Please help - table shift down on FF & Safari
Please help with my tables. Im using GL CS2 8.0.1
Objective: Would like my tables (e-commerce site) roughly 5px apart from one another.
Problem: On Firefox & Safari (MAC) there is a huge space between the cards in the browser. What is wrong with my code?
Link to test page: www.larchmontblvd.com/test.html
Thanks
Jesse
Maybe I need to be more specific...
If you look at the page, I've labeled my product cards "Title Card 1" & "Title Card 2". The problem is the spacing between Card 1 and Card 2 is different on Firefox and Safari. My goal is to have a 5 px space between the two cards.
Thanks,
Jesse

Please help - simple drop down box
i am very new to this - i have just opened the app for the first time - i have to create this form by tomorrow!!
I have a simple list in access - it contains 15 fields in the table - very simple. I need EVERY drop down box on the page to ref. this table to populate the list - which changes on a daily basis. There will be a total of 35 drop down boxes on the form - all pointing to the exact same CHANGING list.
PLEASE HELP!!!You can enter the sales tax rate for each province as the export value and
then use the drop-down field directly in your calculations.

PLEASE HELP - COLOR SHIFTING PROBLEM on output NTSC monitors
http://www.smmlv.com/testproject/
Above is a link to a layered photoshop file that has a USA map and over a dozen network overlays used in a section of our video. I animate each layer on sepeartely in the video and have noticed a major problem recently, the color of the art does not hold true to placement. I created the art originally in Illustrator and then converted the file to Photoshop at 640x480, 72dpi. This has always worked perfectly in the past to display and animated artwork in FCP.
Right now, in FCP I am using the NTSC DV 3:2 frame size, and the compressor of DV/DVCPRO - NTSC. I have a JVC Profressional DV deck that hooks up through firewire and sends S-Video to my monitors. This setup has always given me a great picture even though it is not completely upcompressed. Using these settings and this art, the color lines on this map in red, light blue, yellow and purple all have a "color shift" to the left about 5 pixels. It makes it appear that the line is where it is in the file, but the color overlaying the line is offset to the left 5 pixels and transperant to about 50%. This occurs only when viewed on some TV's and NTSC monitors and projectors. The strange thing is, some monitors display the color aligned almost perfectly on these maps and other monitors and projectors show this "digital halo" of color shifting really bad. If I take the layered network overlays in these colors and color tint them to black or grey, white, light green, or even light orange, they no longer have the color shifting and the detail is perfect.
Is there any way to fix this problem? I have tried duplicating the sequence and setting the compressor to 8bit Uncompressed, and while my captured footage is not this compression, in theory the art should render at this higher resolution setting. This did nothing to solve the problem.
I also have tried using different Broadcast safe and Y/C corrector filters with different results. The Y/C filter allowed me to reposition the color problem and thus removing most of the problem, but also removing most of the color. Nothing else has allowed me to seemingly move the color into the proper possition.
What is causing this color shift on the displayed NTSC image?
In FCP 4.5 I can see my rendered video in the program viewer screen and besides the pixel compression appearing on the lines, overall the video looks great paused or even better when playing. Then you view it through my deck onto my Pro Sony NTSC 19" color monitor and it also appears great, with a slight color halo to the left of these colors, but the color in the lines are there. If you are a few feet from the screen and know what you are looking for you might see it, but doubtful. Then you view it using the same signal on a 17" Samsung TV and the color shifting makes the map and other art, like the clients blue logo, look horrible, with each color line appearing twice and offset left from each other as if you had double vision. Normally I would think it is the TV causing this, but then we tested this same movie on 2 differnt projectors. The $700 Epson projector displayed everything beautifully, again with only the slightest color halo to the left, but then the Panasonic $4000 projector made everthing in these colors look double vision again. What is going on???
One more thing to keep in mind, my color bars also show this problem with these colors as well as shot footage of these facilities. There are tall red poles in the shots and everything displays fine except for the red pole color looks like it's glowing off the pole to the left.
PLEASE tell me there is a solution to this.I have tried Degaussing, using filters, changing cables, and testing other monitors and systems on these monitors, everthing I can think of to solve the issue. Is it FCPo or is it the monitors?... or is it a signal strength thing. Can monitors and projectors shift color when the signal is read from a DVD or Mini DV Deck? Is there a fequency difference (Ie: 75mgz or 80 mgz) that might be causing the shift in some monitors and not so badly in others. But if this was true, how would some DVD's (like Baby Einstein DVDs that use really bright colors) display red and blue perfect using these same player and monitor, while my projects is shifting color? Doesn't that rule out the signal from the DVD player if other DVD's do not have this issue?
I have uploaded the original art used, an exported .jpg file from the FCP timeline and sample photos of 2 different monitors to show to show this problem as best I can. http://www.smmlv.com/testproject/
Someone out there must have had this problem before. There's no way a color shift problem like this with Mini DV has gone on this long without someone seeing it.
One last thing about what I have tried... I do understand that with editing in Mini DV instead of uncompressed or HD video I lose a bit of resolution (4:2:2) and I see this compression occuring in some of the areas in the video where these problems persist. But, I did remake the art and rerender this project in an 8bit uncompressed settings and then displayed that up on the screen and I get the same color shift. I keep going in circles trying to find the culprit that is causing the delema.
PLEASE HELP! There are large tours going through our facilities daily and the large screen projector is displaying this problem as well. Let's just hope they don't notice and that their TV's at home or office does not display it on our final DVD's made. -
Please help: programs shut down after 60 sec's
*Please help me:* Since two weeks or so (may be, after I updated my QuickTime), every program I opened *shuts down after roughly 60 seconds*. It is not closed but it gets out of the writing mode so that I need to click on the page first before being able to continue writing again (Word, email, also this thread). If I do not always look at my page I loose words and have to retype them again. Also, with backspacing it occurs: it gets out of the enter mode. I am not aware I changed anything in the user mode of my dear power book.
Thank you for helping! rororogerrororoger:

