Please help! Need to install Gimp for upcoming class
Hi folks!
I downloaded Gimp 2.8.2, the "native" version for use on my MacBook, OS X 10.6.8, and no luck. It will not open. I have trashed it and re-downloaded, restarted, etc. No good.
I have tried downloaded it from both http://www.gimp.org/downloads/ andhttp://gimp.lisanet.de/Website/Download.html
Each time I try to open it, it gets to finding fonts and then "unexpectedly closes." Any suggestions?
Please help! I am teaching a photo editing class soon and wanted to use Gimp as a free software that worked on both Macs and PCS students could download and continue to use at home.

Thank you for the suggestion, Eustace. I tried validating fonts and, after several tries, I was able to remove a font with an error. Unfortunately, it didn't fix Gimp. Still won't start. This is my error message:

Please help, need to use stems for final audio output
Hi, hoping somebody can help. Finished a editing a feature due tomorrow and the sound designer gave me a final stereo mix that's a half hour too short. But he also gave me the "stems" and said I could adjust them as if I knew anything about audio.
Here's the question, I have DX, FX, MX, ME and VO files. Don't know which are redundant. Can output myself if I know which ones to use. Please, if you know, share?

Try just putting each of those in separate tracks.
Make sure the line up by playing the master and listening for an echo. Then just start turning off the tracks until you get what you need. It certainly looks like some will have some internal redundancy. I don't understand all his terminology, but it's apparent that he has mixes that split out the voice tracks so you can drop in foreign language voices later. So the ME and VO sets will duplicate what's found in some of the others. -
PLEASE HELP, CAN'T INSTALL DRIVERS FOR ZEN TO
Got my lovely new Zen touch 2 days ago and so far have been able to do NOTHING with it!
Plug my Zen in via USB and my computer recognises it no problem. However if I try using Nomad or Media player to import files the player is not detected.
Belei'ved there was a problem with the drivers so I've tried to reinstall the software which came with it, tried updates from the internet, and also manually through device manger. All I get is that now software was found on my computer.
I know u go a lot of problems from newbies on her but I would be SO grateful for any help. I am very frustrated with it and just want to get listening.
Am using windows XP and is Zen version .0.03

I installed everything they had except adobe acrobat. after it was done I restarted the computer, plugged my zen touch into the power source and plugged in the usb. worked like a charm. WMP0 recognized it after the 2nd time I hit sync. I don't recommend WMP0 because it said alot of my files needed "conversion" when they were all mp3 and fine. then it just skipped them and uploaded maybe 600 out of about 800 songs. Go with mediasource, should work. Good Luck!

ICan't ReInstall my computer please help. need to use Mac for school next week
I use my Mac for School and stuff happened.
Long story short.
1) I tried to reset my Mac Book Pro computer and I did.( by pressing option key and go to disk utility and erase tab and erase)
2) then I know I was supposed to go to Reinstall OS X Lion and I did but I quit. (took 10 hrs and plus my internet is bad and couldn't DL the other stuff)
3) I remembered that I had a recovery disk. so I inserted it and I went to the disk utility, dragged the Macintosh HD to the restore tab, destination, and it copied my recovery disk data? to my Machintosh HD and the name of it changed to Mac OS X Base System ( the name of my recovery disk)
4) and I tried to restart, shut down my computer, it sends me to the same Mac OS Utilities. Again.
5) so I went to Reinstall Mac OS Lion, agreed, and the download destination usually should be the Macintosh HD ( for me its Mac OS X Base System right now) but it said it is locked (because I'm dumb) and i can't install it now.
6) i don't know what to do now because this is not my computer that I'm sending this support from. and I can't use my original Mac Book. what should I do?
AND I NEED TO USE THE MAC NEXT WEEK FOR SCHOOL.

For those who wonder why I wanted to reset/restore my MacBook Pro or, want to hear the long story:
I play League of Legends, Steam, Osu! on my Mac and it took alot of capacity (or space).
And League of Legends has thisthing called "Item sets" that when you save it, it doesnt save it in the client (or app), it saves the "item sets" data in your computer (took alot of capacity/space)
Not just that, and I had iPhoto but when i downloaded iLife to my mac, and after that, it said my iPhoto is damaged and it can't open.
And summer ended, my parents said If I fail my 11th grade, they are going to kick me out so I told them I'm going to reset my Mac to factory settings and get a fresh start, well this happened.hi there! I got it back to work by buying the USB version of Mac OS X Lion 10.7
and since my internet connections are kinda bad, I'm not able to download and update it to 10.7.5.
but anyways I got it back to work.
All I can say is I suggest you to buy the USB version of Mac OS X Lion 10.7 from amazon or apple store. -

I think I have mountain lion OS X....I have done I think almost every suggestion I've seen in discussion boards.
Boot in recovery repaired disk...ok...repair disk permission...all repaired but one warning...I've tried to reinstall lion (without losing data) and it Got all the way to one minute to be done and then the time change back two hours and kept doing this all night long. I haven't done a back up due to no external for time machine.
I hope someone can please help me I've been going crazy for a week now trying to figure this out. I use my computer for school and I'm currently very behind from in my school work thank you

Try holding the Shift key while your Mac is starting to start into safe mode. Then, after starting in safe mode, open Finder, select Go menu (on the menu bar) > Go to Folder, and type /Library/StartupItems. Then, empty this folder and restart the Mac.
If your Mac starts after doing this, it was a problem with a third-party app that starts automatically when you turn on the computer. It won't start automatically anymore after doing that -

As has been said, Facetime is banned in some coutnries and so is not available on iPhones and cannot be insatlled.
Also, before iOS7, the iPhone had no Facetime icon, it was built into the Contacts App. -

Why will Firefix not open after updating to version 28?
Just updated to version 28 on a Windows 7 64-bit machine. I get nothing on the screen if I attempt to open Firefox, but it does appear to be running in the background if I open Task Manager. I re-installed my original version 20 and it works.
