Please help! - No Input No Output

I only have the "Soundflower" options in the Audio Midi setup utility! I have no clue what happened. I didn't do anything major that would cause this change. Is there a place I can get the built-in audio drivers?

Did you ever get this problem fixed? I'm having a similar problem with my G4. Any suggestions?

  • PLEASE help me with Batch Output Filenames

    Hi All,
    I batch output hundreds of clips every day. And I'm stuck having to rename all of my files because Compressor appends the destination folder's name to the filename after Batch output. Can someone help me figure out how to retain the ability to output to my destination, but not have the destination folder name added to the file name. I spend more time renaming files than working!!!
    Please help!
    Thanks.

    Prior to loading the batch, create a Custom Destination. In the process of creating your Custom Destination, you'll be given the option (in the Inspector) of what Compressor will call the output files, so make sure to use something like Source Media and nuke any appendages.
    When you know choose the Destination for your Encodes, so long as you set a pre-defined destination - that is, something that is set prior to the import of your files - you won't have all that junk added to your file name.
    Another handy thing that I do when I do mass encodes to to use Compressor's Default Setting and Default Destination settings - available under Preferences - to speed things up. With a default setting and destination set, I simply import my files (Compressor automatically adds the setting and destination for each file), save my batch, if necessary, then submit. I then adjust the Preferences settings for the next batch, then import those files. And so on...
    Basically, as much as possible, the idea is to setup your targets (Destinations and Settings) ahead of time.
    But be mindful: All this won't work without pre-set (usually Custom) Destinations and Settings. Thinking you can do this after you've imported your files is not the way to go...

  • Please Help (Mouse input and graphics for small game)

    Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum, but it looked like a good place to get some help with a simple-ish game I've been working on. I sorta posted the beginnings of it on a forum dedicated to another cool game called Soldat.
    So that I don't have to retype much about the game itself, the link to the discussion is here (please mind the non-dev talk in there):
    http://www.soldatforums.com/topic.asp?topic_id=20916
    and the start of the 'game' is here:
    http://llsc.us/members/Solidarnosc/uploads/SolidarnoscNew.jar
    Anyhow, I need some advice on fast graphics. My game is sorta 3D (sorta-3D = that enigmatic 3D look in a 3D environment with sprites and no perspective), but I managed to use some simple mathematics and the basic AWT drawing methods to replicate 3D. The problem is that this is rather slow.
    I have started to have a look at different methods of drawing such as OpenGL using JOGL etc, but this is all rather daunting at the moment for someone somewhat self taught (OK, I have done a bit of Java at high school, but it didn't get as far as using such big words as Classpath, Package, let alone Buffer) and I seem to have a curse like Tubbers when it comes to semi-complicated tutorials. Ideally, it would be handy if there was a very simple example or a class that extended a Frame or something similar that had a modified graphics/drawing system with a 'perfect' buffering system (OK, maybe I'm dreaming).
    The other thing that I need help with is mouse movement detection. Currently, I am using a simple system of reading the mouse position on the frame to determine movement, but ideally I need a system that allows the mouse to keep moving without the constraints of the cursor needing to be in the form and not moving at edges of screen, etc.
    Help would be appreciated, but thanks for reading this anyway.

    Maybe I'm not making myself clear here (or maybe I
    missed a sign that that said "open source only"). I
    don't need a part of my program fixed by someone else
    as such, but rather I was just wondering what the
    easiest way to speed up AWT graphics is and how can I
    read mouse motion (specific to neither the cursor nor
    the application's frame) or even just set the
    cursor's position relative to frame. Failing that,
    can someone tell me how I should read mouse input in
    a way similar to a standard First Person Shooter?Unless I am missunderstanding what you want again, then take a look at AWT's Toolkit, it has
    public void addAWTEventListener(AWTEventListener listener,
                                    long eventMask)and it should do what you want.

  • Please help regarding XML Publisher Output

    Hi,
    I have bugs in my XML Template, please can any one help me to correct the template which i have designed.
    Regards
    Prabu

    Hi Prabhu:
    Did you try using the Template Viewer? (remember to change the Debug log level to Maximum).
    If you are using Word then you can try validation, although it failed to tell me errors at times (bug in deleting the cache?)
    Usually you will be able to find out. If it neither of these works, I normally fall back to the tried and tested method; Start afresh, add one complexity at a time and test it.

  • Please help with input

    Sorry just trying to save some time. Instead of going through pages and pages, i would rather just ask someone. I am planning on getting the K8N SLI-F motherboard and will be running 1gb (2 512mb sticks) of Geil Ultra Platinum PC3200 ram. Are there any known conflicts with this setup? Not that it should matter but i will be running an AMD 64 3200+ cpu and will likely not do much overclocking (if any).

    Shouldn't be have a problem with that. But make sure you've the gd PSU.

