Please i need a default password of the SQL Server...
hi...
I have a big problem, we have a EP in a server but we don´t remember any user or any pass, and i don´t have a documentation of this...
Are a way to know the user and/or password of SQL to try to read this information. We don´t change this params(I hope so). Thanks...
Sorry for my english
Carlos Ligues
Hi Carlos,
where do you want to log on? To the portal as a user/admin? To the J2EE Engine?
From the databases, you have no chance to get the password of anything, because passes are stored as hashes and not as clear text.
If you forgot any user/passes to log on to the portal, please activate the sap* user, see How To SAP* Initial User Set or Reset
For the J2EE engine it depends on the version you are using. For 6.20 there has been a default user "Administrator", password empty.
Hope it helps

How to get password for the Sql server 2008 r2
Always when a user forgets a SA password , Blogs suggest to get into the server through windows Authentication having SysAdmin , and change the password for user SA.
Sir,
Is there any other methods to retrieve or see the password what we assigned before.
Example: If SA Password is assigned as Test
I have to get Test
, Instead of changing password.
Thanks in Advance.
Hello,
Dont you think it would create a Havoc if one could specifically see other admins password.Apply Gumption, you wont use SQL server if that feature is there.You cannot obtain password for other users.
If user forgets it change it ,there is no restriction on changing.

How to install and configure the SQL Server
Hi All,
We have to install SQL server in the new server because the old server is crash and need to upgrade. Please advice How to install and configure the SQL Server to run SAP Business One 8.8 successfully and what part we do have to give attention.
Kind Rgds,
SteveHi,
Try this solution:
The step-by-step installation guide can be found in the documentation included in the installation media. (\Documentation\SystemSetup\AdministratorGuide_SQL.pdf).
Below are some important parts that you should pay attention to during the Installation process.
Resolution
Collation setting: It must be set as SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS,even the company DB is non-english location. The company DB will be created as corresponding collation settings automatically.
Instance and TCP Port : It is recommended to run SBO on default instance and TCP port 1433. Otherwise,some optional components such as B1i may not work properly.
Native Client: SQL Server Native Client should be installed on every client machine to enable the ODBC connection to DB server.

Need To Create a table in Sql Server and do some culculation into the table from Oracle and Sql
Hello All,
I'm moving a data from Oracle to Sql Server with ETL (80 tables with data) and i want to track the number of records that i moving on the daily basis , so i need to create a table in SQL Server, wilth 4 columns , Table name, OracleRowsCount, SqlRowCount,
and Diff(OracleRowsCount - SqlRowCount) that will tell me the each table how many rows i have in Oracle, how many rows i have in SQL after ETL load, and different between them, something like that:
Table Name OracleRowsCount SqlRowCount Diff
Customer 150 150
0
Sales 2000 1998
2
Devisions 5 5
0
(I can add alot of SQL Tasks and variables per each table but it not seems logicly to do that, i tryid to find a way to deal with that in vb but i didn't find)
What the simplest way to do it ?
Thank you
Best Regards
DanielHi Daniel,
According to your description, what you want is an indicator to show whether all the rows are inserted to the destination table. To achieve your goal, you can add a Row Count Transformation following the OLE DB Destination, and redirect bad rows to the Row
Count Transformation. This way, we can get the count of the bad rows without redirecting these rows. Since the row count value is stored in a variable, we can create another string type variable to retrieve the row count value from the variable used by the
Row Count Transformation, and then use a Send Mail Task to send the row count value in an email message body. You can also insert the row count value to the SQL Server table through Execute SQL Task. Then, you can check whether bad rows were generated in the
package by querying this table.

I need to load an image from the sql server database using java. I have connected to the database and getting all other records except the records for a photo (datatype = LONGVARBINARY) and Remarks (datatype = LONGVARCHAR).
I am using java and sql server db. The photo and remarks are stored in the db. and i need to show the image and the remarks fetching them from there.
I get the error :
Thread-9 org.hibernate.MappingException: No Dialect mapping for JDBC type: -1
How can I achieve this?
Thanks,
GargiExactly. And are you using MySQL?
No. You are using Microsoft SQL server if I have to believe your initial post. A quick google tells me that the dialect class to use is:

My OS is 32-bit and i have already downloaded the SQL Server 2012 Express but i cant find the SQL Server Management studio so please tell me how can i get it?
Hello Muhammad,
if you already install SQL server, to run the Managment Studio you can click Start and Run, and type "SSMS".
Of course you can create a shortcut and look for the file (this is the installation location you selected during the installation process) using the Windows search (pressing F3 activates the search).

