Hello, I bought an iphone 5 this week and is spoiled, I can not activate the phone.
Has been seen by an official Apple in Portugal and informed me that according to Apple's rules can not replace the phone.
Please I am desperate someone can help me?

You live in Portugal and the iPhone was purchased in Portugal from an official Apple carrier or retailer for the iPhone in Portugal?
If so, what rules did this official Apple carrier for the iPhone provide regarding why the iPhone can't be exchanged under warranty?
If the answer to my first question is yes, the carrier is wrong. The iPhone includes a one year warranty.

    It seems I have solved my own problem . . . well hopefully !!   ;-)
    I was using a 'non' Apple cable. When I swithced to using the stock cable that came with my iPhone, iTunes can now see that I have a 'Device' and identifies it correctly as my iPhone.
    Hopefully this may help others . . . ?

    Wow the customer service is even worse. Does Apple want me to go around jailbreaking my iPod now so I can use something that actually recognizes my product?

    After I upgraded to Mavericks I was also having this message when I tried to update. There was a previous post about this problem which offered this simple solution which worked for me:

    Got it! Thanx.  What I did was go to my account, check that they had my new ID and Password which they did, then hit reset button. All fixed.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

    Before I bought it I did the same question at the Apple Store, and they told me "You can extend your existing Wi-Fi Signal with Airport Express wireless...
    You cannot extend wireless from any brand except another apple router.. the store might have assumed you were using an apple main router. Most people who buy express buy them to extend an extreme or time capsule.
    You are correct .. in the setup documents it does say 5.6.1 is adequate to do the setup.. my bad.. !!

    I recently had to re-install itunes as it wouldn't work when i connected my new iphone.

    We are users like you and won't be able to extend your warranty. You will need to physically return the device to the USA for warranty service as you probably already know. Here is an article that deals with error #2001: Resolve iOS update and restore errors

  • My firefox icons like FIRE BUG, REMINDERFOX in my task bar (lower right corner) are not a 100% visible, I think they are underneath the task bar of my computer. I barely see them but i can't click on them. Please if someone can help it will be great.

    Excuse my technical language. When everything was normal, I had icons on my computer task bar (bottom of my screen) from my programs and from Firefox, but now the icons from Firefox Add-ons like the Firebug, ReminderFox and AniWeather are barely visibles, I can still see them behind this task bar but I can't click on them. It looks like they are behind a thin coat of glass. If someone can help, please do I will appreciate it.

    Now that you mention it, I'm having the exact same problem on Facebook as well, when I play Family Feud.
    I wish someone would investigate and post a solution to this problem. No-one from Playlist has responded, and no-one "Officially" from Firefox either.
    So Mariah, I appreciate you and your post.

    I've installed without problems Oracle 9i under Linux Mandrake 8.1, I've also installed the OMS, all start and run but Apache doesn't work.
    I tested the status and it's all ok, but when I try to see something trought the web I see nothing.
    I did a default installation and the Mandrake web server is listen on the 8080 port so I think they don't go in conflict.
    I tried to stop and restart Apache, I see all the OK messages but nothing works and, from the Enterprise manager console, when I try to startup Apache the server says that I've not preferred credential setted, but the credential are not required.
    Someone can help me???

    Unlike some languages, LabVIEW treats time very seriously.  Not only does it have Time and Wait functions, but the LabVIEW Data Acquisition hardware has really reliable clocks, so that if you want to sample for exactly 24 hours, it is much more efficient and precise to set the sampling rate to once per minute and then take exactly 24*60 samples (24 hours times 60 minutes/hour).
    Here is an outline of what I would do.  Note the use of the Error Line (always recommended as a LabVIEW Best Practice, if for no other reason than to provide a sense of serial ordering of the program).
    Note the first "Wait for Midnight" loop.  All it does is every 30 seconds (or 30,000 milliseconds), it "wakes up", gets the current time as a string, and sees if it is 12:00 AM.  If so, it exits the Wait loop and starts the 24-hour sample-every-minute loop.  I show writing all of the data after the loop exits, but since you have a whole minute to write out one piece of data, you might as well put it into the loop.  Note that if you need the current time, you can easily use the same Get Date/Time String function (with no input wired, it gives you the current date/time) to get the current date and time, as well.

IE: to make the videos play consecutively in the order i want without stopping after each video and gong back to the list.... this is what i have had to resort to make it work....what i want to do....is be able to make a playlist of videos on my iphone 5....take my apple tv to friends houses and with wifi....set up apple tv and play videos at the party and not have to stand by with the remote and find a new video to play stopping the music between the songs/videos....very annoying....and have spent over 4 hours one day and an hour and a half today on the phone today with a sr. advisor with apple and they have no clue.... this seems sooooo simple.... please somebody that really knows how to do this....i will be indebted forever...............

  • Hope someone can help - Lightroom not working...at all...nothing....

    I have tried installing about 20 or so times now and still cant get any thing at all when i launch the application - its likek it freezes. Something somewhere is missing or corrupt in my mac or the dowmload i downloaded and here's really hoping someone can help.
    I have been using the beta since beta 1. This morning i downloaded the V1.0 and went through the usual steps on a mac. Launched the programme and got the option screen of entering a code or trying for free for 30 days.
    Chose the free trial as my serial code had not yet been sent.
    The application seemed to start and then said it was going to upgrade/update (or similar) my old library and this may take a few minutes. Fine - I've got all day - no worries.
    5 hours later and not a whole lot appears to have happened other than Lightroom being frozen and I cant do much. Force quit ensues and an attempt to relaunch the application.
    It launches and I getthe start up Window that lists all teh people who made it...but my cursor just goes into spinning ball mode an dnothing happens. This has now gone on about 20 or so times. I have tried removing the Lightroom with Appzapper and then re-installing the original beta followed by the new download....still nothing but a frozen lightroom
    Anyone got any ideas - it must be something to do with my mac as everyone else seems to be using lightroom ok... and i'm desperate...seeing as i've been using it since beta 1

    Another thing to check is the permission settings on the Lightroom application and on the folder where your library lives (or will live, if you're making a new one.)
    The Lightroom application needs to have an owner who has read/write permission on the library folder's location. Normally this owner will either be your own user ID or the "system" ID -- check by doing a command-i and seeing what shows up under the 'Details' section of the 'Ownership and Permissions' section.
    I was having exactly the same problem you described until I checked and discovered that for some reason, Adobe's Installer had installed Lightroom with a strange owner ID that only had read permission on my library folder's location. Since Lightroom needs to be able to both read and write to the library when it starts up, it was launching and then just sitting there doing nothing.
    I changed Lightroom's owner to 'system,' then made sure that the 'admin' group (of which 'system' is a member) had read/write permission on my library folder's location. After that, Lightroom launched fine.

    This can be used to boot the machine and delelte enough files to get it to boot normally.
    .Create a data recovery/undelete external boot drive
    Read about storage drive so you can store your extra stuff.
    Most commonly used backup methods
