Please help, slide show for a funeral in jepoardy

I seem to be having trouble inporting scanned pictures from iphoto into imovie 08. This is my process.
1. Scan the photos.
2. Save as JPEG image into the pictures folder (Not the iphoto file, but pictures -My save as choices do not include iphoto).
3. Do a drag and drop of picture from picture folder into opened iphoto program. I can now see them in iphoto and have placed them in a seperate iphoto album.
4. When I choose pictures (right hand side button that looks like a camera) it shows me all my pictures EXCEPT any scanned ones. I have 6000 pictures in iphoto, but imovie only sees 4000 (2000 are scanned).
5. When I try to do a drag and drop from iphoto directly into imovie, imovie tells me the pictures are not compatable.
What am I doing wrong? My guess is something from the scanning aspect. Please help, the family just dropped the pictures off last night and the funeral is tomorrow.

Sounds like the iPhoto album contents are not being thumbnailed. Try bypassing the thumbnails by dragging a photo file from either the "Picture" folder or the open iPhoto album and dropping it directly to your Project window. If this works then you know the problem is in the thumbnailing.
If this works and you are in such a hurry, I would suggest you simply set your iMovie '08 Project Properties for the default photo/transition mode you want and then drag and drop all photos directly to the iMovie '08 project window and then rearrange/change them as needed.Thus you can get to work on your funeral slideshow immediately and put off trying to fix the thumbnail problem until you have the time to concentrate on it exclusively. (I.e., deal with one problem at a time.)

Not the only one. Though I have not retryed my installation. Here is what happen to me and please verify if you had the same (sounds like it).
1. Installed 10.8.4 on top of 10.8.3 and install went fine.
2. I have installed a Niffy Drive (though no SD in it) ... but did not realize potential problem you suggest.
3. its a MBPr
4. Boot took for every (it 40 seconds from after I logedin to system screen on 10.8.3) but after (ie on 10.8.4) took forever 10-15 minutes with a cursor in the upper left on a white/gray screen.
5. I reinstalled to 10.8.3 and all works as before
6. But sounds like after removing niffy dirve I should reinstall??? Ie the problem I described was the same as yours.

• in iTunes - Burn out PlayList as an Audio-CD .aiff (no .mp3)
• Use the files on this CD in Your SlideShow projects
I create my SlideShows in iMovie HD6 or FinalCut - never iMovie'08 or 09 or 11 as result is less than I accepts (they discard every second line when exporting to iDVD)

Greetings!! I'm trying to create a slide show for my 25th Anniversary for my husband. I have downloaded the music from iTunes. but do not know how (or even IF thereis a way) to add it to DVD maker on my PC. Can anyone help? Anniversary celebration is Saturday, so time is short.

IDVD will import from IPhoto with no problem and, you could create your slideshow from there.
It will only allow you to add one transition but, it sounds as if you are lacking in the time area, so it might be a good option for you really. I have never created any of my slideshows with IMovie , only FCE. in fact I have never even launched IMovie but, if working with stills in IMovie is even a reflection of how it is in FCE. then IDVD would be your best option in my opinion. to many things can go wrong such as fluttery images giving you bad playback, and you'll not have the time to gaussian blur out you problems.
You could always use Photo to Movie http://www.lqgraphics.com/software/phototomovie.php
It's fast and easy to use and, will allow you a lot more transition. it will allow you to import into IDVD.
The down side of FTM would be the render time depending on your machine.

Hi there - My artwork doesn't show up in the iTunes store.
Artwork shows up fine in the downloaded episodes, but in the store, only the "plain" podcast icon shows up. It's been nearly a week.
-I published my feed with Feeder and host it on my site
-Feedburner pulls it in
-I submitted it myself in iTunes (using the feedburner feed-need it for stats)
-I have been approved, and people have started subscribing.
-Feed has been vetted, and appears to be ok.

The image is correctly referenced in the feed and there is an image at that URL. Some people have found that it takes some time for the image to appear, even after the podcast itself has been approved and appeared in the Store. so I should give it another few days.

Adobe elements 10. slide show for tv is poor quality

The only output selection for a CD/DVD slide show has a pixel count of 320X240. What level of Adobe software do I have to upgrade my Adobe software to have decent slide/show pictures on a TV?

