PLEASE HELP : REALLY ANNOYED

Hi i bought the WRT54G version 8 at xmas time. And ever since ive been struggleing with this DANM router. I have two home PC's both of which are hardwired (landlined) into the back of the router. I also play PS3 and Xbox 360 wirelessly. Now my problem here is that ive called for help like 3x now and they have given me advice and it seemed to have worked... but then it doesnt. My ps3 wireless connection is running terrible... im in the 1red(LAGGING) when im usually at full green. My internet connection is Aliant / DSL and i know it is the routers problem because my internet provider has already clarified to me that everything is running fine and i should not be having problems. I have upgraded the firmware version to the latest one... I have changed the MTU setting to manual at size 1429. I have gone into wireless / advanced setting and changed my beacon interval from 100 to 50. All of these changes were recommended by the Technician at Linksys.
Now the internet seems to be working better / a little faster but my PS3 wireless did not change one bit. Also i play a game on my PC called Starcraft. Ive never ever had problems with my connectivity to this game and ive played this game on and off for 10 years. These problems are really really annoying me and i dont know what to do. Im really frustrated and wish someone could help me because the technicians at linksys havent done **bleep** for me (excuse my language im just frustrated).

the rtr have a NAT..it protects everything in the network but unfortunately sometimes it blocks some packets to make the ps3 work freely...i haven't read that you have done any port opening...pls verify!
now another problem is that a DSL connection uses NAT capable modem...its multiple NAT on your network...Its a big problem..

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
You may have installed the "VSearch" trojan. Remove it as follows.
Malware is always changing to get around the defenses against it. These instructions are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for more recent discussions or start a new one.
Back up all data before proceeding.
Step 1
From the Safari menu bar, select
          Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Uninstall any extensions you don't know you need, including any that have the word "Spigot," "Trovi," or "Conduit" in the description. If in doubt, uninstall all extensions. Do the equivalent for the Firefox and Chrome browsers, if you use either of those.
Reset the home page and default search engine in all the browsers, if it was changed.
Step 2
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
/Library/LaunchAgents/com.vsearch.agent.plist
Right-click or control-click the line and select
          Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item named "com.vsearch.agent.plist" selected. Drag the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password.
Repeat with each of these lines:

The problem may have started when you downloaded and ran an application called "MPlayerX." That's the name of a legitimate free movie player, but the name is also used fraudulently to distribute VSearch. If there is an item with that name in the Applications folder, delete it, and if you wish, replace it with the genuine article from mplayerx.org.
This trojan is often found on illegal websites that traffic in pirated content such as movies. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow.
You may be wondering why you didn't get a warning from Gatekeeper about installing software from an unknown developer, as you should have. The reason is that the Internet criminal behind VSearch has a codesigning certificate issued by Apple, which causes Gatekeeper to give the installer a pass. Apple could revoke the certificate, but as of this writing has not done so, even though it's aware of the problem. This failure of oversight has compromised both Gatekeeper and the Developer ID program. You can't rely on Gatekeeper alone to protect you from harmful software.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
          Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

Please help really urgent

I have a small JFrame on top of another JFrame which covers the
entire comp screen. In the smaller JFrame I have a JMenuBar;
once u click on the JMenu I would like for the menu to open and
diplay itself completely without having to resize the frame.
Something which im unable to do now the menu ends at the boundaries of the JFrame and the user would have to resize the screen. Can someone help please im really stuck

A wild guess: Are you mixing Swing and AWT? I experienced exactly what you describe when I had a JFrame containing AWT components.

Why does my iPhone 4S running iOS 7.0.4 turn off when it has 30 percent of battery,the percentage sometimes varies it can be 50%.Please help its annoying

I don't understand why it does this it turns off when it has above 20% of battery, I need to find out what's wrong because it's becoming really frustrating, please help. Does anyone else's do this?

Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with your iPhone4. I would be concerned too if my iPhone was unexpectedly powering off. I found an article with steps you can take when you encounter an issue like this. I recommend following the steps below:
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.

