**PLEASE HELP** SLideshow export

Hello APPLE,
it seems many people are having problems with EXPORTing and just working with slideshow .... great idea let's just make it work.
MY Problem, I created a great slideshow in iPhoto and now I want to post it in iWeb how there is not an export to iWeb options? Or why can't I create the sameone in iWeb using the scrapbook option and sync it with my music???????????????????????

Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
I created a great slideshow in iPhoto and now I want to post it in iWeb how there is not an export to iWeb options?
You'll need to ask Apple.
Or why can't I create the sameone in iWeb using the scrapbook option and sync it with my music?
You'll need to ask Apple.
Exporting from iPhoto creates a QuickTime Movie. Use that with iWeb.
There are two ways to create a slideshow in iPhoto.
Pressing the Play button will make a quick and dirty slideshow of whatever you're looking at - this album, event, whatever. However this method has no built-in export option.
To create a Slideshow for export click on the '+' button lower left and select Slideshow
This will bring the Slideshow Toolbar to the fore and you can make all the decisions and choices you prefer for the show. Then, click on the Export button on the Slideshow Toolbar will give you the much enhanced export options in iPhoto 09.
You appear to have a stuck key on your keyboard.

  • Please help with export issue with HD.

I have a current project set at 1920x1080 HDTV 1080i (16x9) and my customer has decided to change his mind and not go HD 16x9 which I had shot in specifically for this reason. What settings could I use to export for 720x480 DVD 4:3? Please help.
    Thanks
    Joe

+Do I copy and past the Sequence file from the HD into a DV NTSC new project? Yes or no?+
Yes. Once you are done export it to Compressor to encode your video into an m2v and the audio into an ac3 dolby stereo. Then import those as assets in DVDstudio4, create your menu, if you need one and burn your DVD.
+Can you give me a more step by step?+
As I asked before...are you not familiar with using Compressor and/or DVD Studio Pro?
If not (and if the links I sent to you are not helpful enough) then follow these two approaches:
(Hope Shane Ross doesn't mind if I report one of his stock answers about a basic way to make a DVD followed by my basic "step by step" use of Compressor in order to give the OP a quick and easy support).
    Shane Ross wrote:
+The absolute simplest way to make a DVD using FCP and DVDSP is as follows:+
+1. Export a QT movie, either a reference file or self contained using current settings.+
+2. Open DVDSP, select the "graphical" tab and you will see two little monitors, one blue, one green.+
+3. Select the left blue one and hit delete.+
+4. Now, select the green one, right click on it amd select the top option "first play".+
+5. Now drag your QT from the broswer and drop it on top of the green monitor.+
+6. Now, for a DVD from an HD source, look to the right side and select the "general tab" in the track editor, and see the Display Mode, and select "16:9 pan-scan."+
+7. Hit the little black and yellow burn icon at the top of the page and put a a DVD in when prompted. DVDSP will encode and burn your new DVD.+
    +THATS ALL!!!+
+NOW...if you want a GOOD LOOKING DVD, instead of taking your REF movie into DVD SP, instead take it into Compressor and choose the BEST QUALITY ENCODE (2 pass VBR) that matches your show timing. Then take THAT result into DVD SP and follow the rest of the steps. Except you can choose "16:9 LETTERBOX" instead of PAN & SCAN if you want to see the entire image.+

Creating your MPEG2 and AC3 files with Compressor:
Compressor will create an Mpeg2 of your edited video and an ac3 (dolby stereo) for the audio (You can't create ac3audio with DVDstudio).
(Use google for any farther information about any word or definition that remains slightly unclear to you).
After that is done burning your DVD with DVDStudio will be quicker and easier.
    Step 1
Once you are done with the edit you can:
either export it straight from the timeline to Compressor (File>Export>Using Compressor)
or create a QT movie (check self-contained in the export window) and import into Compressor after you open it.
If you export it straight from the timeline Compressor will open automatically,
if you wish to use the self-contained QT movie you can still export it from an open FCP project or open Compressor independently. If the the latter is your case once you open Compressor click on Add File in the toolbar (top left corner ).
In both cases your video will appear in an untitled project right below the toolbar. You can see the movie (or FCP) icon and the title of your project.
Now, the simplest way to proceed is as follow:
you see the text next to the icon of your movie (in the blue rectangle) saying "drag here settings and destinations"? Now go to the settings window below, you can see the settings and destinations tabs. Go to Settings>Apple 4 groups>DVD 10 groups>DVD best quality 90 minutes two settings. This is the most common setting to use.
In a nutshell drag the DVD best quality 90 minutes folder over the "drag settings and destinations here" text. Choose your destination. If you click each setting the inspector window activates. Now before we go ahead I suggest you to read the manual and understand the importance of the inspector window and its functions. In particular read about Avarege bit rate, maximum bit rate and in general Variable frame rate (VBR) and constant frame rate. With regard to audio read about ac3.
This time we leave default settings and proceed by clicking the Submit button.
In the preview window, right below the player commands you can see a little arrow and a date, click on the arrow and you can see that Compressor is encoding your video.
    Step 2
When the encoding process is over open DVDstudio.
See the first button of the toolbar , top left? Click on Import Asset, find your encoded audio and video files and open them.
Now since your movie has been already compressed video(Mpeg2) and audio (ac3) they will show in the assets tab below the graphical tab followed by two green lights.
From now follow Shane Ross's steps from point 3 if you don't want a menu.
If you need a menu there's a simple video tutorial that came with FCP studio 2 discs . Take a look at that.
    Best,
    G.