  • I believe that I have a keylogger or some sort of spyware installed on my mac, please help!

    I followed this procedure to check my files:
    Please read this whole message before doing anything.
    The following procedure will help whether your system has been modified. Don’t be alarmed by the complexity of these instructions — they’re easy to carry out and won’t change anything on your Mac.
    These steps are to be taken while booted in “normal” mode, not in safe mode. If you’re now running in safe mode, reboot as usual before continuing.
    Below are instructions to enter some UNIX shell commands. The commands are harmless, but they must be entered exactly as given in order to work. If you have doubts about the safety of the procedure suggested here, search this site for other discussions in which it’s been followed without any report of ill effects.
    Some of the commands will line-wrap or scroll in your browser, but each one is really just a single line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then either copy or drag it. The headings “Step 1” and so on are not part of the commands.
    Note: If you have more than one user account, Step 2 must be taken as an administrator. Ordinarily that would be the user created automatically when you booted the system for the first time. The other steps should be taken as the user who has the problem, if different. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this paragraph doesn’t apply.
    Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the page that opens.
    When you launch Terminal, a text window will open with a line already in it, ending either in a dollar sign (“$”) or a percent sign (“%”). If you get the percent sign, enter “sh” and press return. You should then get a new line ending in a dollar sign.
    Step 1
    Copy or drag — do not type — the line below into the Terminal window, then press return:
    kextstat -kl | awk '!/com\.apple/{printf "%s %s\n", $6, $7}'
    Post the lines of output (if any) that appear below what you just entered (the text, please, not a screenshot.) You can omit the final line ending in “$”.
    Step 2
    Repeat with this line:
    sudo launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.(apple|openssh|vix)|edu\.mit|org\.(amavis|apache|cups|isc|ntp|postfix|x)/{print $3}'
    This time, you'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. You don't need to post the warning.
    Note: If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before taking this step. If that’s not possible, skip to the next step.
    Step 3
    launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.apple|edu\.mit|org\.(x|openbsd)/{print $3}'
    Step 4
    ls -1A /e*/mach* {,/}L*/{Ad,Compon,Ex,Fram,In,Keyb,La,Mail/Bu,P*P,Priv,Qu,Scripti,Servi,Spo,Sta}* L*/Fonts 2> /dev/null
    Step 5
    osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to get name of every login item' 2> /dev/null
    Remember, steps 1-5 are all drag-and-drop or copy-and-paste, whichever you prefer — no typing, except your password. Also remember to post the output.
    You can then quit Terminal.
    I believe that I have a keylogger or some sort of spyware installed on my mac, please help!

  • 1 input file to 2 output file mapping. Please help!

    Hi Experts,
      I have a snenario where from one input file I have to generate two output files. My sender and receiver systems are the same since I want to generate the output files in the same location. I am using both the systems same just for testing purpose.
    So in IR I have created
      1. one outbound interface for the input file
      2. two inbound interfaces for the output files
      3. one message mapping containing one input message
          transformation to two output messages.
      4. one interface mapping containing one input interface
          transformation to two output interfaces.
      In ID I have created
        1. one file sender channel and two receiver channels for two output files with different names.
        2. two receiver agreements
        3. one sender agreement
        4. one interface determination of type "Enhanced".
        5. one receiver determination
      But when I run the scenario given one valid input file  I am getting the error in the sxmb_moni : RuntimeException in Message-Mapping transformation: Cannot produce target element.
    However message mapping and interface mapping works perfectly if I test it in IR with the same input file.
    Can somebody help me understand what I might be doing wrong?
    Have I done the configuration correctly for 1:N mapping?
    Please help! I will be greatfull to you if you can help me.
    Thanks
    Gopal

    If my input file is like this:
       <ns1:LocationMsg_MT xmlns:ns1="http://www.abc.com/Gopal">
             <Location>
             </Location>
    </ns1:LocationMsg_MT >
    Then my scenario is working.
    But my input file will be like this:
    <LocationMsg_MT>
             <Location>
             </Location>
    <LocationMsg_MT >
    This is giving problem.
    How to handle this kind of file?
    Thanks
    Gopal

    hi, iam facing problem in synchronizing 4 ni 4472 cards input with pxi -6052e analog output. please help me out to sort out this problem

    Hi achyuth,
    Thank you for posting on the National Instruments forum.
    I am not sure what you are trying to do.  Are you trying to input and output at the
    same time?  Are you just trying to
    synchronize all of your inputs?  Do you
    want them to run off the same clock?  If
    you could, give me some more information so I can understand your problem
    better.
    In the meantime, this might help you:

  • Please help! preview input in FML

    Hi... I am using FML 3.1 on my Mac but using Parallels so it's running in Windows 7.  I am using a Logitech quickcam pro af and for some reason my preview input looks too bright/no contrast while the output preview looks just great.  How do I fix my preview input so that it looks true?  Below is a picture of what I'm talking about... please help, I have no idea what's wrong and I've been googling for the last half hour trying to find others with same problem but having NO luck!
    Thanks!