PLEASE PLEASE HELP really fast audio track!!

Ok here is what I am doing. I have some audio files that we recorded onto an ipod via an imic. I have the files on a flash drive, and I drug them over to garage band. The into music file we made worked just fine, but the audio lecture is really really really fast, like the chimpmunks, and so fast you can't make it out. If I just double click the file and open it in quick time it sounds just normal. I really really really need to get this going, can someone please help me. I need to take the intro track, add it to the first part of this lecture, and then make a audio cast of the two tracks. Can someone out there PLEASE help me. You can email me at [email protected]

That won't help, he said he recorded onto his iPod which means it was probably recorded at 11K or 22K. The link I posted will solve his problem.

Help, Really annoying problem,

when I copy certain tracks to my ipod, they appear 2 times in the ipod listings as in If I copy over 'Since I've been loving you by led zepp' and then click on led zep in the artist listings, there will be two idenical names 'Since I've Been Loving You', like its referencing the same song twice, I'm using a Nano latest firmware, and latest itunes with a macbook, its really annoying,
Also alot of times songs I send over wont appear under the artist as expected, and they dont even appear under the unknown section, instead the only way to play them is find them in the all songs section, I mean whats that about??

A spelling or punctuation mistake, or sometimes a trailing space usually causes this after the artists and/or song name, which fools the iPod into thinking that there are two different artists or songs. The trailing space is the hardest to spot.   Best way to cure this is to go into iTunes, highlight that artist and/or songs, right click on them and select "get info".   This brings up the multiple song info window. In the artist or song box retype the name, as you would like it, and then click ok. Do this even if no mistakes are immediately visible.
  Re sync this new artist/song info to your iPod.
As for your artist problem, it could be that you have inadvertently imported these CDs into iTunes as part of a compilation. If so, the artists won't show in the artists menu on the iPod.
To check, highlight the tracks on one of the offending artists CDs in iTunes, right click and select "get info". This brings up a multiple song info window, and from there you can check if you have 'yes' in the box marked "part of a compilation".
If you have, select 'no' instead and click 'ok'. Do this with any CD that has this issue. This will alter the info in iTunes, and you should then connect your iPod and synchronize the changes.
The problem arises because the information contained on the Gracenote CD Data Base (where iTunes gets all it's album/artist/track info from), is sometimes incorrect. It can show CDs as compilations when in fact they are not.
You should also check that the songs have album name info in their ID tags.

Please help; Getting annoying message

I bought my first Mac about 2 months ago. It is a PowerBook G4 with a 1.67 GHz PowerPC G4 processor and 2 GB DDR2 SDRAW Memory. The hard drive is 111GB with 68 GB free. The operating system is Mac OS X Version 10.5.6.
The reason I am writing is I caused myself an annoying problem. Every time I startup the computer or wake it from sleeping I get a message 4 or 5 times then it stops until the next time I wake the computer or reboot it. This is the message I am getting;
"Internet Connect"
"Could not open the communication device".
It came about after I turned the Bluetooth on and configured my A707 Sync phone to connect to my Mac via Bluetooth. I needed to get some pictures off the phone. Ever since I did that I keep getting that annoying message and I have to hit okay on the message to get rid of it each time. Sometimes it comes up and I do not notice it because I am looking at the key board typing. Of course everything I just typed was not added because I needed to okay the message first. It is very annoying.
I have since deleted my phone and turned off the Bluetooth, but I still keep getting the message. If anyone has an ideas how I can get rid of this message I sure would appreciate the help. Please keep in mind I do not have any of the restore disks. I bought my Mac used. I did order a Firewire External hard drive to back it up. I hope to have this problem solved first.
Any help and suggestions are welcome!

you could try moving either file one at a time, don't delete them though
if moving the files and restarting does not fix the problem you can always put them back to the original location, it's just settings files
possibly you'd need to setup your network prefernces again
also, in System Preferences, click on Accounts pane, then your user name (you may need a password for that)
on the right side of the Accounts window there is "Login Items" tab, see if anything shows up in login items
as a guess, machine tries to connect by looking for your cell phone to use as a modem or something
maybe check Network preference pane, see what shows up in Bluetooth

