Please Help Nested Editable Region Image & Spry

Please Help Me.
New to Dreamweaver. I've been given a "grandchild" nested temple with only one editable region to alter. I've read and Googled since Saturday. My brain actually hurts.
Goal
- Insert my background image into region
- Add Spry accordion to mid left
- Add Spry collapsible to bottom right
How can 3 things be so hard? Please, can someone walk me through this? Thank you

I've been given a "grandchild" nested template with only one editable region to alter.
Nested templates.  Aaaaaak! There's no advantage in nested templates, ever.  They're so problematic it makes my head hurt just thinking about them.
If you have the parent and grandparent template.dwt files to work with, you'll need to insert Editable Regions to hold your scripts and other supporting widget code.
If you don't have those files and you can't edit the <head>, you can't insert widgets into Template child or grandchild pages.  You'll need to detach the page from Templates.

  • Nested Editable Regions Error Message

    I'm trying to create a dynamic template. I've saved a header
    and footer as library items, and I want to include them in the
    template. In addition I want to have an editable region between
    them. For some reason, when I go to save as template, the error
    message comes up. It says 'error at line 57, column 323(absolute
    position 2998) of ... :nested editable regions' . I have narrowed
    this error to be caused by the header (which was created as a
    sliced image in photoshop), but for what reason I don't know. Any
    ideas why I am getting this error message and what I can do to fix
    it? The template won't save otherwise and I can't find any
    information on dreamweaver 8 help menu.

    There is a parent file and an included file. Here's an
    example -
    The parent file is this -
    <html>
    <head>
    </head>
    <body>
    <!--#include file="foo.html" -->
    </body>
    </html>
    and foo.html (the included file) is this -
    <p>Hello World</p>
    The file you have linked me to is a badly broken template
    page. It's broken
    because the Library items have not been made properly since
    they contain
    redundant <body> tags, CSS, and javascript as well.
    This will never work the way you want, particularly not in
    DW....

  • Help with Editable Regions and Image Swap

    I need some assistance for a project I am working on, and I don't know a short way to describe.  Hang with me, here it goes....
    I am working with the sites 'Navigation' links.  I want to use a MouseOver behavior so that the image swaps when moused over.  I want the MousedOver image to remain when you are on that page.  I can manually make this happen, but I am running into difficulty because I want the Navigation to be located in an un-editable region so when I add new pages, the entire site will update as I make changes to the template.
    I don't know how to create this effect without manually swapping all the images via behaviors on each and every page, and when I need to do these edits, the region needs to be in an UnEditable region so that the template will update all the pages.
    I guess the question is, how can I customize images from page to page in an Un-Editable region in a Template driven page?
    Thanks.

    Image swaps are clumsy for navigation because you have to re-craft your menus every time you edit your site.  This gets very old in a hurry.
    CSS styled menus are not only easier to maintain in DW they are web friendly for all devices -- especially Smartphones who may have images disabled to save on bandwidth charges.
    DW comes with Spry Menus which you can customize with CSS
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/samples/menubar/MenuBarSample.html
    Additionally, there are some excellent DW extensions you can use to build professional looking CSS menus in seconds.

  • Please Help - Uploading Edited Versions Of My QuickTime Movies

    Even though I saved my edited movie as a "self contained move" in QuickTime, when I upload it to FaceBook, it reverts to the unedited version. Why? I saved the changes when I edited and then saved it as a self contained movie.
    Can anyone help me with this?

    Hi Pam0,
    Let me sum up your issue: In Organizer (read EO) you have some images in your catalog and you were signed into Revel. You edited your images (either in EO/Editor/External editor) and the edited files were shown in Organizer. Both edited and original files are on Revel. Now you want to download some/all edited or original or both images. Am I correct in this assumption?
    Can you please provide info on following items?
    - You uploaded images from EO, which implies that these files are present on your HDD. Why you need to download them?
    - How are you trying to download?
    Open EO, right click a Revel image which you want to download. Right click it and say 'Download Original'. If it works for single image then can do the same for multiple images too. Please let me know if it doesn't resolve your issue,

  • Help with Editable Regions

    We are in the process of creating a template for our site. We
    are working on the editable regions. What we are finding is if we
    want to add a bulleted list of items (let's say links) we can't do
    it without the list header also becoming bulleted. For instance
    let's say we have the following:
    Medical Resource Links
    Cardiology
    GI
    Respiratory
    We would want Medical Resource Links to be bold and stay to
    the left. The other three items we would want to have bullets.
    When we try this in an editable region all four items move
    over and only the first gets the bullet. Do we need an additional
    editable region for the title? Is this controlled via a CSS? Any
    help you can give would be greatly appreciated. We are beginners
    with this. Thanks.

