Please help, LUMIA 920 won't update.

First let me say that I've had my NL0920 for six months and love it, but I am really frustrated that even 5 months after Amber came out my phone won't update and even fails updating when I try using other methods that have been discussed here. Please help, this is really frustrating because I don't have any of the Amber goodness and at this rate I know I will also miss the Black update. Even though I love my 920 I fully expected it would be updated fairly constantly as that was one of the main things that were easy to see from the press about Nokia.

The phone is an unlocked Puerto Rican Country variant and is being used in Panama Central America with the Claro Operator. According to the Global Availability page (http://www.nokia.com/global/support/software-update/wp8-software-update/) the Country variant should already have the amber update available.
When I try checking for phone updates through the Settings menu, it tells me that my phone is up to date, which is obviously not true.
Please help. I love this phone but if it won't upgrade then I am going to have to start looking at something else, because I really hoped I would get the new camera improvements, and the same with the black update.

"check" brings the box with " The ipod software update server could not be contacted. Make sure your network settings and connections are correct and your network connection is active or try again later." I have been trying for three days. The software IS up to date, I run three other ipod nanos (1st and 2nd gen) off of this itunes on this computer with NO problems or issues of any kind!

Please Help.. When I update to 7.0.6 I remark a very low battery lifetime I does not complete 2 hours.. I update to 7.1 to get rid of this problem but unforeately the problem still.. Could you please guide what to do?
Restore as New (no backup)... then Re-Sync your Content.

Errors 3000-3999 (3004, 3013, 3014, 3018, 3164, 3194, and so on): Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the update server (gs.apple.com) on ports 80 or 443.
Update to the latest version of iTunes.
Verify the computer's date and time are accurate.
Check that your security or firewall software is not interfering with ports 80 or 443, or with the server gs.apple.com.
Follow Troubleshooting security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
An entry in your hosts file may be redirecting requests to gs.apple.com (see "Unable to contact the iOS software update server gs.apple.com" above).
Internet proxy settings can cause this issue. If you are using a proxy, try without using one.
Test restoring while connected to a known-good network. -
Please help- Audio Cd won't mount after Update to 10.3.9
My CD/DVD drive is MATSHITA CD-RW CW-8122. Data CDs and DVDs are mounting fine. However when I put in an audio cd it clicks a few times and soonafter ejects. Everything was fine as far as I can remember before my update to 10.3.9 (from 10.3.5, I think). I've done the list of suggestions in some of the posts (deleting preferences and cache files, permissions, pram zap) but there's no change. Please help!

Hummmm--- I wonder if you are purchasing any of those copy protected audio CDs? It is the only thing I can think of that can cause that.

PLEASE HELP! STP changes not updated in FCP
I've watched tutorials for STP and I can't get a simple process to work.
I have original footage in FCP opened and I am working on resyncing VO over audio in STP.
In FCP, I select all and "send to Soundtrack PRO Multitrack"
The project opens in STP, but when I make changes, deleting original source audio tracks and replace them...SAVE the progress but I go back to FCP to see my work updated, as it does in Motion when you send it out, BUT NOTHING IS UPDATED or changed in FCP!!
What am i not doing, or doing wrong???? I refuse to do any further tedious syncing if my work won't ultimatley be updated in FCP to finalize the project.

-Mikeit's a stop motion project, so the compressor was set to photo-jpeg, field dominance to none, video processing to "render in rgb". the timeline also contained livetype dynamic fonts and textures on top of the pictures. in the middle of my work i spotted a few artifacts and eventually managed to get rid of them by setting field dominance to lower field. in a few moments, i noticed the livetype textures had gone invisible.

Please help iPhone 4S won't turn on!
Okay so this all happened months ago when ios7 came out. I tried to update my iPhone 4S software straight off of my phone in the settings to ios7 and it wouldn't work. So than I hooked my iphone up to my computer and went on iTunes and tried to update from there manually. Everything was working it said like 95% done updating but than it said this operation can't be done. Now, my iphone won't turn on, it goes to the connect to iTunes screen, but i don't know what to do I tried to connect it to iTunes and it didn't turn on. Please help I need this iphone to turn on!
Assuming your phone was never jailbroken, try the following:
Install the latest version of iTunes on your computer if it isn't there already from apple.com/itunes
Reboot your computer
Connect the phone to a USB 2 port directly on your computer, not to a USB hub. If it is a desktop or tower computer use a port on the back, not on the front
Disable your antivirus and firewall
Launch iTunes
Connect the USB cable to the computer, but not to the phone
On the phone hold the HOME and SLEEP buttons for EXACTLY 10 seconds, then release the SLEEP button but continue holding the HOME button - if an Apple logo appeared you held too long; the screen should be black when you release the SLEEP button.
While still holding the HOME button connect the end of the USB cable to the phone
Wait until iTunes acknowledges the phone, then release the HOME button.
The phone should now restore. If it doesn't note the error number and post back. -
All music + pictures disappeared - HELP Lumia 920
All my music and pictures from my Nokia Lumia 920 have disappeared.
However, there are stubs as in cover photo's of albums when I go into the music app, some artist names but no music. And photo's almost as if someone's wiped them clean. The photos however are safe as they are on my skydrive.
Plus when I try and add some music, it doesn't allow me to...
So multiple questions...
Is there a way to uninstall and re-install just the music app?
Also I'm unable to take screenshots on the phone anymore :-( argghWe need to know more to be able to help, Lindsay.
Did you update to iPhoto 9.6?
And the photos vanished after you upgraded the iPhoto Library?
Did iPhoto crash during the upgrade?
Where is your iPhoto Library stored? Is it on your system drive in your Pictures folder or do you keep the iPhoto library on an external disk?
If the iPhoto Library is on your system drive in your Pictures folder, select the iPhoto Library in the Finder, ctrl-click or right-click it and select "Show Package Contents" from the pop-up menu. A Finder window will open, showing you, what is there inside your iPhoto Library.
Do you see folders "Masters" and "Old Masters"? If there is a folder "Old Masters", look inside. Are there any photos inside? -
Please Help, Several Applications Won't Open!
I'm not sure if this is the right thread for this. Please point me in the right direction if it isn't. I just did a software update. The current "internet security update" was, I believe, one of installs (I wish I paid more attention). Now, I have several internet related applications that won't work. Safari, my browser of choice, won't open (I'm doing this on Firefox). My email app, Eudora, won't open. Quicktime won't open. I just tried reinstalling both Safari and Eudora. Both still won't open. I haven't done anything with Quicktime yet. Just checked other applications (RealPlayer, Windows Media Player). Neither will open. Is there a conflict somewhere? How can I resolve this? Please help!

FYI: I have a Titanium G4 550MHz PowerBook running OS 10.4.10.As others have noted, get a bootable, external HD, and make a bootable backup/clone before updating. That allows you to revert to the previous good state without having to reinstall everything.

OMG PLEASE HELP ME! WON'T START UP AND SCREEN LOOKS FUNNY O.O
Okies, my sister was on my macbook pro all night, and i just finished updating some program (the mac version of winzip?) and the comp froze and had little rectangles all over it, like tiny TVs with bad reception on it O.o
So i hold down the Power button to reset it, then turn it on, the little rectangles are there when the grey screen with the apple on it, then it goes to a blue screen and stops
I can't do anything! I even have my install disk in it cos i thought i might need to restart it that way and now it won't come out T_T
Please help! I don't know what ive done, i've only had it...less than a week!Couple of things I'd do here:
1. Restart your computer.
2. While the computer restarts, press the trackpad button and hold it down through the boot process. During the normal bootup process, this should tell the computer to eject the CD.
After that, follow these steps:
1. Turn off your computer again.
2. Unplug all cables including the power cable
3. Take out the laptop's battery.
4. Press the power button and hold it down for 5 seconds.
5. Put back in the battery.
6. Plug in the power cord
7. Press the power button to start the computer
8. As soon as you here the "bong" noise (the startup noise) press and hold down the following keys: Command Option P R (that's four keys all together including the letters P and R)
9. In a few seconds, the computer will go "bong" again (i.e., present the startup sound). Once that happens, let go of the keys and let the computer finish booting.

South Africa Lumia 920 MTN Portico update
When will the MTN Portico update be release in South Africa?
Vodacom South Africa has already received their update on the 21/01/2013.Hi, I have a question which is a follow up on this first one. I bought my Lumia 920 in South Africa on December 14, unbranded and Sim free but for the MTN network. I am no longer in South Africa and can use the Sim for the network of my choice, Although the phone tile says "Home Network" instead of the carrier name. I checked for the Portico update and couldn;t find it until this Sunday Evenning when I received a message that it can now be downloaded.
I held off on downloading it however, because a friend of mine recently updated his Lumia 610, - bought in one country, unbranded and sim free, works with the same carrier i use - after the reboot he was asked for the carrier unlock code which he didn;t have or know.
My question is, will the same thing happen for me, or do I have to get in touch with MTN first? (won't be in South Africa for at least another month because of my work).

Why can't i download apps since i updated to i06, i log in with password .am then asked for three security questions fill this out click done and get the answer timed out try again, what is causing this please help.
Settings>General>Reset (at the far bottom)>Reset All Settings
That will ALWAYS work for the "3 Security Questions - Timed Out problem". No data will be lost, but your network settings will be reset.