    Just check if your crop checkbox is not checked. If it is, please uncheck it, and see if things improve. Just a guess, though I am not sure, if that is the casue of the problem.
    Just one question, I needed to ask. FMLE 3.1 is available for MAC, so why do you need it to run on Parallels. FMLE 3.1 (MAC version) would run directly on MAC.
    Try downloading the FMLE 3.1 for MAC from adobe.com, and see if the problem exists.

  • Please help! error -61399, how to create custom vi for every input in project explorer

    Please help! I have been trying whole night but couldn't get through it.
    I am creating custom vi to simulate cRIO inputs on development computer. ( FPGA target>>execute vi on>> development computer>>custom vi) I then follow tutorial creating test benches:
    Tutorial: Creating Test Benches (FPGA Module)
    but when I run fpga vi I get error -61399, input item/node is not supported (input item/node is my input which I've added from project explorer).
    The closest I got in my research on why this error is occuring- I have not connected all inputs/outputs in project explorer to custom vi. I followed tutorial exactly step by step but still I couldn't get through it.
    Please help! Please help!
    In order to do further investigation, I converted custom vi to a state machine , please find attachment. Having highlight execution on, it clearly demonstrates that input in cRIO are not being selected as a result default cases execute.
    Please find attached modified custom vi with state machine, fpga vi, and original custom vi.
    Best regards

    Solution:
    You will see this error if no Custom VI has been selected or the Custom VI has not been configured for every I/O item that you are using in your FPGA code???
    I think that's exactly where I'm stuck!
    How do I configure it for inputs??? My attachement show that I have done everything being asked in tutorial!
    Thanks!

  • Strange input errors, please help

    ok, Ive been following a tutorial located here. I just got to section 2.4 and the tutorial says that it would be easier to allow input with his program. So I downloaded his program, compiled it, cheked to make sure that the compiled TextIO.class was in the right place. (BTW, Im running NetBeans IDE 4.0 beta 2). This is my program...:
    public class helloworld2 {
        // a prog to display hello world
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            double hellonumber;
            double hellonumber2;
            int userImput; //imput tut. the number imputed
            int square; //imput tut. userimput squared
            hellonumber = 7777;
            hellonumber2 = 6666;
            System.out.println("Hello World"); // how to print words
            System.out.print(hellonumber); // variable use....duh
            System.out.println(" Is the number of the day");
            System.out.print(hellonumber2); // and again
            System.out.println(" Is the other number of the day");
            System.out.print("The square root of the number of the day is ");
            System.out.println(Math.sqrt(7777)); // square root
            System.out.print("Wow! The amount of letters in this sentance is ");
            System.out.println("Wow! The amount of letters in this sentance is".length()); //this is used to count letters, punctuation, and spaces in the aforementioned sentance
            System.out.println("cat".toUpperCase()); //makes aforementioned sentance in all caps
            System.out.println("CAT".toLowerCase()); // same as above but opposite
            //begin imput tut.
            System.out.print("Please type a number: ");
            userImput = TextIO.getInt();
            square = userImput * userImput;
            System.out.print("The square of that number is ");
            System.out.println(square);
    }       //doneThis is the program I got off of the tutorial site, it is supposed to make input easier, but instead gets errors
    The file defines a class TextIO, which provides a simple interface
    to Java's standard console input and output. This class defines
    several static methods for reading and writing
    values of various type.
    This class will only work with standard, interactive applications.
    When it is used in such an application, System.out and System.in
    should not be used directly, since the TextIO class thinks it has
    exclusive control of System.out and System.in. (Actually, using
    System.out will probably not cause any problems, but don't use
    System.in.)
    To use this class in your program, simply include the compiled class
    file TextIO.class in the same directory with the class file for your
    main program. (If you are using a development environment such as
    CodeWarrior or Visual J++, you can include the source file,
    TextIO.java in your project.) You can then use all the public static methods
    from the TextIO class in your program. (In your programs, the names
    of the methods must be prefaced with "TextIO." For example, you should
    use the name TextIO.getln() rather than simply getln().)
    (This class is for use with my on-line introductory java textbook,
    which is available at http://math.hws.edu/eck/cs124/notes/index.html.)

      public static String readString()
        BufferedReader br

        // Return the string obtained from the keyboard
        return string;
      /**Read an int value from the keyboard*/
      public static int readInt()
        return Integer.parseInt(readString());
      /**Read a double value from the keyboard*/
      public static double readDouble()
        return Double.parseDouble(readString());
    }and made a new small program to test it:
    public class Driver
         public static void main ( String[] args)
              System.out.println("Enter a number");
              int number = MyInput.readInt();

    at java.lang.Integer.parseInt(Integer.java:415)
    at java.lang.Integer.parseInt(Integer.java:497)
    at MyInput.readInt(MyInput.java:32)This tells you that there was a NumberFormatException and that the value which was not a number was "null". You can guess what NumberFormatException means, or if you can't possibly imagine then you can look it up in the API documentation.
    It also tells you that it was caused by line 32 of your MyInputClass (the last line of the stack trace) and that you were calling Integer.parseInt in that line (the line just above that).
    Your thousand lines of code are all very well but I don't know which one of them is line 32. Your text editor should be able to tell you that. Find out why that line of code is passing null to Integer.parseInt.

