Please helpppp syncing probs

I just got a ne i pod touch .. i installed the latest version of I tunes..
Well now when everi try to sync my i pod syncs only some stuff and then shows "the disk cannot be read from or written to" . i updated my i pod but it did not help..
please tell me if their is ne solutions Pleease

Why bother to write what you mean if after only ten or fifteen hours and eight or ten useless posts, several people will put their heads together and figure out what you could have said clearly in the first place? What happened when you tried the iTunes / Cable method.?
Mobile Me no longer exists and iCloud requires 10.7.5 or more, upgrade your version of OS X.

Just reset your phone:
Press the Sleep/Wake button & Home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the Apple logo, then release.
This should let you use the phone normally, no restore needed.

Itunes stopped syncing and says I must restore Ipod. My media videos did not get backed up. I can't replace the videos PLEASE HELPPPP

I need some serious help, PLEASE!!! While I was syncing with Itunes and my ipod touch everything just stopped. Then itunes says I must restore. I didn't get my media file videos backed up and I won't be able to replace the content. (mom 82 YOA playing panio & yodeling etc) Can i do anything to save them? Now my ipod won't do anything. I try to get it to open so I do as told with trying to get the red slider (?) but only get white apple then the itune symbol with the picture of the USB plug & wire below that. Please someone help.

Thank you, but I did that. I de-selected and then re-selected but because the 13019 still won't allow the sync, all it did was completely delete everything on my Ipod! I now have no songs on my Ipod when at least before, I had all my songs but the new 12 songs! I'm freaking!

Please helpppp: iTunes crashes when syncing/upgrading iOS

I cant do anything, whenever i try to sync my ipod touch, it crashes halfway through, when i try to download the new iOS 4.1, it crashes after about 100mb through the download..
i cant update my ipod at all?

ITunes/Outlook 2007/ Windows 7 sync prob

Outlook 2007 sync issue with iTunes 10.4.0.80 on Windows 7. This config has been working ok syncing with outlook calendar and contacts. All of a sudden iTunes no longer sees outlook as an option for syncing under 'info' and the contact/calendar syncing has stopped working. The checkbox works but the drop down box next to 'Sync contacts with...' is empty. I have made sure the itunes addin for outlook is working. I have tried uninstalling itunes as per HT1923 and reinstalled but no good. I have tried reinstalling outlook but again not progress.
Any ideas?
The only thing I have done is some HD partition maintenace (to recover some unused space from an OEM recovery partition) which I can't see would be related as all other software still works perfectly.

Lots of people have viewed my prob but no suggestions. Guess this is indication of extent of iTunes probs!! Anyway, for anyone in same situation I have just found the solution:
1. Close iTunes down
2. Navigate to C:/Users/{YOUR ACCOUNT}/AppData/Roaming/Apple Computer/
3. Remove the contents of /SyncServices/
4. Start iTunes
5. Connect iPhone
Hope this helps someone in future!

Address Book Sync Probs

I have spent the last 5 hours trying to sync my Address Book with my iPhone. I bought the phone because I though it would have easy syncing with my Mac, unlike by Blackberry, but it has so far been a waste of my time.
I have tried reinstalling the new iTunes and even restored my iPhone. I changed every setting I could find just to see if it would work. I have 155 contacts but even tried to just limit the sync with only 1 contact and it still did not work.
Please help, I am not in the mood to have to stay in another long line to try to return it!!

I had this as well. I rebooted the computer, ran the .MAC sync
and then it >showed up properly in iTunes. I don't really think
the .MAC part is needed but that is what I did.
I am having this identical situation. I reset my sync to .Mac, over-riding from the computer > .Mac. This operation succeeded, but iTunes 7.3 still shows address book groups and iCal calendars that have long since been deleted, and any attempt to sync Contacts causes a process called SyncServer to gobble up all available processor power, revving up the fan on my PowerBook G4 (1.67 GHz, OS 10.4.10) to full speed. This continues even if I cancel the sync on the phone and/or in iTunes; until I open Activity Viewer and force-quit SyncServer.
I am considering bringing my 'Book and 'Phone to the Genius Bar for advanced assistance, though I suspect a iTunes 7.3.1 will be required to fix this....

Syncing prob:icons for apps won't sync from Mac to ipod touch G1

I have a 1st Generation iPod touch, 32 GB and the latest version of iTunes on my MacBook Pro. I have tried several times to sync my laptop to my iPod...all goes well except it won't sync the icon pictures of my apps to my ipod...except 2 or 3. Please tell me what setting is wrong or what I can do to get the icon pictures on my iPod. Buying an updated iPod Touch may solve the problem, but that is not an option at the moment. This one is so old it doesn't have a cam or anything... but it still works very well.

