Please help!! The sound just went silent!!

Sunday afternoon I unplugged my headset to go and playing drums in our garage. When I came back and plugged my headset again but the sound didn't work!! The computer had been on the whole time and no one had touched it and I listened to mp3 before went out. First I thought that I had plugged it in the wrong hole or that the volym had been set down but it hadn't. I have tried almost everything, reinstalled the drivers, flashed the bios (of course I have checked if the audio is enabled in the bios), I have even reinstalled windows!!. I hope anyone can help me I'm really confused!!
I'm sorry about my bad English.

Is the headset working? Any other listening device you can plug in like speakers to verify that the audio is not working?

Yes. Check the headset with another device or try a speaker on the PC. Make sure that you plug the headset to the green colour port on the sound card. I have seen people accidently pluging the headset into the modem .
Yes, I have tested another speakers, I have also tested the headset in our TV and  it's working fine.
For the first I dont have a modem, for the second the first thing I checked was if I had plugged in it in the right port.
