Hello @Guthan7,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
I understand that your computer has stopped working after updating the BIOS, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
To undo the changes made in the BIOS during the update, I recommend following the steps in this document on Recovering the BIOS. This should help return the BIOS to the last known working state.
I would also encourage you to post your product number for your computer. Below is a is an HP Support document that will demonstrate how to find your computer's product number. In addition, it will also help if you indicate which operating system you are using; and whether your operating system is 32 or 64 bit. The more information you can provide, the better!
How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
Which Windows operating system am I running?
Is the Windows Version on My Computer 32-bit or 64-bit?
Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, as well as the requested information above. I look forward to your reply!

I had a very similar experience.  Here is how I fixed it.
Download sp41954.exe from here  or search for it.
Double-click on the file to launch the application.  If you are running Vista or higher, close the program, go to where it extracted (C:\swsetup\sp41954) and find the file FirmwareUpdater.exe.  Right-click on the file and select properties.  Click the Compatibility tab and select "Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows XP (Service Pack 3)".  Launch FirmwareUpdater.exe and create a bootable diskette.  If you are running XP, you can create the bootable diskette from the sp41954 directly.
Power off the laptop.  Connect the USB Floppy drive with the newly created diskette to the laptop.  Hold down all four arrow keys while turning on the laptop.  Continue to hold down the four arrow keys until you see either the num-lock or cap-lock key flashing ( don't remember which).  It should be reading from the diskette.  After a minute or so, the laptop should reboot and operate normally.
When I did this, I disconnected everything from the laptop and removed the battery.  I do not know if it was necessary to remove everything or not.
    Hope this helps.

Bios version is the latest 1.A released  on 2011-01-26

Some of the CMOS nonvolatile memory chips are really difficult to clear.  Try doing a clear CMOS as follows:
    1. Pull the power cord or turn of the rear power switch if you have one.
    2. Pull out the CMOS battery (it looks like a coin)
    3. Push the front power switch several times to clear the power caps
    4. Push the clear CMOS button a few times with something like a bent paper clip.  Make sure you feel it click and hold it in a few seconds.
    5. Replace the CMOS battery - make sure the side with the "+" is facing up
    6. Turn on the rear power switch or plug in the power cord.
    7. Hit the front power switch.
If this doesn't work, you will at least know it's not a clear CMOS problem.  It's actually surprising how many people have to pull the battery before the CMOS will clear.

  • Bios Password in A305..Please help..URGENT!!!!

Hi...please help guys..i have a problem with my friends laptop..he accidentally change the bios passwod and forgot it what he put on it..the model is Satellite A305-s6905..i already open it and look for some jumper setting to reset it..but no success..i cant find a word like CMOS clear or CMOS reset..i already download the flash bios on this site so that the bios will reset but..the problem is ,it wont boot first on the DVDROM because you must enter first the password...please please help me...i want to show it on a accredited toshiba repair center but their are asking for the orignal reciept and that reciept is already gone 1 year ago...i wish you could help me guys...our thesis is almost near and we cant finish the thesis because its inside that laptop...

There are thousands of laptops that get stolen annually. To make sure that it is not a stolen laptop, the Toshiba service places demand that you show some documentation proving its yours. One way to do that is to register your computer. In that way you can prove your ownership without having the reciept. The Toshiba techs can access the Registered Computer database and verify that the person at the counter is the legitimate owner even without a receipt.
Did you use a credit card? Maybe the credit card company would have the invoice for your computer, along with the serial number of the computer. Or what about the dealer that sold the computer? Maybe they have a record of the sale, along with the serial nrumber of the computer.
Just think if your computer had been stolen. You wouldn't want a Toshiba tech to remove the Bios password on your computer just because the thief had "forgotten" the password?

  • PLEASE HELP!! MY Toshiba L300 Laptop has black screen after Bios update

Hi, I was looking on Toshiba's website last night for an updated driver/software to fix my windows update which was not working. Whilst looking I had a message pop up saying Bois out of date and there was an updated verion, so I clicked update for my specific laptop, thinking that will be better. A window come up saying do not switch off. The the screen froze, and I could not do anything whilst it slowly updated, then the screen went black and remained that way for a considerable amount of time. I tried rebooting the laptop, it turns on, but bios will not load, the screen just remains black. Can anyone please help me, why would an update be on Toshiba's offical website if it does this?
    Laptop: Toshiba L300-25G
    Model: PSLB8E-0PG007EN
    Serial: 59328582Q

That doesn't appear to be a US model, and this is the forums for Toshiba USA. You may want to contact Toshiba in your region. If it's a European model, you could check the Toshiba Europe forums.

