PLEASE HELP! - Printing Yellow on Brown Kraft Paper

Please, please help!! I am sooooo frustrated right now! For starters, I'm a bit beyond intermediate Photoshop user (10yrs of habitual use). I NEED to print yellow on brown kraft paper. There's no alternative. I have to or I'm going to have one VERY upset client. Really hoping someone out there can help me very soon or it's going to cost me lots of $$$ when I have to fake it and print the entire brown kraft-pattern background on white paper just to get the yellow to show (picture one, small yellow key on a full sheet of brown kraft paper)
Here's the skinny..... I obviously have chosen to have photoshop control the color management. The closest I have come is to use the printing profile: Japan Color 2002 Newspaper without black point compensation (I think I used Relative Compensation). The only way I can get the yellow to show on the brown is to actually PRINT a brown paper background ON TOP of the brown colored paper. Obviously, this is causing the brown paper to look quite dark. The yellow is perfect and I've now lost every other color (Navy & 3 shades of Gray). They're all dull against the multi-layered brown. I have tried manipulating the yellow to be more green or more orange and sure enough, they turn out looking green or orange. Should I switch to CMYK instead of RGB? If orange is a variation of brown, why does orange show up on brown so much easier than yellow?
Is there a way to manipulate the newspaper profiles to adjust for browner paper rather than grayer paper?
I am sooo close but I literally cannot figure this out!! Please tell me there's a color profile combination I'm not aware of..... and please don't tell me that printing yellow on brown is impossible After all, we're photoshop users. It's possible; just have to figure out how.
Sincerely, One Desperate Designer

You may ask your printer whether he can use opaque yellow ink:
https://www.google.de/search?hl=de&as_q=&as_epq=opaque+yellow+ink&as_oq=&as_eq=&as_nlo=&as _nhi=&lr=&cr=&as_qdr=all&as_sitesearch=&as_occt=any&safe=images&as_filetype=&as_rights=
Standard offset ink is transparent. The reflected light is always darker than the substrate.

  • Please Help Printer Problems

I have just bought an Airport Extreme Base Station. I have a Mac Book, iBook G3 and a Win XP Laptop that I have so far connected to the network.
On the base station itself I have a Western Digital My Book External Hard Drive and an HP Photosmart C4180 all in one printer connected via a USB hub.
All the computers can see the external hard drive but I can only get the Win XP Laptop to print. The two Apple laptops will not print.
One last thing all my computers connected to the internet wirelessly via my BT Fusion Home Hub before buying the base station. When I first installed the base station I connected the WAN port to the BT hub. As far as the base station is telling me everything must be setup right as I have the solid green light.
What am I doing wrong. Please help I love Apple products and really do not want to send this back.

I'd like to suggest you go to www.tune-up.com and download and install this program.
You get a 30 day free trial to start. If you sign up as a reseller you can get the program for $29 after that.
I'm not an employee of the company but I just recommend the program as it has fixed many a friends
problems and has kept my computers and my familys computers running straight and clean with no problems.
Even if you don't buy the program after using it and it fixes your problems you can uninstall it and consider it a blessing.
I'm sure once you see what it can do you will think twice to buy it.
Other than that, I don't know much about your system to even begin to try to tell you what to do as a troubleshooter.
It could be any number of things that are wrong with it. Number one, the registry might be really messed up.
Tune-up will fix that fix off for you. A computer is like a car, it has to be kept in tune in order to keep running right.
Another problem area is malware and viruses. We all know about them but do we ever really know if we might have been bit
by any of them. Most times not until something serious causes us problems. Can I suggest another program you might try?
AVG Internet Security 2011 at www.avg.com.  It's another 30 day free trial program. I am also a reseller and have all my computers
and family members registered and using it.
I can tell you that with only these two programs installed on your computer you can rest easy and use your computer without any fears or problems.    Let me know how it goes for you. Good luck.

  • Please help - printer jammed?

I have an HP OfficeJet L7580 that i got through a grant at work. I need it to work to print out lesson plans, etc.
It had a paper jam, I removed it, but the printer thinks it is still jammed. I have opened all doors on the printer multiple times to check, turned it on and off and unplugged it, even tried turning it sideways, to no avail. Is this a problem with the computer chips in the computer, or is there a miniscule scrap in there somewhere? I can try to take it to an office supply store to have it serviced or is there a place  online or method to reboot the circuits in the printer so it doesn't think it is jammed?
    Thanks,
    EG

    Try this:
    1. While the printer is still turned ON, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and from the wall outlet.
    2. Wait for a minute or two.
    3. Reconnect the power cord to the wall outlet.
    4. While the power cord to the back of the printer is still unplugged, press and hold the POUND (#) and SIX (6) keys at the same time. While holding the two keys, reconnect the power cord to the back of the printer and after two seconds, release the two keys.
    5. Turn ON the printer if it won't turn ON automatically and then follow the on-screen instructions.
Let me know if it helps you.

