Please help motherboard(s) won't turn on

I know it was an asus, shame on me. I returned the Asus, and the pins were bent I believe in transport so no warranty and bought a new MSI Z77A-G45 motherboard. Assembled the system again. Still no luck
Action for 200ms en then dead again.. I was fearing for the pins on the motherboard, I thought maybe I'm an idiot and Im doing something wrong with connection the cpu. But the pins are not bent so that's not it. I removed everything just a bare board. Plug in the power supply and nothing. Same problem.
I don't believe all these boards are DOA. The changes of that are so minor. All I could think of next is the PSU. I connected the PSU to an older system boots just fine. Also just tried another PSU on this new motherboard.. same problem tries to go on but fails imminently.
I googled and saw that like I thought a motherboard without a cpu should atleast go on, and maybe beep that the cpu is missing. But it should turn on. In my case it doesn't.
Also when I plug the extra 4 pin next to the 24 pin connector on the motherboard it won't go on at all. Nothing nada, remove the 4 pin and it will try for a split second and die. (like stated above)
I'm totally lost in this and I humbly like to ask some advice. I know in my last topic I've been a bit harsh and msi bashing.
Btw, the supplier tested the first MSI board and found it dead as well. So somehow I dont think these problems are connected to the first MSI board.

Refer to page 25 in regards to Jpwr1 & Jpwr2
Re-install the mobo into your case after counting the stand offs and comparing them to the holes in the mobo after refering to page 24 of the manual.
Install 2 sticks of ram for dual channel operations as seen on page 26 of the manual.
Install your cpu and hook up BOTH jpwr1 & jpwr2 make sure you hook all 24 pins ups
Then hook up the case connectors (page 35-40)
Try to start it at this point/ w/o the discrete vga and let us know what happens. At worst with a bad cpu, it will spin up for a moment and enter a boot loop.
Ofcourse this isn't my setup as I started. I had it all wired up and connected. Inclusing memory, vga, ssd etc. But it wouldn't start, and from that point you start removing part after part to get to the point where it will start. In this case it won't.

Okay so this all happened months ago when ios7 came out. I tried to update my iPhone 4S software straight off of my phone in the settings to ios7 and it wouldn't work. So than I hooked my iphone up to my computer and went on iTunes and tried to update from there manually. Everything was working it said like 95% done updating but than it said this operation can't be done. Assuming your phone was never jailbroken, try the following:
Install the latest version of iTunes on your computer if it isn't there already from apple.com/itunes
Reboot your computer
Connect the phone to a USB 2 port directly on your computer, not to a USB hub. If it is a desktop or tower computer use a port on the back, not on the front
Disable your antivirus and firewall
Launch iTunes
Connect the USB cable to the computer, but not to the phone
On the phone hold the HOME and SLEEP buttons for EXACTLY 10 seconds, then release the SLEEP button but continue holding the HOME button - if an Apple logo appeared you held too long; the screen should be black when you release the SLEEP button.
While still holding the HOME button connect the end of the USB cable to the phone
Wait until iTunes acknowledges the phone, then release the HOME button.
The phone should now restore. If it doesn't note the error number and post back.

Please Help! MBP Won't Turn On... T_T

So, my beloved MBP (2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo) finally bit the dust after years of service. Today, after work, when I press the power button, the sleep light turns on and I hear the faint sound of hard disk activation for a second. The screen stays black and there is never a startup chime. I've changed the RAM and hooked it up to an external monitor, but the monitor gets no signal and the MBP still does not turn on (same symptoms). After I leave it like this for 30+ minutes, nothing changes, but the laptop does get warm.
So, is the motherboard dead? Please help!!!

Your MBP has the nVidea 8600M GT chipset that is the subject of the Apple Repair Extension Program (REP) that the article details. Apple Stores and AASPs have a test gadget that will determine if the nVidea chipset has failed. If it has, the repair is free to you for a period of four years from date of purchase whether you have AppleCare or not. The repair consists of installing a new logic board.
As you are in NYC, there should be an Apple Store nearby.
If they determine the chipset has not failed, then you have the option of asking for a "Depot Repair." This is a flat fee service that pretty much fixes anything they find wrong as long as the case does not show evidence of damage. The fee is around US$300--much cheaper than a new computer. I do not know if the replaced DVD drive will negate your qualification for this service.
One late-breaking thought: if you use headphones, can you here the startup chimes?

HT2523 textedit won't let me open a saved page; it won't let me save a version of a page; I go to Finder-Get info & all looks ok, but isn't - please help. I can't turn textedit off or else I lose the few pages that I was working on & that went to the doc

I also have Jolly's problem. I found the iMovie 9.0.9 folder and tried to launch the older version of iMove. It would not launch. I removed all of the iMovie preferences from the Preferences folder, removed iMove 10 from the applications folder, and restarted my Mac. iMove 9.0.9 still won't launch and I can't access my videos created with the older version of iMovie. Is there a way to uninstall iMovie 10 and reinstall iMovie 9.0.9?
I am running Yosemitie on a iMac.

