Please Help! Small dot on my screen

There's a small dot/spot on my screen i thought it's a dust or soemthing but it looks like a small pixel dot. What is that? how can i get red of it?
Notice; am not using the glossy screen

Sounds like a stuck or dead pixel. Unfortunately, if this is the case, it is irrevocable, albeit minor, damage to the screen. Usually it is nothing you did or could have prevented; it just happens. If you se several, Apple might replace the screen, but they surely won't for one or two. Yes, I know it is annoying, but thats just one of the downsides to an LCD screen.

    Apple does not sell parts.
    Either get the entire device replaced under Out of Warranty exchange or take your chances with non-oem parts.

    hello please help me my MacBook Pro screen when desktop switching fingers pressing 3 distorts a bit, with him?

    First, remove Comodo. You don't need it, and it sounds like it is causing a problem.
    The other symptoms sound like you have adware installed. Comodo might have detected some components of that adware, or it might not have, but whatever the case, you should NEVER allow any anti-virus software to quarantine or delete files from your computer. See: How to remove infected files.
    Regarding the adware, see my Adware Removal Guide.

    please help me! any help will do! ANY!! ( if you are going to comment about restoring then please is there a way to stop it from deleting everything? because i have lots of important stuff on my imac)
    Thanks for any help in advance.

    Ok,
    Firstly, I reccomend starting your machine in Safe Boot, and seeing if it occurs again. You can do this by holding the shift key immediately as the machine starts up. If you notice that it never occurs in this mode, it is likely a temporary issue. You may like to backup, and then run a clean install of your OS. If the issue still occurs then follow the steps below.
    Repair disk permissions. Open disk utility app, select Macintosh HD, and then repair permissions.  Then go ahead and follow the following steps.
    Check peripheral devices first
    Skip this section if you have no peripheral devices.
    Power off your Mac.
    Disconnect all peripheral devices and Ethernet cables until all you have connected to your Mac is a display, keyboard, and mouse or trackpad.
    Power on your Mac and start from the external hard disk.
    Use the Apple applications on your external hard disk to surf the web, view QuickTime movies, email, print, scan, sync iOS devices, and other things. Continue using your Mac for the amount of time it would usually take for the kernel panic to occur.
    If the kernel panic does not occur: Power down your Mac and connect one peripheral at a time; repeat the above steps until you find the peripheral causing your kernel panic.
    If the kernel panic does occur: Proceed to check the internal RAM and third party hardware.
    Check internal RAM and third-party hardware
    Power off your Mac.
    Reseat your Apple RAM, and remove third party RAM and third-party hardware.  If you do not have the Apple RAM that came with your system, reseat the third-party RAM.
    Power on your Mac and start from the external hard disk.
    Use the Apple applications on your external hard disk to surf the web, view QuickTime movies, email, print, scan, sync iOS devices, and other things. Continue using your Mac for the amount of time it would usually take for the kernel panic to occur.
    If the kernel panic does not occur: Your third-party RAM or internal third-party hardware may need to be replaced.
    If a kernel panic does occur:  Bring your Mac to a Genius at an Apple Store, or an Apple Authorized Service Provider for service and support. Be sure to ask that, if the hard disk needs reformatting or replacing, they contact you about escalating your case to a special data recovery service. If you plan to visit an Apple Retail store, make a reservation at the Genius Bar using http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/ (available in some countries only).
    Software troubleshooting
    Reinstall Mac OS X v10.6 (or, for Mac OS X v10.5, perform an archive and install) on your internal hard disk.
    Start from the internal hard disk.
    Run Software Update.
    Install all updates until Software Update reports "Your software is up to date."
    Download and install any third-party software updates before reinstalling third-party software, especially drivers and kernel extensions.
    Examples include:
    Virtualization software – Parallels, VirtualBox and VMware
    Drivers for display cards – ATI and nVIDIA
    See if this helps, and get back to me,
    Nathan

  • PLEASE HELP!!! Black Screen with white curser at startup...

    at startup after grey screen fan turns on and screen turns black with a white curser in the upper left. Then one line of text shows saying something to do with single user mode failed with a bunch of other text. (sorry I didn't write it down) It then vanishes for a minute with just the white curser remaining and repeats.
    Ran hardware test... everything OK
    I have repaired permissions which took almost an hour of CD.
    I tried repairing disk failed " Invalid Key Length, volume check failed" twice.
    I am currently running os off external backup HD.
    I tried doing a archive and install but said I could not because the my os software(10.4.11) was newer than my original CD (10.4), is that correct?
    I do not know what to do? Please help!!!!