    This has nothing to do with editable regions. It's all about
    the HTML on
    the page.
    Show us the HTML for your list, and I'll tell you why it's
    happening the way
    you describe.

  • Please help! Elements 11 image quality poor compared to LR

    Hello, I just started using elements and am very irritated because the image quality is very poor compared to when i am viewing in LR.  Its not the conversion - i have tried pulling directly from the camear.  It looks great in Camera Raw 7.1 but the second i pull it into editor, it lines get jagged.  Adobe help is telling me this is normal.  Surely not??  Something about a halo around pixels?  Image on left is Elements 11, right is Lightroom and Zoomed in so you can see how sharp it is.  PLEASE help.  im so frustrated!

    In the pse 11 editor are you looking at the image at 100% view (actual pixels)?
    (Other viewing percents can be misleading in the pse 11 editor)
    Double click on the zoom tool in the tol box to get 100% view.
    Also you should be on camera raw 7.4 available from Help>Updates within the pse 11 editor.
    Is that lightroom 4.4?

  • Please help, how to reposition image?

    Hi,
    I am using JWindow instead of JFrame to paint the window border and
    have a problem that I could not paint the image in my designed
    position.
    I have the border from the designer and divided the border in 8 parts,
    4 corners and 4 borders(top, bottom, left, right). Whatever the size
    is, I keep the corner size and using Graphics2D, and AffineTransfrom
    to transfrom the border.
    Here is the code in the paint(g) method.
                   tx = new AffineTransform();
                   scalex = (double)dw/TOP_BORDER.getWidth(this);
                   scaley = (double)TOP_BORDER_HEIGHT/TOP_BORDER.getHeight(this);
                   System.out.println("happy, scalex is " + scalex );
                   System.out.println("happy, scaley is " + scaley );
                   tx.scale(scalex, scaley);
                   tx.translate(VERTICAL_BORDER_WIDTH, 0);
                   g2d.drawImage(TOP_BORDER, tx, this);
    The problem is he TOP_BORDER image always start painted at 0,0 (the
    VERTICAL_BORDER_WIDTH is definitely not 0). I presume the translate is
    the same as setLocation of normal JComponent.
    Please help.
    Thanks in advance for any ideas and input.

              padding: 0;
              text-align: center; /* this centers the container in IE 5* browsers. The text is then set to the left aligned default in the #container selector */
              color: #000000;
    /* Tips for Elastic layouts
    1. Since the elastic layouts overall sizing is based on the user's default fonts size, they are more unpredictable. Used correctly, they are also more accessible for those that need larger fonts size since the line length remains proportionate.
    2. Sizing of divs in this layout are based on the 100% font size in the body element. If you decrease the text size overall by using a font-size: 80% on the body element or the #container, remember that the entire layout will downsize proportionately. You may want to increase the widths of the various divs to compensate for this.
    3. If font sizing is changed in differing amounts on each div instead of on the overall design (ie: #sidebar1 is given a 70% font size and #mainContent is given an 85% font size), this will proportionately change each of the divs overall size. You may want to adjust based on your final font sizing.
    .oneColElsCtrHdr #container {
              width: 46em;  /* this width will create a container that will fit in an 800px browser window if text is left at browser default font sizes */

    thanks for your help gramps ; sorry about my inexperience but trying my best.
    ]let me go though where i am clear and where i am not !!
    This is what I am doing : First I set up a folder on the desktop eg Wesbitefiles : then put another folder in there for images then I open DW and go to manage my site and choose this as my root folder. (Websitefiles) as root folder. Then I insert spry : as you say below
    The Spry support files are supposed to reside in a subdirectory/subfolder called SpryAssets.
    If you look closely at your local directory/folder structure you will see the subdirectory and the files that are contained within the subdirectory/subfolder.
    I understand this bit ; when I insert the spry menu bar in dreamweaver they automatically create a spry asset folder. I can see this as pictured below\
    Now the bother seems to be what I do next.
    I open my server and I get this view
    first i upload my index file see like this
    next I make create a spry directory or folder on the server like this
    after that I upload the spry files one by one from the spry folder on my computer
    that is what i do this is my server view here then
    so as far as I can see I am following the steps by creating a spry assets folder on local and then on remote but still not working
    here is code by the way
    The Spry support files are supposed to reside in a subdirectory/subfolder called SpryAssets.
    If you look closely at your local directory/folder structure you will see the subdirectory and the files that are contained within the subdirectory/subfolder.

