Please help screen blank
hi
this is the second time in 2 weeks that my iphone 3gs has has gone blank and does not respond. I fixed it the first time.
I wonder why this keeps happening. any reasons why?
it was chanrged at 70 % i made a call and next time i saw this is what has happened.
please help
Standard troubleshooting steps in the following order:
1. Power the iphone off, then back on.
If no change, continue:
2. Reset: Press the sleep/wake button & home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the apple logo, then release. Ignore the slide to power off. No saved data or settings will be lost.
If no change, continue:
3. Restore your phone from your most recent backup, Note, however: if the problem is related to corrupt data in your phone's backup, while this will restore a fresh OS, it will also restore the problem.
If no change, continue:
4. Restore as a "new" phone in itunes & re-sync your content. All saved data will be lost.
If no change, make an appointment at an Apple store, as you most likely have a hardware problem. There are no more user troubleshooting steps available.

sob Please help - screen just showing flashing colours
I`ve had my ibook 1.4MHz laptop for about a year, and never had any problems. suddenly today i was watching a movie and the screen juddered and blinked on/off a few times, then went plain black. Then it went plain white. Then blue, then red, then green - and it just continues to slowly cycle through those colours.
I`ve tried killing the power and rebooting, and the hardrive makes all the right whirring sounds, but the display just comes up slowly cycling through those colours again.
I don`t have any kind of warrenty for it, since i bought it 2nd hand through a classified ad. I realise i`m gonna have to take it to get repaired, but i`d be really grateful for any ideas about what it might be, and (more importantly) how expensive its gonna be to repair.
Please help!!! This machine is my life!It sounds like a logic board failure to me. If I remember correctly, out of warranty logic board replacements will run you somewhere in the ballpark of US$900. Of course, because it is out of warranty, it would be a lot cheaper to visit a site such as www.pbfixit.com.They offer guides to tell you how to perform any ibook operation. But, it will require dismantling just about the entire computer, and you probably aren't up to that. Not many people I know are. So, have Apple do it-US$900. DIY-around US$500, and you get to do it. Or, buy a new computer and try to copy you're files to the new one-US$1200, and you get a brand new computer. Those are the options I forsee, but I may be wrong. Any way, you are spending a lot of money.

Urgent - please help with blank lines
Guys need you help, please.
How do I put blank lines in a repeating frame even if there are records or no(about 20 lines with say 5 columns). I need those lines like our ruled notebooks, for the users to enter something.

Joe.These are blank tabular columns(20 rows 5 col). These rows might have names and other details like a master/details relationship. if there are records in details then print all those details and the blank rows to fillup 20 rows. if there are no details then print those 20 blank rows/columns. i tried doing this with one repeating frame and increasing the number of rows value to 20, but then it stops at the point of the detail rows and does not put the blank rows (lines). so had to create 2 repeating frames.

Please please help, screen issue
Could someone please look at this picture and see if they know what's going on with my screen?? Is there's fix for it before I have to take it in. I haven't backed up in a long while

It does seem to get very very hot lately. It started up fine this morning and after about a half hour, the screen went haywire again. I was working on backing up stuff, but it never got through it all. I was able to get some documents for work on my jump drive before it went out the last time last night. It seems to be ok once it is cooled down but then after a while it starts to get hot. So we'll see what they find at my appointment.
I have applecare and its still under warranty until Feb 2011. Good thing it went out before it was Feb.
I dont know if this has anything to do with it, but I did a software update last night before everything started going haywire. We'll see what they say. I didnt have a chance to print out that article, so hopefully they know about it. I do have it in my email if they need a reminder.

Please Help - Screen corruption while in Aperture - graphics card problem?
Over the past few weeks, I have noticed frequent screen corruption within the confines of the image that I am currently editing. The corruption only occurs when in Aperture. The corruption occurs as multiple thin (one pixel?) horizontal lines of random color and random length that occur in random locations within the image. If I force a re-calculation of the image (such as change white balance) the random lines will disappear, only to reappear somewhere else. The actual image (after export) is never corrupted, only the display. Recently Aperture has started to "hang" in random ways, sometimes freezing the whole machine, sometimes crashing, sometimes beach-balling.
This sounds like a hardware problem to me, but the standard Apple hardware test runs without errors, as does an extended memtest. Setup: Mac Pro, 5GB, SW fully updated to 10.4.11 and Aperture 1.5.6. I tried re-seating the graphics board to no avail.
Are there any programs that I can use to test the Radeon X1900 card?
Any other suggestions?

