Please help me sync my nano to Entourage contacts!

I use Entourage X for Mac 10.1 as my address book. Is there any way to dowload my contacts from Entourage to my ipod nano? And then have them sync regularily? Or do I first have to copy them to the Mac Address Book? The nano users guide suggest you can only sync contacts off the Mac Address Book.

Welcome to the forums!
You can use a software to sync your Entourage contacts with Apple Address Book or you can simply use drag and drop from Entourage to Address Book by the Finder then apply sync into iTunes preferences so the iPod will synchronize with your AB contacts recently updated.

Just got a new ipod nano for Christmas want to set up on my lap top but I don't know where to plug it in to get the set up assistant. I have a packard bell lap top and the only place that you seem to be able to plug it in is the USB port but it says not to do that in the instructions. When you do plug it in there it just comes up with ipod folder in the e drive and nothing happens on the Ipod. Please help how do I get up the set up assistant???

PLEASE help...my Nano keeps shuffling and won't stop

Can anyone help me? I click on "music"-"artists"-"the artists name"-"the album"-"the song" and instead of playing the song, it just shuffles though every song on that album without stopping then goes back to the main menu. I have checked all the settings and shuffle is turned off....why is it doing this and any ideas on how to fix it? I have reset the Nano and it doesn't help.

I have the same problem. I've had my iPod video for no more than two weeks and just yesterday it started doing this. It doesn't do it on every album but certain ones. I haven't tried all of them as I have about 100 albums on my iPod right now.
If anyone has any idea why it's doing this or an idea for a salution, please help!

PLEASE HELP!! Ipod Nano formatting for 12 hours now!

Hi... please can you help me.
I have just bought an ipod nano 2gb and im using windows xp pro. I inserted the itunes cd as the guide told me to and after clicking next a few times it asked me to plug in my ipod to check if it needs formatting. I did this and it has been formatting ever since!!! 12 hours ago now! the bar on the box just gets to the end and then goes back to the start again and the nano screen just continually flashes do not disconnect.
What do i do? Please help me!!!

Please help - problems with iPod Nano

I saw a page in my Popular Science magazine and it had iPod Linux. So I went to the website installed it, and it worked!!! But the problem is , is that when I plug it in to my computer, it charges but won't show up as a drive. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, ive had my nano for 3 months now, and this is the first problem ive had with it. i was updating my library on itunes and decided to update my iPod as well. when i plugged in the iPod and waited for iTunes to open, nothing happened, and the lock appeared at the top of my nano. the backlight has been on for around 10 minutes now, and i have no control of any of the functions. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Try apple's first "r" suggestion:
1. Toggle hold switch on and off
2. Hold menu and select until the apple logo appears.
-If that doesn't work you should stop the USB device using windows.
To do this:
using XP- near the clock you should see and arrow above a device (when scrolled above it says "safely remove hardware"), double click this and stop the USB port. Remove your iPod from the computer.
using 2000- Go to my computer (found on desktop or start menu), scroll down until you see the name of your iPod. Right click the icon of your iPod and click the "eject" choice.
If necessary reset your iPod again, following the ejection of your nano.
Let me know if this works. I'm having a bit of trouble myself involving iTunes not recognizing my iPod and the photos being deleted every time I connect my iPod to my computer<<[only solution is restoring my iPod every time to get the photos onto it]

I received an Ipod Nano for christmas and ive put my songs on it but when i go to play them i press play and it flicks through all the songs in the play list without playing them!

Please help! My ipod nano 1GB is doing wierd things!!!

I just got it less than a week ago so I am really new at this. My ipod was fine all day until this afternoon when I was listening to a song, then I noticed that it had stopped playing music so I looked at the screen and it showed the ipod skipping songs on its own. My ipod has a full battery and isn't on suffle. Every time I go to my list of songs and select a song the ipod starts going through the songs and will not stop until I press pause. If I press play again it then goes back to skipping songs until it has finished the list, then it goes back to the main menu. Please help me! I don't know what my ipod nano is doing!!!

This afternoon I sync'd my phone to move some new downloaded songs, I pulled my phone off the docking station and I lost all my contacts.
please tell me they are somewhere in itunes. I have no idea how to move them back.
anyone have any ideas.

roaminggnome is correct in that you should be syncing your contacts with whatever contact management software you are using on your computer.
You can sync contacts with Windows Contacts, which comes pre-installed with Vista.
To sync both contacts and calendars you'll need either Outlook 2003 or Outlook 2007. All of these programs need to be opened and setup (at least create one contact) prior to syncing per:

If the contact information is in one of those programs, the content should be synced back to the iPhone the next time you sync.
If you weren't syncing to one of those programs. It is possible that the contacts may be in your iTunes backup.
If you haven't tried another sync since you noticed the issue, leave the iPhone disconnected from the PC for now.
Open iTunes.
Open Preferences from the Edit Menu.
Click on the Devices tab.
Check the list of backups. If there is one there that corresponds to the time when you last synced with your contacts on the iPhone, and the sync was not interrupted in progress, it may contain the contacts.
If you tried reconnecting and re-syncing after you noticed the contacts issue, the backup may not contain any recoverable data.
While you're in the Preferences, put a check in the "Disable Automatic syncing for iPods and iPhones."
Connect the iPhone.
Right-click on the iPhone under Devices and choose "Restore from Backup."
If the contacts are restored, make sure you sync them to a contact management program from now on -- and you may want to check with that program's website on how to backup the data in the program as well.

After Indesign crashing repeatedly for 2 hours due to a recovered file (I saved as, I exported, I imported the pages into a new document) I decided to reinstall my version of creative suite 5. The problem is that my serial number is an update. My original version from CS is 2. I am not given the opportunity to insert the original serial number on installation, so Adobe does not recognise my update serial number as a functioning version of the program.
I have spent 3 disappointing hours (and thousands of euros on the original versions of the Adobe creative suite - because I thought that paying gave me technical support) and Adobe say that this forum is my only remedy for both a fix and advice. PLEASE HELP.
