Try deleting and recreating the account on the iPad.

Mail wont send emails - Help!

Hello!
Unable to send emails from my Mac (G5 OSX 10.5.8) using Mail.
Dialogue box says "Verify that you have addressed this message correctly. Check your SMTP server settings in Mail Preferences and verify any advanced settings with your system administrator."
Email addresses are fine (in use for years) and smtp address is good too.
Receiving incoming emails without problem.
Connection Doctor shows all is good for my 3 PoP accounts.
Problems started on returning from overseas trip. Abroad I use a Mac Pro which I upgraded to snow leopard. I also use MobileMe. The Mac Pro had issues sending mails too - using connections which had worked faultlessly for years. Had to restart it to send emails waiting in Outbox.
Any fixes or help for me?

Is the problem that Mail will not send ANY emails or that you cannot Reply to some emails.
If the former, look at your SMTP settings (not just the SMTP address) to ensure that your port number and authentication type are correct for your current ISP. Being abroad might have reset these.
If the latter, look at the "Send To address" which Mail has infrequently corrupted since Panther.
Sometimes if you Reply to an email sent from: <[email protected]>, Mail creates the corrupted address: "[email protected]><[email protected]" <[email protected]> which will not send successfully.

Are you sure it's a .Mac address, or is it a MobileMe address?
i can not send mail to her new address
Are you trying to send mail to that address from a different address, or from her own address?
What are the specific settings for the account (Incoming and Outgoing servers, port numbers for each, authentication method, and SSL status)?

I desperately need help with Mail, specifically sending

For Starters: I am on OSX 10.9.2 and am trying to use mail 7.2.

I cannot send. I have been at this for hours and hours and hours. Here are the details.
my mail server however is s1.sistercompany.net
I can receive email just fine. I can also send mail just find having set this up on my iphone and also in thunderbird (which i hate hate hate hate hate hate hate, which is why I am desperate to set up mail)
The settings in thunderbird are as follows:
Servername: s1.sistercompany.net
port: 465
Authentication method: normal password
Connection Security: SSL/TLS
However, I just can't get this to work in Mail. When I write an email and hit send I get a popup that says:
Cannot send message using the server s1.sistercompany.net
The certifcate for this server is invalid.
Now, my tech guy says yeah the certifacte is invalid because you are going through sistercompany server, there should be some way to just accept the certifcate anyway (but he has never used mail before).
So I have serached around and come up with this: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11706
Which tells me to use the verify certificate dialogue, which I would do except there is no verify certificate dialog. Any thoughts?

I don't have a problem watching the Lost episode on abc.com, using a stock MacBook with 512MB RAM. I don't know what technology abc.com uses in their viewer, but I have Flip4Mac and the latest version of Flash player installed.

Mail wont send attachments..

My mail program (2.2.1) wont send emails with attachments, particularly images. It places them in the outbox, sometimes without the attachment. If it is with the attachment, when I open them up and try to send them, it crashes the entire program.
This is particularly frustrating as I am a photographer who needs this desperately...
I'm not sending attachments larger than 10M as I know this is my limit, I've looked through previous posts and tried deleting plists and rebuilding things. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be. I had a g4 12inch powerbook and I had no problems with this....

Do you get an error message when this happens?
when I open them up and try to send them, it crashes the entire program.
Does it really crash (i.e. quit unexpectedly) or does it freeze (i.e. become unresponsive)?

Verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described here:
The Repair functions of Disk Utility: what's it all about?
Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Network, choose Network Port Configurations from the Show popup menu, and make sure that the configuration used to connect to Internet appears at the top of the list. Leave checked (enabled) only the port configuration needed to connect to Internet and Built-in Ethernet (in that order if not the same), uncheck (disable) the rest of network port configurations, and see whether that helps — if it doesn’t, turn ON again the ones you want enabled.
Do you have any Mail plug-ins? In the Finder, go to each of the following folders (if they exist). What do you see there?
/Library/InputManagers/
/Library/Mail/Bundles/
~/Library/InputManagers/
~/Library/Mail/Bundles/
To make accurately reporting this information easier, you may open /Applications/Utilities/Terminal, type the following command (you can just copy it here and paste it in Terminal), and press <Return>. You can then copy the output of that command from Terminal and paste it in your reply to this post:

Apple mail wont send or recieve

Until recently everything with Mail has been fine. However for some reason my iMac wont send or recive mail from one of my domains. My laptop, ipad and iphone will send and recieve mail OK from the domain. The email settings on the iMac, iPad, iPhone and macbook are all the same. ISP says the problem is not at their end. Any ideas?
Note that mail will send and recieve OK from another one of my domians across all platforms.