  • Printing is Purple/Brown on paper when Red on computer screen

My OS is Windows 7 (64Bit) - Printer is Officejet Pro 8000 A809n. My problem is that during the last two days any red colouring shown on the computer screen is reproduced as a Purple/Brown colour on the printed page. The colour Management setting on the computer is Name: NEC MultiSync EA261wm - File name: ea261wm7.icm
I'm unable to ascertain the colour settings for the printer. If anybody has experienced similar mismatch problems and can offer a solution I would be grateful
    RegSidey

I'm seeing this same problem happen on multiple platforms here in the office. Every time this happens, the screen view does not show these shapes. I have been seeing the same problem except linework will be missing in one of these square shapes as well. Please give feedback if anyone knows what causes this problem. One thing to note -  these squares are the size and placement of a selection box within acrobat.  For example, if i use the selection tool and click near where the problem printed out, the shaded area that gets selected is in the exact same spot and is the exact size.@

  • PLEASE HELP:printing to network printer from MacBook to PC

    Greetings,
I have a desktop running XP with a HP PSC 1210 attached by USB. Last week I upgraded from an old Windows laptop to a shiny new MacBook. Love it but can't print through the wireless network.
    I have:
Followed the ifelix guide and was able to see the printer though the network and add it.
Followed the ifelic guide for troubleshooting and installed the unix tcp/ip printing component of windows. Still no printing.
Installed both the hpisj and esp drivers and added printers on the MacBook selecting each of one of these driver. No printing.
    What happens:
The print job becomes active then finishes on the MacBook. It is then sent through the network where it appears as a print job in the queue with the status as 'printing' and then it just sits there and does nothing never going away and doesn't allow other jobs to print after it.
I also tried travelling over 100 kilometers this weekend to the Apple store in Toronto and spoke with a Genius at the Genius bar who, without even trying said that some printers just won't work. When I asked him which printers definitely would work, he had no idea. His only suggestions was to turn print sharing off on the Mac side. Not exactly worth the 3 hours of driving.
So, while I love my MacBook, I have actually lost a much used function that I had on my old crummy laptop; a function that will be dearly missed.
Please, if anyone has any suggestions, I would be greatly appreciative. If I need to provide any more details, let me know.
MacBook   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   iPOD Video 30Gb, Desktop PC

The link you gave is for printing from Classic programs on the same Mac. To print from another Mac running OS 9.2:
    1) On the server (with printer attached) enable print sharing both in Sharing prefs and in Print & Fax prefs.
    2) again on OS X (server), in Printer Setup highlight the Deskjet and click Show Info and find and write down the queue name. Also find the server IP address in Network Prefs and write it down.
    3) On the OS 9 computer, find Apple Printer Utility (usually in Apple Extras) and start it. Create an LPR/LPD printer and enter the IP address and queue name where asked for.
    4) Important - For printer model, choose an Apple Color LaserWriter xx as the PPD/model. This entire setup assumes a postscript printer. The good news is that OS X expects to receive postscript input and it translates that for the Deskjet.
PS, it is possible that the HP driver you installed on OS9 could work, in which case you don't need to follow the above postscript procedure. Instead, in Chooser on OS 9, select the appletalk driver for your deskjet and if the printer attached to the server shows up, select it (right side of Chooser) and it may then work. I haven't got an older deskjet to try, so I don't know if it'll work.

  • Please help, print to file on xserve

Guys I am trying to setup a way to print ps files to a hotfolder.
Since I have access to a xserve I was trying to go that route. I know it can be done by changing the swb.conf file. I just do not know how.
Any feed back would be very appreciated.
Thank you for all the help in advance.

    Leif again thank you.
I must be doing something wrong.
    Here is my backend command:

    Here is the permissions:

    Here is the print.conf:

I can see the printer in the web config. I can even print a test page and it works.
Now when I go to Server Admin I only see that printer as a default printer.
When I go to a browser and hit the print button I see the printer but get an error: error while printing
How can I get other macs on the network to see that printer. I can not see it in the printer setup utility. If as add as a LPD printer, when I try to print I get an error: Network host '10.0.99.105' is busy, down, or unreachable; will retry in 30 seconds ...
Again thank you for all the help.

  • Please help, printing on Mac

    Hi there,
I'm trying to implement printing inside java applet using javax.print package. I read an article somewhere about the package not working perfectly under mac, and a workaround is to use the old java.awt.print to get the print services, then use the DocPrintJob to print.
The SimpleDoc I use for capturing the image that I need to print works fine, and the printServices are there. The problem I have is it's giving me an 'invalid flavor' exception when clicking 'Print' on popup PrintDialog.
It seems that the mimetype is what's causing the problem, as the printer's supported mime type is "application/x-java-jvm-local-objectref". (note that, on PC the printing works fine, with Doc flavor mimetype as image/png and the image I need to print in png format). I tried switching the flavor to SERVICE_FORMATTED.RENDERABLE_IMAGE, printing an ImageDoc class which implements Doc and RenderableImage, but 'invalid flavor' exception still occurs.
I don't know much about printers on Mac, so I'm not sure what I can do about it, is it something that can be controlled from the Applet or it's something that the user has to set in the system - the Applet can only warn the user and tell the user to do the configuration.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Ken,
Relax, there are no viruses on Macs. Now, as far as your Mac running slower and slower let's see if we can figure out what's wrong.
Try starting in "Safe Mode" (It will take more time to startup in Safe Mode because it runs a directory check.)
If that works go to System Preferences >> Accounts >> Login Items and remove them. Boot normally and test. If not go to ~(yourHome)/Library/Contextual Menu Items and move whatever is there to the desktop. Then do the same with /Library/Contextual Menu Items. Lastly, try moving ~(yourHome)/Library/Fonts to your desktop and restarting.
Log out/in or restart, if that sorts it start putting items back one at a time until you find the culprit.
If that's not it, we'll try something else. Let us know.

