Please Help - Syncing iPod

i had a 2GB ipod nano, used it for a month, then got a 4GB one free with my macbook, so i gave the 2GB one to my sister. she tried plugging it into her windows laptop, but it would only charge the ipod and wouldn't sync it to her itunes. how can she replace my old songs with her current ones?

i cant put any songs on my ipod nano,every time i try it comes up with the message 'THE IPOD'ADMINISTRTOR'S IPOD CANNOT BE SYNCED.THE REQUIRED DISK CANNOT BE FOUND'
What the do i have to do to get it working again?>
this is doin my head in,ive tried everything!!
i had loads of songs on there then they all got wiped off,now i cant get them back on again!

I've spent the last 3 nights on the phone with apple support trying to get past step 5 of 5 on iPod touch sync..,,I've given up support can't fix it what am I suppose to do? After all failed attempts the solution must be defective ipod I didn't think it was but I took it back got new one now it's doing same thing please please anyone please help me my old ipod works great as well as my iphone ipad I'm at wits end with this?? The only music I have is them ones is bought in iTunes my library gets to step 5 of 5 and won't finish them cancels sync

Please help, my Ipod is taking hours to sync!!

My Ipod never takes as long to sync. I plugged it in to the computer last night before I went to bed, I woke up in the morning to find it was on step one of three. So I tried again, and again and again. I even restarted my computer and tried again and it still took ages. I tried again at 12, it is now 5 and it's half way through step one! It syncs my sisters Ipod touch, the same generation as mine, in about a minute. I don't understand! Please help me I will be very grateful

Try moving the backup file to a safe location so that iTunes has to create an entire new file. It is located here:
iTunes places the backup files in the following places:
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: If you do not see the AppData or Application Data folders, you may need to show hidden files (Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7), or iTunes may not be installed in the default location. Show hidden files and then search the hard drive for the Backup directory.

Hello please any help, my ipod touch 2 generation doesn't want to sync with my computer, i check usb cable and all that, the other thing for some reason isn't charging the battery, only show the screen with low battery and flash back and fort from that screen to the blue with the white apple, please help what can i do?? thanks upfront for any advice...

ok. so i tried to turn on my ipod touch and when i pressed the button on the top and the little square one on the bottom it didnt work. it was just a black screen. i tried holding down each button (seperatly and together) but it still didnt work. so i thought maybe plugging my ipod into itunes would work. but when i plugged it into itunes the ipod didnt even come up in the side bar thing, like it usually does. and the screen was still black.

try putting your ipod touch into dfu mode by holding the sleep/wake button and home button for 10 seconds, then let go of the sleep/wake button (make sure it is connected to your computer) and continue to hold the home button for 10 to 15 seconds or until itunes reads it as an ipod touch in recovery mode that needs to be restored, if you need more help on this just go to youtube and type in dfu mode in the search field

i plugged my ipod touch into the computer so i could transfer my purchases and it said "backing up ipod" so i waited a while and it finally finished. then it said there was an error and the screen on my ipod looks like this:

So i ejected it and put it back in. then the computer would not recognize my ipod and the connect ipod to itunes screen will not go away. i'm not sure what to do! please help! i would really appreciate any help because i need my ipod tomorrow night. thank you all so much :]

Just to clarify, you have synched your iPod before, right? This has happened a few times with my touch, and I would just suggest restarting your computer and iPod (by holding down the hold button). Then try synching again. Hope it works!

