Please help with text boxes

Can somebody help me wit hmy problem. I have a fom with many tables in it, some cells of the table are text boxes or at least they were when I developed it. Now I need to edit some of the cells and for some reason I cannot do it as the cell is not a text box but became (untitled<draw>) I cannot change its type back to text. Can some one advise what to do whitouh retyping text again in the new cell.

I have a preference for Javascript (just get in the syntax zone) and use it for most things (except dates).
As you know:
this = current object
rawValue = accesses the value of object
From an Excel point of view FormCalc is similar and has inbuilt function like sum(), Max(), etc. Syntax is $ for current object and you don't need the rawValue. This is very handy when summing a column in a repeating table. Also FormCalc is excellent for working with time and dates. (not that you can't work around in Javascript, but it is heavier).
Adobe have a very good reference for FormCalc at http://www.adobe.com/go/learn_lc_formCalc_82 and I would recommend that to you. I think it comes from the LC help file, but is easier to use.
From a performance point of view, you can either have FormCalc in the calculate event of an object, which looks back at other fields (this will fire each time one of these fields changes). Alternatively you can have the FormCalc in the exit event of a field, which pushes a calculation/value forward to another object.
Functions are handy if you have a script that you are using several times in a form. You write the script in a "script variable" and then call it in the objects events. HOWEVER, script variables are available in Javascript only.
One last thing is that if you have a constant (like VAT), then rather than including "* 0.21" in all of your calculations, use a global variable in the Form / Properties / Variables tab. currentVat = 0.21. Then in your calculations would be "* currentVat.value". If the VAT rate changes then you only have to change it in one location.
In summary FormCalc is more akin to Excel; just watch the syntax.

I see the ^M on the end of the lines ... but i dont understand why im getting the blank lines
in between each entry ... I printed "HHHH" just to help with debugging ... anyone have any ideas why i am getting the extra blank lines?

maybe its a FileReader deal.. Im not sure, maybe try using InputStreams. This code works for me (it reads from data.txt), give it a try and see if it works:

PLEASE HELP anchored text boxes corrupted CS5

I have a book I've been working on for some time that is close to final. It has anchored text boxes in the sidebar that flow with the text and is being edited in an IC assignment environment. I made semi-final edits to it yesterday and exported a PDF, but when I started scrolling through the pages, I noticed that whole pages of the content were blank. The stories were still flowing as if there was text on the blank pages, but there were no text boxes to select and it was intermitten through the whole document. Thinking the layout file was corrupt, I exported to IDML and opened that. It recovered almost identical to the other file and now all the anchored text boxes are completely locked. I can no longer select them to edit the text or move them. I tried unlinking the IC stories, still locked. I tried going back to a version of the ID file from before I made the edits--figuring the edits would be preserved in the stories and I could just reedit the layout, but while I've managed to recover the pages of content that had gone blank, my anchored text boxes are still completely locked. Does anyone have any suggestions. This book was nearly final and I have a hard deadline.

I do have ID CS5.5 on another computer. Do you think it would be worth trying to convert the file to the newer version and then back to CS5?

OK, I've completely severed all connection to IC. Anchored boxes are still locked. I exported the whole thing to IDML again and opened that. Anchored boxes are still locked. I copied the text out of the story into a new blank document and the anchored text boxes are still locked. They show little locks on the frames. Is there a way to lock anchored text boxes without locking the story? If there is, maybe there's a way to unlock them? I'm just wondering if some option I don't know about was accidentally applied.

Help with text box rasterization in adobe muse

When ever I create a text box, add some text , highlight the text and try and create it into a hyperlink, it says that the text requires rasterization and that the hyperlink will not work.
How do I 'rasterize' the text box which will allow me to convert the text within, into a hyperlink?

For some reason in the new MUSE it wont let me add an email address for example:

I am new to photoshop. While going through one of the basic video tutorials, I came to the section where is says to add text. I followed instructions, but can't see what I type. My cursor looks different than the one in the video when I click into the layer with the text tool too. I have a small square dot. The video shows a normal text cursor, as you'd find in Illustrator.
If I type something and click enter, it replaces the name of the layer, but is still not visible in the image. The layer displays as a text layer. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

You mentioned you are new to Photoshop. When using the Type tool if, instead of clicking, you click with a tiny drag to the click you will see this symbol:

I have the newest software, im seriously irritated with the fill in text. Everyday I use the word shiit, minus the extra I. and it allways wants to put the words shut or shot. I dont think ive EVER even used those words. this has gone on ever since I updated months ago. Is there any way to stop it from doing this? it drives me nuts!

Apparently, the dictionary has sh*t-for-brains..
Try this (it looks insane, but works).
Settings > General > Keyboard > International Keyboards > Add New Keyboard > select Japanese Ten Key and add.
Back out of Settings and go back to General > Keyboard > (you will now see a new choice) Edit User Dictionary > "+" > Word > type in that word > Save
You now will be able to use that word using the English keyboard without correction. Why this hidden feature requires enabling a Japanese dictionary (and only Japanese) is a question only Apple can answer...

I am creating a form. I have a text field where the person will type a number into text field and I need it to also enter in another text field. For example, the person enters 23 into text field 12, I also need the entry of text field 12 to show up in text field 63. Is this possible? I'm VERY new to this, so a step by step response would be greatly appreciated!

This requires a script as you have to first verify that the denominator is not blank or zero, or you'll get an invalid operation.
Something like this should work as the custom calculation script of your field:

I am trying to display text in a fixed frame in Reports 9i.
Example:
Assuming Fixed Display Text Area in Report = 5 lines x 100 characters
Text field in database has capacity of 4000 characters(which is free form text entered by user and can contain tabs/carriage return etc)
How do I read from the database text field to display only the text that would fit in the fixed frame on the report. And I need to display the remaining text in the subsequent pages of the report.
Ideally 5 lines of text would mean 500 characters, but this can vary based on existence of tab spaces or carriage returns.

If you registered your iPhone with Apple using a support profile, try going to https://supportprofile.apple.com/MySupportProfile.do and unregistering it. Also, try changing the password associated with the Apple ID that you were using for iMessage.

Ok let me elaborate this problem little more.
I want to show my text box as it is in normal editors e.g. In Matlab editor. There is a text box and on left side the gray bar shows the line numbers corresponding to the text. Further more i want that the user should be able to click on any line number to mark specific line as breakpoint (red circle or any graphical indication for mark).

Reader doesn’t create pdf files. You can use Acrobat (ask in that forum) to create pdfs. You can subscribe to the Adobe PDF Pack which has a create pdf functionality (please ask in that forum), or you can use a third party utility such as ghostscript, cutepdf, or Microsoft’s own PDF creation capability. For third party pdf creation you will need to ask in a forum dedicated to that software as fellow users of Reader are unlikely to have the knowledge to help.

OK. Sounds like you are simply below the top level of the Inbox menu. Look at the upper left of the mail box list. You should some text (what exactly will depend on where you are) precedded by an <. Tap on that until you return to the top of the list.
Also - Phil could very well be correct (hard to say with being able to see your screen).

It works fine when i remove the text box from my sub template. I tried to put the text box directly in the main template and it worked fine !! it is erroring out only when i use the text box in sub template !!

i got the below error when i tried to 'preview' the report from my report definition.
Error generating the report output: During calling method PTFOProcessor.generateOutput, the XDO engine throws an exception:NULL. (235,3101) (235,2309)
Error occurred during the process of generating the output file from template file, XML file, and the translation XLIFF file.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