Please help, printer is not working "ink system failure"

    Hi,
Any help appreciated.  My printer is Photosmart C7288 All-in-One Printer.
As of 2 days ago my printer has not been working. It comes up with several error messages after I switch it on. The first one is "Ink system failure: Ink system has failed. Unable to copy, recieve faxes or print. Refer to printer documentation. Error: 0xc18a0105. Turn power off then on again."
However when I turn power off then on again via the 'power' button, ".ink system failure Then the same original error message comes up (0xc18a0105). This is the most frequent error message and won't go away. Then I also keep getting a message saying "Photo Tray Problem: Lift output tray up, verify the photo tray is pushed in until it stops, lower output tray". Despite the fact that I have not used the photo tray in several months and it is in the correct position.
So far I have tried switching the printer on and off several times using the power button. I also switched the printer off at the plug last night (after it had been properly shut down) and switched it back on this morning. I have looked through the printer documentation but could not find any troubleshooting advice for this kind of problem. I have updated the HP driver using software update on my mac, and the problem is still there.
I'm getting desperate now, I rely on my printer/scanner/photocopier a lot!
    Thanks

  • C7180 printer refusing NEW yellow ink, message freezing screen. Please help!

Have Photosmart C7180 All-in-One. Have replaced yellow ink twice, (returning to store thinking the lot was bad), but the machine won't accept it.  At the same time I replaced two other colors with no problem. This is just in the yellow.  Message shown is - "The following ink cartridge appears to be missing or damaged." I know it is not missing and don't believe it is damaged because of the two changes. This message has frozen my screen and I can't copy, print, fax or anything. I am desperate to get this problem fixed as I need the machine for business.  I put the just about empty cartridge back in to print something quickly and it worked but that cartridge is empty now. I do have the correct replacement ink cartridge.  Please help! Thank you.

    Hi
I'm having the same problem with my L7680 I've been looking through this form and it seems there are a lot of people with similar all in ones having the same problem cleanig, new ink twice resets etc don't seem to help.

  • Connecting to a wireless print server, please help!!!

i have a canon mp500 connected to a network through a wireless printserver and wireless router. the printer works when directly connected to my macbook, but not when connected to the print server. i contacted linksys and they sent a docment on how to set the printer up using it's ip address. still didn't work (the instructions were for 10.1 and 10.2). i have downloaded and installed the current mac os x drivers from the canon website with no luck. please help

I'm no expert, but I was able setup HP printer connected wirelessly to AEBS by using Apple's Printer Setup Utility and Bonjour. I was, however, able to install the HP drivers using the software that came with the printer, but it sounds like you could not do so with Canon?
Anyway, here are Apple's help files for adding an IP printer:
    "Connecting to an IP printer
An IP printer is a network printer that uses TCP/IP protocols (such as LPD/LPR, IPP, or Socket or Jet Direct) to communicate with your computer. If the IP printer you want to use is not listed when you print, you can add it to your list of available printers.
To add an IP printer, you need to know its IP address or DNS name. See your network administrator for assistance.
Open the document to print, and choose File > Print.
Choose Add Printer from the Printer pop-up menu, and click IP Printer in the dialog that appears.
Choose the appropriate printing protocol from the Protocol pop-up menu.
Type the IP address or DNS name for the printer in the Address field.
If your printer requires it, type the queue name for your printer in the Queue Name field. If you don't know the queue name, see your network administrator for assistance.
Enter a name and location for the printer, so you can identify it in the Printer pop-up menu.
If the Print Using pop-up menu does not display the name of your printer's model, choose the item appropriate for your printer from the Print Using pop-up menu, and then select your printer in the Model Name list.
    Click Add.
Usually, your computer can detect whether a printer has special accessories installed, such as additional paper trays, extra memory, or a duplex unit. If it can't, a dialog appears that lets you specify them. Make sure the settings in that dialog accurately reflect your printer's installed accessories so you can take full advantage of them."

  • My Photosmart Printer is not printing, Please Help.

I need help, my printer, acts like it's going to print, it goes through the processes as it sounds like it's going to Print, but the paper comes out blank, and I just put new ink in it. Can someone be so kind to please help.
    Thanks

    Hi MsLew,
Is the C7280 able to make a perfect copy of a document if you lay something on the glass of the printer and select color copy?
If so, reset the printing system (don't pay attention to the OS listed in the document) on the Mac and then install this HP driver package for Mac: HP Printer Drivers v3.0 for OS X. Restart the Mac, add the printer back into System Preferences.
Try printing at this time and let me know what happens.
