If you don't know your ID, you can try to find it as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5625. Then you can reset the password as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2617. Of course, you can only do this if it's your ID.

Hi there, can anyone please help? Download itunes and it says The Itunes library .itl file is locked, or on a locked disk or you do not have write permission for this file.
Holding down the shift key while iTunes is opening. That will bring up the 'choose iTunes library' dialog. Select 'Choose LIbrary' from the choices and navigate to your music folder and iTunes music folder.

Have you attempted to reset the SMC? That would be the first step. Hold the left control, option, shift key and the power button for about 5 seconds and release. Then try to reboot. Might as well reset the PRAM as well. Hold command, option, P, R on start up until the machine restarts. If that doesnt' have any affect we'll have to dig deeper into a potential hardware failure.
If this method doesn't work, check the webcam that will tell the problem is on the iSight & WiFi cable. If your webcam is ok, then it'll be the WiFi card problem. Hope it can help ;-)

While trying to import pictures from iPhone to iTunes, iTunes request to make software update and then to restore iPhone. I have cancelled the restore to rpotect pictures. The pictures have not been imported yet, but the iPhone display freezed at ITune connection page. Please help me save pictures and use the iPhone as usual. Restarting of the phone did not work so far.

hello all, i just got done cleaning the dust out of my 1.8 g5 and now when i turn it on it makes 2 small beeps and then all the fans come on real loud and stay on and the light on the front of the unit blinks every once and a while. it blinks 2 times every 5 seconds or so. please help what do i do.all i have connected is the keyboard and monitor help
also there is a red light on inse the computer in the back and its on when i turn the computer on does this help, also the keyboard has no input, the computer will not turn on, i tried starting off a disk, it wont work. anyone please help, this is my fathers computer and i am in deep if i cant figure this out

Please Help! Adobe Form and Access
I have created multiple forms using the Adobe Designer 7.0. These forms are used by about 100 users and I would like to capture the information being keyed. How do I establish a connection from the form to a table in Access, so that the information keyed in the Adobe form will fill the table in my Access database?.....Also is there a book available for the Adobe Designer program?
An easy way to post information to a database would be to put a submit button on your form, and set the target to, for example, an ASP file, which receives the info and dumps it into a database. Direct database connections using ADBC only use DSN's on the local machine. So, if you wanted everyone in your organization to connect to a specific Access file, you would have to set up the DSN on each and every computer that will use the PDF. There is also SOAP capability, but I believe it only works in version 7.0.

Guys please help - our IT guy disappeared and we changed the hosting over the weekend. He did setup exchange server for all the emails so now i am trying to recreate all the settings in bluehost for email and the bluehost is asking whats A record for our
Exchange server. Forgive me but i am not an IT guy... where do i find the A record for our exchange server? I would greatly appreciate it if somebody could point me into that direction.If the DNS A record for mail.mydomainname.com is currently pointing to your Exchange server's external IP address then I would imagine that's setup correctly.
Name servers are those used to find out where to get the DNS records for a domain, eg it tells people doing a DNS lookup the address of your DNS server(s) so they can query them to find the required records. As such I'm unsure whether you actually mean name
servers or not.
Anything that ends in a .local address is definitely a local record, eg it is only used internally on your local network. On the internet there's no such thing as .local, so server1.mywebsite.local definitely wouldn't be the address you'd put into your public
DNS records. Do you mean that in Outlook when you look at the server address that you connect to collect email that it is displaying server1.mywebsite.local? If so then that's completely separate to where mail is delivered.
With the CNAME and MX records I'd suspect that they'd remain the same if they currently point to the mail.mydomain.com address, if they point elsewhere then you might well need to update them.
What confuses me is what is it that's been changed with your hosting? You say you've changed, and presumably bluehost are the new hosting company, but not what has changed to them. Do you mean the domain has transferred to them, or just the website, or your
internet access or something else?. You say that via the bluehost dns editor mail already points to mail.mydomainname.com, so it sounds to me as if the relevant records have already been setup and are working. Is email failing to be sent / received currently? -