  • Please help... overlaying images and tables

    Hello.. i'm relatively new to Dreamweaver so excuse me if
    this is a "duh" question.
    Ok.. so i am redesigning my website, before i used Microsoft
    Word. So trying to learn Dreamweaver and its tables and everything
    has been very confusing, however i am coming along. So here is my
    problem.. i have a Nav bar going down the left side of my page, and
    in my old website i used an image for the border... the image would
    go behind and i would place the buttons on top of the image..
    It doesn't look like things work that easily in dreamweaver,
    so i was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.
    Here is a screenshot of my workspace--
    http://www.danwayfilms.com/help.JPG
    Here is the look i want to achieve.. www.danwayfilms.com ...
    as you can see, the images jumping around is 1 reason why i
    switched to dreamweaver...
    thanks.. please reply ASAP!!

    Here's an opening salvo. If your previous experience with web
    pages was
    with Microsoft Word, then you essentially have NO experience
    with web pages.
    That being the case, you face a LONG and tedious uphill climb
    with DW.
    Without knowing anything about HTML and CSS, you will
    transition from one
    mysterious problem to another, all the while thinking with a
    "click and
    drag" mindset, and most likely eventually give up in
    frustration.
    The truth is that working with HTML is definitely NOT like
    working with
    Microsoft Word. The sooner you learn that, the better off you
    will be.
    Please do yourself a favor and take a week or two to just
    read about HTML -
    so you'll know some of the language. You can start at
    http://www.w3schools.com with
    their excellent tutorials.
    Also, images of pages do no good. To get definitive help, we
    need to see
    the code on the page, since it's always the code that
    determined how the
    page will look in any browser....

  • Please help me merge two images

    I've been reading tutorials for hours, and trying everything I can think of, but I just can't figure this out.
    I have two BufferedImages (TYPE_INT_RGB), and I want to be able to create an alpha channel "mask" that lets me punch "holes" (antialiased) in the top one to have the bottom one show through. I can draw white circles (Ellipse2D.Double) to my heart's content on the top or bottom image, but I can't figure out how to use this as a alpha channel mask or how to use AlphaComposite to put it all together. Can someone please offer help?

    I merged the top 2 responses together to get an antialiased version. Then I saw the post below. Can anyone comment on which version is more efficient? Thanks for all your help.

  • URGENT : Please HELP : Loading a first image too slow

    Hello,
    I want to load an image to save it just before in a JPG format so as to obtain finally a byte[] array of this JPG image result.
    So, to do it, I tried to load my Image from different ways but I have always a strange comportement... My problem come from the reading :
    First, I use the imageio classes...
    FileImageInputStream fiis = new FileImageInputStream(file);
    BufferedImage input = ImageIO.read(fiis);
    And then, I use the oldest method :
    Image image = new ImageIcon(file.getAbsolutePath()).getImage();
    BufferedImage input = new BufferedImage(image.getWidth(panel), image.getHeight(panel),BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_RGB);
    and also :
    Image image = new ImageIcon(file.getAbsolutePath()).getImage();
    BufferedImage input = toBufferedImage(picture);
    But finally, I understood my problem is that the first time I load an image (no matter the format, JPG, BMP, TIFF... or other) the loading phase is very slow and lasts at least 30 sec. But then, every loading that I do will gonna be really fast. (No more than 1 sec.) It's look like if the first time there was a kind of dinamical alocation or something like that.... but I tried to find some configuration parameters to set it... But without success. :-(
    If someone could have an idea to suggest me... it would help me very much.
    Thanks in advance for your help,
    Anthony

    Please someone can help me ?!? A suggestion ?
    I have tried today one more time to resolve this issue... but without success... Anything I do with the loading of an image... by imageio or other ways... it's still the same problem... the first time I load an image, it takes me 40 - 50 sec to load it and after this first load, it is very fast with others... and with every formats. It's not a question of format but of memory allocation, I think... but I'm not sure...
    PRECISION : I work with an applet, is there something to configurate to allocate some memories or another thing ?!?
    Thanks in advance for your help, I really need it just right now... I have to finish this job extremly fast !!!
    Regards,
    Anthony

  • Please Help: How to get Image under JDK 1.1

    Hi all out there!
    The following is my problem:
    I need to get an image under JDK1.1.
    What I want to do is get a graphics-object from
    it and draw some stuff onto it. Afterwards I want
    to save it to some file (gif, png). The latter part is
    no problem. But I couldn't find a concrete subclass
    under JDK1.1. I know of BufferedImage in JDK1.2
    but that doesn't help too much since I'm restricted
    to JDK1.1.
    Anyone who can help me with this?
