Please Help New version of Itunes 6.4 don't open.

Hi , today I decided to download quicktime with the new version of apple itunes on apple.com and since I downloaded that and upgraded my itunes is not opening anymore on my desktop.
There are absolutely no error messages it just don't open the program does not load.
I have tried reinstalling , deleting quicktime and redownloading another version of itunes and it still don't open. I never had troubles like that.
I am on Windows XP.
Any ideas ?

just checking something...does Quicktime open? Double check to make sure it is there, because iTunes cannot open without Quicktime. If not, DL a standalone version of Quicktime:

Also, what antivirus and spyware programs do you run on your Box? Some of them interfere with iTunes and Quicktime and cause it not to download properly. Post back and we will get it up and going.

I have managed to load songs onto the ipod.
It did play a couple of times but since then when you go to play any song the screen comes up with an apple symbol. Please help. I hope this isn't a dumb question.

What is the exact text of the message you get. Take a screen shot (command/shift/4 and post it. Also, what do you see regarding iTunes if you go to App Store/Updates?

Unless you've recently attempted to downgrade iTunes this is probably a sign of a corrupt library file. See Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash.

Transferred iTunes library from pc to new mac, iTunes ; however, when opening iTunes on mac it reports the library was created with a newer version of iTunes and won't open.

I'm trying to get on iTunes from my computer which has Windows . But it won't let me open the app . It would be nice if this was answered asap .

Looks like you had installed newer version before, uninstall it - but not completely, and than intalled the older version again.I had this issue before. I had to completly uninstall the newer version through control panel, and than perfom search for itunes for all folders and manually delete all other itunes files. Once all this is done you should be able to install again. Hopefully this will solve the problem.