Please help, school starts tommorow and this teacher can't connect Network
Hi, just returned to my work at school and I am having a problem connecting to the network at school as I'm a teacher. I just bought a MacBook Pro after 'donating' my ibook G4 to my wife . However, I cannot seem to access the schools network which I use to before on my ibook G4. I did, on the G4, use DAVE to connect and that worked fine. However, I have read and heard that in Leopard and with the MacBook Pro you don't need anything to connect to a PC network. So, after reading this I looked in the finder and, sure enough, I see the "shared" tab with "all". So when I click on "all" I SEE the network I can connect to. HOWEVER, when I double click on the file server I want it says "connection failed". I've even tried to use the DAVE 7.0 to connect (trial version) but that seems to have same issues as well. It mounts the file server but when I click on it it says "connection failed" as well. I tried to go into finder and to "Go" and then "connect to server" but what do I put in this field? whatever I type in this field, it adds an "afp:
" in front of it and says "connection failed". I even went into Terminal and pinged the network and it does that fine..so I'm perplexed..is there something I am not doing? Please help as it's first day of classes tomorrow and I really need to marry up with the network here! There are a couple of issues with using the side bar and DAVE. Mac OS X 10.5 defaults to not displaying mounted volumes on the desktop. In order for mounted volumes to display on the desktop, you have to change a Finder preference, here is how,
- Click on Finder and select Preferences
- Click on the General icon and check the box labeled, Connected servers
- This will allow mounted volumes to display on the desktop
"There is an also issue with Mac OS X 10.5, that will not allow a user to connect to a network server from the side bar, or be able to access the contents of mounted volumes from the side bar (when you select the volume it shows Connection failed). Basically, you will not be able to use the side bar, until the problem is resolved.
The best way to access the contents of a mounted volume is to double click on the desktop icon. There are a couple of other workarounds for the issue, You can change Finder Preferences so that the user's computer is listed in the side bar. Selecting the computer will show a volume list which includes mounted volumes.
You can save an alias of the remote volume in the dock instead of the sidebar. Dock items function properly."
The funny thing is it works when I mount the volume to desktop but the sidebar doesn't work! Is this a Leopard thing? Weird...anyway, adding it using the Go and Connect to server with IP address works now...too bad the sidebar doesn't work though...thoughts? -
PLease Help!! Leopard and Blue Screen
I know there is a lot of discussion out there about a blue screen after installing Leopard. Well I had leopard installed and working for a while and then one day i started having issued where iTunes would lock up my MacBook and I would have to restart the MacBook because i could not stop it from "determining gap less playback" It would do it every time i plugged in my iPhone or my iPod. So everything was working great other than the iTunes issue. Then one night while my wife was using the MacBook it turned off on her so she proceeded to turn it back on only to have it boot up to a blue screen. Keep in mind we had been running Leopard for a few months this was not a brand new install. I purchased my MacBook used from a fried who did not provide me with the CD/DVD's to restore the MacBook since he lost them in his move. So I have searched far and wide trying to resolve this issue. I have booted into Single user mode and did the command prompt options...
1. Reboot into single-user mode (hold Cmd-S while booting machine)
2. Follow the directions OSX gives you when you get to the prompt (I think these were them - just type the two commands it tells you to):
fsck -fy /
/sbin/mount -uw /
3. Remove the following files:
rm -rf /Library/Preference Panes/Application Enhancer.prefpane
rm -rf /Library/Frameworks/Application Enhancer.framework
rm -rf /System/Library/SystemConfiguration/Application Enhancer.bundle
rm -rf /Library/Preferences/com.unsanity.ape.plist
4. Exit, to continue booting normally

restart
I have tried to boot the MacBook in safe mode with no luck. I think i have done everything i can. I called Apple support and was told that the MacBook is out of warranty by 408 days. Can i buy the restore CD/DVD? Is there something that I am missing? What am I not doing? Please help me???Does the Blue Screen happen after the Gray screen with the Apple logo and the spinning gear below it or when you turn on the computer you see the blue screen right away? You can try resetting the PRAM. Turn on the computer while holding the CommandOption+PR. These buttons will reboot your computer manually so let go after you saw the computer restart by itself. You also mentioned that you installed Leopard on your computer. So do you still have the Leopard install disk with you? If you do, boot from that disk. With the Leopard disk inside your optical drive, press the C key while turning it on. Once booted, try do repair the disk permissions and disk in Disk Utility.

Specs;
G5 power mac dual core (2.0)
Power pc 970 mp
Late 2005
I don't have an apple mouse/keyboard
I just use $40 wireless mouse keyboard.
Upon purchase everything seemed to work as it should....booted up, open and closing apps without freezing.
However I never had it connected to the Internet when I navigated through system.
I got it home and installed a 1 tb harddrive (WD mainstream desktop) from future shop. When I installed it in tower I had to buy a sata 2.0 cable as there was not one available for use. Booted up fine and installation went as my research said it should. Turned it on next day....
Tried to update iTunes and this is where it started actin up. First just froze had to turn off, second time wouldn't even boot up plus fans went into overdrive. Third forth fifth sixth boots fans sometimes kick in, now whenever I try to do any kind of action it freezes. (Only when I click something)
I read about possible power suppy issue, so I plugged tower and monitor into seperAte plugs,
They may however be in same circuit because they at in the same wall...would a power conditioner fix this?
Anyway still froze on any action tried...just opened disk drive...opened then frooze...?
Anybody have any ideas??

I ended up taking it in to geeksquad at best buy, they had it for 3 days and also told me after the fact that neither of the techs working on it knew much about macs :-( needless to say I requested my
Money back due to the fact that the service I paid for could not be completed and literally couldn't tell me anything more than what's below.
They told me that they could not dock it with thier diagnostic machine, kept restarting on them and the one fella said it was overheating but had no idea why. When I brought it home again I tried it once more computer boots up to desktop as usual, this time had a asterisk window saying " the computer was restarted after mac OSX quit unexpectedly" however my cursor was again locked in the top left of the screen. Would not move, so I could not view the report, shortly after fans kicked into overdrive. I'm losing hope for this machine rapidly. I'm all ears when it comes to anything I may be able to do.
Should I try an actual apple keyboard/mouse just to eliminate that possible?
If you have ideas AWSOME, If not, no worries, ill take it into the mac store and see what they say
P.s the machine is clean inside little to no dust and the tech said he was going to clean it out, hard to tell if he did because it was clean clean before I brought it to him.