  • Help with input output .txt files!

    Hi i'm a student and totally new to programming. I need the program to read a .txt file and then output it:
    import java.io.*;
    import java.util.*;
    public class Reading{
         public static void main(String[] args)throws Exception{
              Scanner scanner = new Scanner(new File(args[0]));
              while(scanner.hasNext()){
                   System.out.println(scanner.next());
              scanner.close();
    and
    import java.io.*;
    public class Writing{
         public static void main(String[] args)throws Exception{
              String outputFile = args[0];
              PrintWriter writer = new PrintWriter(new BufferedWriter(new FileWriter(outputFile)));
              for(int i = 0; i < 100; i++){
                   writer.println(i * i);
              writer.close();
    How would i merge these together? I also changed the command line to java Reading Input.txt but it wont run on DrJava on my computer or laptop and i get an error? How do i then store the strings into an arraylist and iterate throught the arraylist to reverse the strings?
    Please help.

    You could do this...
    import java.io.*;
    import java.util.*;
    public class FileIO2
         public static void main(String argsp[])
              String readfile="ajr.txt";
              String writefile="ajr2.txt";
              try{
              read(readfile);
              write(writefile);
              catch(Exception e)
              {e.printStackTrace();}
         public static void read(String filename) throws Exception
              Scanner scanner = new Scanner(new File(filename));
              while(scanner.hasNext()){
                   System.out.println(scanner.next());
              scanner.close();
         public static void write(String filename) throws Exception
              String outputFile = filename;
              PrintWriter writer = new PrintWriter(new BufferedWriter(new FileWriter(outputFile)));
              for(int i = 0; i < 100; i++){
                   writer.println(i * i);
              writer.close();
    }

  • Need help with PreSonus Firebox, MIDI, and inputs and outputs

    Hey everybody, I'm new, and I just recently got Logic Pro 8 and a PreSonus Firebox. I have had no trouble with recording MIDI in Logic, but I have had problems with recording audio devices, like a guitar or a bass.
    When I record MIDI, I hear it perfectly through the speakers on the Mac, and it records just fine. But the guitar won't come through. I have tried changing the core audio device to "PreSonus Firebox," in which case I still can't hear the guitar, but it records. Once it's been changed to this device, I can't hear anything else I've recorded either, like the MIDI. Once I've changed it back to "Built in input," I can hear everything, including the recorded guitar.
    So the problem is, why can't I make Firebox my input, and my computer the output, so I can play through the Firebox and hear it on the computer?
    Here is how everything is laid out: I have a Casio keyboard connected by MIDI through the Firebox, which is connected to my Macbook Pro through FireWire. There is also a guitar plugged into the Firebox. Please help, I'm really excited to start recording!

    sorry I'm not getting a few things....
    1) how do I create a midi object?
    you create the midi object in the midi inst layer of your environment. at the top left under the menu that says "new" select the very 1st thing in the list, "instrument" (midi instrument)
    2) where do I assign the midi output?
    after you create the instrument the perameters box opens on the left. you assign the port and channel there
    5) where are the audio outs?
    to what? the roland? doesn't it have audio output?
    I've been reading the manual and have tried various
    forums.... been trying to get this since last
    night.... my brain. I know it's gotta be simple...
    not real simple but not real hard either

  • ≥≤ Symbols output in different sizes. Please help!

    Working in Quark Xpress 9.5.1, on OS 10.8.4 using Font Agent Pro 5.028...
    I am having difficulty with the the font Helvetica Condensed. Sometimes the greater than/equal (≥) or less than/equal signs (≤) are different sizes. We have three different macs all set up with same software/versions and using the same font library. Each one is outputting differently. We have struggled with this same issue through various OS and various versions of Quark and Font Agent Pro.
    I am not very knowledgeable about all of the things that can go wrong with fonts - and I just don't know how to get to the source of our issue.
    This happens using both Adobe and Allied Fonts.
    Please help!

    The usual problem is that at print time, your printer does not have the exact font available, and substitutes a different font that it thinks should be comparable. The letters sometimes work, but special symbols are rarely the same in all aspects in different fonts.
    If there is a Printer option to do so, tell it not to do any Font substitution.