    You will need to reinstall OS X, but you cannot do an Archive and Install until you repair the drive. See the following:
    How to Perform an Archive and Install
    An Archive and Install will NOT erase your hard drive, but you must have sufficient free space for a second OS X installation which could be from 3-9 GBs depending upon the version of OS X and selected installation options. The free space requirement is over and above normal free space requirements which should be at least 6-10 GBs. Read all the linked references carefully before proceeding.
    1. Be sure to use Disk Utility first to repair the disk before performing the Archive and Install.
    Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
    Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported, then quit DU and return to the installer.
    2. Do not proceed with an Archive and Install if DU reports errors it cannot fix. In that case use Disk Warrior and/or TechTool Pro to repair the hard drive. If neither can repair the drive, then you will have to erase the drive and reinstall from scratch.
    3. Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When you reach the screen to select a destination drive click once on the destination drive then click on the Option button. Select the Archive and Install option. You have an option to preserve users and network preferences. Only select this option if you are sure you have no corrupted files in your user accounts. Otherwise leave this option unchecked. Click on the OK button and continue with the OS X Installation.
    4. Upon completion of the Archive and Install you will have a Previous System Folder in the root directory. You should retain the PSF until you are sure you do not need to manually transfer any items from the PSF to your newly installed system.
    5. After moving any items you want to keep from the PSF you should delete it. You can back it up if you prefer, but you must delete it from the hard drive.
    6. You can now download a Combo Updater directly from Apple's download site to update your new system to the desired version as well as install any security or other updates. You can also do this using Software Update.

  • Please help Excite 10 AT305-T16 screen not working

    Hello my Excite 10 AT305-T16 WAS stuck on the lock screen. I reset it to factory settings by holding the "+" and power button. I was sure that this would have resolved the issue with my tablet but it didn't. I am still unable to use the screen of my tablet. The only thing I can do is power it off, by holding the power button. I'm not sure what to do with it now. other than continue to power it on and off even though there hasn't been a change in what's happened. Please help, I would like to be able to use it again.
    P.S. I have never spilled anything on it, or dropped it.

    It sounds like you'll need to contact customer support and set up a repair.
    You can call (800) 457-7777.

  • Please help : small error

    I have this piece of code . I am getting error that
    use of loop variable 'i' is invalid.
    Please help
    CREATE OR REPLACE procedure A
    is
    v_commit_count number(10);
    v_wf_id number(8):= 20001;
    v_atlanta_operator number(8);
    cursor c1 is
    select * from customer_query_progress;
    type temp_c1 is table of customer_query_progress@slpmig1%rowtype
    index by binary_integer;
    t2 temp_c1;
    procedure do_bulk_insert is
    begin
    forall j in 1..t2.count
    insert into customer_query_progress@slpmig1 values t2(j);
    commit;
    t2.delete;
    k:=0;
    end do_bulk_insert;
    begin
    select value into v_commit_count from t2_system_parameter where name='batch_size';
    select value into v_atlanta_operator from t2_system_parameter where name='atlanta_operator';
    for i in c1 loop
    k:=K+1;
    t2(k).customer_query_id:=i.CUSTOMER_QUERY_ID;
    t2(k).last_modified:= i.LAST_MODIFIED;
    t2(k).PROGRESS_SEQNR := i.progress_seqnr;
    t2(k).OPEN_QUERY_IND_CODE:=i.OPEN_QUERY_IND_CODE;
    t2(k).WORK_FORCE_ID:=v_wf_id;
    t2(k).OPEN_DATE:=i.open_date;
    t2(k).RESPONSE_DUE_DATE:=i.RESPONSE_DUE_DATE;
    t2(k).PROGRESS_TEXT:=i.progress_text;
    t2(k).ACTION_DATE:=i.action_date;

    if mod(k,v_commit_count)=0 then
    do_bulk_insert;
    end if;
    end loop;
    do_bulk_insert;
    end;

    You have to declare and initialize k (to zero, I think):
    CREATE OR REPLACE procedure A
    is
    k pls_integer := 0;

  • Please help!! x100e blue screen issue

    Hey everyone,
    I'm new on here, trying to help out my sister who's in school and so far failing miserably!
    She has a x100e and developed the blue screen issue.
    I did a bunch of reading on it- but have never seen an error message.
    I formatted the hard drive for her (it needed it anyways) hoping that would help.  It didn't.  It also lost the wi-fi, I had to download a new driver from lenovo to get the wi-fi working again.  It is now working, but still has the blue screen.
    Any help?  I wanna give it back to her but proving to be useless.
    Thanks for any and all help!

