  • Please HELP me with installation - java.lang.noclassdeffounderror:

    Please Help! For school we need to install JAVA. I installed JDK 5.0 and id did not work. I got exception in thread "main" java.lang.noclassdeffounderror: hello. I was using Texpad to write, compile, and run it. In short I deleted all JAVA 5.0 using My Computer program removal. I installed JAVA 1.4..2_10 and I am still getting that same error. I want the JAVA 1.4..2_10 to be installed and not JAVA.5.0.
    My System Variable CLASSPATH still shows C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_03\lib\ext\QTJava.zip. My System Variable PATH has nothing as far as JAVA in it. MY PATHEXT has JS and JSE amoung other things in it. My System Variable QTJAVA still has Files\Java\jre1.5.0_03\lib\ext\QTJava.zip in it.
    Please tell me step-by-step how I can fix this. I never updated these variables before. What do I need to type and where? What do I need to get rid of or change?
    PLEASE HELP!
    Thanks,
    Jim

    I left my System variable classpath --> C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_03\lib\ext\QTJava.zip I left my QT JAVA --> C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_03\lib\ext\QTJava.zip I added Path --> ;C:\j2sdk1.4.2_10\bin and then restarted my computer. I added hello file in C:\j2sdk1.4.2_10\bin and tried to compile it under a new name and it would not compile. it gave me the error below. I was able to compile other java program in my other folder in a different directory. I am still getting the same error messages/ Anything else I should try? IS there anyplace or person I can call who would come and fix this? Something is wrong. This should not be giving me this much trouble. All The Java directions on other websites tell me to do different things. I am so confused... please help.
    I get this during the compilenow:
    javac: invalid flag: C:\j2sdk1.4.2_10\bin\helloa.txt
    Usage: javac <options> <source files>

  • HELP!!! java.lang.ClassFormatError: (Truncated class file)

    Hello all,
    I'm writing a ClassLoader and the funniest things are happening. If I load a compiled class for the first time after compilation everything is ok. Once I change the class and recompile it, it starts putting out java.lang.ClassFormatError: (Truncated class file). If I alter the changes back to normal and recompile. It works again. Is there some sort of buffer which keeps the once loaded class in memory, even after rebooting?
    Please help, I'm at a loss

    I use JBoss 3.0.6 and sdk 1.4. In my program, classes are create and load on the fly. Then using Reflection API I called some
    methods in the dynamically created class(this class not
    write into a file and it is taken as a String variable).
    I refferd this url as a guid to write class loader and compiler.(actually same thing i copied
    from there and change it's name Pmat1 to StringCompiler)
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?thread=347467&forum=4&message=1439418
    When I run this as a normal application, it is work well. Then I try to run it in a jboss and it will give the above error.
    In here I Wote some EJBs and struts also and i called the methodds in the StringCompiler(Pamat1) class in a EJB. Thilina is
    the name of the dynamically created calss and StringCompiler is the class that includes the class loader and compiler methods
    as in the above url. qVoiceManagerEJB has a getvxmlString method. Whithin this method
    i called required the methods in the String compiler.
    Can u some body help me. Thanx in advanced for any help.

  • Can someone please help me with a java assignment

    Hey all,
    I have a favor to ask I have a program that I need for my java class, I have the just of it but I can't figure out the rest, can anybody please help me here is the directions:
    Let's revisit fibonacci numbers, looking at it as a process involving iteration and arrays. Create an array fib[] of 101 elements. Make fib[0] = 0 and fib[1] = 1. Then, in an iterative process going from 2 to 100, compute fib[k]. These numbers get quite large; make it an array of double.
    Then, let the user select a number (such as 7) and have the application display the corresponding finbonacci number (in this case 13). Do this as often as the user wants. If a number larger than 100 is provided, display an error message, but don't terminate the program.
    Here is what I have so far: Please add on and feel free to return to me please, thank you:
    // This is an application that transforms numbers into their Fibonacci number
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class Fibonacci {
         public static void main( String args[] ){
              int k; //simple counter
              int numSize; // how many numbers were entered
              int theNum; // the number entered by the user
              String response; //response of the user
              // define the array
              double fib[] = new double[ 101 ];
              // read in the numbers into an array
              k = 0;
              response = JOptionPane.showInputDialog( "Enter the first number" );
              theNum = Integer.parseInt( response );
              while (theNum > 0){
                   if (theNum > 100)
              k++;
              fib [ 1 ] = 1;
              fib [ 2 ] = 1;
              response = JOptionPane.showInputDialog( "Enter the next number, negative to end" );
              theNum = Integer.parseInt( response );
         } // end while
         numSize = k;

  • Help with StuckThread in java.lang.String.equals(String.java:619)

    I periodically get a stuck Execute thread on my Weblogic 8.15 server
    during a call to a Stateless Session Bean. When I do thread dumps, the
    thread is always stuck in the same place (in
    java.lang.String.equals(String.java:619) or in the call immediately above it
    java.util.LinkedList.indexOf(LinkedList.java:397)). Even though the thread
    dump indicates that the thread is in a runnable state, if I do multiple
    thread dumps over a period of time, the stack trace always indicates that
    the thread is in the same place. The thread remains stuck until Weblogic is
    restarted. Other client applictions can make session bean calls, but each
    stuck thread seems to still take up lots of CPU time. I have let the stuck
    threads run overnight, and the stack trace from the thread dump always shows
    them executing the same String/LinkedList code. In each case, our code is
    trying to iterate over a collection
    Does anybody know what could cause this problem, and how to fix it? I get
    StuckThreadMaxTime errors in the log:

  • Please help me with JACOB: Java-Com Bridge

    While experimenting with Jacob 1.13, I am not even able to run the sample code that comes with the source package. I get an error as below:
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: createInstanceCan you help?
    And, is there another way to access MS Word? Basically what I want to do is search and find some text in Word documents and apply some styles to it.
    Thanks in advance for your advice!