  • Please help, When exporting, I get the wrong size in DVD, ...I am in a hurry :)

    Dear sir
I have this problem that I can not find the answer for. I have looked around. Hope someone are able to help me. I would think it would be no problem at all, but....
    I use a Panasonic HDC- SD60, 1920x1080 HD
I make project by choosing the General setting as set. then I choose DV-pal widescreen 48 khz.
I import file from harddrive, and put the file to the icon "new item" to make premier choose the 1920x1080 in timeline.
then I export, using Ctrl + M. After that I choose both
    default settings
    and Microsoft AVI
I also tried to crop size in this window
    Problem is:
ALWAYS THE SAME, THE DVD FILE HAVE BLACK SIDEBARS LEFT AND RIGHT IN THE SCREEN, NOMATHER HOW I TRY TO EXPORT.
This is the problem, I want to use a widescreen TV, and make it fit here.
PLEASE, if you know the solution...
    Your making my DAY
    Best regards Stig Morterud

Put your HD footage in a matching sequence.
Export straight to mpeg-2 dvd or Send to Encore and let Encore do the math.
    Thanks for answer.
I think I already added the HD movie in the correct sequence type. I dropped it on the icon, and the program itself provides to add the sequence of 1980x1020.
    Do you agree?
If I'm going to use MPEG-2 DVD, it will reduce the quality of the movie. Also, I tried this, but the film, and the sound became there own seperat file. (?)
I thought it was like that when I chose the widescreen, so it would fit your widescreen TV. Especially when I selected the appropriate frames on the timeline.

  • Please help me export my project?!!

    Hi,
After days of tearing my hair out I've still not been able to resolve my issue.
    I want to burn a 2 hour and 20 min 16:9 PAl video onto a 4.7GB/120 min DVD-R.
I've exported the file in quicktime and directly from FCP 4 into Compressor. I've then tried virtually all the settings to get the Video/Audio to fit onto my DVD.
I've resorted to MPEG-1 as it compresses small enough (with bad quality).
When I import this into DVD Studio Pro it says that there is a build error every time.
Does anyone know a proved method of achieving the above. It's seems fairly simple but I have a deadline and I just can't get it onto DVD.
    Any help would be appreciated,
    Thanks,
    Pete.

    Hi Pete
    you need mpeg2
You also have to do the sound seperately

  • Please help with Exporting from Final Cut for Youtube

Hey guys, your help would be greatly appreciated!
I shot a bunch of clips using 'ishowu' with the '640x480' option enabled... then imported them into Final Cut to make a movie.
My question is, now that the movie is done, what is the best way to export for youtube, using what dimensions? I tried to export using 1280x720 for youtubes widescreen, but it stretches out my whole video making everything look abnormally wide. How can I get the best video size but without it streching out my video?

    Export it using 640x480.
There is no point in making it larger because you cannot put in information that is not there originally.
640 x 480 is the optimum size. Make it any bigger and it will just appear degraded.

  • Please help me export my video

I've used Final Cut for a few years, I've never had this problem, But when I go to export my video, only 3 minutes out of 5 minutes gets exported!! I tried setting in and out points at the beginning and the end, I've tried taking the in and out points out. The Videos exports fine when I export it as a PAL, instead of NTSC,
but i need NTSC. I'm guessing I just have one of my settings wrong, but i'd appreciate any help I can get. Thanks

    Hi:
Export your PAL movie as Quicktime Movie, same settings (PAL) self contained. Then use that as source in Compressor and use the Advanced Standard Conversion presets, the DV NTSC one (I'm guessing your footage is DV!) and re-encode it.
If you want to get the best quality, check this thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1015451&tstart=15
It refers to NTSC to PAL conversion, but you can use the advices in the opposite direction too.
    Hope that helps !

