Please help - need to do a simple animatic...

Hi All.
I need to put together a simple animatic sequence tomorrow for a production company. Mostly it'll consist of cross dissolves between drawings. Occasionally, though, I'll need to do a simple movement of a piece of a drawing (i.e. the person's head turns to the left or right). This, too, can be a cross dissolve, but would involve having just that portion of the drawing as a separate image with an alpha channel (I assume this is correct?).
I'll be cutting in FCP.
My question is, is creating the cutout image easiest in Photoshop? Do I need to concern myself with square vs. rectangular pixels?
This will be a PAL project most likely.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. It's most appreciated.
travis

You may want to try using these photoshop settings :
width : 1024 pixels
height : 576 pixels
pixel aspect : square
This will save you having to tick the anamorphic section in the browser each time you bring in a graphics file. FCP studio will just automatically scale the clip to fit your sequence when you drag it into the timeline. Also photoshop prefers you to work in square pixels and it will give you a slightly better preview image quality (though working with another pixel aspect ratio wont effect the ACTUAL quality of the file - just what you see in photoshop).
As andy says - its difficult to tell which type of masking tool you will need without seeing actual examples of the images. Personally I feel that the of the in built photoshop tools - the poloygonal lassoo offers you the most control.
Will you actually have to cut out the images though ?? If all that changes from one drawing to the next is the head turning - and the backgorund stays exactly the same and static, you should be able to just dissolve between the two with just the head turning and everything else in the image remaining uncnchanged and uninterrupted. A simplified example of this would be to genreate several lines of text in FCP. Drag the text into your timeline and copy and paste another instance of exactly the same text next to it. Change ONE line of text in the second instance to something completely different. Now dissolve between the two. All you should see change is the one line of text that you changed dissolving into the other. The rest of the text in the image should remain exactly the same. The same principle should apply to two drawings that are indentical in every respect but one e.g a head turning.
Obviously if the drawings differ completely - then yes it will be far better for you to cut out the relevant sections in photoshop, save as a graphics file with an alpha/transparencey channel e.g PNG, then overlay the graphic over the original shot in the timeline and dissolve up to it at the correct point in the timeline.
Hope any of this was of a little help
All the best
JB

In order to use your Apple ID to create an iCloud account, the primary email address associated with the ID must first be verified.  To do this, Apple will send a verification email to your account and you must respond to the email by clicking the Verify Now link.  Make sure you are check the spam/junk folder as well as the inbox.  If it isn't there, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage your Apple ID, sign in, click on Name, ID and Email addresses on the left, then to the right click Resend under your Primary Email Address to resend the verification email.

Please help needed os x lion I wish to transfer photos from the iPhoto library to a album or folder then delete them from the Library but when I do this it also deletes them from the album ? how do I do this please.

Albums are not places to store photos, they're more like "labels" you can apply to photos to better organize them. A single image file can be in multiple albums... they are not copies, it's simply been labelled as being in all those albums. So what you're trying to do doesn't make sense, because it's based on incorrect assumptions.
The iPhoto library will always show all photos that you have added to iPhoto.

If you've tried to buy something and your've been charged for it (and it's not a temporary store holding charge) but haven't received it then try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • Please Help needed...Error while generating WebService Proxy..!!

    Hi...
I am getting an Error when i try to generate a Web-Service Proxy on JDeveloper for one of the Oracle WorkFlow Services viz., the[b] "TaskService"
    ie.,
    http://host:port/integration/services/TaskService/TaskServicePort?wsdl
The wizard exits with a fatal warning ( WS-30033 -- which i believe indicates Validation of the WSDL failed..!?!) saying
"uniqueness constraint violation : exception (taskProxy.proxy.faultType already exists)
Could Anyone please Help me w.r.t this..?!?
My requirement is to provide a UI for accessing Human WorkFlow Services...other than JSP...So, i am planning to create a Web-Service PROXY for the important Workflow Services like TaskQueryService, TaskService, etc...& then use the "jars" of these clients to invoke the Web-Services...!
Is there ANY Simpler method of doing this..?!?
I've seen the Code of the UserSampleUI application, but i can't get a similar code working in my Eclipse...don't know Which JARS are required...?!
    [i tried bpm-services.jar, & others...but it gives me a run-time exception of type PC Exception...!! :(]
If so, please Do let me know ASAP...!!
[By the way, ALL this is w.r.t. the [b]10.1.3.1.0 version of[b] Oracle SOA Suite...]
    Awaiting some response....
    Thanks a lot in advance..!

