my MBP speakers are not working! only the headphones work, they were working, but when i plugged in my headphones, and then out, the sound displays a full bar and a translucent screen with a circle and a bar, please help guys... i went to the sound settings, the speakers are not displayed...

If there is a red light showing in the audio output port you may have a stuck switch. Insert the earphone plug a few times and see if you can trip it. If that does not work, use a tooth pick of cocktail stirrer and see if you can trip with that.
The problem may also be cured by resetting PRAM:

New at Flash, please help! Sound On/Off Button

I'm trying to create a button that when clicked once, it plays music, and when clicked again, it stops. I don't need the button image to change at all, I just need a simple start/stop.
I've been able to make the button start the music when clicked but I've not been successful in making it stop.
I am using CS4, and have no scripting experience.
This is for a graphic arts assignment so please help!

Please help! i have broken my iphone, screens is totally smashed and black, photos are not on my icloud on pc for some reason, how do i get them onto my icloud without being able to use the phone? despratly need to acsess these photos on my pc.

Don't try to use iCloud for this. Instead, import them to your computer using your usb cable as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083. That will import photos and videos from your camera roll. You might also want to back it up before repairing or replacing it. You can do this by connecting it to your computer, opening iTunes, then going to File>Devices>Back Up; and to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases. This backup can later be restored to your repaired or replaced phone to recover your data.

Hi there I had the exact same problem with my ipad 2 and I found that nothing was working so I seen another post about using a drill bit but because there was super glue in my jack it wouldn't go in .. So I used my drill.how I did it are as follows.
1)get your drill and find your smallest drill bit (the one in my pack was 1.5mm)
2)start drilling it directly into the centre of the headphone jack
3)just pull the drill bit and the bit stuck in the headphone jack out.
And voila it really is that simple

You don't say what your version of Windows you have. Assuming XP, go to Start | Run, type DXDIAG and click OK. Click the Sound tab and run the tests to eliminate a hardware problem first of all. If you don't hear anything, check your cables first of all. Also make sure "Mute" isn't checkmarked in your sound setup. You'll find that in Windows Control Panel.
Which browser do you use? If you have Firefox 4, sign up to the HTML5 trial @ http://www.youtube.com/html5
HTML5 is the latest video standard and doesn't require Flash player. Google is in the process of converting all its files to work with the new format. It may solve you problem. If you don't have Firefox 4, you can get it from here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/fx/
IE8 doesn't support HTML5.
To clean out your temp files, go to Start | Run, type: CLEANMGR and click OK. Click OK again to start the utility. Tick all the boxes except "Compress old files" because the latter takes too long, and then click OK. You can run this utility any time you wish by the way.
The above steps will hopefully fix your problem. If not, post here again please.

OK......double click your home button and swipe the lowest row of apps you've recently used will come up. With you finger, swipe that row to the right and you'll likely see an icon on the far left that is a mute icon. Touch it and your sounds should come back.
Don't be scared. There is something simple and we're going to find it.

Please help whit sound blaster 5.1 Live 16 bit in windows vi

Where do i find sound blaster 5. Li've! 6bit drivers for windows vista? i installed its driver from cd but that is only for win XP and i only hear the front speaker left and right ... what should i do ?

ok i found my directx program and opened it and did sound test and other tests and it says theres no problems found .
so this leads me back to my problem i stll get the error message saying that MY SOUND CARD CANNOT BE DETECTED ON MY SYSTEM . PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU SOUND CARD IS PROPERLY INSTALLED ...
i went to creative to do the autoupdate install so it would auto check my system and i get a error message saying theres components that are corrupted and it closes and does nuthing ..
and everytime i try to do an update i get the no sound card error message so im back to square ,
i have done everything i can possibly think of and also everything the techs told me to do nd this **bleep** still dont work and i still cant use any of the features that came on the disc (i.e.) diagnostics and others etc.etc.etc.
my only conclusion is i have a deffecti've sound card ..........unless someone can think of a miracle fix i dont see anything else it could be

PLEASE Help, no sound in premiere pro!!!