A bit more question for dear people:
In the notes, it's mainly focus on JAXB,
1. Is that mean JAXB is most popular parser for
parsing XML into Java object? With me, definitely. There are essentially 3 technologies that allow you to parse XML documents:
1) "Callbacks" (e.g. SAX in JAXP): You write a class that overrides 3 methods that will be called i) whenever the parser encounters a start tag, ii) an end tag, or iii) PCDATA. Drawback: You have to figure out where the heck in the document hierarchy you are when such a callback happens, because the same method is called on EACH start tag and similarly for the end tag and the PCDATA. You have to create the objects and put them into your own data structure - it's very tedious, but you have complete control. (Well, more or less.)
2) "Tree" (e.g. DOM in JAXP, or it's better cousin JDOM): You call a parser that in one swoop creates an entire hierarchy that corresponds to the XML document. You don't get called on each tag as with SAX, you just get the root of the resulting tree. Drawback: All the nodes in the tree have the same type! You probably want to know which tags are in the document, don't you? Well, you'll have to traverse the tree and ask each node: What tag do you represent? And what are your attributes? (You get only strings in response even though your attributes often represent numbers.) Unless you want to display the tree - that's a nice application, you can do it as a tree model for JTree -, or otherwise don't care about the individual tags, DOM is not of much help, because you have to keep track where in the tree you are while you traverse it.
3) Enter JAXB (or Castor, or ...): You give it a grammar of the XML documents you want to parse, or "unmarshall" as the fashion dictates to call it. (Actually the name isn't that bad, because "parsing" focuses on the input text while "unmarshalling" focuses on the objects you get, even though I'd reason that it should be marshalling that converts into objects and unmarshalling that converts objects to something else, and not vice versa but that's just my opinion.) The JAXB compiler creates a bunch of source files each with one (or now more) class(es) (and now interfaces) that correspond to the elements/tags of your grammar. (Now "compiler" is a true jevel of a misnomer, try to explain to students that after they run the "compiler", they still need to compile the sources the "compiler" generated with the real Java compiler!). Ok, you've got these sources compiled. Now you call one single method, unmarshall() and as a result you get the root node of the hierarchy that corresponds to the XML document. Sounds like DOM, but it's much better - the objects in the resulting tree don't have all the same type, but their type depends on the tag they represent. E.g if there is the tag <ball-game> then there will be an object of type myPackage.BallGame in your data structure. It gets better, if there is <score> inside <ball-game> and you have an object ballGame (of type BallGame) that you can simply call ballGame.getScore() and you get an object of type myPackage.Score. In other words, the child tags become properties of the parent object. Even better, the attributes become properties, too, so as far as your program is concerned there is no difference whether the property value was originally a tag or an attribute. On top of that, you can tell in your schema that the property has an int value - or another primitive type (that's like that in 1.0, in the early release you'll have to do it in the additional xjs file). So this is a very natural way to explore the data structure of the XML document. Of course there are drawbacks, but they are minor: daunting complexity and, as a consequence, very steep learning curve, documentation that leaves much to reader's phantasy - read trial and error - (the user's guide is too simplicistic and the examples too primitive, e.g. they don't even tell you how to make a schema where a tag has only attributes) and reference manual that has ~200 pages full of technicalities and you have to look with magnifying glas for the really usefull stuff, huge number of generated classes, some of which you may not need at all (and in 1.0 the number has doubled because each class has an accompanying interface), etc., etc. But overall, all that pales compared to the drastically improved efficiency of the programmer's efforts, i.e. your time. The time you'll spend learning the intricacies is well spent, you'll learn it once and then it will shorten your programming time all the time you use it. It's like C and Java, Java is order of magnitude more complex, but you'd probably never be sorry you gave up C.
Of course the above essay leaves out lots and lots of detail, but I think that it touches the most important points.
A word about JAXB 1.0 vs. Early Release (EA) version. If you have time, definitively learn 1.0, they are quite different and the main advantage is that the schema combines all the info that you had to formulate in the DTD and in the xjs file when using the EA version. I suggested EA was because you had a DTD already, but in retrospect, you better start from scratch with 1.0. The concepts in 1.0 are here to stay and once your surmounted the learning curve, you'll be glad that you don't have to switch concepts.
When parser job is done,
what kind of Java Object we will get? (String,
InputStream or ...)See above, typically it's an object whose type is defined as a class (and interface in 1.0) within the sources that JABX generates. Or it can be a String or one of the primitive types - you tell the "compiler" in the schema (xjs file in EA) what you want!