    How will anyone help you w/o error message on the top of blue screen and problem signature description?

  • Please help - do I have a screen saver virus?

    I have my screen saver set to display pics from iPhoto. All of the sudden the pics are now becoming fuzzy and random foreign objects are showing up, covering and distorting the pics. How can this be fixed? Do I have a virus?
    Message was edited by: Kurko

    Hello, Leopard came with pictures installed for some reason or another. If they are coming up with iPhoto, in the screensaver mode, delete them. They will be found in your Pictures and All Documents folder, along with some music Apple so kindly gave us. In iPhoto you can chose the slide show and resolve this issue without deleting the "pictures." I don't think the previous poster was incorrect, just brief. "Completely impenetrable", wonder what Freud would think of this terminology. (Just kidding, don't get angry life's too short for all that) This is an answer, and I hope you take it with the good spirit in which it is intended. I post here to help, and try to add humor if applicable. The solution is in iPhoto, set up a slide show. Delete unnecessary photos if you like.
    Hope all is well,
    Ray

  • Please help with bypassing bootup selection screen. MB:MSI Z68A-GD80

    Hi Guys,
    I was wondering if you could help me bypass the boot-up selection choices screen and go directly into Windows.
    My MB is MSI Z68A-GD80.    I want to remote control this pc, but with the selection boot option screen keeps coming up after rebooting, it might not work.
    Is there a setting somewhere to disable this and go directly to Windows?  I tried different setting in the Setting menu, but not working.
    Thanks in advance!
    Rich

    Enter BIOS 'Settings', 'Boot', enter (red arrow) UEFI & disable, enter & either leave alone or disable as to preference (blue arrow), USB HardDisk set as desired, etc. Then, in the 'Boot Option Priorities' (white arrow pointing at 1 thru 8 boot list in this example), start at the bottom & disable as you go upward until you have only set for #2 as example, CD/DVD drive, & for #1 boot device, your OS HDD. Hit the 'F10' key & the 'Enter' key & it should be set correctly to what you want.

  • Please help: When running video software, screen goes crazy

    I am experiencing the following issue and have already taken my computer (under warranty) to the Genius Bar where they say nothing shows up as being wrong. They want to do further testing but I can't part with the laptop till the work week is over tomorrow night.
    In the meantime, does anyone have a clue?
    Here are videos of what's happening:
    http://s320.photobucket.com/albums/nn347/Rainbocarnage/?action=view&current=VID_ 20110616_155456.mp4
    http://s320.photobucket.com/albums/nn347/Rainbocarnage/?action=view&current=VID_ 20110616_115826.mp4
    I comes on gradually with an all over "blink" and flicker before it freezes up and goes crazy. This only happens, so far, when I use a program called CatDV which is a footage cataloguing software I need at work.
    Any ideas or suggestions? The genius bar did quick diagnostics and said everything passed and I updated all software/system updates already.

    The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:
    Restart... Reset... Restore from Backup...  Restore as New...
    Restart / Reset
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
    Backing up, Updating and Restoring
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
    If you try all these Steps and you still have issues... Then a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is the Next Step...
    Be sure to make an appointment first...

  • PSE 8 Editor will not launch-Please HELP!

    I purchased PSE 8 and installed it to my computer, which meets all system requirements.
    After everything was installed, I opened and Adobe ID account. When the welcome screen appears and I click on "Edit" the screen says "Launching Editor" for about 3 seconds, stops, and then nothing happens. I read the "Read Me" section that comes with the software and it mentions a problem with the Editor Launcher having trouble initializing. The instructions are to click "Edit" from the welcome screen, then click SHIFT+ALT+CTRL (or whatever order, I've tried everything) and then click "YES" for rebuilding editor launching preferences. Well, when I click "Edit" and SHIFT+ALT+CTRL, NOTHING happens!!!! I don't get any kind of response.
    I have unistalled, reinstalled... I am so frustrated. I have used PSE 3 in the past and have never had any trouble. I have already wasted 2 hours on this program and I haven't even used it!
    Please help me,
    MarieAntoinette1234  (And my screen name sucks!)

    Unfortunately, there are many reasons why the PSE Editor might crash, and often it is hard to diagnose quickly the reason for the crash.   Here are some steps you can take to try to fix the problem:
