Please help! urgent printer problem.
I was using my printer in the mourning, and i got a paper jam. so i removed the paper, however after that nothing else wuld print. i just shut it off because i had to go to school. when i came home i tried various options, but it still had a jam. i removed and replaced the ink cartridges, i made cure the carriage could slide back and forth, i shut the printer on and off. However, the yellow light, and power button continue to blink on and off. when i attempt to print, it slowly takes a paper up, but it doesnt even print on it. and then it just spits it out. My printer is an HP officejet pro 8000 wireless. plz help
Hope that you have better luck than I have had, I just got told that I can pay more than I originally paid for my printer to have something fixed that is HP issue. But since I did not get to them within the year, even though I tried and tried to get them to help I am out of luck.
But what it sounds like is that you have a piece of paper stuck in one of the sensor areas that is causing the printer not to function properly. Take out your paper, and open the back and insure that there is not a small piece of paper not stuck in there somewhere that is causing your issue

Please help with Printer problem on MBP
I am running 10.5.1 and am trying to install the software to enable me to scan. I have tried from the original CD, but it doesn't work (i assume this is because it was meant for 10.4). I have also tried downloading from the website but the download always says something like "19mb out of ?" and then eventually the downloads errors out.
Is there any way i can get the scanner to work? can anyone upload this software to me? I know its a lot to ask but im not sure what to do.Don't know what to tell you, but I downloaded the file without any problem. Do you have enough space on your drive for the file? You may have a problem on your drive so you might consider doing the following:
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger and Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now shutdown the computer for a couple of minutes and then restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger and Leopard) and/or TechTool Pro (4.6.1 for Leopard) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X. -
Please help, URGENT, socket problem
my program got a server socket for listening for connection
Socket socket = serverSocket.accept()
after the remote client has close the connection,
the socket on my server program cannot detect the connection closed.
When i call socket.isClosed or isConnected, they return false and true respectively,
also there is no IOException being thrown when I use available() ,
what are the possible methods to detect a connection closed by the remote side?

Anyway.. as you've discovered none of those methods are of any use in discovering if the client closed the connection (or it was otherwise aborted/interrupted).
Generally speaking in a protocol there is an agreed upon time/situations where you disconnect. Otherwise the way to detect the socket has been closed is when you catch the exception when you attempt to read from or write to the socket.
So yslee4 if you want to see if a client is still alive you could build some sort of echo message into your proctocol. And I have no idea what the other poster is on about. -

If I try to use another Java package to compile it I get even more errors (52), I cannot compile it by using the Javac command line compiler, it just says �Bad command or file name�.
Can anyone tell me Why this is happening and how I might be able to fix it please, I need to start learning Java Mail quickly but at the moment I can�t even begin to do this until I can understand how to get this sample code to work.

Secondly... think for a second. If mail.jar is in C:\jdk1.3.1\lib\javamail-1_2[1]... why are you with your classpath saying that mail.jar is in C:\jdk1.3.1\lib ?
You classpath is supposed to point directly at you jar-files.

Here is the description :
-I created a UML model with Papyrus tool and I applied MARTE profile to this UML model.
-Then, I applied <<PaStep>> stereotype to an AcceptEventAction ( which is one of the element that I created in this model ), and set the extOpDemand property of the stereotype to 2.7 with Papyrus.
-Now In the ETL file, I can find the stereotype property of extOpDemand as follows :
s.attribute.selectOne(a|a.name="extOpDemand") , where s is a variable of type Stereotype.
-However I can't access the value 2.7 of the extOpDemand attribute of the <<PaStep>> Stereotype. How do I do that ?

1-Run the uml2etl.etl transformation with the supplied launch configuration.
2-Open lqn.model.
There are two folders inside MinimalExample folder, the one which is called MinimalExample has 4 files, model.uml , lqn.model, uml2lqn.etl and MinimalExampleTransformation.launch.
The other folder which is LQN has four files. (.project),LQN.emf,LQN.ecore and untitled.model which is an example model conforming to the LQN metamodel to see how the model looks like.

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
