Please Help. Photoshop Keeps Crashing
I have CS2 and running OSX 10.6.7 (8GB Ram, 2.66Ghz i7 MacBook Pro). Everything had been working just fine until yesterday. My Photoshop opens and a few minutes later while I'm working on an image or anything, it randomly crashes. I am able to work for about 2 minutes before the program suddenly quits. Nothing specific seems to cause this. I can't find a pattern. But, the crashes all happen nearly right after I start my work. My Adobe Illustrator CS2 seems to be find from what I can tell, so this is just in Photoshop.
I have tried:
- to uninstall and reinstall.
- I have run all updates that are available for my version.
- I have reset my SMC.
- I have rebooted in safe mode.
- I have trashed prefs.
I cannot figure this out. Adobe won't help me because my version is CS2. I have been able to run this on my Mac for the last 3 months without an issue. I do wonder if there could be something in my fonts folder. I heard that somewhere, but don't know. I have a few duplicate fonts that won't go away. You are running CS2 in emulation (Rosetta) and it's crashing in the emulator:

Rosetta isn't being maintained or upgraded by Apple and it's going away completely in OS X 10.7 so you won't be able to run CS2 at all when that happens.
You may indeed want to upgrade to CS5. At the present moment, because you own CS2, you can upgrade at the upgrade price ($199 US). (Adobe gives a price break if you upgrade within 3 versions back - CS2, CS3, & CS4) If you wait for another version to come out, you'd have to pay full price $699 to get the latest version. Just a heads up.

PLEASE HELP MAIL KEEPS CRASHING!!!!
For some reason my mail keeps crashing. Whenever I try to do anything with my junk mail, the program crashes. If I mark an email as junk it crashes. If I try to move an email out of my junk mail it crashes. Can someone please please please help me out? I've tried to reset my junk mail settings and it still crashes....

JoeAre you really using Mac OS X 10.4.2, as your profile indicates?
There is probably some corruption in one or more of the files used by the junk filter. The following procedure thoroughly gets rid of all those files, so that Mail creates them anew:
1. Quit Mail if it's running.
2. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Mail/.
3. Locate LSMMap2 and move it to the Trash. This file stores information about what does and doesn't constitute junk, and is what allows the junk filter to learn. Clicking the Reset button in Preferences > Junk Mail also deletes LSMMap2. The file was called just LSMMap in early versions of Mail, delete that as well if you see it.
4. Locate DefaultCounts and move it to the Trash. This file keeps statistics about the number of messages that have been marked as junk, either automatically by the junk filter or manually by the user.
5. Locate MessageRules.plist and move it to the Desktop. This is where Mail 2.x stores all rules, including those used by the junk filter. If there is a file called MessageRules.plist.backup, move it to the Desktop too. You may also see MessageSorting.plist files there; this is where Mail 1.x stored the rules, and they are no longer used by Mail 2.x, so just move them to the Trash if you see them.
6. Look for the account folders. The name of each account folder starts with the account type (POP, IMAP, Mac), followed by the account username and the incoming mail server. Open each of the account folders, locate the Junk.mbox or Junk.imapmbox folder within it, and move it to the Trash if present.
7. Go to ~/Library/Mail/Mailboxes/. Locate any Junk.mbox folders there (their name may include the account name in parenthesis), and move them to the Trash.
Note: Messages in Junk folders with an .mbox suffix are stored locally, and will be lost forever as a result of doing steps 6 and 7. If there is a chance that you have legit messages there and you want to preserve them, move them to another mailbox in Mail first. If you cannot do that for some reason, move the folder to the Desktop (to be imported later), instead of to the Trash. Messages in Junk folders with an .imapmbox suffix are stored on the server and can be deleted blindly (Mail will rebuild those mailboxes automatically).
8. Open Mail. As a result of removing the rules file, the junk filter will be disabled now. You may want to either tell Mail to go offline immediately after opening it, or shut down the Internet connection before opening Mail, to prevent it from downloading anything until the junk mail filter has been enabled again.
9. Go to Mail > Preferences > Junk Mail, enable junk filtering, and configure it however you wish.
10. Go online again if you went offline in step 8.
If the above solves the problem and you don't have any rules you'd like to preserve or recreating them is not a daunting task, just delete the MessageRules.plist files that were moved to the Desktop and be done with it.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user's home folder, i.e. ~/Library is the Library folder within the user's home folder. You can easily locate any of the folders referred to in this post by copying the file path here, doing Go > Go to Folder in the Finder, and pasting the file path there. -

