Please help on my new system

Howdo folks
Not been on for a while... but due to an accident at home I'm updating some gear (don't ask - moving studio from attic room to spare bedroom... steps... crash... insurance) and would like some help before I push the button.
My current set-up is G5 dual 2Ghz, OS10.4 (not updating yet as I made that mistake last time - too soon and not all drivers out there). 2x TC Powercore. Unitor 8 MkII. Behringer Ultragain Pro 8. DAW controller is Tascam US-2400. Mackie HR824's for monitoring. I won't go into detail about all my synths and effects, as they don't really come into play here. I'm currently running Logic 7.2 will be upgrading to 8 within the next couple of weeks, which will coincide with my new gear.
My firewire audio device, the MOTU 896HD was one of the items killed. I'd had a few problems, and to be honest, not thrilled with its sound.
All being well, I should have just over £1000 UKS to spend, which gives me quite a bit of choice. I have been looking at the Ensemble, TC Konnekt 48, RME 800. A friend in the biz has warned me away from the RME due to reliability probs, so the first two seem to be having the edge.
My use of the system is - playing my synths (x4), recording vocals, recording the synths (I record the MIDI and audio files to give me more flexibility), writing, mixing, producing. Oh, and if I ever get round to learning how to play the guitar in the corner, then recording that too.
I don't have an external mixer, and that sometimes gripes with me. The sound from Logic is fine (as EQ'd) but when playing my synths, they sound a bit flat as I have no EQ. It looks as though the Konnekt would solve that problem as it appears to be a mixer and Firewire, but don't know how it stacks up against the Ensemble.
So, any suggestions? Plus, are there any problems I should be aware of? I've read a bit about the controller issue with Ensemble and Logic 8 has that been fixed now?
If you need anymore info, just ask. I'm hoping to order the stuff second week in November.
(For those interested, I also managed to kill a Behringer rack EQ that was in my rack from the 'old days' and a Roland V-Synth. Wasn't a good day!)

This is a Microsoft Windows Issue.
From a MS Support Engineer:
"Hi,
·        Is the computer on a domain?
·        Is the issue isolated to only this software or you get the same error message with other software’s as well?
Try the steps below and check if it helps.
Step 1:
Run the software setup file as an administrator and check if it helps.
a. Right click on the setup file of the software that you are trying to install.
b. Select “Run as administrator”.
Step 2:
Temporarily disable the antivirus software running on the computer and check if you are able to install the software.
Disable antivirus software
Warning:
Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn't disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you're connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
Step 3:
a. Click Start, type "Local Security Policy" (without quotes) and press enter.
b. Click on Software Restriction Policies.
c. In the right pane, double click on the "enforcement".
d. Select “All users except local administrators”.
e. Click Ok and restart the computer and check if the issue is fixed."