I am very new to XML, is there any simpler way to get
around them? It has already take me 4 days to find a
simple parser which give it XML and DTD, then return

exists....It'll take you probably magnitude longer that that to get really familiar with JAXB, but believe me it's worth it. You'll save countless days if not weeks once you'll start developing serious software with it. How long did it take you to learn Java and it's main APIs? You'll either invest the time learning how to use the software others have written, or you invest it writing it yourself. I'll take the former any time. But it's only my opinion...

Video does not Work in iTunes Store please help! annoying problem!

The video does not work in the itunes store. I get no picture, only sound when i want to preview a music video or a movie trailer. No video at all. However, i can watch my movies and music videos that i already own. Please, is there any smart guy who knows a solution?

I'm having this same issue. I tried some things but still couldn't get it to work the way it used too.
It will not play the video portion in iTunes only the audio if I click on the song. If I switch the settings from Music Video to TV show in the info tab, the file plays fine. If I open it in Quicktime, the file plays fine.
I've tried changing the preferences so that the video will play in the iTunes window, in a separate window, etc. and all it plays is the audio and will show the artwork instead of playing the video.

Ever since I updated to iOS 8 on iPhone 5, sometimes when I press the home button just once it will open the app switcher or even the assistive button. Anyone else have this problem? Is it an iOS 8 glitch? Please help - very annoying.

I updated to iOS 8 on my iPhone 5 yesterday and now when I press the home button even once, it opens the app switcher (which is supposed to only open after pressing the home button twice quickly). Sometimes pressing the home button once even brings up the assistive button (which for me should take three button presses). This did not happen before I updated my software. Has anyone else had this issue? Know how to stop it? Very annoying and at this point feel like I should have waited before I did the update.

Hello ..do you have a history on the phone? did you get it wet? was it dropped? have you been using an authentic ORIGINAL apple charging cable?
this problem occurs when there is a short circuit in the phone... you most likely got it wet at some point and maybe didnt even realize it? The moisture in the phone hasb probablly oxidized one or several capacitors, integrated chips thereby short circuiting the phone. that is why he phone is acting erratic because these short circuits inadvertently "activates" other circuits.. eventually the phone will not turn on anymore- the heat will stress the citcuit board and you will have discontinuity along your main power lines and the phone will cease to function..i see this alllll the time in our shop
the fact you upgraded to ios6 will even work the phone harder because its a more powerful operating system taking full advantage of the A4 chip..

Converting videos PLEASE HELP REALLY FRUSTRATED

i decrypted wedding crashers and I tried to convert it and as soon as i did it shot up to 98% in two seconds. and now it is just staying there.

the same thing happpened to me what the problem is is that it was put in a muxed format and there are two different components the video component and the sound one. i tried to convert my movie but apple hasn;t created one to switch the muxed sound component, i have yet to find one that does.

Weird screen please help really desperate

I recently plugged my i pod touch in and wen i got back it had this weird screen that i cannot change and therefore cant do all that this amazing device offers... this screen is the white usb portion of the charger cable that u plug into the computer goin up and then the itunes symbol thank you for your effort!!!

Actually the screen you are seeing is telling you that you must connect to iTunes to restore your touch. Since you are getting and error when you try to connect, you need to look at your computer and see if it is running Apple Mobile Device Services (this handles the communication between the iPod and iTunes).