If there are other items with a name that includes "Genieo" or "genieo" alongside any of those you find, remove them as well.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, then you may have one of the other kinds of adware covered by the support article. Follow the rest of the instructions in the article.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. Chances are you got it from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates

Please help. iPhoto keeps crashing/loading on start up :(
I have tried opening my iPhoto today and it just keeps loading/crashing and force quit does not work. I have to turn the Mac book off manually. Please can anyone give me any clue as to how to fix this as I do not want to loose my photos!
Does it crash or hang? what version of iPhoto and of the OS? the only way to be sure you do not lose your photos is to have a good backup at all times - without one you are 100% guarenteed to lose all of yoru files and photos sooner or later

Please Help, Laptop Keep Crashing
My 17in Macbook Pro (Late 2011) has been crashing for the past few months. I took it to a certified Apple Retailer. They diagnosed the hard drive as the issue, I has it replaced with a new 250gb SSD. It worked great for about a week then started crashing again. Can someone help? I'lll also mention that I had the RAM upgraded about a year and a half ago, but this issue started a few months ago.

I would back up your Mac, erase and reinstall. Then Migrate your user data from the backup.
Uninstalling Tuxera is a troubleshooting process. You don't have to keep it uinstalled, just long enough to test to see if it is causing the problems.
However, if it doesn't happen regularly, it would be hard to determine if it was the cause. And, as I mentioned, I don't think it would be the cause. -

Hi, I had Firefox version 19.0, and it occurred an error which caused Firefox to crash. I followed the troubleshot steps, and started it up on Safe mode, and I got a message saying "The connection has timed out".
I browsed the forums for a while for solutions, and I started by disabling my add-on apps. This did not solve the problem. I've read here that it could be malware that is causing this problem, but neither malware bytes, Microsoft security, or Norton found the cause, any virus, spyware, or malware. After this I read about certain .dll files that could be causing all sorts of issues, but after searching manually for these files, they did not appear in my computer, such as datamgr.dll, like this it was suggested in a thread a few days ago.
I went ahead and re-installed firefox, same error occurred. Then I opted for trying the 20.0 beta. It did not help either

Not having the best of luck with Adobe support(web support tells me to seek voice support, voice support advises me to seek web support, and the loop continues) so I hope someone here has an idea of what I need to do since I'm just about ready to can these programs!
This is on the CS3 Web Premium suite. Everything worked fine until recently when opening two images in Photoshop causes the program to crash. It doesn't matter what the size or the format of the images are. Even trying to start a new image with one open will crash it. Now its spreading to my Dreamweaver and that program will let me open as many files as I want, I can sync with the web server, and I can edit text IF I don't highlight it. Selecting an image, highlighting text, and trying to change stuff in code all causes Dreamweaver to crash and close exactly like Photoshop does.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times already and these are the only programs giving me issues as Fireworks, Illustrator, Acrobat, Flash, and all my other programs work perfectly. I have also used CS3Clean after one of the uninstalls and still had no luck. On a side note, neither of the programs tell me why they crashed, I just get a dialog to send an error report.
**EDIT** Forgot to add system specs:
XP SP3
Core 2 Duo 4400
4GB RAM
250GB system drive @ 24% capacity
500GB mirrored working drives @ 83% capacity
The system drive and the working drives have been checked for consistency and passed.Alright, thank you for the tips.
To elaborate on my situation:
Photoshop:
I am not running 2 versions, I used adobe updater to upgrade from version 10.0 to 10.0.1
OS:
I didn't downgrade, sorry for the confusion, I tried to run photoshop on both 10..5.2 and 10.5.3 and they both cause the same problem.
I also tried disk repair; and permission repair as well as a complete reinstall of the os.
Drivers:
Latest wacom drivers are installed, photoshop seems to be stable without the drivers when the tablet is recognized only as a mouse; not a pressure sensitive device.
No font damage detected; clean photoshop preferences did not seem to matter as I was running on a clean install, both OS and Photoshop wise.
All read / write permissions are on because I am running in administrator mode.
Current status:
Running OSX 10.5.4
Photoshop 10.0.1 (updated via adobe updater)
Wacom 608-2 drivers on an intuos3 tablet
Photoshop keeps crashing when using the tablet with drivers installed; usually when trying to paint.