Help please respond my iphone won't turn on

It's been charging all night last night and all day this morning and you know when it is in the process of turning on and the apple comes up, well every single time after the apple comes up it doesn't turn on normal, the apple just disappears and the entire screen goes black with just a loading circle in the center and it has been doing this for over 12 hours. I've tried to reboot it by holding down the circle button and the top button together and it turns of completely that way and then I turn it back on but it still goes to that black screen with the loading circle. Long story short, my phone won't turn on. Please respond if you know a way to fix this.

Here are steps to get DFU Mode: Open iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to computer. (some turn off iPhone here, I do not) Hold both home and power buttons for exactly 10 seconds, release power button, keep holding home button until iPhone recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode. Usually takes 10-20 seconds of holding the home button. If the iPhone screen is black (blank) the iPhone is in DFU Mode.

Guys, I really need help. I shut my computer down a few days ago, and when I turned it on, it won't accept my password in thee login window. I then tried resetting the password from the master Install CD, but it won't allow me. When it asks me which drive I would like to reset the password from, if I select the CD, then the password boxes will allow me to write in them. However, if I select the hard drive, the spinning cartwheel comes up, spins for 10 seconds then the screen dissappears and goes back to the main menu of the install CD. Please help, why can't I log in?

Okies, my sister was on my macbook pro all night, and i just finished updating some program (the mac version of winzip?) and the comp froze and had little rectangles all over it, like tiny TVs with bad reception on it O.o
So i hold down the Power button to reset it, then turn it on, the little rectangles are there when the grey screen with the apple on it, then it goes to a blue screen and stops
I can't do anything! I even have my install disk in it cos i thought i might need to restart it that way and now it won't come out T_T
Please help! I don't know what ive done, i've only had it...less than a week!

Couple of things I'd do here:
1. Restart your computer.
2. While the computer restarts, press the trackpad button and hold it down through the boot process. During the normal bootup process, this should tell the computer to eject the CD.
After that, follow these steps:
1. Turn off your computer again.
2. Unplug all cables including the power cable
3. Take out the laptop's battery.
4. Press the power button and hold it down for 5 seconds.
5. Put back in the battery.
6. Plug in the power cord
7. Press the power button to start the computer
8. As soon as you here the "bong" noise (the startup noise) press and hold down the following keys: Command Option P R (that's four keys all together including the letters P and R)
9. In a few seconds, the computer will go "bong" again (i.e., present the startup sound). Once that happens, let go of the keys and let the computer finish booting.
Did this work to solve your screen problems?

890gxm g65 a good riable stble board and is it good for overclocking and unlocking an amd phenom II 960T to a 5 core?

.I've rma to msi 3 times already the first rma was a 785 gtm-e45 the problem was the mosfests blown on me. K they replaced it with a 785 gt e63 and it died bios flash.. i rma 785 gt e63 they replaced with 785g e53. it died. am getting ready to ship the 785g e53 back to msi i paid 10$ with my credit card for the price difference between the msi 890gxm-g65 i ask them to replace it with. before i ship it bakc is there anything i can do i try everything to fix this mobo 785g e53 swap powersupplies swap ram swap harddrives everything except cpu. my specs is
psu: coolmax 600watt
ram: g skill ripjaws x 1.5 volt cas9 1600 2x4gb 8gb
cpu: amd phenom II 960T
OS: windows 7
i aint too long got the 785g e53 i aint even used it for 2 days untill it blown i had over 2 weeks aint been able to use cause i didnt have ddr3 ram to put in cause i had ddr2. see i upgraded form ddr2 from the previous motherboards. i talked to donald from msi the guy who's hard to understand. i ask told him i would like to upgrade from ddr2 to ddr3 so he shiped the 785g e53.

see what happen is i was updating with windows update it got to the 10 update out of 11 and then the computer just flipped off on me, K I turned on an no video just 4 leds on my mobo active phase switching no northbridge led not showing on. so i reset cmos. and still nothing just 4 leds no north bridge led. Ok i then swapped the parts the ram the psu and still nothing. so i took the heatsink off cpu to see if its getting hot and u no what it wasn't an antoher thing am notgetting a light on my case power switch but i can still turn on with button ad yes i got it connected right. so what i did was switch it out with a old dell mobo and plug power switch connecter to mobo and the led work. so it has to be the mobo or (cpu hope not) so what can i do please help anyways it go's am going be ok with it being replaced with a 890gxm g65 which is good and better i hope.. Qustion on 890gxm is it good and reliable and stable and good for unlock 960T to a 5 core?????. so if theres anyhing i can do to fix the 785g e53 please tell me. cause i did all i can. i dont see anything burned on the mobo bye the way.
and everything is connected right the cpu is in the socket correctly and the cpu power connecter also.

HELP, My MAC won't turn ON

My computer won't turn on. When you hit the power button you can hear the fans turn on but thats about it. This has happened in the past, it's not turned on for about 3 days but then all of sudden it starts working again. Its been about 5 days now and I'm starting to get worried. I hear the fans running but thats it, I can't eject the CD tray and I can't see any video. What should I do??

Welcome to Apple Discussions, Sorry about the circumstances!
To help identify what's at fault could you please post back with the following details:
Do you get the Start-Up chime?
Does the Optical Mouse light up/Caps Lock light come on or off?
If you shine a torch at the display and look closely can you see any images?
If you have a VGA display adaptor - can you see any display if you plug it in to your TV or similar.
If you reset the PRAM - hold down the <apple>
<r><alt>keys in during start-up until you hear the computer appear to restart.
If you hold down the mouse button during start-up does the CD tray open?
Was the computer showing any other symptoms recently - dimming display, Kernel panics, poor USB connections, grinding noises in the hard disk?
Do you have a clean electrical supply in your part of the world?

Ok so I'll go through EXACTLY what has happened to my laptop in the past day.. please note that the laptop was NEVER moved from the desk while this has all happened. Also a couple other things you should know.. I had Applecare, but 6 months ago when i sent it in to replace the harddrive -- they said they found some water damage, and it would cost $700 to replace... so i just put in the harddrive myself for $50, and it has worked fine since... So I'm pretty sure I can't turn to Applecare anymore...

Yesterday
One of my memory sticks went bad on me... (i had 2- 1gig sticks.) I took the bad one out, and the computer seemed to run fine on the single stick of memory.
Last night
I started to install leopard as an update over 10.4, seemed to work fine, though it was slow -- and finally i got to the leopard installation complete thing (please reboot the computer)... so I did...
It starts loading up... shows the mac symbol with the loading circle thing... but wait, Oh ****, i was probally was supposed to take out the cd... So i turn off the macbook by holding down the power button... and I eject the cd, and then try to start it up...
Not loading... ****.
So after some mulling i decide, alright -- i'll reinstall again...
I boot to the cd drive, choose my options, start the install, and go to sleep..
This Morning
I wake up.. the install hasn't moved at all... It's still at the same place where i left it..
****... so again I manually shut it off, and try and restart to boot from the CD again..
NO GO....
If I hold down C to boot from DVD
The computer attempts to read the disk.. CD drive seems to power down.. then try again.. Then it ejects the cd, and goes to the Apple logo with the spinning circle, but never loads. I've tried it with My old 10.4 disk, and the new leopard disk. Same result on both. neither disk seems scratched either.
If I just boot up regular
It goes to the apple logo with spinning circle.
SOOOO...
I tried resetting the PMU, and PRAM
Is it likely that it is my superdrive gone bad, at a horrible time? If so I guess i'll just buy one on eBay and replace it myself. Is there any way to test it?
Could there by another problem wrong with it?
Please help me troubleshoot this! I'd be very appreciative -- I'm a poor college Computer science student that needs his computer to work for his classes.

Yes. You need the two RAM modules, or at the very least the remaining one RAM module must be for sure securely seated. If not securely seated with only one module, the result is as you've seen.

No, not necessary. After that, the very delayed loading was totally normal, sounds as if you were just impatient.

Oh, and check the AppleCare agreement, as to the best of my recollection, you can should be able to get a refund, pro-rated for time left.
Check how full your hard drive is now. I'm not clear if you've yet erased your HD or how many systems you've installed - if not erased perhaps it's full up.
A PRAM reset should allow you to boot from the install disc, access the Install Discs's System Profiler, and see what things look like. Also, you should be able to boot to the Apple Hardware Test - while you do need a working optical drive to do so, you don't need any hard drive at all, and it doesn't sound like either one has been lost.

ok. so i tried to turn on my ipod touch and when i pressed the button on the top and the little square one on the bottom it didnt work. it was just a black screen. i tried holding down each button (seperatly and together) but it still didnt work. so i thought maybe plugging my ipod into itunes would work. but when i plugged it into itunes the ipod didnt even come up in the side bar thing, like it usually does. and the screen was still black.

try putting your ipod touch into dfu mode by holding the sleep/wake button and home button for 10 seconds, then let go of the sleep/wake button (make sure it is connected to your computer) and continue to hold the home button for 10 to 15 seconds or until itunes reads it as an ipod touch in recovery mode that needs to be restored, if you need more help on this just go to youtube and type in dfu mode in the search field

HELP! Ipod won't turn on, isn't showing up in iTunes or computer!

I finally got iTunes 8 to install today (yeah!) and bought some stuff for my new iPod Nano 8GB (previously had a 2GB 2nd Gen) Some games and music videos. Worked beautifully. When I hooked it up to my computer to add one more game before I left (last minute purchase lol) iTunes said a newer version was available for my iPod, did I want it to install. I said yes, and now it won't work. At all. It won't turn on at all, hooked up to my computer or not, it isn't recognized anywhere on my computer. If I uninstall iTunes to re-install, will I lose my library? Will that even help? I can't do the five R's, cuz the thing won't turn on! What happened??? I need help

brand new ipod less than 2 months old, occasionally it will crash and the apple logo would come up or the songs would skip but as soon as i turned it off and on it would be fine. today i tried to use it but it wouldnt turn on so i assumed it was flat, plugged it in to my speaker dock, nothing, plugged it into 2 computers and nothing, what can i possibly do to fix it?