  • Please help with exporting as .GIF (CS5)

I made some movie symbols out of sprites (inserting a new frame for each key)
then dragged each of the symbols into the scene 1, and when I press ctrl+enter it looks how I want it to look, but if i try to publish it as gif, or export it as gif, it just shows the first frame and is really bad quality. My publish settings are all correct and I even tried to export it as a quicktime .mov then importing it to photoshop to save for web (gif) but even then it just showed the first frame.
Any ideas? I've been stressing about this for days.

again, putting movieclip symbols on the main timeline will display the first frame of the movieclip in your animated gif.  you won't see the movieclip's other frames.  ie, the movieclip won't appear to animate.
you may be able to place an animated graphic on the main timeline, publish your gif and you may see your graphic's animation.  try it and see.
otherwise, all your tweens/animations will need to be on the main timeline with no nested animations.

  • Please help.  Exporting 37 minute movie and the video is stuck

I'm creating my annual year in review trivia contest for a party we're having this weekend. I've done lots of importing, editing, questions, sounds, etc. I exported the video using the "expert" settings, to apple TV. About 8 minutes into it, it locks up on a video clip (i.e. a still frame look) but the audio keeps going as it should. But the video just hangs.
I'm not sure if this is related, but I was downloading a bunch of stuff off youtube and it was saving in a .flv format. Early on I was converting these to another format to work with the programs. But then I found that the .flv format would import straight into imovie and I could see the clips and edit them just fine. Now I'm wondering if somehow these flv clips are causing a hiccup in the export process?
I've already edited everything so I'd really like to avoid re-importing these bad clips again. If I have to do that I'll probably throw in the towel as it will be too much work to duplicate.
Is there a way around this problem?
    Thanks much.

    Beverly,
Thanks much for the note. I think maybe you were responding to my other post about chapters rather than this post about the video sticking? Not sure.
Since making this post I experimented with deleting the video file that was the one getting "stuck" on the converted video. Since deleting that video, the movie will publish correctly. So I think I fixed that one. Must have had a corrupt file or something.
Since that other post about chapter markers I've imported the movie to IDVD, used IDVD to generate a DVD folder, then used handbrake to convert it. That seems to be working though I think there should be a quicker way to do this using only imovie HD.
Your idea is one I hadn't thought of....regardless of which problem you are addressing (this post about the video being stuck, or my other post about chapter markers), I'm not sure how this resolves either problem though. Sorry if I'm missing the obvious.

  • Please help! export problems

    Hi all,
Trying to export using Compressor as usual, to produce a file I'll upload to Youtube. This time around I used a USB drive as my scratch disk and I believe the project file is on the external drive as well.
it's become unworkably slow - it reports it'll take 80 hours (the project is about 5 mins. long). and in the dialog box where it counts frames, it's doing one frame roughly every 20 seconds (there are thousands of frames).
Exporting "normally" (as a quicktime movie, within FCP, not using compressor) appears to work, it's crunching now. I suppose I can convert the resulting file to something usable after the fact. I'm worried about the fact that compressor is suddenly choking, though.
Does anyone have any suggestions, or experiences trying to use a USB 2.0 drive?
    thanks! -Chris

Studio X, the drive is formatted as a mac drive.
I've figured out a workaround, I render out as an uncompressed quicktime file onto my main hard drive (so the file is on the same drive on which Compressor and FCP are installed) and then bring that file to Compressor as Tom suggested.. since normally FCP and Compressor work together but that is choking the system.
As long as it works, I guess! But looking at what it's doing, it says it'll take 60 hours :\
p.s. I thought of one other thing - I shot this video in 24P (fake 24, with pulldown mind you), will this affect render times?

  • Please Help - Audio Exporting-Only one channel

When I export the audio from Final Cut, I get only one channel of audio ( right side). This happens with all the AC3 and PCM audio settings.
All of the settings are correct in Final Cut. I have dual output audio on the meters and playback. I've also done a complete troubleshooting check on my playback system to make sure that everything is working properly. It is. I tunes plays everything back in stereo as does final Cut.
Any suggestions? I'm really behing the 8ball at this point.

  • Epic Slideshow...Please help.