    Hi Calvin,
You may want to try the 'no data binding' option on the proxy generation. This may enable you to go ahead, with a proxy that is not trying to generate Java code.
Yo can also try to make a local copy of your WSDL and remove the duplicate type declaration. Using the analyze command from WSA CLI is a quick way to do this itterative testing, as it will not generate the code. Once you have the analyze command going thourg the WSDL, you can go back to using genProxy.
You can find the documnetation here:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B32110_01/web.1013/b28974/wsassemble.htm#CHDBBDBF
    Hope it helps,

Good luck, but they will tell you the same thing that anyone here will tell you.
Unless the device was backed up (via iTunes or iCloud) after the pictures were taken but prior to deleting them on the device, they are gone.  There is no way to recover them once deleted without a backup.

  • PLEASE HELP: Need some help with coding a next page button.

so ok, in details, I'm trying to code a next page button and can't really figure out how and tried to look for them over the net but can't find the kind I am looking for. So ok, the kind of next page button I'm looking for is the kind where you have like << 1 2 3 4 5 ... (Next page button) >> not just a button where I need to hyperlink it to the next page url cuz I have like 35 pages to put... so I'm trying to figure it out yet no cigar so can someone please help me with this? Thanks!

What I've seen done a lot (on forums with upwards of 1000 pages on some threads) is to add a "pagination" block of code that has:
two or three pages before the current page
two or three pages after the current page
a drop down with ALL pages listed
The "next" link or button is then just a copy  of the final link in the inline list.
    Something like this:
    <table>
    <tr>
    <td align="right" valign="bottom" nowrap="nowrap"><span class="gensmall"><b>Goto page <select name="generate_pagination" onchange="if(this.options[this.selectedIndex].value != -1){ window.location = this.options[this.selectedIndex].value; }"><option value="forum-page-26.html" selected="selected">1</option><option value="forum-page-26-45.html">2</option><option value="forum-page-26-90.html">3</option><option value="forum-page-26-135.html">4</option><option value="forum-page-26-180.html">5</option><option value="forum-page-26-225.html">6</option><option value="forum-page-26-270.html">7</option><option value="forum-page-26-315.html">8</option><option value="forum-page-26-360.html">9</option><option value="forum-page-26-405.html">10</option><option value="forum-page-26-450.html">11</option><option value="forum-page-26-495.html">12</option><option value="forum-page-26-540.html">13</option><option value="forum-page-26-585.html">14</option><option value="forum-page-26-630.html">15</option><option value="forum-page-26-675.html">16</option><option value="forum-page-26-720.html">17</option><option value="forum-page-26-765.html">18</option><option value="forum-page-26-810.html">19</option><option value="forum-page-26-855.html">20</option><option value="forum-page-26-900.html">21</option><option value="forum-page-26-945.html">22</option><option value="forum-page-26-990.html">23</option><option value="forum-page-26-1035.html">24</option><option value="forum-page-26-1080.html">25</option><option value="forum-page-26-1125.html">26</option><option value="forum-page-26-1170.html">27</option><option value="forum-page-26-1215.html">28</option><option value="forum-page-26-1260.html">29</option><option value="forum-page-26-1305.html">30</option><option value="forum-page-26-1350.html">31</option><option value="forum-page-26-1395.html">32</option><option value="forum-page-26-1440.html">33</option><option value="forum-page-26-1485.html">34</option><option value="forum-page-26-1530.html">35</option><option value="forum-page-26-1575.html">36</option><option value="forum-page-26-1620.html">37</option><option value="forum-page-26-1665.html">38</option><option value="forum-page-26-1710.html">39</option><option value="forum-page-26-1755.html">40</option><option value="forum-page-26-1800.html">41</option><option value="forum-page-26-1845.html">42</option><option value="forum-page-26-1890.html">43</option><option value="forum-page-26-1935.html">44</option><option value="forum-page-26-1980.html">45</option><option value="forum-page-26-2025.html">46</option><option value="forum-page-26-2070.html">47</option><option value="forum-page-26-2115.html">48</option><option value="forum-page-26-2160.html">49</option><option value="forum-page-26-2205.html">50</option></select>  <b>1</b>, <a href="forum-page-26-45.html">2</a>, <a href="forum-page-26-90.html">3</a> ... <a href="forum-page-26-2250.html">51</a>, <a href="forum-page-26-2295.html">52</a>, <a href="forum-page-26-2340.html">53</a>  <a href="forum-page-26-45.html">Next</a></b></span></td>