I did some more research and it appears that quite a few of us (unlucky) users with an early version of the Radeon X1900 graphics card are now seeing failures that appear to be due to poor heat dissipation by the graphics card. There's a huge thread on the subject here:

The problem with random display glitches doesn't show up for most people until they upgrade to Leopard, which puts a larger strain on the graphics card than Tiger. I am still running Tiger, but the glitches show up for me when using Aperture, which of course uses the graphics card more aggressively than most other programs. I assume that Aperture increases the heat which causes the glitches.
I tried cleaning the dust out of the Radeon's heat sink, and I added a tool (smcFanControl) that lets me manually override the default fan speed. By keeping the card's temperature lower, the glitches have gone away. If I let the temperature rise, they come back. Looks like I'll be needed a new graphics card. -
i recently installed windows 7(ultimate) on my 13 inch macbook pro.Everything was installed correcly and window also workd correctly in the first run,but when i shutdown the mac and booted again after some time it showd blank and screen. PLEASE help me to fix it.

You are not having the same problem, the OP's problem was caused by USB devices which you do not have.

It doesn't seem to matter what project I'm working on... the picture in the viewer is gone. All I see is a blank (white) screen. If I put the cursor over the viewer and drag to the timeline, the clip will appear on the time line (and in the canvas) but I don't see it in the viewer. I usually edit my clips in the viewer and not on the canvas. Can anyone explain why this might be happening and how I might fix. I'm suspecting I must have messed up one of the settings but I'll be darned if I can figure out which one or how to fix. Please help!
David. Thank you very much. The problem was not with the canvas but rather the Viewer. But the solution was the same. Somehow, the Viewer window was re-set to Alpha. I changed it back to RGB.... and the picture is back. These issues are often very simple.... but they can drive you bats if you don't know the answer. Very grateful. Tim

i accidently downloaded something as i opened a site. it now means i cannot use safari because everytime i try to open it, it just goes to a blank black page and wont let me do anything. what can i do? please help! my iphone is either a 3G or 3GS?
You cannot get a virus on an iPhone unless it is jailbroken. The site you displayed may be corrupt, however. Press the HOME button if not on the HOME screen, then press it again. Hold your finger on the Safari app that appears in the recently used ribbon, then tap the "-" to close it. Next go to Settings/Safari and tap Clear History, then Clear Cookies and Data.

I am not able to ENLARGE photos on Facebook, this means photos that friends post on News Feed & photos that I post in my FB photo albums. I only get a BLANK, BLACK screen when I click on individual photos. A friend suggested that I upload the New Firefox, and I did this today, but it did not resolve problem. Friend also suggested that it could be "Screen Resolution Setting"?? OR "Data Rate" too slow?? I do not know how to check these features? Please help! Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

You can use these steps to check if images are blocked:
* Open the web page that has the images missing in a browser tab.

See if any of the following fix it.
Try logging out of your account on your phone by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and tap 'Sign Out' on the popup and then log back in.
If that doesn't fix it then try closing the iTunes store app via the phone's multitasking bar and see if it works properly when you open the app : double-click the home button to open the taskbar and then swipe or drag iTunes from there up and off the top of the screen to close it, and the click the home button to close the taskbar.
A third thing to try is a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent of a reboot. -
Screen is blank on a t43. PLEASE help me!
I have a thinkpad t43. When I push power, it seems to turn on, but the screen is blank. When it turns on though it make beep signals, however, none of the suggested beep signals on the lenovo website match my beep signals. It makes four short beeps, followed by three long beeps. and the screen is blank. When its powered on, the power lights appear, and the CPU is clearly running. Frankly I don't know what to do. Please help me.
Yea i tried that already with every screen in my house and they all didnt work. I tried your idea of playing with the lighting, and that didnt seem to work either. I have been looking online and it seems that the security board is most likely the one to blame. Only problem is they cost half as much as the darn computer did. But i hope that im wrong.