Set the default pathname for the application server
Dear Guru,
I have encountered an issue in CG3Z and CG3Y
I am not able to set the default pathname for the application server
can any one give some guideline how to set the default pathname for the application server.
Thanks and regards
Saifur RahamanHi Saifur,
There is no such option in CG3Z or CG3Y. If you still want to do it you will have to customize it by copying the program RC1TCG3Z & RC1TCG3Y to Z & the Function Modules C13Z_FRONT_END_TO_APPL & C13Z_APPL_TO_FRONT_END to Z & also the program LC13ZF01 to Z which runs both of these transactions.
And finally the data declaration in the program LC13ZF01 as :-
DATA: L_FILE_NAME_FTAPPL LIKE RCGFILETR-FTAPPL value 'you default pathname'
DATA: L_FILE_NAME_FTFRONT LIKE RCGFILETR-FTFRONT value 'you default pathname'.

Welcome to the SQL Server Disaster Recovery and Availability Forum
(Edited 8/14/2009 to correct links - Paul)
Hello everyone and welcome to the SQL Server Disaster Recovery and Availability forum. The goal of this Forum is to offer a gathering place for SQL Server users to discuss:
Using backup and restore
Using DBCC, including interpreting output from CHECKDB and related commands
Diagnosing and recovering from hardware issues
Planning/executing a disaster recovery and/or high-availability strategy, including choosing technologies to use
The forum will have Microsoft experts in all these areas and so we should be able to answer any question. Hopefully everyone on the forum will contribute not only questions, but opinions and answers as well. I’m looking forward to seeing this becoming a vibrant forum.
This post has information to help you understand what questions to post here, and where to post questions about other technologies as well as some tips to help you find answers to your questions more quickly and how to ask a good question. See you in the group!

What to post in this forum
It seems obvious, but this forum is for discussion and questions around disaster recovery and availability using SQL Server. When you want to discuss something that is specific to those areas, this is the place to be. There are several other forums related to specific technologies you may be interested in, so if your question falls into one of these areas where there is a better batch of experts to answer your question, we’ll just move your post to that Forum so those experts can answer. Any alerts you set up will move with the post, so you’ll still get notification. Here are a few of the other forums that you might find interesting:
SQL Server Setup & Upgrade – This is where to ask all your setup and upgrade related questions. (http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sqlsetupandupgrade/threads)