You say you have a 1G iPod. Those can only gas as high as iOS 3.1.3 that you get here:
Purchasing iOS 3.1 Software Update for iPod touch (1st generation)
However, not there are few apps still compatible with the 3.1.3. Many have been udated so theay are no lnoger compatible with th 3.1.3.
Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.

Cure for Logic/Cre8 users with sync probs!

I bought Cre8 last weekend & got the dreaded L8 sync issues with Logic Pro 7.2.1 when used via Melodynebridge. 3.0.1.5
(I'm currently having issues with 3.1.0.9 knocking out my Reason L/R input)
Having read a little further regarding being VST more solid, I used http://www.fxpansion.com/product-auadapter-main.php FXpansions VST > AudioUnit wrapper on the Melodynebridge VST version.
Worked like a charm. Sync issues disapeared & worked as it's supposed to. Seeing as I'm a newbie to Cre8, I haven't pushed the app, so maybe there will still be further issues.
Should also work with 3.1.0.9 if some are having probs.

I don't know the ASR-10, but my feeling is that the count-off is only going to work if you're driving the ASR's sequencer from its own internal clock. This is usually the case when an keyboard's on-board sequencer is set to slave to ext. clock and song position pointer (SPP).

i had a 2GB ipod nano, used it for a month, then got a 4GB one free with my macbook, so i gave the 2GB one to my sister. she tried plugging it into her windows laptop, but it would only charge the ipod and wouldn't sync it to her itunes. how can she replace my old songs with her current ones?

Hi so my problem here is really difficult to resolve. I got a brand new iPhone 5, and my computers usb ports are BOTH broken so i was hoping to sync my music within wifi sync, cuz i heard that works really well, but then i heard i need to plug it in in order to start wi-fi sync so im kind of stuck here, what should i do to make itunes recognize my brand new iphone wirelessly.... PLEASE HELP ME FIND A LOGICAL SOLUTION.

Ahh the plot thickens You wont get a usb card for the mbp im afraid.
The best bet would be to have the Mac fixed if you want to use the itunes on this computer.
Only other way it to set up on another computer but this will be messy.

Erase and sync prob

okay so i put all my stuff from one computer to the new laptop long wait but did it and all the videos synced yet when i try to sync the last of the apps and songs it says erase and sync which it says it will erase exsisting stuff and replace it with the stuff in the library how do i fix this prob????

That is how it works when you switch computers. You end up have to erase the iPad and replace its contents with that on the new computer. That is why you have to move the stuff to the new computer before you sync. With manual syncing you can sync some items to a different computer and it sound like that is what you did. If you right click on your iPod in Itunes (left side) you see an option to backup. If you backup then you should be able to then restore from backup and then synce everthing to your iPod.

I have a MacBook Pro and a Mac Pro (see profile for full details). I'm new to having a laptop AND a desktop... whenever I go on trips I need to use the laptop but then come back and use desktop. Ideally, a good idea, but...
What I'm missing is how to sync the files??
I have files on MacPro not on MBP and files on MBP not on MacPro. It's becoming a mess. Right now I'm doing transfers manually and it's horrible! Esp. cuz I have to transfer all from one comp to an external drive and then onto the other computer. Time wasting!
There must be an easier way?
Plus, the real issue is _I don't want to sync all files_. Just essential ones. Main big file system stays on Mac Pro, smaller travel needed files need to be on MBP.
Please help?

No one has answered it still! (Did I post in wrong section?) Hence reason why I cannot leave out the 'external drive' part because all files when I transferred came up with MINUS signs and I can't access them (unless I copy them THREE times to THREE different locations - makes NO sense to me!!)

Thanks AW - I might try to redo as per your advice, but when you say clean install, you mean to literally wipe the whole drive and reinstall the operating system? At this point, I'm not sure it's the best thing since there's only a limited number of files I need within the 'minus' folders. My main working folders transferred ok since I pulled them from the external fw drive.
The problem still would stand though, as to how I sync files after I use migration utility, if I try it again. Is migration utility supposed to be used every time I sync? I thought it was just for my initial set up.
Fortuny - I have heard of ChronoSync and had been planning on looking into it for backups. I didn't know it could be used to sync laptop to desktop though...
Can I use ChronoSync to sync user files? I am wondering if I could just avoid the migration utility all together and use this ChronoSync instead and not get all these weird permission issues... Maybe?

Blackberry Media Sync Prob.

I'm running my media sync on a vista home premium system.When you click on start it says " The Blackberry media sync installation failed to initialized. Please run the Blackberry desktop manager with administrative priviledges and try again." I am the only person using this computer so I am the administrator. Can anyone think what could be wrong?

Gambit - why are you posting this here? After going through the hoops it plainly says on the download page that it's the same "Preview Version" as was released in December.
It's misleading to post news of Media Sync 2.0 here when Mac-BlackBerry users haven't even been provided with a stable version of Media Sync 1.0 !