I have combed the manuals, discussion logs etc. but am yet to find a simple answer to my questions. Maybe there are none. My grandparents both passed away in the last month. I am not only archiving my pictures but creating a slideshow using final cut pro 5.1.4. The pictures I have scanned are huge... a total of 180 years of life, hundreds of pictures, all scanned at 600 dpi because some where 2x2. Even then some pictures are 4000 x2800 and 20mb. I have resized them down to about 5mb or so. I have seemed to get rid of flicker and lag associated with such huge file. Still I am having a problem exporting......
There are so many audio/video settings it hard to know where to go. This will be watched by 50 family members and friends, most with HD widescreen Televsisons. When I watch it on my computer it looks exactly how i want it to. When i burn it to iDVD it starts having lag issues when doing mild pans and zooms....the transitions.. fade in fade out, typically...or cross dissolve look "framey" and low quality. In the days of research I've done I can't seem to find proper settings (yes even the manual) on how to set the codecs or whatever they are....It will primarily be watched on 16:9 widescreen I image....but anything from old 4:3 televisons to laptops too. What settings should I use?...Should I reduce all pics to minimal size? Why do my transitions look so low res...? If anyone has any insight, please help. I don't know the difference in 1080i50 or 1080i 60...I have heard NTSC is not the way to go for a slideshow.....please help. How should I resize, how should I export, what am I doing wrong? It looks great for the most part on my on MacBook Pro 2.5ghz 2g ram 15 inch laptop....why cant i get it to translate on the televison?
I know parts of this question(s) have been discussed and appreciate anytime in helping me grasp what I am missing. This is so very important to me...also Livetype was a disaster... looked liked graphics from a 1982 sci-fi movie...sigh....I have done this before with success, but not in about 5 years. I fear that technology has made my task more complicated...
    Thanks in advance,
    Tony

First, I'll assume you meant to post this question in the Final Cut Express or Final Cut Pro forum as your question doesn't seem to have anything to do with Final Cut Server. Which NLE are you using? The answers you seek may vary depending on which one you're using?

  • Exporting to QuickTime difficulties (PLEASE HELP)

I would like to start off by saying that Keynote 08 is an amazing presentation tool. I would like to convert the presentation that I have created and put it on a CD since all the transitions and the build in's and out's are set automatically. The presentation is currently set to a slide size of 1680 x 1050 and consist of 25 slides with about 17 them with full screen video playing. I have exported to QuickTime on numerous of times but for some reason or another it just doesn't export it with the full quality. Quicktime at times will get stuck as it is doing the presentation and it doesn't always follow the background music I have set. Sometimes it will finish before the song and sometimes the presentation will finish and the song will be interrupted by being cut short. When I export I'm currently using the manual advances and the Full Quality Large format. I only checked off the "include the slideshow soundtrack" option but like I said, the soundtrack doesn't completely always follow the presentation. PLEASE HELP! This is my company presentation and I have received a lot of positive feedback but I want to take it to the next level by making them in a DVD. Again, PLEASE HELP!

Had the same problems as Albert8119. My presentation had five slides of varying length, each with multiple builds, also of varying length. Had a music presentation in the background of the presentation, together with individual voice-overs to each slide. As a Keynote presentation it was fine; so much so that the client asked for both QT movie and iDVD copies on disk. Exporting to either proved to be an absurdly complex task (it should be easy!) as timing in builds and transitions went awry. Eventually, after much experimentation, I found that lengthening the builds (often by several seconds) resulted in excellent QT movie and IDVD. It is a pity that such an excellent presentation program (leaving Powerpoint for dead) should come up short at that point. Apple can do better than that. Next time I'll try King_Leo's solution.

  • I can't get garageband to export!  It keeps getting stuck at 'creating chapters' when I try to export my enhanced podcast.  Please help!

I am trying to export my enhanced podcast through garageband.  I have all the current updates.  I am on my MacBookPro 10.6.8 2.3GHz with 8GB ram.  My enhanced podcast (podcast with pictures) is about 80 mins long and I have tried exporting with everything from the lowest settings to the highest always with the same result.  I have tried deleting GB preferences.  I have tried repairing permissions to no avail.
I hit export to disk or send to itunes.
I select some AAC format I want (optimized for spoken podcast).
It slowly builds the mix, normalizes, and creates chapters (yeah, it goes through the creating chapters bar to completion)
Then it goes all candystripe on the creating chapters bar once it fills up and will hang forever (hung for 8 hours....pretty much sounds like 'forever' in my book).
Please help...I have my podcast sitting there waiting to be used....I have tried exporting smaller chunks (by moving the end of file bar) but that doesn't work either.  Is there a way to just send the pictures and the picture start times over to imovie and work with it there?  I'd much rather work with the tools that imovie has but man that program is just a PITA to use when you want to run through 100+ pictures for variable durations (whereas it's easy to just drag and drop with garageband as you do playback).
The file only has one stereo audio track!

Hi notmatthew, I have exactly the same problem as you. I am trying to export a podcast about iPod X Anniversary so I need to publish it next sunday.
It's midnight in Spain but tomorrow I will tray something I read in other post:

    Problem solved.
I deleted the chapters one by one, exporting it each time, until it worked. i then replaced the image (which was a .jpg and i converted to .png) with that chapter and now it works.
    Could you try it?

Make a smart playlist of your whole library but only checked songs - #4 on  http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1801
Highlight all files in that playlist, then drag to the other drive.  This isn't preserving any playlists or whatever, just copying files from one drive to another.
You might want to delete the smart playlist this once you are done because it will probably gobble up resources with that many files.