  • Dont remember passcode and have restored phone but phone still locked...please help. needing unlocked

i put a passcode on phone...now iphone is locked...i dont remember code..i have restored pone on itunes...but still comes up with unlock wit passcode.....please need help unlocking......but just also found out seriel number has been replaced. as buy of a friend and they dont have seriel number.....please help

I'm not sure how the serial number could have been replaced. Do you have access to any serial number at all? I would recommend calling Apple Support and explaining the problem, but you'll need the serial number to tell them so they can help you. It's possible that the original serial number on the phone is correct, so check on the back of the iPhone where the number can usually be found. If not, and you've synced your phone to iTunes, look on iTunes for the number. If you still can't find it, call Apple Support and explain the situation to them (tap on "emergency call" in the lower left screen below the keypad when you turn your phone on) and call Apple. Check this page for the number depending on where you live:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/he57
    I hope this helps!

  • Please help, need to import .swf/flash media

Hi all, have a little issue here. I have some SWF flash media and I want to bring it into imovie so I can edit it more effectivley then with qt. However, I have been haveing alot of trouble, most time I only get the audio part of it and no image. Most of the media is widescreen, I was able to export the media in qt to dv stream and then import it, however, it lost its widescreen look and was kinda squished from the sides if that makes sense, if anybody has expeirence with this type of media, please help.
    Nathan

    Hi Nathan,
I've never "dared" to convert .swf, but I read a lot about problems doing so... probably the Quicktime section of this forum is better to ask...
maybe a much easier workaround is using tools as SnapzPro from Ambrosia; this tool claims to "record" any screen content (and audio) and convert it directly into any wanted format (as dv)...
    just a thought.......

  • Please help - need to restore my iPhone

When plugging my iPhone into computer for the first time, I accidentally restored my iPhone with my fiance's for the backup. I freaked out and unplugged it halfway through the restoration. Now I have half of his settings/apps/contact info. and half of mine. I lost a lot of important contacts and notes. Please help - how do I restore my phone back to MY settings?

Ekk, if you told it to restore his backup it would more than likely replace your information with his... Since this is your first time syncing your phone it likely hadn't made a backup of your device. You can check by opening iTunes, go to "Edit", "Preferences", click the "Devices" tab and see what's in there for backups.
If there is nothing in there for you phone, there isn't really many other options to get those contacts back unless they are still on your computer or old phone somewhere.
Out of suggestions you can do a few things to prevent this happening in the future, like setting up a seperate user account in Mac OS X/ Windows and syncing there or setting up some kind of automated sync like Goggle sync http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?answer=138740&topic=14252  or Apple iCloud which will come out later this year.
Sorry to hear, hope you have another copy around.

  • Harddrive Upgrade - Please Help needs to be done ASAP

I have the MC375LL/A 13.3/2.66/4GB/320 Macbook Pro which I purchased November 2010.  The hard drive only has about 30gb of space left because I have lots of photos, movies & music.  I am looking to upgrade my hard drive to a WD Scorpio 1 TB Internal Hard drive 5400 RPM (UPC: 718037753119 or Model WDBABC0010BNC-NRSN).  Is this hard drive okay to use in my Macbook Pro? Will it work with apple energy conservation software & it’s motion detection software?  Is there another hard drive that I should be looking at aside from the one list? Please Help.

I can also get the one listed below which is a Seagate.

Do you know if this will work with apples energy conservation software & it’s motion detection software?