ok so i have an ipod touch 2nd generation and i have had it for many years. A few months ago it would not turn on and kept telling me to connect to itunes but the problem is my itunes library is set up at my dads house and i live with my mom. so i tried connecting it to my laptop to see if it would turn on. well it asked me if i wanted to restore it and i was really tried and couldnt think what restored meant so i clicked yes! and it wiped out my entire library! i was in tears because i had had $50 worth of music and apps that werent backed up! so i sent my ipod to my dad and got everything sorted out. but last night i tried to turn my ipod on and it wouldnt turn on so i just plugged it in to charge and left it. i came back to see if it was done and it wouldnt turn on and it told me to connect to the itunes store. i probably have about $50 worth of music that is not backedup this time! omg i want to cry! i am smart enough to not pulg in into my laptop because i know what restore means now! and i have tried holding the buttons down and everything and i let it charge all day! what do i do! please please help me! if i send it to my dads will all of my music that is not backed up sync into my library? or will i lose it all?!?! please please help me!! Ok so I plug ipod in and open itunes and like nothing happend I go to file: sync ipod but it dont let me click it it and almost everything else under file in grey and unclickable. I have had my ipod for haha since like last octoboer or around there and have never been able to use my ipod correctly I had it for MANY month without ever even using it because I couldnt get music or anything on there until anapod and thats only trial version so what do I do? that whole 5 r crap is lame and dont work I've tried and tried to reinstall itunes and ipod but never works im not sure why if I got my SN mixed up with "ZEROS" and "o"'s im not sure but when I got my ipod I plugged it in before installing could this have anything to do with it?

Anyhow my problem is with my 5th generation 30gb ipod which I have exchanged it with a harmonica lol from my friend Anna . this ipod used to work from a month from now,
this girl has a Philips stereo which usually causes such problems to the ipods you connect them in it, and this ipod was connected in it and had the problem.I have looked all over the internet for any solution but didn't help , please would you help me ??
anyway the ipod's problem is as follows :
the cable I use is the one which came with my other 5th generation 8GB nano ipod , and everything works great with it , but when I connect my new ipod to my pc it says USB Device Not recognized and it doesn't even charge , only at the begening the ipod shows me the logo of charging for seconds and then it goes away
and I even tried connecting it to different Computers with different Operation Systems it showed me the same...
I even tried the disk mode and it didn't help nothing showed up
I noticed that when I connect it to a transformer ( My camera samsung wall charger with usb output of which 5 volts 550 mA " which wouldn't be much different
than the computer usb output values) so when I connect the new ipod with this wall charger it didn't charge at first but when I restarted the ipod it was charged from the charge .
then after alot of hard work ! I figured out something that when I put it to disk mode and then restart it while its hooked in the computer it charges from the pc
but still not recognized.
I use windows so it shows Unkown Device in the device manager.
I didn't try recovery mode because I didn't know how to do that.
please help me please !!! the one who helps will have a very hug prize I swear !

Similar think happened to me. I had the Ipod (60gig) for about 24 hours and it completely crashed. The battery appeared to have drained in about 30 minutes resulting in a complete shut down. Nothing worked (called and talked to tech support) and I ended up having to send it back for replacement. When it status shows “shipped” it means that the box to return the defective item has shipped to you. You will need to return it to Apple and once they receive it back they will ship you a new one. The good thing is they the turn around is extremely fast.

Please help ! - iPOD 20GB Wont Start OR Update OR Format.

When i try to turn my iPOD 20gb on it comes up with a folder and a exclamation mark with a link, then shuts straight back down. i have downloaded latest software and when i try ti use it i can only RESTORE. When i try to RESTORE the bar does not fill up. then an error message comes up saying cannot mount iPOD.
I do not have the option to update.
Please please help.

If your iPod shows up in Explorer under 'my computer' try changing the drive letter:
-- Click on Start=>Control Panel=>Admin Tools=>Computer Management=>Disk Management
-- Right-Click on the iPod and select “change drive letter”
-- Choose something further along in the alphabet that is unused (Usually, “M”, “N”, “O” or something similar)
-- Safely eject the iPod
-- Reboot the PC

My screen on my ipod does not work any more.
I have tried restoring/updating it.....everything!!
problem is this is my second due to a faulty battery on the first which apple exchanged free of charge for me so I ma not sure if I am entitled to another ipod or what!!!

If you truly have tried resetting/restoring, then it's time for service. Is it still under warranty, because if so, it won't matter that you have had one exchange already?
