Not Charge
- See:
iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
- Try another cable
- Try another charging source
- Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, cracked or broken plastic.
- Make an appointment at the Genus Bar of an Apple store.

and/or
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Please help me. ipod touch not turning on and not syncing with itunes!!!!

ok. so i tried to turn on my ipod touch and when i pressed the button on the top and the little square one on the bottom it didnt work. it was just a black screen. i tried holding down each button (seperatly and together) but it still didnt work. so i thought maybe plugging my ipod into itunes would work. but when i plugged it into itunes the ipod didnt even come up in the side bar thing, like it usually does. and the screen was still black.
please please please please please help me

try putting your ipod touch into dfu mode by holding the sleep/wake button and home button for 10 seconds, then let go of the sleep/wake button (make sure it is connected to your computer) and continue to hold the home button for 10 to 15 seconds or until itunes reads it as an ipod touch in recovery mode that needs to be restored, if you need more help on this just go to youtube and type in dfu mode in the search field

  • Please Help Me. iPod Touch 5th generation will not download music from itunes

My son has an IPod touch 5th generation that he got for Christmas (3 months old :(!  All of a sudden if he is on iTunes and buys a song it won't download. It will say its already been purchased but its not in downloads.  I have soft reset and now finally did the erase all data and settings.  When it started up and i signed into icloud everything started downloading but the music.  If I go into the iTunes app and hit purchased music I can see all the music but when I go to hit specific artists it sits and loads (circle is circling) and won't show me the individual song titles.  I'm sick to my stomach that the iPod is not fixable because I can't afford to buy my son a new one and I haven't finished paying this one off.  Can anyone help me please?   I can add music from iTunes on my computer directly to the iPod when plugged in. So I am assuming this means something is wrong with iPod.    Any help will be appreciated.  Thank you.

First, don't obsess over it.  If, in fact, there is something wrong with the iPod, it's still in warranty.  Now, I don't know for certain what will fix this for you but here are some suggestions, beginning with one that's quick and easy.
First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

ok so i have an ipod touch 2nd generation and i have had it for many years.   A few months ago it would not turn on and kept telling me to connect to itunes but the problem is my itunes library is set up at my dads house and i live with my mom.  so i tried connecting it to my laptop to see if it would turn on. well it asked me if i wanted to restore it and i was really tried and couldnt think what restored meant so i clicked yes! and it wiped out my entire library! i was in tears because i had had $50 worth of music and apps that werent backed up!  so i sent my ipod to my dad and got everything sorted out.  but last night i tried to turn my ipod on and it wouldnt turn on so i just plugged it in to charge and left it. i came back to see if it was done and it wouldnt turn on and it told me to connect to the itunes store. i probably have about $50 worth of music that is not backedup this time!  omg i want to cry!  i am smart enough to not pulg in into my laptop because i know what restore means now! and i have tried holding the buttons down and everything and i let it charge all day!  what do i do! please please help me! if i send it to my dads will all of my music that is not backed up sync into my library? or will i lose it all?!?! please please help me!! • Latest ipod touch doesn't sync with my itunes

I had an ipod touch 1st gen, after updating it, it failed to sync with my itunes which was updated to the latest version at the time that is about 6 months ago (June 2010), then finally my itunes stopped working and would not open, until one of the users advised me to disable the bonjour service and that was the only way I got to open my itunes, however still could not sync it to my ipod since then.
Recently, I bought the latest itouch Jan 2011, I thought it will fix the issue, however again it did not sync with my itunes (latest version)! I followed many advices on the discussions with regards of uninstalling and reinstalling the itunes and manually running the exe file and extracting the file then upating the ipod drive. When on my last attempt to reinstall itunes it erased more than 70% of my songs, I used to have over 5000 songs, now they are 1515 songs only!
So I lost my songs, cannot use my new ipod touch and my old one got lost too!
    I really need serious HELP!

If you're unable to do the Restore and you have IOS-6 or lower, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.

Hey; thanks for replying & sorry for the late reply.
I just tried resetting the ipod but sadly it still doesnt work. Will it try when its off? Because the USB is not letting the ipod charge.
I do have the plug to go with the USB but it wont work with either the netbook or the wall charger. I was thinking of trying another USB wire and hopfully it would work. What do you think?

  • Ipod touch doesn't sync on Win 7 64 Bit

    Hi all,
this is my first post, sorry for my english.
I have a big problem with the syncronizaztion with my ipod touch 32g 2gen firmware 3.1.2 and ITunes 9.0.2
When I put it into my usb port I encoured on several errors (error 0xE8000065, the ipod can't write & read at the same time and others messages); my laptop become very slow, my bluetooth connection doesn't work and the syncronization of my Itouch failed.
I read on various forums that this problem could be caused by an incompatibility of the combination of my processor (Intel I7), my chpset (Intel PM 55) and ITunes 9.
Does anybody know if there is some driver or some other solution that can solve this problem?
Now my ipod is empty and I miss it very much
Thanks in advance to the greast hero that will give me an answer!

  • Help My Ipod touch doesn't turn on!!!

My ipod touch has been working just fine, I've had it since Christmas 2010.But when I charged it over night on a mains charger just like I do every night & this morning when I unplugged it woudn't turn on?! I tried holding down the home/power button for 10 seconds, & it doesn't work! & I haven't spilled any water on it or anything. Also I tried restoring it through itunes on the computer but it dosn't recognise it!!!!!! Does anyone know how to fix this??

After charging it for at least an hour try placing the iPod in recovery mode in order to get iTunes to see the iPod. If unsuccessful try placing it in DFU mode.
    For recovery mode see:

  • Please help, my iPod touch is not responding.

I just got my new iPod touch, added a few apps on it, and at some stage, it went bright and turned itself off. Trying to to turn it on again pushing top and middle buttons...at some stage, the apple comes on, and then the bright light and off again. When I plug it into iTunes, it says it needs to be restored. I don't want to restore it, I just personalized it ! I don't understand why that happened ? Can somebody tell me what to do? And if I have to resore it at the end, I don't want that to happen again! Thanks!

I know of no solution but to restore the iPod.  It could be due to a software glitch or a hardware problem. If it keeps recurring even after restoring to factory defaults/new iPod, I would suspect a hardware problem. If that is the cae I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