    I am guessing that underneath the code you see, it uses the MS Word DLLs to emulate MS Word. So if you don't actually have Word installed in your machine you won't be able to do this.

  • Please help, I am having java.rmi.UnmarshalException.

    First I would like to show you the interface code i want to implement, following is the code.
    package bis.opencontrol.opcconnector;
    import java.rmi.Remote;
    import java.rmi.RemoteException;
    import javax.swing.tree.*;
    public interface ReceiveNodeInterface extends Remote
    DefaultMutableTreeNode getRootNode(String x) throws RemoteException;
    The server class which implements this interface is as follows...
    package bis.opencontrol.opcconnector;
    public class RMIServiceToSendNodesHierarchy extends java.rmi.server.UnicastRemoteObject implements ReceiveNodeInterface
    public DefaultMutableTreeNode getRootNode(String x) throws RemoteException
    System.out.println(x);
    return(TimerToGetNodesHierarchy.getRootNode());
    public RMIServiceToSendNodesHierarchy() throws RemoteException
    try
    thisAddress= (InetAddress.getLocalHost()).toString();
    catch(Exception e)
    throw new RemoteException("can't get inet address.");
    thisPort = 1099;
    System.out.println("Starting RMI service at address = "+thisAddress+" and PortNo = "+thisPort);
    System.getProperties().setProperty("java.security.policy", "wideopen.policy");
    if(System.getSecurityManager() == null)
    System.setSecurityManager(new RMISecurityManager());
    try
    registry = LocateRegistry.createRegistry(thisPort);
    registry.rebind("RMIServiceToSendNodesHierarchy", this);
    The client class which will send request to server is as follows...
    package tagbrowser;
    public class TagBrowser extends javax.swing.JFrame
    ReceiveNodeInterface rmiServer;
    public TagBrowser() throws MalformedURLException
    getRootNodeIntoTree();
    void getRootNodeIntoTree() throws MalformedURLException
    String text = "Please, send us the root node.";
    try
    registry = LocateRegistry.getRegistry(serverAddress, 1099);
    String[] list = registry.list();
                   if( list == null )
                        throw new RemoteException( "list == null" );
    else
    for (int k=0; k < list.length; k++)
    System.out.println("registry" + k + ": " + list[k].toString());
    System.getProperties().setProperty("java.security.policy", "wideopen.policy");
    if(System.getSecurityManager() == null)
    System.setSecurityManager(new RMISecurityManager());
    rmiServer = (ReceiveNodeInterface)(registry.lookup("RMIServiceToSendNodesHierarchy"));
    rootNode = rmiServer.getRootNode(text);
    catch(RemoteException e){
    e.printStackTrace();
    catch(NotBoundException e){
    e.printStackTrace();
    Well, when I run this rmi client application I get this following error...

    BUILD SUCCESSFUL (total time: 1 second)

    System.out.println("Starting RMI service at address = "+thisAddress+" and PortNo = "+thisPort);That's not true unless you call super(1099) inside this constructor. So at this point you are printing misleading information.
    System.getProperties().setProperty("java.security.policy", "wideopen.policy");
    if(System.getSecurityManager() == null)
    System.setSecurityManager(new RMISecurityManager());
    }You normally don't need a security manager in an RMI server. You can delete all this.
    package tagbrowser;I would expect to see either import bis.opencontrol.opcconnector.* or import bis.opencontrol.opcconnector.ReceiveNodeInterface here. So there is clearly something wrong with your project structure. I suspect you have copied ReceiveNodeInterface from the server package to the client. That isn't valid. The remote interface is the same at both client and server.
    I am having java.rmi.UnmarshalExceptionWell, actually you are having java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: bis.opencontrol.opcconnector.ReceiveNodeInterface
    at sun.rmi.registry.RegistryImpl_Stub.lookup(Unknown Source)
    due to the error described above. This also implies that bis.opencontrol.opcconnector.ReceiveNodeInterface needs to be available to the client via its classpath, i.e. usually via the same JAR that the client classes are in.

  • Help needed with JNI -  java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError

    I need some help with JNI. I am running on Sun Solaris 7 using their CC compiler. I wrote a simple java program that calls a native method to get a pid. Everything work until I use cout or cerr. Can anyone help? Below is what I am working with.

    Is it possible for you to paste the deployment command that was executed for the above failure? You could try doing a manual install. Before executing the FPInstallDP.xml during the manual install add the following jar to your classpath
    ${MW_HOME}/oracle_common/jlib/commons-cli-1.0.jar.