"Slide show" for a web page

Hi all! I have a client who wants me to make a slide show to go on his web page. Up until now, I've been creating animated gifs. But now he wants the slides to fade or dissolve in to one another. I can do this in iMovie. But... the slide show has to be a specific size. I'm not sure in iMovie how to make a specifically sized movie. Plus, I'm not sure of the best way to save it. SWF? I've posted on the iMovie forum, but didn't get any helpful responses. I've looked online for help, but apparently I'm not using the right search criteria. All I find are instructions on making movies to run off of a computer.... not on a web page.
Oh... it also needs to loop continuously. Is this a setting I set in Dreamweaver? Animated gifs are set to loop when I create them in Photoshop. But I couldn't figure out how to do this in iMovie.

PLEASE HELP! Shows Update, but won't do it

I am trying to update my iPod Touch to the 2.0 version. It says, "A newer version of iPod software is available (version 2.0). To update your iPod with the latest software, click Update."
I Click Update and this pops up: "A new iPod software version (2.0)is available for the iPod. Would you like more information from the iTunes store now?"
And I click learn more. It goes to a white screen with the word "iPod" on it for about 5 seconds and then back to the iPod home screen.

Quicktime slide shows for dvd and Quicktime movies

I am trying to make a slide show(s) out of several thousand
jpegs to dvd and also trying to make one quicktime movie from
short quicktime movie files.I have downloaded quicktime 7.6
pro and when I was looking at the pages on the download site
I get no pull down options like were shown ,when I click quicktime
the player comes up but thats it no options for slideshows no options for
making any type of movie ?????Am I being numb?and does anyone know
how to do either of these things in quicktime?My machine is only 933mgz
so no ilfe-imovie-idvd answers please they wont run on my machine,
besides quicktime claims to be able to do these things!

Please Help - Same issue for years - Mail rule switches itself!

This issue has plagued me with Apple Mail for years and I would like to finally resolve this to keep my sanity. Please help!
We have used the MobileMe family account (5 pack) for awhile and both my wife and I have our own unique email address that is set and we also have one combined account that we use as well. I have some rules in place to help keep the mail organized. Often we will get 1 e-mail for both of us (i.e. a message about a group we are both in or a sports team for our children) - it is sent to our joint account and then the Mail rule will handle putting them in both our boxes.
There is the one rule that keeps changing itself! It's maddening. Here is what I want to occur:
1. I get an e-mail to our joint MobileMe account.
2. The rule will move that specific message to my folder and then place a copy of that message in my wife's folder.
That's it. That's all that I want it to do.
Here is what I put in the mail rule description to make that happen:
IF "any" conditions met:
"Any recipient" is equal to "joint account e-mail address"
Perform following actions:
"Move message" to "my mailbox"
"copy message" to "her mailbox"
"Stop evaluating rules"
That's it. Here is where the problem ensues. This rule will actually work correctly for 1 or 2 times. Then what happens is somehow this rule actually changes itself and when I open up the rule description it will actually show:
"Move message" to "my mailbox"
"Copy message" to "my mailbox"
Ugh. So I end up getting two copies of the same thing and have to physically move it over. It seems so simple and I can't understand why it keeps switching itself.
I've had the issue ever since we had our family account and back to the Tiger operating system. I would love to get this fixed for good!

I may well have missed something, but it seems to me that the command to Copy to her mailbox should come before the command to Move to your mailbox. That way the source remains available until the final Move step. I cannot say why the Rule construction would change by itself, but I can see the possibility of confusion if the Move comes before the Copy.

hello. i am a newbie so be patient.
i just made my first site. but i can't figure out how to publish it. when i hit publish, it asks me to sign in by bringing up my system preferences. and nothing will ever happen after signing in.
i did publish to a folder, and was able to see it when iweb directed me directly to it, but i have no idea what the url is, or if this is even right.
please help.

Normally, when entering a password in for the first time, you are asked if you want to add it to your keychain.
There is a "New Password" command under the File menu in Keychain Access, but I don't know how to set it correctly for .mac.
I would suggest that you use the "Keychain First Aid" command in the Keychain Access menu and see if any problems show up.
Beyond that, I'd suggest searching this forum for "log in" or the like. I've seen issues like this mentioned before. Maybe there is a solution that I'm not remember.

Exporting a Slide Show for YouTube

I've exported a slide via QUICKTIME. It looks fine when I play it but after I upload it to YouTube, some of the still images are scrambled. The still photos are completely damaged. It's hard to describe but the images not recoginizable at all. They consist of scrambled glitches, if that makes sense.
What is best codec, format, etc for exporting a slide show, and for you youtube.
the YT site was not very helpful.

I'd first export a self-contained movie (File->Export->QuickTime Movie) and see if that plays OK in QuickTime Player. If it does, then convert it to H.264 for uploading to youtube.
If it doesn't play OK in QuickTime, post the Sequence settings you're using in FCE for that project.
