I have version 4.4.1 on my computer now, which is functioning properly - but does not read the .ARW files. When I download the link you sent and try to open it, it pops up as version 5 and I get this image (attached). Reinstall the operating system from the dvd (you will not loose your data)
