Please help...Very confused and Frustrated
I just built a new system using the Neo2 LS mother board, P4 2.8ghz, Raddeon 9600 Pro, 1Gb Ram. Anyway i took my 2 hard drives from my old system (40gb WD and 40GB Quantum Fireball Lct20)I left the jumpers as they were in the old system placed them in the new system. When i boot up everythingworks fine with the exception of my secondary HD(quantum) is not assigned a Drive Letter. Device Manager shows it, my Bios shows it but yet i cannot access it and I really Have important Data that i need off of it. I have tried changing the Jumpers around using the Master/Slave approach, as well as putting both to Cable Select. I have tried changing my Eide cable using the same cable that was in my old system still no luck. I am at my wits end any help on this matter will be appreciated.
O.S. is Windows XP Home Edition
Have you tried to change the hard drive mode from AUTODETECT in the BIOS to something else like an old legacy mode/PIO to get the drive to load so you can grab your data off it?

Here is my complaint:
1.I have been saving for weeks trying to buy this flat screen TV: the price has been $299.99

Then finally this Tuesday I went there to buy, I checked the online price, it jumped to $329.99. I do have a mover coupon which is good for 10% off a single item. So I used, but I will have been really happy if I could have used it when the price is $299.99 instead. This mover coupon said any single item with some exclusions and I believe this Westinghouse 48" is not in the exclusion list.
After I bought Tuesday, I checked the price online today, man, it went back to $299.99. Your price mathcing policy said if the price lowered within the return period, we could get the difference back. Then I went back to the Best Buy at Fairlawn, Ohio (Montrose) location where I bought my TV. But they refuse to return the difference saying I used that coupon.
But key issue here is not using the coupon. That coupon DOES NOT SAY anything about not using on a sale item at all!!!!!
If I return the TV today and they give me back that coupon, I would have been able to buy this one again at $299.99 AND using that coupon again! So It is very UNFAIR they are doing that.
Very disappointed and frustrated. Please help me to get this issue straightened out!! I follow all the rules, but that store clerk did not seem to understand that coupon is good for on sale items too and that TV is not on the exclusion list so they should follow the price matching promise and issue me the credit!!!!!!here is the detail of this mover coupon:

I found the operating system very confusing and hard to use. No tutorial. Manual and online help were outdated. Tool bars, programs and documents randomly appeared and disappeared. Programs I installed completely disappeared. Anyone else experience this?
No need to apologize, Jim. I think your rant was justified. For years people have been telling me how easy the Mac was to use. Imagine my frustration when I finally learned from friends and users that it takes weeks or months to make the transition from Windows to Mac.
Still, I agree that I acted to too hastily when I returned my mini-mac to the store only three days after I bought it.
I'm going to try again, this time with an iMac. This time I'll keep it. Since this thread is for the mini-Mac only, I'll probably be starting a new one for the iMac.
Why did I decide to try again? Well, I do like the faster speed and compact hardware of the Macs. I also like the fact that I can install Windows and use that for my programs until I transition completely to Mac, IF I make the complete transition.

hi.
i purchased an 80g ipod last week so i could put my massive selection of cds on to it.
this is where the confusion starts.
my laptop doesnt have the massive memory of the ipod.
it got to a set amount of transfering, then it said it couldnt transfer anymore due to my laptop memory and disc space was full.
ive done all i can to free up space , but its never enough.
does that mean i cant transfer ALL my cds because my laptop isnt big enough??
do i need to buy a new laptop with a bigger memory and disc space so i can transfer my cds?? which i cant afford to do.
have got my settings wrong ??

p.s. im know nothing at all about computers, so please use little words to explain . thanks allYou can delete songs from your iTunes/computer hard drive after transferring them to the iPod, and for this you need to set your iPod to manage the iPod content manually.
However, storing music on your iPod and nowhere else is an extremely risky option because when (and not if) there comes a time to restore your iPod, which is a very common fix for iPod problems, then all the music would be erased. If you no longer have the music in iTunes (or any other back up), then all that music would be lost.
At the very least back up your music to either cd or dvd before deleting it, particularly any purchased music/videos, as this would have to be bought again if it were lost. See this about backing up media.

What if the iPod were lost/stolen/needed repair? Again, the music would lost. I strongly recommend a back up, and if computer hard drive space is in short supply, you should seriously consider an external hard drive. They are not expensive, and the cost is well worth it when compared to the loss of all your precious music.
The iPod is not reliable enough to use it as a long term storage device, and these forums are littered with posts from people who decided to use it as such and ended up losing all their music. -
Can't find a playlist I created on my playlist or computer? I didn't delete it. I don't want to create it again because it took a long time. please help me find and recover.
Playlists only exist as part of the larger iTunes library listing so if you are not seeing it there it doesn't exist anywhere else. I know with my older version of iTunes it is very easy to accidentally delete a playlist. With newer versions it may be possible to recover it with the undo feature in the menu but this likely will only work immediately after the deletion.

Bueno los pasos son:
2. Select Go from the Finder Menu.
3. Select Computer.
4. Select Macintosh HD.
5. Select Users.
6. Select your user profile.
7. Right click on user profile. Select Get Info.
8. Go to bottom and unlock with admin password to make changes.
9. Make sure your user profile has Read and Write privileges by selecting from dropdown menu.
10. Go down to wheel at very bottom and select Apply to enclosed items. This should allow Adobe Bridge to run properly.

Very weird and frustrating problem.
I have a 160gb classic and I went to plug it in earlier and nothing happens, it didn't show up in itunes. I clicked my computer and under devices with removable storage its there, but just called removable disk (F: )) and I click on it and nothing is in there!
And so I unplug and plug my iPod back in again, and on the ipod screen it says that it is connected, and before I get the chance to do anything (it still doesn't show up in itunes) It says that its ejecting! And then it acts asif it isn't plugged in - I get the menu on the ipod screen.
And then in itunes it says my ipod might be corrupt and that I should restore.(the ipod still acts asif its not plugged in/connected) And the picture of the ipod is white.
So I click restore, and then it says it couldnt be restored, an unkown error occurred!
I've tried reinstalling itunes, holding down menu and select and everything.
I don't know what is going on, but can anyone help me??

EDIT: Ok, I just got it working on my brothers pc and I restored it. Then I plugged it into my pc and it still connects then says its ejecting (iTunes still isn't picking it up either) I'm thinking it must be something wrong with my pc.
But someone please help, this is horribly frustrating.
ThanksI would 1st return it for a 100% refund. Now purchase an identical unit. This keeps your options open at least for the next 14 days (depending on the stores return policy).
I bought an ipod classic 160gb and its cord was hypersensitive to slight movement. I plugged it in, it said "connecting" then it suddenly didn't connect and said "ejecting". I couldn't safely disconnect and had to just yank out the cord. This froze up the ipod and I had to reset it in order to get the ipod to fire back up (which I understand you've already tried).
This is why I say return it and rule out the possibility of it being bunk junk. -
Please help, I'm extremely frustrated. ipod is stuck in recovery mode. Connected to different computer to restore and after 75 minutes of downloading get a message that there was a Problem downloading, network connection timed out. Cannot get past "connect to itunes" on ipod.
Disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall during the download and update usually resolves that error.

3rd time trying to download additional content for mainstage....takes 15-20 hours each time...then asks for my password/id for permission...starts installing and about 1/4 of the way..it dissapears and nothing is installed....confused and frustrated..:-(