  • BIOS Update causes Blue Screen of Death - PLEASE HELP

    PLEASE HELP!!
After recently reformatting a Lenovo 3000 N200 (XP SP3), I downloaded the Lenovo Care (or whatever it's called), which downloaded a whole lot of updates, drivers....
The last thing that was downloaded was a BIOS Update. Before flashing and reprogramming the BIOS, the program created a backup of the old BIOS.
Since the BIOS Update, I can no longer turn on the laptop without the BSOD (Blue Screen of Death). When I try to turn it on, it shows the Lenovo startup screen, then goes to the "previous attempt was interrupted" menu (the menu where you can choose 'Safe Mode'...), and no matter which option I choose, it starts to show the XP startup screen (with the progress bar), for 1/2 a second, then displays the BSOD for 1/2 a second (too fast too even read what it says or even get the error code).
What can I do to remedy the situation? Can I somehow access the backup of the old BIOS to restore it? Or is there something else I can do?
BTW, When I click F1 on the Lenovo startup screen (to get into the BIOS settings) it shows the BIOS version to be "68ET35WW (V3.03) - which is apparently the latest version for that laptop

If you have restored the device as new and tested it without using your backup and it is still malfunctioning, then you need to make an appointment with the Genius Bar of the nearest Apple Store or Authorized Apple Service provider, depending on your location, and have the hardware checked.

POST is the initial checkdowns prior to the point the OS initiates and the UEFI/BIOS can be accessed. Boot is the actual entering into the OS and desktop.
In your manual, it should explain the location of the clear CMOS button or clear CMOS jumper location.
If nothing helps, the choices are few. Have a shop in your area that has an SPI flash programming device fix it for you, or send the board to an MSI Service Center after submitting and receiving an RMA authorization.

  • Bad BIOS Flashing - Please Help !

    Hello,
I'm having a serious trouble because the BIOS UPDATE failed since I had a power outage while I was updating the BIOS.
Since that, I couldn't get any video output, it's only 8 beeps with the orange light, and then the blue light and nothing happens. Is there a way to prepare an USB KEY with the BIOS updates, initiating the CPU with the Windows+B keys pressed on?
I've tried to apply the BIOS UPDATE SP63535 who had the BIOS version ANP_704.bin
Please HELP ME, thanks a LOT !!!

  • Bios Downgrade please help

    Hi
First of all sorry for my english...ok...I have a problem on my probook 6550b with which I have been dealing for two days now...i format my disk install a fresh copy of Win 7 ultimate 64 bit...I download al the drivers and update my bios...comp starts to working slowly, like laggy...i updated win with all the updates, use nod 32, scan everything, use speedupmypc etc...everything loks ok, but computer is still very slow...so i format again...do the same thing again...no results...So I assume that the problem is in the new version of BIOS...and here are my problems start...i tried do flash with older version but it wound let me(failure) I tried with windows key + b + power button holding 3 sec...i get black screen, fan starts to spining at ful, but nothing happend(i wait for 3min,3 times), and then i cannot power down comp unless i take my battery out..so my question is, is it posible to flash backwards on my laptop, or am i risking to brick my comp?????
    PLEASE HELP!!!

Hm, @Manjunath, does what you suggest actually downgrade the BIOS or simply reset bios settings to the factory default settings? I understood that a BIOS downgrade is not possible in all instances, though this would be clearly stated in the BIOS release notes if a downgrade is not possible after the update.... So if there is no such downgrade warning/statement in any BIOS release notes between the current BIOS and the desired older BIOS, it should be possibly by simply running the HPQFlash.exe with the older BIOS and accepting the prompts/warning that the new BIOS is older than the current BIOS (i.e. a downgrade). If there was a warning/statement in the release notes of a any BIOS between the current BIOS and desired older BIOS, then it wont be possible without specialist tools, software and/or effort (if at all)!