Yahoo mail NOT sending. Help please!

I changed the password on my yahoo mail. Now it will not send mail. Will receive, though. Error says not connecting to server. I have done all the usual troubleshooting -- delete account, restart, etc. i also tried using my LTE plan instead of wifi. still gets stuck in outbox. Yahoo support was no help. Suggestions?

You can also try downloading a different browser and see if the problem still exists, I have never had this problem, and I have Yahoo, there have many issues with them, that I thought were at my end, but then they would come back with, oh we changed this that is why I mentioned this.
You can try with this and see if the problem still happens and this might suggest the former.
If nothing else this would also help as a diagnostic tool.

Mail wont open, please help!

Mail won't open! its there on the strip on the desktop but there is a ? over the icon and I can't find mail at all in applications or system pref's.

OK, if it's working in two accounts it must be somehwere .
All the applications that are to be shared by all users of the Mac should be located in Macintosh HD>Applications - is Mail located there when you are logged in to your account - not in the Applications folder of your User Account?

Mail wont stay online HELP!

I cannot get my mail to stay connected. It either keeps going offline or keeps asking me for my password. When it wont connect it says to verify password and username (which are correct every time). When it has server issues it just says pop3 and port 995 failed. I thought my icloud mail and live mail may have been conflicting so I unchecked the use this server only box for each one and have not had the server error since. But now the password constantly being asked is the main issue. How do I fix this? I've tried several things already.

I believe they both were not connecting but now it just keeps asking for my live email password every few minutes. I can send mail during the the few seconds I type the password and hope it goes before it asks again. I have not received any emails though for the past 2 days.

Help with mail not sending

I have had an apple mail account for 2 yrs, never had an issue. When I upgraded to a family account 3 months ago, no issues. I now have my main account and a second 'family account". In the last week my mail keeps hanging, saying it cannot find server, I have to keep going into the drop down menu and using my gmail account to send the apple mail.
I have gone into preferences and reset the outgoing server, and unticked only use this server (??) - but to no avail - anyone know what I am doing wrong?

It's possible your Mail preferences are corrupted. Try going to ~/Library/Preferences and deleting the com.apple.mail.plist file, then restart Mail and setup your accounts again. See if that fixes the issue.

Mail wont send! error message reads..

After no trouble what so ever I now cant send e-mails and have an outbox full of work e-mails I need to send...
the error message that comes up reads:
"This message could not be delivered and will remain in your Outbox until it can be delivered.
The SMTP server "smtp.virgin.net" doesn't support CRAM-MD5 authentication. Please check your account settings and try again."
I have not altered anything on my account.
Any ideas?

just to let you know i phoned virgin this morning. very helpful. said they had changed the settings and knew exactly what i was talking about - to go into preferences and change md5 challenge response to password. am at work just now so will try when i get home. to phone them back and they would take me through it step by step. hope this helps

Mail wont send emails

I have had a look at some of the forums around trying to come up with a solution still I cant find one.
I have 1 email pending in my outbox and it wont let me send them saying my password is incorrect. It seems to be just recently when I changed my hotmail pasword. I have gone into the Mail preferences and changed the SMTP outgoing mail but it still comes up with it when ever i need to send an email.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mail wont send or receive messages

I have 4 different mailboxes set up on mail. I noticed earlier that several messages that I had sent were just witting in the sent folder like they were sending but they never would go. I tried to rebuild one of the mailboxes which is an imap account, but it simply deleted all the messages in my inbox? Its like mail is no longer communication with the mail servers? I have two different mail providers and it is doing this with both of them. I have also tried to restart several times with no luck.

Mac mail wont send from new address

I wonder if anyone can help me...I recently purchased a mac mail address for my girlfriend and i set it up. (anyone who has done this before will know that all you have to do is put your username and password in to set the @mac address up and all the rest is done for you). However, i can not send mail to her new address, nor can i send anything from her address. I can though send her mail on me.com, and i can also send and receive me.com mail from her mac. I have no idea what is going on. HEELLPP!!

HT2500 Mac mail wont send or receive

Mac mail stoped working. I can get it on my icloud but can not send or receive in mac mail. I got a pop up on mac mail and answered it quickly....I may have messed something up?