Vertically-aligned tables shift down when entering/editing text within the table.
Hi all,
We have a sudden problem that is occurring, and I've done a lot of searching without finding anything close to this happening elsewhere.
If there is ever a table that is aligned vertically within a text frame, you cannot edit the text without having it shift down one line break for every letter you type, until it's bottom-aligned within the frame. You can then click "align center", and it will re-align itself. Then, if/when you need to change even one letter again inside the table, it will shift down one line.
We've tested it with two different docs on both Mac and PC, with the same problem. I've cleared my prefs on the Mac to see if that would make a difference, and it hasn't done anything.
Any thoughts here? I can't recall anything that would have changed since this started happening, but it won't leave us alone now!
Thanks!!Very interesting. I do lots of tables but don't vertically justify so I have never run into this. However I can confirm this behavior on a new clean test page I made, using InDesign CS5 (7.0.3) on Mac OS 10.6.6. I have no other problems with InDesign; it is running flawlessly. And no weird plug-ins or system hack software.
My test file uses my default font (Adobe Minion Pro) and the default table (Insert > Table).
It also shifts down when I delete a character in a cell. And the shift for me is more than one carriage return. I can get it back to center-aligned by top aligning and then choosing center align again. -
Please Help Me Slow Down My Compter
Lately my laptop appears to have become over-sensitive and reactive to my slightest move, particularly when I most need it not to.
My system is an HP G62 Notebook PC (G62-225NR), Pentium Dual-Core CPU (T4500) running at 2.30 GHz, 8 GB RAM, 64-bit Windows 7 OS.
My complaints are:
Single mouse clicks become double, triple, or even quadruple clicks.
I have tried going into Control Panel > Mouse > Double Click Speed and repeatedly changed the slider from fastest to slowest and vice versa without satisfaction.
One must click on a check box many, many times before my on or off choice will finally stick.
When trying to simply move a window by dragging it to a new location the window will suddenly jump up to take up the entire screen, even when I don't want it to.
And, when I make a selection of text using my mouse (as in preparation to move, copy, or cut it) the selection immediately goes away the instant I raise my finger off the left button and is lost. It is NOT copied to the clipboard. In order get get a selection of text to be copied to the clipboard I must hold down an arrow key with one finger while holding down a shift key to make the selection again.
These problems are driving me nuts. What can I do to better bring my computer under control?Hi Tim,
This issue can be caused by the Touchpad sensitivity,
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=110&prodSeriesId=...
Adjust touch sensitivity of touchpad using the above link that should help you fix the issue, and also check the
drag option to resolve the second issue.
The above link will help you how to adjust the sensitivity of the touchpad. its only for reference.
if it does not work even after adjusting the sensitivity. you may try reinstalling the driver for the touchpad.

Table shifting to right in Safari
Greetings,
Not sure if this is the right place to post this or not. Kind
of a newbie here so forgive my ignorance. I appreciate any help or
guidance.
I am working on a site in Dreamweaver CS4 and it is looking
close to what I want in Firefox and IE but when I try to view it in
Safari the entire table under the header shifts way to the right.
It is completely off the screen? I am guessing there is some script
or somewhere I messed up the CSS or html.
Here is a link
http://www.oceanside-condo.com/new/home.html
Do you want me to attach the entire code?
Thank you for any help or advice with this, I really
appreciate it!dobdub007 posted in macromedia.dreamweaver

OK, I took a closer look. There is a way to horse the code to
get
closer, but it will be a continuous battle with that code.
Sorry I
didn't catch that sooner.
It looks as if the html was created by an image editing
program like
Photoshop or FireWorks. If so, you really should not use HTML
created
by graphics software for anything other than prototyping.
Tables with all those rowspans and colspans are very fragile.
Watch
what happens to your page if you enlarge the text size in a
browser.
Rather than fight with such code, I recommend creating the
page anew,
using DW to write the HTML and using just the images exported
from the
graphics program. I refer you to a couple of links posted in
here
nearly every day to help with this situation:

Please Help: Automator to get text from Safari Reader into Text file
Hello All,
I was hoping that someone will be able to help me.
I would like for automator to obtain article text from a website without me having to manually cut and paste it.
I tried to put together a workflow to get text from webpage, but it unfortunatley get some information that I don't want for eg. Menu Bar Titles and additional links etc. What would be ideal is if I could only extract the data that shows when I use the Safari Reader function. I have tried a jave Readability Script, but this also extract the same information. Is there anyway someone could please kindly help me out with a nice Applescript or something?
If there is no way to do this, there could be another solution around this... if there was a way I could use automator to delete the first and last 10 lines of the text document.
Again, any help will be much appreciated.
Many thanks,
VicandMeliJvRHi David,
Thank you for your feedback. I would be happy to use a screen capture program, but Quicktime X seems to only allow me to record audio and record the video separately. I will do this as a last resort, but it's a big pain to try to line up the video audio.
Thank you! I will definitely do this if nothing else works. -
I am a newb to the mac...please help me with a problem in safari
Let me start by telling you how much I love my imac ! OK, on to the issue....
Recently i tried to watch a video and was told that I needed to download a "windows mp patch" for the video to download properly....Well, short story is that I did (I know, I know).....Now, anytime I go back to youtube or myspace or somewhere with videos, I click on a link and my browser (safari) is automatically re-directing me to "adult" sites....YIKES !! I have tried to remove anything that was downloaded that evening, reset safari, and performed multiple re-starts...I'm at a loss what to do.....I thought I was done with "Windows" like behaviour out of my pc....Please someone help !!
Thanks in advance !Hi,
Have a read of [this article|http://www.macworld.com/article/60823/2007/10/trojanhorse.html] - be careful what software you supply your admin password to... -

ii wrote this with some help a while ago but i havent done java at all since so im totaly clueless again. if someone could help i would be really greatful, thanks.ok chill man, and i wasnt asking you to do it for me or nothign liek that.
its mostly these parts im having trouble explaining
Scanner scan = new Scanner(System.in); //receive input from keyboard
System.out.print("Enter the number of times you would like to toss two dice: "); //prompt user for input
int timesToToss = scan.nextInt(); //read in user input
die1 = (int) (Math.random()*6+1); //assign random number (1 through 6) to dice one

System.out.print(diceSum[i]+ "\t"); //for each cell in a row, print its value
if(i%6 == 0) //if at the end of a row
System.out.println(); //go down a linei know in the last one there the "if(i%6 == 1) " and "if(i%6 == 0) " effect the
"System.out.print(i/6+1 + "\t|");" in some way, but i dont really know how to explain it.

Please help - applications shutting down randomly
Evening everyone,
I've used macs for a few years now and am in the process of moving my mum from the crappy family PC over to my old iMac G5, which is just over 3 years old. The G5 is staying at home so mum can use it and I'm going back to uni on Tuesday with my MacBook.
I've set mum up with a new user account, her iPhoto library is on the computer but the iTunes library and a load of backup stuff is on a Western Digital My Book Home edition external hard drive as there's not enough room on the G5. Just as I was starting to show mum how to use the mac (at times a painful process - she's not the best at learning new computer things) the G5 went and showed me up. It's being pretty slow at opening applications and loading photos in iPhoto and it is also quitting applications without any notice or obvious cause.
The problem seems to be only in mum's user account which confuses me as it's pretty much pristine. I've scanned it with ClamxAV for viruses and found none and am in the process of scanning the external HD. One weird thing is that sometimes (but not all) after an app has shut itself down unannounced a finder window will open at a specific folder on the WD Hard Drive. It's a random photo file, originally I had mum's iPhoto library on the external drive but have sinced freed plenty of space for it on the G5 hard drive as I feel its more reliable, but there are still copies of all the photos on the hard drive. I really cant see why it sometimes links back to this one though.
Sorry, I know this is a really long post but thought I'd try and give as much info as possible - I need to get this sorted before I go back to uni on Tuesday otherwise mum won't be able to use the computer and I'm not back again until Christmas! I'd really appreciate your help and any ideas/suggestions you guys could offer. These forums have always been very useful for troubleshooting in the past, just hope my first post can work out as well! The following may help:

Please Help Me Track Down 64bit Drivers (GX620)
I must be the dumbest user now that I've registered. I cannot find the 64 bit drivers for my GX620 anywhere! I did find them on some other website but the dates of the posted drivers were from 2008. I'd really like a solid link to the driver download site. Some of the link posted in this forum actually just led me to the "Choose Your Region" page.
I searched the forums as well and did not come across any links or posts that were helpful to me. Am I just really dense?! Please, any help would be greatly appreciated!
My model is the GX620-001US