I'm starting the think the audio on my laptop(G1S) SUCKS HARD. I was messing with premiere pro, trying to make a clip from a movie, and I get NO SOUND. I don't know what to do, i fiddled with the options, everything looks ok....it just plays no sound...i don't know wtf to do. does anyone know what i might be able to do? I fixed my cakewalk problem by using MME drivers, but premiere doesn't have this option. I really don't want to have wasted all this money, so any help would be great.

when i play ANY video in this program, there is sound coming out of my speakers. the video files work in my media player with sound, just not in premiere. when i try and "clip" the file and make it into another one, the process occurs, but the result is soundless.

Please Help! Sound is stopping in every 5 seconds until volume level is changed.

I have G60-535DX model and recently I came across a strange problem. Sound of my laptop speaker works fine for 5 seconds and then stops. When I change the volum level either from task bar volume icon or through keyboard shortcut it starts playing again for next 5 seconds. Please note that it has no issue with headphones.
I have used windows troubleshooting wizard, checked in device manager, drivers are up-to-date. Could you please post the solution for it?

i have a 6630 which i dropped in a sink full of water last night. i took it out and held it under the hand drier. i then took the battery out and the covers to dry them. when i took out the sim i snapped the peice of black plastic off that holds your sim in. the phone itself switches on but says it is in 'Offline' mode and has a large black cross through the bars that shows your signal. the sim now wont hold itself in the phone. i have tried sellotaping and blu-tacking the sim in to the phone. when i blu-tacked it in it actually asked me for my pin number which it hadn't been doing before..... but when i've typed it in it says 'General System Error' and then 'Sim Rejected'.
if anyone has any suggestions whatsoever on how i could possibly fix this i would be very appreciative if you could post on here. i have thought about taking it to a phone shop but i don't know which one to go to, don't know if you can get a replacement black piece of plastic and it's a Sunday =(

you should be able to get a new sim holder from your nearest nokia dealer.
as for getting the phone wet,take it to your nearest nokia service centre a.s.a.p. for them to check it out.
if the phone is insured, you only have 14 days to report water damage. iv had this happen and the insurance told me 'water ingress usually kills a phone' and they write it off and give you new one.
if you take it to an authorised nokia centre and it IS a write off, they can give you written proof, making any insurance claim easier.
offline mode is just a profile that allows you to use the phone whilst not attatched to your network.
if your sim is knackererd, if you get a new sim and ring your network provider, they can transfer the number to the new sim. good luck : )

Please help with sound in garageband

I am new to garageband, but I've recorded a podcast with success. For some reason that I can't figure out, sometimes when I record a new track, the female voice is very low. I've checked all the setting with the file I successfully recorded with and don't see a difference. The preferences in audio all checks out, and the settings in the garageband pref is the same. Why would the sound on a new track be so low? If someone could tell me exactly every option that needs to be set correctly, I would greatly appreciate it!

Yes, the recorded female voice is mine. Previously when I recorded it worked fine. Now when I record my voice in a podcast, is too quiet on the playback and I can hardly hear my recorded voice. I can not see anywhere the sound is low, or where there might possibly be any difference in settings when looking at a track that the recorded playback worked correctly. Obviously, there is something I am doing wrong, and I don't understand what that might me. You said, "unless you alter a region in the Editor Window or use an effect like the Vocal Transformer or the PitchAU"

Broken pipe means you have written to a connection that has already been closed by the other end. That indicates either a failing peer or an error in the implementation of your application protocol.
BTW you should create, and flush, the ObjectOutputStream before the ObjectInputStream, at both ends.

i installed the driver and soundblaster cinema 2 and the sound is not loud in headphones, speakers is fine but with my headphones is just quiet i tried hd558 and aurvana live it sounds not that loud that i was expecting, its rated 600ohm with realtek 1150 chip , whats wrong how can i increase the ohm to make it more louder
also tried rear and front panel and i already connect and switch the audio power on

I think the main thing is that this kind of board can support the expensive 600ohm headphone, if you bought 600ohm headphone but your MB is without this support then
it's possible that there will be no sound output for your headphone at all... the 600ohm does not refer the adjustable volume

My IMac has gone wrong. I can log in sometimes but other times it asks for file vault password. It makes a strange bleeping sound. You can't open any files and if you hover over any icons it flashes on and off. I opened up a word document and tried to make changes on it but as I did the bulletin numbers continued down the page on the next page and then it opened more blank pages. Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