How to ask a good question
Make sure to give all the pertinent information that people will need to answer your question. Questions like “I got an IO error, any ideas?” or “What’s the best technology for me to use?” will likely go unanswered, or at best just result in a request for more information. Here are some ideas of what to include:
For the “I got an IO error, any ideas?” scenario:
The exact error message. (The SQL Errorlog and Windows Event Logs can be a rich source of information. See the section on error logs below.)
What were you doing when you got the error message?
When did this start happening?
Any troubleshooting you’ve already done. (e.g. “I’ve already checked all the firmware and it’s up-to-date” or "I've run SQLIOStress and everything looks OK" or "I ran DBCC CHECKDB and the output is <blah>")
Any unusual occurrences before the error occurred (e.g. someone tripped the power switch, a disk in a RAID5 array died)
If relevant, the output from ‘DBCC CHECKDB (yourdbname) WITH ALL_ERRORMSGS, NO_INFOMSGS’
The SQL Server version and service pack level
For the “What’s the best technology for me to use?” scenario:
What exactly are you trying to do? Enable local hardware redundancy? Geo-clustering? Instance-level failover? Minimize downtime during recovery from IO errors with a single-system?
What are the SLAs (Service Level Agreements) you must meet? (e.g. an uptime percentage requirement, a minimum data-loss in the event of a disaster requirement, a maximum downtime in the event of a disaster requirement)
What hardware restrictions do you have? (e.g. “I’m limited to a single system” or “I have several worldwide mirror sites but the size of the pipe between them is limited to X Mbps”)
What kind of workload does you application have? (or is it a mixture of applications consolidated on a single server, each with different SLAs) How much transaction log volume is generated?
What kind of regular maintenance does your workload demand that you perform (e.g. “the update pattern of my main table is such that fragmentation increases in the clustered index, slowing down the most common queries so there’s a need to perform some fragmentation removal regularly”)
Finding the Logs
You will often find more information about an error by looking in the Error and Event logs. There are two sets of logs that are interesting:
SQL Error Log: default location: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.#\MSSQL\LOG (Note: The # changes depending on the ID number for the installed Instance. This is 1 for the first installation of SQL Server, but if you have mulitple instances, you will need to determine the ID number you’re working with. See the BOL for more information about Instance ID numbers.)
Windows Event Log: Go to the Event Viewer in the Administrative Tools section of the Start Menu. The System event log will show details of IO subsystem problems. The Application event log will show details of SQL Server problems.hi,I have a question on sql database high availability. I have tried using database mirroring, where I am using sql standard edition, in this database mirroring of synchronous mode is the only option available, and it is giving problem, like sql time out errors on my applicatons since i had put in the database mirroring, as asynchronous is only available on enterprise version, is there any suggestions on this. thanks ---vijay

Error Using the SQL Server 2000 Driver for JDBC Service Pack 3
Hi,
Im using the SQL Server 2000 Driver for JDBC Service Pack 3. The connection is succesfully, but when I use de statement.executequery() method, there is the follow exception:
java.sql.SQLException: [Microsoft][SQLServer 2000 Driver for JDBC][SQLServer]Invalid object name 'PEC_COUNTRY'.
This is my code:
ResultSet resultSet;
Statement statement;
Connection connection;
Class.forName("com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver").newInstance();
connection = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://S0MALMUERTA:1433;user=sa;password=");
statement = connection.createStatement();
resultSet = statement.executeQuery("SELECT COY_INX, COY_NAME, COY_ICO FROM PEC_COUNTRY
");When I make the last instruction, occurs the above exception
Thanks in advance
LuijaThe way you are connecting, the default database used will be 'master' and i guess that the table PEC_COUNTRY was defined in another database.
If it is the case you need to specify the database name.
connection = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://S0MALMUERTA:1433;DatabaseName=yourdb;user=sa;password="); -

I will found in the Task manager the set up file is Running....Hi Ychinnari,
Based on your description, you fail to install SQL Server 2008 R2 on Windows 7 SP1.
According to the screenshot, we need to verify that if SQL Server 2008 R2 setup disappears when installing setup support files. If so, please post the error message from SQLSetup.log file of the temp folder for analysis. Click on start->run and
type %temp % and press enter, you will navigate to the temp folder. For more details, you can review this
blog. Also, please help to collect the summary and detail logs, by default, the logs can be found in: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup Bootstrap\Log.
In addition, there are some proposals for you troubleshooting this issue.
1. Ensure that your system meets the
hardware and software requirements for installing SQL Server 2008 R2.
2. Make sure that you install SQL Server 2008 R2 with a admin account, and please choose “Run as administrator” to complete installation.
3. Make sure that previous installations of SQL Server has been uninstalled completely from your computer. For more details, please review the similar blog:
SQL Server 2008 R2 Setup starts and then disappears.
4. Stop any Anti-Virus software when installing SQL Server 2008 R2.

Need to convert DTS packages to SQL Server 2012 environment.
Hi Friends,
As Part of the Project Requirement,we need to convert DTS packages to SQL Server 2012 environment.
Please sugest me best approach.
ThanksBest approach is to re-design the packages in SSIS 2012 directy if it is feasible. Because most of the DTS feaures are discontinued and also you will have to clean up all errors that you are going to get after migration.
Discontinued Integration Services Functionality in SQL Server 2012
Otherwise you need to migrate it first to 2008R2 and then 2012 version.
Below ones would be helpful for you:
