Please help: severe software/ hardware falure

Ok, i did a wireless update to my curve 8530, after the update the phone was not working properly, so i reloaded original software, the latest on desktop software. Halfway throgh the update, my phone rebooted and the screen turned white and it sayed APP ERROR 523/reset, i clicked reset and it keeps hapenning please help!!!!!!!!!

  • Please Help, Several Applications Won't Open!

    I'm not sure if this is the right thread for this. Please point me in the right direction if it isn't. I just did a software update. The current "internet security update" was, I believe, one of installs (I wish I paid more attention). Now, I have several internet related applications that won't work. Safari, my browser of choice, won't open (I'm doing this on Firefox). My email app, Eudora, won't open. Quicktime won't open. I just tried reinstalling both Safari and Eudora. Both still won't open. I haven't done anything with Quicktime yet. Just checked other applications (RealPlayer, Windows Media Player). Neither will open. Is there a conflict somewhere? How can I resolve this? Please help!

    As others have noted, get a bootable, external HD, and make a bootable backup/clone before updating. That allows you to revert to the previous good state without having to reinstall everything.

  • Please help identify Unknown hardware

    Can someone please help me to identify a peice of hardware. On The front it says Digital Data Storage, there is the number 3 as well and underneath it says model # 611. I know its a type of storage device but i cant find any documentation. If someone could help i would be very grateful

    It is a DDS3 tape drive in a type 611 chassis shell.
    If I recall correctly, that chassis shell is also referred to as a Unipak.
    You could use if for making backups of your filesystems.
    It will be a Single-Ended SCSI device, so you'd need a SCSI adapter card to make it work.
    The mechanical components of the tape drive were actually from HP.
    (there are only two or three tape drive manufacturers, who make them for everyone)
    Each DDS3 tape cartridge can hold approximately 12GB of information; more if file compression software is used.
    I cannot give you links to Sun references for that entire assembly,
    access to that portion of the SSH requires a service contract,
    but <u>this link is for the drive mechanism</u>, itself.

  • Please Help ipod software not on ipod nano

    I have accidently deleted the software off my boyfriends ipod nano and now there is nothing on it at all. Stupid thing to do i know formatted it cause he wanted the songs taken off but did it the wrong way and got rid of everything.

    Download the latest version of the iPod updater program from Apple, install it, and then run it. While it's running, have the iPod connected and pick the option to Restore the iPod. that will put a fresh copy of the ipod software back on it.

  • Please help! Software doesn't work

    Hello all,
    I'm sort of having a major issue here. Almost every single program that I installed on my iMac does not open — including Google SketchUp for Mac, Call of Duty 2 for Mac (it's Universal, and yes I put the disc in), RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 (not Universal but it ran before!), Railroad Tycoon 3 (also not Universal, but it also ran before), and all Microsoft Office applications. The icon for each thing just bounces once or twice before it stops. I have nothing else open (besides Finder).
    I also notice something odd in Activity Monitor — I have not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4! AppleSpells running. (One is taking more threads than the others.)
    I also noticed that the "applicaton" loginwindow was open (it's normally not).
    Core/root/whatever processes were: Speech Synthesis Server, loginwindow, mdimport, pbs, ATSServer, SystemUIServer, AppleSpell, UniversalAccessApp (huh? I don't need Universal Access...) AppleSpell, AppleSpell, AppleSpell, aped, and iTunes Helper.
    Can somebody please help me?

    It would appear that you need some repairs, let's start simple. Restart and when you hear the bong hold down the shift key. This will start you up in Safe Mode and it should say that in the startup screen.
    Then restart again normally and run Repair Permissions with Disk Utility. See if that helps.
    Note that is you've disable fonts in Font Book they will no longer be disabled after the safe boot because it deletes all font caches, which actually might be what solves your problem.

    I just signed on this afternoon. I do not believe you need to remove the battery to activate an upgrade or installation. Your phone may reboot to activate, but you don't need to remove the battery to reboot.

    I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction regarding the following. I am studying abrasive particles and have many SEM still images of particles ranging from 10-120 microns. I am looking for some software that will allow me to easily calculate various properties relating to the particle, such as size, geometry, area ect - or anything really that might be of use to allow me to compare one particle with another.
    1) Is there certain features which may be useful to know when it comes to comparing abrasive particles?
    2) Is there simple software available that would be suitable (i was recommended a program called SIGMAscan but this seems perhaps too much of an investment at around $900 for what i need it for).

    No, you are not on the correct board. Measure is an add-on for Excel.
    NI sells a Vision Development Module and Vision Builder but both are considerably more than $900. Questions about either should be posted to the Machine Vision board.

  • I have tried everything but iphoto won't export to snapfish.  It says check network connection, but I am clearly connected to the internet, email and everything works.  I have updated the software reset the PRAM, restarted a million times, please help me!

    Several people including myself are having the same issue and have contacted HP and Apple. Quite frankly, I'm surprised it's been an issue for so long being that photos uploaded to Snapfish = $$$.  Lets hope they can work this one out, as of now, there apparently is no solution.

    Check for hardware issues
    Try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good. Also, confirm your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers. If you still see the alert when you update or restore, contact Apple support.
    Common errors: 1, 10-47, 1002, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1000-1020.
    If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

    Please correct your porfile: iPhone 4 do not have IOS 6.1.4.
    The usual troubleshooting steps are, also remember to test it after every step:
    1. Restart
    2. Reset
    3. Restore from backup
    4. Restore as new.
    If no joy, make an Appointment with the Apple genius and have them evaluate

    I wish I could help, but I am in a similar situation.
    I need to deactivate it because we are getting rid of the computer it is on and are buying a new one. When I go to Help there is no Deactivate option. The only options are: "Help", "Hide Coach", "Tip of the Day", "Adobe Website", "Technical Support Website", "Frequently Asked Questions", "Check for Updates", "Register", "Download e-License..." (Greyed out), "Return e-License..." (Greyed out) and "About Adobe Visual Communicator 3". I spoke with support through chat and they said my product was no longer supported.

    I cannot find "Other" devices. I found Apple Mobile Device under Universal Bus Controllers but cannot see "recovery mode" or any other status. I use Windows Vista.
    When I try to restart Apple Mobile Device Service I get the following message: "The Apple Mobile Device Service on Local Computer started then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs". What does this mean?
    During the last 48 hours I was able to see my iPad in iTunes only one time during many attemnpts to connect . I haven't been able to see it during the llast several attempts.
    Any suggestions? The standard suggestions have not worked: i.e. stop then start AMDS; tuurn off iPad and PC, then restart both and reconfrom iPad to PC; reload iTunes.
